The monastery sits above the mists, the stone slick with damp. The lonely road is made more so by the chill, though at least the wind has died down.
  +
  +
Inside, the place is warm, dry and cheerful. Several passersby have settled in the foyer, enjoying a hot morning meal of oatmeal, fresh bread and tea. A few of the monks also partake, talking jovially with the travelers.
  +

Deeper into the monastery is Simony's room, with the door slightly ajar. The Gobbo is busying herself with cleaning, currently sweeping the floor, while the room has been neatly arranged and tied. A kettle begins to whistle atop a small wood-burning stove, distracting Simony from her chore, momentarily.

  +
An ethereal thread wafts through Simony's window, it twirling around the Navosian before curling and winding past the door. There's a dull flash of blue and white, followed by a fluttering flap and talons scraping along the floor. "Woah-.. discombobulatin'!" a familiar crooning voice twitters before getting themselves sorted.
  +
  +
Knock knock.
  +
  +
"Oi! Room inspection!" a shoddily gruff voice says.
  +

Behind the door was Slixvah! Well, mostly her. Her burnt robes and ribbons have been mended and replaced, but patches of feathers along her being are gone, exposing grey skin underneath.

The Goblin squeaks in surprise at the flash of blue and white, her little face appearing at the crack of the door as the knock sounds. The broom is left to topple over as she runs out to hug at the rust and white Egalrin.
  +
  +
Moni's hair is considerably shorter now, reaching just past her shoulders, the braids undone. "Slivvie!", she says into the birb's stomach. The Gobbo tugs on Slixvah's hand, to lead her into the room. "Just in time for tea!"
  +
  +
Slivvie wraps Simony in a winged embrace. "Heya Moni," she coos warmly, ruffling the shorter hair before letting them go save a hand. "Excellent."
  +
  +
Once in, she all but throws herself into a chair, letting all six of her limbs hang limp. "Buh... Hi! What up, girlie?" she chirps. "How ya doin'? Caught ya cleanin'?"
  +
  +
"Yes, I uhm... had to cut my hair due to that last bit of work we did. So I needed to clean up after that, and thought it was a good idea to do a full clean. I also rearranged the furniture too." If there's any change, it's hardly noticeable. "How are you doing?" Her expression is sad as she notes some of the bare patches. "I hate that you've lost feathers. Do they grow back quickly?"
  +
  +
Hot tea is poured into two mugs, one being Gobbo-sized, while the other is appropriately sized for the Egalrin. Both mugs are set before Slixvah, and the Gobbo pulls a chair up close to Slix'. "But we succeeded in freeing the Phoenix and rescuing the Giantborn woman. Er, Thurid was her name? I think I had seen her around town before, but we were not formally introduced. She has a magnificent hammer!"
  +
  +
"Ahhh. Yeah, I getcha, I had ta do similar, plucked a bunch of feathers out 'cause of tha'," Slix giggles, gesturing to the bare patches on her face and arms. She shrugs. "Eh, it'll grow back. Takes a little bit tho'. Was actually gonna ask if ya had any of that fast grow stuff ya used layin' 'round. Doin' pretty good otherwise."
  +
  +
She looks about to note any differences, but scratches her head at finding seemingly nothing.
  +
  +
The witch gives pulls her cup closer. "Thanks hon." A wide, cocky grin plasters her visage and beak. "Yeah we did! So freakin' majestic! We freed a friggin /Phoenix/! Ah...!" she enthuses, starry eyed.
  +
  +
Grey hands wrap around the cup. "Ye, Thurid. Heard of her. She's certainly gots the mountain's blessin'! Was worried when she jumped in- only a little salty 'bout that- but I get it. I'm just glad I was able ta lance th' hold on 'er before I got squimshed."
  +
  +
"Oh sure! But, um, there's only a little bit left. You can probably cover a few of your patches, though! Think it will work on feathers?" The wee woman heads over to her desk, and begins rummaging around in the drawers. "It's in here somewhere... was it an ointment or a tincture? Oh, cream!" Moni returns with a small round, metal container, and offers it up to Slixvah. "It definitely smells medicinal, so, don't mind that. I hope it works, you could ask Telamon for more, then!"
  +
  +
The Gobbo settles back in her chair, and sighs. "It was pretty, I can say. I'd never seen a phoenix before. And she seemed very happy to be freed." She snorts. "Those demons were damned annoying. I had to change my whole spell memorization around just to help deal with them. I am thinking of having my warhammer magic'd up so I can mash their kneecaps next time."
  +
  +
Simony grins brightly, "Yes, that was some good work on your part, especially with those erm... vats? The ominous containers with the eeew ick inside. And I am glad I woke Aelwyn up before he got his glaive into you."
  +
  +
Slixvah shrugs up to her face. "Dunno! We'll see!" she giggles, taking the container. "Thanks! Hopefully it works!" It gets stashed away into one of the many pockets on her robes.
  +
  +
The patchy egalrin picks up her tea, giving it a little swirl before taking a careful sip. A happy hum leaves her. "Yeah, demons are annoyin'. Resistin' magic. Had ta take nothin' but stuff tha' bypasses tha'. Tha' circle thingy you did? Perfect. Jus' gotta get up wit' ya friends you'll be solid at preventin' mind mess."
  +
  +
She rubs her neck. "... it was okay work. I screwed up th' magic several times and kinda jus' dumped all that holy water I got from ya in one go to see if it worked. And... yeah. I'd prefer him to not stab me with /that/ glaive."
  +
  +
She blinks. Then sips her cup loudly.
  +
  +
"I hope it does! If it doesn't, though, it would still be a good idea to talk to Telamon. He could point you in the right direction, maybe you could make it yourself? That might be a life saver for some of your people? I assume there are accidents that deprive some of their plumage."
  +
  +
The Goblin nods. "You folks long legs move faster. And we really ought to communicate better, things become a jumble so quickly. I was just trying to keep track of everything. See how the battle is flowing, keep track of who is wounded, and trying to work out what magics are about to be used."
  +
  +
Simony waves her hand dismissively, "No, you did fine, it was excellent work! And.. I wouldn't say you screwed anything up. Spellcrafting in combat situations can be hit or miss and besides, those lot were probably more adept at magic than we are. You should feel a bit of pride in undoing their work!"
  +
  +
Moni takes a lengthy sip of tea, only to spew it out to the side a moment later, coughing. "What?"
  +
  +
Slix nods once. "Yuh, I'll hit him up if it don' work. Maybe. Just takes a couple weeks ta get feathers back, We shed 'em all th' time." She shifts to prop her head up on an arm, a wing pressing against the floor so she can lean out of the chair to the side. "I dunno, ya move pretty quick when ya got some mojo thrustin' ya forward. But sometimes ya can't keep track of stuff, gotta delve in. I do tha' sometimes."
  +
  +
The witch looks to the side. "Aww, thanks. I tried my best. Did pretty good too! Gummed up a lot of works, and only got mostly cooked alive!" she jokes in a macabre manner.
  +
  +
The egalrin merely sips her drink. Sets it down daintily and trying very hard to not be amused from the spittake. "Hmm?"
  +
  +
Simony's cheeks flush brightly, and she raises up a little finger, wiggling it back and forth. "Oh no, you don't get to innocently deflect with a 'hmmm?'. You just implied that you'd rather get speared by his 'other' glaive, just now." She puts her hands on her hips. "Out with it. Are you seeing him, then? On the side? On the sly?" The Goblin wipes her nose on a sleeve.
  +
  +
"Did he manage to work his wiles and charm on you, then?"
  +
  +
Slixvah looks up to the ceiling. "Perish the thought, I would /never/ imply something so lurid," she tuts cheekily, leaning back and crossing her legs. "Nay. Neither. Nor."
  +
  +
She's silent for a beat.
  +
  +
Then busts out laughing.
  +
  +
"Oh what am I kidding. Of course I would!" she cackles, clutching at her gut. She shakes her head, sighing heavily. "I'd call it more 'he's being less of an asshole' so I like him more kinda thing. I am /very/ easy to charm."
  +
  +
The Gobbo bursts out into giggles, almost falling off her chair but catching herself at the last moment.
  +
  +
"You goofball. Well just be careful, you're flammable, and the way he lets on, he's all fire on the inside." She holds her cheeks, still giggling in fits and starts. "You don't want to be denuded of feathers and have to ask Telamon for help /in that state/." Moni pauses a moment. "I wonder if Aelwyn's ears are burning right now?"
  +
  +
Simony lets out a sigh, and then smiles. "Easy to charm, and so pretty." Another sip of tea is had, and she lets out another giggle. "I won't tell him you said that. Let him work it out."
  +
  +
Amused, Slix downs the last of her tea. "Eh, it'll be fine, he's not on fire everywhere," she says, it sounding distinctly like she's speaking from experience. "If that man literally catches me on fire tho', I will be upset and hex him."
  +
  +
She shrugs. "I'm sure he'd enjoy people talkin' 'bout him."
  +
  +
The witch shifts a bit, crossing her arms with a cheeky smile on her visage. "Thanks!" she chirps. "He probably already knows. We've been flirting back and forth for a bit. We'll see what happens." Sky blue eyes snap towards Simony.
  +
  +
Reads the gobbo.
  +
  +
"Cloistered priestess up on high, spill it. You have somethin' juicy. I /kno'/ it."
  +
  +
"Pfff, hex him now. 'Cause he likes his fire. I mean, he was hugging my stove there the last time he dropped off a delivery. He's quite likely to set himself on fire to stay warm during the winter."
  +
  +
She snorts, shaking her head. "Yes, he probably would. Especially if they talk about how his colouring reminds them of fire."
  +
  +
Simony takes another sip of tea, and nearly spits it out again as she's interrogated. Clamping a hand over her mouth, she swallows the tea. "At least wait til I'm not drinking!" Recovering her composure, she takes on aloof airs. "Oh no, I am a sweet and innocent priestess, a Temperance even! I am sure I wouldn't know anything that you're insinuating. What are you insinuating, by the way?" The corners of her mouth threaten to curl upwards into a broad smile.
  +
  +
"Well then he ain' gonna get further than jus' flirtin' then!" Slix laughs. "And that'll be all on him!"
  +
  +
The egalrin thuds a finger against the table as a wing extending and points accusingly at Simony. "Bullshit!" she declares cheekily. "An innocent Temperance wouldn't pick up on what glaive I'm talkin' 'bout! I'm insinuating that you've got..."
  +
  +
The egalrin leans forward, squinting at Simony. "... something. I dunno what. But somethin' juicy. Alright, spill it. Who is it!"
  +
  +
Really Slix is just throwing playful chaff, but maybe something will bite.
  +
  +
Simony looks away with a hmmph. "As I told Fidget, I read quite a lot of books, for research purposes. Research. There are articles on numerous things, and one of those things is slang. One notes that.. that... men's thingies are often compared to long pointy things, so calling it a glaive is not unexpected." Her voice lowers, "Though I think you may be overestimating his size. He is a bit of a.." She blinks. "Nevermind!"
  +
  +
Rubbing at her cheeks more, she stands up again. "Would you like some more tea? I'm going to have more tea!" The Gobbo snatches up her mug, and licks at the final drops of her tea.
  +
  +
Slix's brow just raises higher and higher as Simony digs herself further into a hole. She grins. "Suuuure. 'Reeeesearch'. We'll go with that." She just snorts and shakes her head before sticking her tongue out playfully. "Nevermind indeed."
  +
  +
The witch blinks, then grins victoriously. Those raptor features really coming into play as it looks like she's spotted some kind of game. That game: juicy gossip. "Oh nuh uh uh, you ain't deflecting wit' tea!" she wags an animated feather from a wing. Even though she pushes her mug out for more. "Spill it! I spilled it!"
  +
  +
The sound of tea being poured into a mug hangs heavy for a brief moment. "Honest, it is research! I am trying to ascertain as to why people enjoy certain ... red coloured novels when they are obviously bunk, full of uh... salacious details that cannot even be remotely true. From what I can tell, they're not being read for their comedic value, unless that comes with embarrassing your friends by reading portions of pick-up-line poetry at them."
  +
  +
"Did I mention I was tattooing people? I uhm... was tattooing a star onto people, usually ladies, a star that was mentioned in a Crimson Pen novel about a fabulous Half-Sil sorcerer named Melaton."
  +
  +
Slixvah sighs good naturedly shaking her head. "Oh bless your heart," she coos. "Th' books are trash. But they're so bad they're good. And oh so fun ta play 'guess th' adventurer' wit'. But a drinking game readin' them aloud sounds quite hilarious!"
  +
  +
She tilts her head to the side. Blinks. Then guffaws. "Oh. My. Gods. No, you /didn't/! Oh no, Tel's fanbase is gonna go /crazy/!" she giggles.
  +
  +
"I know they're trash, but ... I suppose that might explain it. So bad.. they're good? As for guess the adventurer, sometimes it's so obvious, the undead can figure it out."
  +
  +
Simony settles back down at the table. Tugging on the shoulder of her robe, a small star tattoo is revealed on her left shoulder. "Remember those three mean girls we verbal slapped? They were livid. I saw them again at the erm.. what's the name of the place wizard go to let off steam, and blow stuff up? I ran into them there, I was cheering on Telamon, and met some of Tel's other fans."
  +
  +
Slix nods, taking her cup back. "Yuh. But sometimes its pretty obscure, so its half the fun!"
  +
  +
Her eyes drop some to see the tattoo. "Oh! That's cute. And I do! Good, stick it to 'em! Let 'em know they are rude as hell." She leans forward some, taking a gander at it before leaning back. "I bet they had a blast gettin' the tat. I'd totally get one if like, ya know, I was a softskin. Maybe I'd get like... a yarnball. Yeah."
  +
  +
Sip. "Any other big tattoo gigs yet?"
  +
  +
"I've had a few small ones, but I have one big one coming up." Simony sighs gently. "I can't reveal my client's name, but it is a fairly extensive tattoo rework. It's going to be very challenging, but I think I can pull it off well."
  +
  +
The Gobbo cracks her knuckles in sequence. "It'll be fun! An artistic and technical challenge, and I'm up to the task!" She eyes the Egalrin, a grin slowly moving across her face. "I could tattoo your skin, you know. I mean, you've got some bald patches right now that are soon going to have fresh feathers. You could hide something meaningful under your feathers."
  +
  +
Slixvah smiles. "Ooh nice! Sounds like ya movin' up in ya tattooin' biz! Yeah! You got thi' don' worry!"
  +
  +
The egalrin tilts her head to the side in thought. Taps her beak. "How about this-" her eyes crinkle in a smile, "-gonna try this cream stuff ta see if it works on feathers. If it do, we can pluck a spot out fo' a tattoo, ya can tat me up, and can grow it back! Sound like a good plan?"
  +
  +
"Sure, I can do that! What would you get, though?" Simony nods then. "I hope it does. I mean, hair and feathers serve the same purpose, mostly, so it seems to me that the magic would work on both."
  +
  +
She takes a sip of her tea once more. "Would you like to stay for lunch? I have a delicious curry chicken dish that I was going to make, I can just double the recipe and make you some too." The Goblin giggles. "And I can offer suggestions for tattoos. Maybe a glaive?" Her eyebrows wiggles.
  +
  +
Slixvah shrugs. "I dunno! I'll have ta think on it!" She then snorts. "Well, fo' the most part, save for like the flyin' part!"
  +
  +
The witch bobs her head. "Oooh, curry! Yeah! I'll stay 'round and help out!"
  +
  +
She stares at Simony. Sips her tea. Places it neatly down on the table. Smiles. "Ebta fo ym ertha."
  +
  +
Her wings shudder before jutting out further a couple of feet on each side. A /lot/ of feathers start animating! "I'll show you a glaive!" she gleefully threatens.

Reads the gobbo.

"Cloistered priestess up on high, spill it. You have somethin' juicy. I /kno'/ it."

Rubbing at her cheeks more, she stands up again. "Would you like some more tea? I'm going to have more tea!" The Gobbo snatches up her mug, and licks at the final drops of her tea.

Slix's brow just raises higher and higher as Simony digs herself further into a hole. She grins. "Suuuure. 'Reeeesearch'. We'll go with that." She just snorts and shakes her head before sticking her tongue out playfully. "Nevermind indeed."

"Did I mention I was tattooing people? I uhm... was tattooing a star onto people, usually ladies, a star that was mentioned in a Crimson Pen novel about a fabulous Half-Sil sorcerer named Melaton."

She tilts her head to the side. Blinks. Then guffaws. "Oh. My. Gods. No, you /didn't/! Oh no, Tel's fanbase is gonna go /crazy/!" she giggles.

"I know they're trash, but ... I suppose that might explain it. So bad.. they're good? As for guess the adventurer, sometimes it's so obvious, the undead can figure it out."

Slix nods, taking her cup back. "Yuh. But sometimes its pretty obscure, so its half the fun!"

Maybe I'd get like... a yarnball. Yeah."

Sip. "Any other big tattoo gigs yet?"

"I've had a few small ones, but I have one big one coming up." Simony sighs gently. "I can't reveal my client's name, but it is a fairly extensive tattoo rework. It's going to be very challenging, but I think I can pull it off well."

Slixvah smiles. "Ooh nice! Sounds like ya movin' up in ya tattooin' biz! Yeah! You got thi' don' worry!"

"Sure, I can do that! What would you get, though?" Simony nods then. "I hope it does. I mean, hair and feathers serve the same purpose, mostly, so it seems to me that the magic would work on both."

Slixvah shrugs. "I dunno! I'll have ta think on it!" She then snorts. "Well, fo' the most part, save for like the flyin' part!"

The witch bobs her head. "Oooh, curry! Yeah! I'll stay 'round and help out!"

She stares at Simony. Sips her tea. Places it neatly down on the table. Smiles. "Ebta fo ym ertha."

Her wings shudder before jutting out further a couple of feet on each side. A /lot/ of feathers start animating! "I'll show you a glaive!" she gleefully threatens.

Time to do some laps around the monastery.
