  • Title: Aspiring Aspire-ations, Part 4
  • GM: Whirlpool
  • Place: Placeholder
  • Summary: Short teaser, maybe 1-3 sentences, describing the scene. (This is optional; you can delete this line if you don't want it.)

Aelwyn tilts his head over and then thwaps at the goblin with his tail. "She would not be able to keep up." He rumbles, then turns towards the elf. "That is what this one has been saying." He replies to Vae, "Burn it all -" And then Fidget does exactly that, the Dragoon holding his hand up as the explosion hits the... whatever it is.

There's a crackling of knuckles, and Irshya turns a toothy grin to Aelwyn. She gestures with her trident at one of his shins. "I don't have to outrun whatever it is. I just have to outrun... you." The Goblin cackles as once more little crackles of electricity jump between the tines of her trident. The ball of flame doesn't phase her, and she slowly raises her trident into the air, somewhere in the distance, the prickle of lightning is followed by roll of thunder. "It's going to taste of Rada's wrath in a moment."

"It's not a matter of keeping up, if I had half a mind, I'd be gone from here faster than whatever that thing is could snap a stick at." Eztli huffs, shaking her head as the fireball explodes just nearby. "Well, did that work? Are they burnable? Oh by the gods, I really hope whatever they are is burnable, because I really need to vent my frustrations with this god forsaken forest at something at this point."

WHOOSH. The fireball strikes, yes, and it strikes true. IT disrupts the dust devils and their leaves, leaving embers and cinders everywhere in a flash of fire. The smell of something foul burns in your nostrils, acrid and awful. Slooooooooowly something begins to coalescene from the mists, drawing together after the blast initially seperated it. It has sometrhing of a humanoid shape. And it howls like the wind.

Aelwyn's eyes narrow, widen, and narrow again as the humanoid shape starts to become visible. "Tch, perhaps we all shall receive our chance." The draconian rumbles as the shape begins to appear from the mists. The Dragoon moves to stand in front of everyone, with his glaive held out in front of him, the blade aflame. "Halt, less we continue with more fire." The draconian calls out, in case the creature was sentient.

There is a great whinny of a horse, as Carver wheels her steed toward the great flash of light and sound. Where she had been scouting alone, relatively peaceful rangerin', it would seem that there be other plans in store for this evening. The hooves glow with ghostly light as the enchantment in the horseshoes carry them like the wind, ducking low to keep out of whipping branches and snagging thorns.

The adrenaline that pumped through her veins had become something of a regular companion here, alongside the more omnipresent fear of the unknown, but honestly?

What sort of adventurer ignores the clarion call of a fireball?

Well, that certainly livened up the evening, didn't it?

With the incendiary impulse underway, Faran scans about for any potential sources of secondary conflagrations and brings up one of her hands, fingers curled into the first of one of her arcane gestures in preparation to followup, if the....

need...

.... Oh, hi.

The eldritch Knight shakes her head with a sigh, as her ill feelings about this blighted wood are rekindled anew.

At Aelwyn's words, her hand posture changes as if reacting to his cue.

She can do fire.

With a laugh, Fidget says "I don't think I'm the one who'd have trouble keeping up, Aelwyn. I am after all, an all-powerful wizard!" She says (probably) in jest, laughing. Though she does look the part, flying above the ground in her very wizardly frills, and intoning arcane words while drawing a sigil in the air in glowing blue lines. Could be a hedgehog, probably just squiggles. But the magical effect of Haste settles on herself and her allies. "Now we can all keep up!" Fidget grins and whooshes up further into the sky. GAME: Fidget casts Haste. Caster Level: 8 DC: 20

The pale, blue Goblin wrinkles her nose at the smell wafting on the breeze. "Ewh, who died, got eaten, barfed up and died again?"

Thrusting her trident into the air, Irshya invokes her deity's name. Her hair begins to stand on end, and a rumble is heard above, followed by a bright flash of lightning, and a rolling CRACK of thunder.

"Come on, I got MORE where that came from!", the pool shark screams.

As Irshya unleashes lightening upon the foul spelling coalescence, the albino sorceress nudges dear Torrent into a sideling scuttle to open distance from her fellows in case she draws a retort, begins to cycle her hands through a particular pattern of gestures as she begins a foceful chant. Her voice takes a certain reverberation from the powers she taps into, "Ravenous warmth and piercing light, I free thee now from Order's Cage, yield yon power to mortal fight, and Unleash now thy deadly rage!" <halfling>

Her hand comes down, casting a glowing ball that erupts in a rush of bright, near-white flame.
