It's Tariday, Quintoos 15 18:17:51 1018. The full moon is up. The tide is high and ebbing. The deep blue night sky is clear and cloudless, and the stars glitter. An icy wind blows from the northwest.

A05: Adventurer's Guild, Guild Hall

Ga'Elian is standing in front of the job notice boards, casually perusing them, but clearly his mind is elsewhere. In fact, he seems to be looking around the room more than at them.

A familiar name sent word to Ga'Elian that she was available to fulfill a contract. Aria has been doing quite a bit of business lately, operating out of the Engineer's Enclave building or her own personal workshop in her room.

She shows up on time for the arranged meet-up, blue eyes also scanning the crowded common room of the Adventurer's guild, looking for the ranger. Her senses are sharp as a golem, but it's quite likely that he'd spot her first. Like many golems, she stands out, after all.

Ga'Elian looks pleased and a little relieved as he makes his way over to Aria and says, "Good evening. Thanks for coming. I have recently come into a bit of money, and wanted to check with you about another commission. Shall we go have a seat?" He gestures to a table by the wall.

Aria nods, following Ga'Elian. "Provided the item isn't beyond my ability, I think I'll be able to accomodate you."

Ga'Elian sits and says, "Well, the thing is, I'm actually a little bit undecided. You see, I am expecting to go out on a guild job in the next several days sometime that is expected to happen in the tunnels or sewers under this City. So I am trying to decide between a pair of boots that will make city terrain (including sewers) as favorable to my skills as certain natural terrains are, but I'm afraid urban landscapes are alien to me. The other option I'm considering is to put an enchantment on my rapier here. I don't tend to use it much in battle (although I am certainly capable), but it seems like a hefty portion of magical weapons shed light like a torch when drawn, and I'm thinking a nice light might be helpful in the sewers. I can see fine in twilight, but total darkness blinds me. The thing is, I eventually want both, but my funds aren't currently ample enough. What are your thoughts?"

Aria falls silent for a few moments there, her voice thoughtful when she finally replies. "Well, I suppose I would first consider which situation happens more often. Do you often need to use your skills within urban settings? Or do you more often find yourself in dark environs? The second consideration is which problem most pressingly needs to be solved. Being unable to see is a large disadvantage, after all. Do you have spells which can rectify that?"

Aria adds a moment later, "However, if you wish for illumination, there are other items which can achieve that effect at a cheaper cost."

Ga'Elian thinks, "Well, ultimately, the cost of enchanting the rapier is going to happen anyway, but typically I delve into such places with companions who bring illumination anyway. Besides, as you say, there are cheaper light sources available. I can always pick up a sunrod until I have the coin for the rapier enchantment. Also, I find myself in cities and towns far more often than I ever expected. I guess I'll choose the boots for now. Will that work for you?"
