It's Tariday, Khael 13 13:20:59 1018. The full moon is up. The tide is high and rising. Fair weather clouds drift through the blue sky from the west, along with the wind. The sunlight on the snow is dazzling, and it gleams on the ice.

A06: The Verdant Earth (+sotd)

The Verdant Earth is a bit of natury springtime in the midst of the snow-blanketed City. On this early afternoon, a tallish wild elf with rusty brown hair and wearing learther and mithral is here to do business with the current proprietress--after she attends to another customer.

And why is Lysa at the shop? That's easy. She approached the store and walked inside a few minutes ago. Now she waits patiently to speak with the shopkeeper. While she does so, she's examining one item of interest on the shelves.... but she is remaining patient and appears pleased to just be here... evidenced by the smile on her face. Or maybe she just smiles more often than not.

The customer currently occupying the shopkeeper seems to be having a difficult time of her business. In the meantime, the elf, not particularly dressed for winter by the way, looks around a bit, too. Seeing the cheerful human, he says, "A welcome change from the smells typical of the City, is it not?" With a slight bow, he offers, "I am Ga'Elian."

Nodding enthusiastically, Lysa seems to be bundled up less than most locals. But when she opens her mouth, her appearance and her accent tell the tale of a Stormgarder. "Aye, I am being impressed with your collection. I wonder if ye be havin' any <insert Alchemy ingredient the player can't name properly.>" She pauses and grins, "I am being seeking ways to combine alchemy and my skills as a brewmistress."

Ga'Elian considers for a moment, then says, "I wot rather little of the uses of herbs, save those that ease the pains of the body and aid in restoring the proper balance of the humors. But I do have a steady trade in supplying such herbs as the season rendereth to shopkeepers that deal in such wares. Indeed, 'tis not uncommon for them to request that I fetch them very specific varieties, often requiring an adventurer to obtain, but then they (and I assume their customers) are generally willing to make the effort worth my while."

Nodding slowly, Lysa just grins, "I was just seeking to use various items to alter the flavor or appearance of my brews. I specialize in Mead, but.." she shrugs, "It is just something I am pondering doing to make my brews unique and identifiable."

She reaches for a sample on a shelf and gently examines it. Then she looks your way and shrugs with a smile, "It may be a frivolous thought, but... it is a hobby."

Ga'Elian smiles, "It soundeth not frivolous to me. We all have those pursuits that occupy the more peaceful moments of life. So, from thine attire, I would suppose thee to be a warrior of the Sun Lord?"

Nodding her head, Lysa intones, "Aye, I am being a knight of the Shining One. Or.. as some locals have called me, a Sunblade." she grins and adds, "I have made a brew that appeared somewhat like liquid gold in His honor, but I would like to do better than I have done already."

Ga'Elian says, "'Tis nigh impossible to find wild honey in winter, but I understand that the flavor of mead is much affected by the type of flowers from which the bees collected the pollen. Perhaps thou mightest get better results in the Spring, but, I suppose this shop affordeth the about the best chance of good quality honey as any place thou wilt find.

As it turneth out, I too have some dealings with the temple of Daeus, as He is called here. Of late, a certain cult hath been scheming to control a fiend of the the Pit in a bid to gain unholy power. In the process, some imps have been loosed upon the City. I did try to track them down and destroy them, but alas there were so many that the trail went cold ere I could finish the task. Now we fight the cult in other ways, but what the escaped imps may bring to pass is a mere guess."

"Aye, fresh wild honey is very difficult to find in these winter months. I used my last supply of honey in the batch I made recently." offers Lysa. But then she inclines her head and shrugs, "I am being finding it funny what is called winter in Alexandria, ya..."

But then you talk about the Pit lord and the Imps and she narrows her eyes, "I am being working with Elisabeth priestess of the Shining Knight. I will take word of these imps to her and we shall begin investigating indeed." She pauses though and then nods, "Daeus has blessed me with the ability to spy those with darkness in their hearts and souls... perhaps that ability could help in such a hunt." (Yep! Detect Evil!)

The proprietress finally finishes with the complicated customer. She says, "Alright then, dears. Thanks for waiting, who's next then?

Ga'Elian gestures, saying, "You go right ahead, miss. My business might take a little while to conclude."
