The call has gone out and you, you have answered it. Your reasons are your own, but each of you knows that lives are at stake, Innocent Lives. Freedom itself, and the right to self govern one's self on one's own journey has been taken from these lives and you, you few, you will be heroes and saviors today.

The light and warmth of the sun has been snuffed out by the cold, dark, grey cover of rain clouds set high above the mountain tops. The journey from the lands below to the location the Guild had given has been cold, dark, and damp. The only light that of the deep blue flashes of lightning bolts criss crossing the skys in a dance of sheer power and awe. The only sounds of nature all but entirely stamped out by the constant and ever present sound of pouring rain as it falls from the sky and lands upon the ground below.

What a day to accept a guild request, and no doubt there's no wonder the slavers are set up in a cave system inside the cave.

As you near the area indicated to you, there is little indication of other beings present, you are all alone, with nothing but each other to comfort in the rain and the thunder and the cold breeze, but yet, there are lives at stake."

An elf with blonde hair walks her way up the trail and doesn't really seem to mind the rain at all. In fact, she seems to enjoy it. "Mmmm....at least it's not cold rain." She says to almost no one in particular.....until a white tiger with gold stripes pads its way close to her. "No, Aurora...I can't keep you from getting wet. I'll dry you when we get back." The tiger lets out a rumble as it peers into the cave....sniffing at the ground.

The redheaded human, Dax, was just talking to someone about slaves when the Adventurer's Guild put up a post about slaves. She waited around till one of the counter folks read to her the request. And Dax even knew the mountain pass from the few days now she'd been hunting after bandits with ale. Gathering up with the others, Dax is reaching into a pouch as soon as the darkness comes and taps a little crystal stone till it starts wrapping around her head and body, floating about and creating light equivalent to a torch.

"Ahhh, my eyes ain't use'ta all this dark." Dax has her bow slung over her shoulder, a quiver of arrows, and her claws that are always on her. Looking at the cave entrance, she sort of looks to the other folks who accepted this quest, "So, from wha' the fella at ta guild was sayin'. We are takin' down ta folks who slavin' and wha' else?" She didn't get that far before she headed off from the guild. Her hand moves up into her tightly braided locks, her face is drenched, her clothing is probably very wet on the inside, and she's drinking a little ale from a wineskin to keep warm.

Molly has arrived.

Accompanying the team is a quiet obelisk. The guild called her Whuridred, and while friendly enough, she hasn't actually spoken. The bag on her back squirms as the rain beats on it, the thick material staving off most of the moisture. Leaning to peer around the corner of the cave she tilts her head up so she can see under the brim of her large mushroom-shaped hat. Straightening she offers Dax a shrug with palms up. She reaches a hand over her shoulder to rummage in her sack and pulls out a glass mason jar. Giving it a good shake a small humanoid creature inside begins to glow red in anger. It chatters mean spiritedly before sitting down.

Soup has arrived.

Molly came! She came!! She's finally going on an adventure that she was actually invited to and didn't have to defy instructions to be there. And she's completely no excited about it or anything because she's a professional, and she's definitely not breaking out into a big grin every time nobody's looking that she has to suppress rapidly every time. "So, uhm," the half-mul inquires, taking her glaive to hand and resting it on one shoulder. "I'll just be standing behind you lot most of the time, yes? ...Anyone have any idea what we're all up to here, anyway? The summons just said lives were at stake. Couldn't ignore *that*."

"Ooooooooh, there once was a Knight who rode to the fight on the back of his steed Malfeasance!" The Gnomish knight sings as he plays a lute and rides the massive for it's nature, Dire Corgi which barks as the sound of it's name. "They rode all day, they rode all night. First to battle, first to fight. There was no challenge too great or small, though sometimes there were shelves far too tall! For Knight and his steed Malfeasance!" Arf Arf! goes the dog. Shifting on his mount's back the Gnome peers into the darkness and wiggles his large nose. "Oyo, down into the bit aye? Be a good time to get out of this rain." He shakes his lute. "It's starting to lose the right tune, and soon my riding boon will be soaked and smelling up the room." Soup reaches up and drops his visor. "To Glory! To victory! To getting paid!"

KaKrackleBooom....It's loud, close, at most 30 feet away from you, and bright. Lightning streaks through the sky and plants itself directly in the insides of a near by tree. The tree itself, nearly ceases to exist as the sheer power and force of a lightning bolt blows it apart and sets it alight sending hundreds of wooden pieces rocketing around the area.

The Storm is getting worse. You have precious little time to make your entrance to the cave, or risk battling out the downpour, the lightning, and the wind outside it with little shelter aside from the cave itself.

Sorscha smiles and gently pats the tiger at her side. "Come on Aurora. you're leading the way, as am I." She says before drawing her sword and starts to walk her way in. She says looking behind her. "Stick together. Don't want you to get shot at by another member of the group."

There's a little glowing stone circling Dax and creating light for her so she doesn't, you know, have to carry a torch. And it doesn't go out with the water. The human smirks at the little spinning stone and shakes her head, "Tha' guy at ta shop was right. It is pretty handy..." She chuckles a bit as she turns to head up toward the cave and the silent wild elf. The gnome on the other hand gets a good hearty hit to his back, a few times, "Tha's a fine song. Ya kno' ta one about ta maiden wit' hair on ta boat to the... fair, an' fer some reason she gets captured by some pirates, an' I think she ends up marryin' one of 'em by ta end." She confuses herself and shakes her head, "No, it ain't tha', it's more she gets captured an' enslaved, havin' ta do chores fer her mom an' sistahs." And then she scritches at the side of her head, "Blasted rain makin' it hard ta think." And she just finishes her trek, calling out to Whu, "Ya see sometin'?" Lit up and walking toward a cave. Then there's lightning, and so close, and Dax turns and starts jogging toward the entrance, "Fer fuck sakes!"

Whuridred lifts a dark iron hand to give a gesture of halt. Pulling the hand before her face she offers up a series of gestures. First a finger to her lips for silence. Second, she cups her hand about her ear before hiking her thumb back at the cave entrance. She sets the jar down on the ground so she can pull a mass of braided twine and an angry curved sickle off her belt. She motions for those remaining to avoid the entrance unless they are ready. She makes notches in the mud to show how many she thinks are within. A small picture follows. Simple lines showing the cave entrance. Some of them hiding on either side of the cave, and one standing far out in front of it.

Molly just about jumps out of her skin at the tree-murdering lightning strike, and then nearly jabs the nearest tree with her glaive. "Hi-ya... thought that was an evil green electricity wizard there, nevermind it's fine." she thinks, perhaps, that she should just put the thing away for now, and slings it across her back for the moment. She's just about to rush into the cave to as not to get more wet, when someone is drawing pictures, so she draws up short to check them out instead.

The Gnomish knight tilts his head as Dax speaks. Then so does the Corgi, the pair staring at the woman in confusion. "I see." Soup finally says. "Well I think perhaps the time for song has a bit past. We go into a cave and those noises carry. Hoy?" The Corgi pants and nods it's head then 'arfs' very quietly. It's tail wagging as it rises to it's feet with Soup leaning over the saddle to watch Whuridred. Finally he prepares his shield and lance and edges the Dire Corgi forward after Sorscha.

Dax gets to the cave entrance and takes a step inside to get out of the rain and hopefully where the lightning is going to strike. "Ya drawin'? At a time like this?" Dax looks to Whuridred and shakes her head, waving in the direction of where the lightning exploded a tree! And she's stating, "A tree explodin', witches are probably afoot, an' ya... wha? Squigglin' in ta mud?" Pulling forward her Orcish claws, pretty easily, she's got her weapons ready and she's waiting for the others to get to the cave.

Whuridred looks at her companions and then lets her head drop and gives it a shake. Her shoulders rise and fall in a silent sigh. Surprise may be her only option. Seemingly becoming a bag of junk on the back of tiger, she goes limp. Her myriad of robes and baskets filling out the requirements for any odd assortment of loot adventurers might come upon.

Molly shrugs her shoulders emphatically. "A bunch of 'em in there," she observes with a nod. "But, we can't just stay out there. We have to go in, yeah?" She unsheaths her glaive once more, but stays behind the people who are bigger and more armored and all that. "Don't worry, I've got your back!"

Halanaestra has left.

Halanaestra has arrived.

Sorscha walks her way forward, not the stealthytype, but she is trying to figure out where everyone is....outside of her party. "Lemme know if you guys hear anything, okay?"

"I ain't 'eard nothin' except tha' bolt of fiery death explodin' tha' tree." Dax stays at the entrance of the Cave, allowing the more well armored Sorscha to lead the way. She too is definitely not a stealthy type, not even when it comes to just how loud her mouth is and she shakes her head a bit, getting some of the water out of it as her hair whips from side to side, and then she throws the strands back behind her head, and turns to follow Sorscha in further, if that's where she's going.

From her place on the tiger's back, Whuridred does her best not to move. Not being human helps. She uses her fingers to put pressure on the sides of the tiger, hoping it will listen better than its master. Her pressure points much like a rider's, trying to move the tiger to someplace a bit more useful to popping out in surprise where the slaver's wouldn't expect it.

Molly isn't going first, that's for certain. Even if she is wearing a breastplate under her overcoat. "Just, let's not go in there and immediately murder whatever happens to be waiting for us," she requests. "I mean, we're here because lives are at stake, and don't know who's or why, yeah? So let's be a little bit circumspect?" She walks along with the group of course, and she'll be the last to enter. Just so some stealthy rogue can shiv her in the kidneys, because of course that would happen.

"Why don't you let me scount up ahead." A voice comes from a red-haired Sylvanori that is approaching with a staff in hand from behind. She raises a slender, pale hand to hesitate to anyone that might think her an enemy. "Taleth Raloren an I am a friend." Her vestments adorn colorful flowers, leaves and feathers that also adorn some of her braids. At that, she throws up another hand and with a flash of emerald light shifts to a bat that flies off down the tunnel.

The storm over your heads continues to beat down on you, though it seems to be slowly subsiding for the time being. The sky itself continues to showcase a varitable fireworks show of blue flashes and distant rumbling thunder.

And this guy's just 'threatening' someone instead of attacking? She moves right up to the guy and she goes to swing right over Molly's head, almost slicing her head off but only gets a few hairs. Sorscha.....seriously DONE with slavers taking hostages, suddenly does something compeltely different......and puts out a shrill whistle.

a LOUD roar can be heard from the doorway as Aurora, the white and gold striped tiger, leaps from the doorway and bites down on the arm that has the blade to Molly's neck, and pulls the dagger away from her neck....

....Just in time for Sorscha to run forward and plunge her sword into the chest of the slaver. "I'm DONE talking to you stupid fucks. You had the chance to go away and change your life. Instead you decided to endanger another life for your greed. Vardama can see to your stupid ass." And she withdraws her blade.

Once that's finished...she turns towards one of the slaves and puts a hand upon her. "Blessed Lady, this one requires your mercy...." She says as she puts her hand on the female half-orc.

Whuridred keeps dragging her catch. Once near the slave she finds another slave ring to hook this guy to. Once secure she finds something a bit more heavy duty. She rummages around dead bodies until she finds a key. Some chains and cuffs for the netted slaver. Can't let this guy go while the others tend the wounded. Once locked up, she pats him on the head. she signs. <But just so you knoe, I keep my promises>.

GAME: Halanaestra rolls 1d10: (7): 7

is not having the best day on her first 'official' adventure. When she's brought in with the knife to her throat she really just looks more embarassed than anything else; even with the blood trickling down her throat and the abject terror that causes, she manages to still look a bit more like she just accidentally set someone's robes on fire. "I--" she gets started, but then her companions already have the problem taken care of; there's a tiger practically mauling the man's arm off. "...Are you... YOU COULD HAVE KILLED ME!!" is her immediate reaction. She backs away rapidly from the tiger, lifting a hand to rub at her throat where she got poked.

Then Molly steps forwards, and delivers a swift boot to the man's ribs, "And that's for touching a woman where you shouldn't!" she shouts, followed by another, "And that's for taking slaves in the first place!" followed by a further kick "And that's for what you said about my Mother!" and then there's one more, "That's for... for... YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S FOR!"

There's no negotiations with a person who is used to living on a ship and being the 'brute' of sorts for invasions. Dax was one of those people, fighting off pirates, fighting to land a ship at a contested port. Fighting in bars. She is The Kraken, at least as far as her crew was concerned. Using her leather sleeve she wipes blood off of her face, as Sorscha and her tiger rip the last slaver to pieces. "Alright..." She says rubbing her hands together and smirking, and starts walking back into the Slaver's area to see if there's anything like food. She does swig off of her wineskin that's filled with ale, though she doesn't yet go to free the slaves, instead she kind of kicks the leader a little, testing his deadness.

The Female Half Orc? The one that just got laid on hands? Yeah, that one. She pipes up to Sorscha, "Zora" she says in tradespeak, softly, and somewhat horse. "Thank you" she adds, no doubt this is actually meant for all of the ladies, even and including Molly. She slowly tries to sit up, though she is still bound, and starts pointing at each slave in turn. "Female Human there is Eleana, we think she's a Paladin of some sort" she adds, moving down the line. "The male halflings are brothers, that one is Gery and that one is Bery, Merchants." She lets out a few coughs and continues, "Male half orc there is Rolad, the dwarf is Thurd, the male half orc is my brother Jaran and that one, the male human, is Erabor." One more pause to cough, "Lastly, those two" and she points at the Female Elves, "They're run aways, that one is Eletha and the other is called Halana." Though, said two runaways are pretty much unconcious on the ground and the worse for ware for being runaways.

"Molly!" Sorscha yells to Molly. "We have more important things to worry about than petty revenge, like saving slaves lives. And I need your expertise." She says as she returns to helping the one she was healing. She also takes a dagger and cuts the lady's bonds. "No need to speak yet. We haven't left this place yet. We need to get you back to Alexandria."

Aurora, the tiger, is still standing over the now dead corpse....and roars another time...as if to say 'GET UP! I'M NOT DONE KILLING YOU!'

Whuridred goes about unlocking chains, dragging bodies to a central location, and general usefulness. With Molly there, she didn't need to do any healing. Not exactly her forte. Of course all this body relocation is right in front of her hostage. Once she is done she squats down beside them and absently prods one of the corpses with her sickle. Like she was looking for the soft spot.

GAME: Whuridred rolls intimidate: (11)+0: 11

Molly looks like she's about to kick the guy again, but holds off -- especially since the tiger is roaring. Also the tiger is bigger than her. Also the tiger just ripped off some guy's arm. Also the tiger is a tiger.

"Say that next time you have a knife to your throat," the half-mul grumbles, but Sorscha makes an excellent point. She moves back into the cavern properly, and takes a moment to gaze back and forth between the assembled slaves, taking a quick assessment. She draws for the simple metal token she carries; a symbol of the deity, Navos. "By Navos' mercy, be healed," she whispers; the effect is considerably more flashy as she holds the symbol aloft and a burst of light radiates outwards, healing the wounds of those who suffer the most grievously.

GAME: Molly rolls 2d6: (8): 8

Just kind of cleaning off her claws, there's nothing really that can be done, though Dax does look at her back again and she mentions, "Can I get some healin' too?" She wonders, and points to her back, and kind of snorts a bit, letting out a bit of a huff, "I can even carry somethin' if needed tha' way." Nodding her head over in the direction of the unconscious elves, "Jus' gotta be tip top ya know?" And then molly comes back over exasperated, and Dax kind of walks over to her, "Ya did well, an' ya thinkin' ya can 'elp me like I did ya?" Dax smiles to the other woman, blood kind of along her face and breastplate, and in her hair... and then she's healed up. "An'... good work." She pats Molly on the back a few times, before going back to the corner she was at.

Ga'Elian has arrived.

The call went out. You answered it.

Not only did you answer it, but you succeeded. Today, you are heroes, you are saviors. You are victorious. You now have a total of ten slaves, men and women from various races and backgrounds that oh their lives to you all. No doubt the coming hours will be just as rough though, as they are all sickly and not well cared for. For those checking, there are horses and carts hidden near by outside the caves that also have the gear that was taken from each slave.

As you all exit, your fellows in hand and the lives you have made a difference in, you are greated by sun shine, fading clouds, and the sounds of nautre on a summers day. Congratultaions.
