Yet Another Call for Help

The goblin village for some is becoming an easy place to find. This is the third time they have called for help and the adventurers will arive at the city at the oddest scene. The goblis are all sitting on their roofs having tea. They are chatting among each other rather pleasently and seeming to be doing well. The roofs are scattered with living items, such as beds, blankets, and cooking supplies. One goblin see's the party as thy approach and waves, "Our saviors are back!"

The roofs are scattered with living items, such as beds, blankets, and cooking supplies. One goblin see's the party as thy approach and waves, "Our saviors are back!"

Sasha walks her way into the town and waves to the goblins. "What happened this time?" And she pointedly looks for the elder. "And give us all the details please."

Olek goes to the goblin village. Because the Guild is going to pay him gold for helping out. He doesn't much care for goblins, by the scowl on his face, but then, he doesn't seem to much like anyone. He'll let the others do the talking.

Sucking on a bit of straw as they reach the village, Viranchi lifts a hand to shield his eyes as the goblin cries out. "Always something new here." The Veyshan chuckles too the others as a small cat scampers up to him.

Aznara follows along, the hood of her cape up over her head... to shade her face from the daylight as she walks along after the others. She says nothing, being as Sasha's taking the lead in conversing with the rooftop goblin teaparty-goers. It does seem that the goblins are on their roofs for their own safety, though, so she casts her eyes about the village itself, to try and spot what might've chased the villagers out of, and atop, their homes.

Aznara looks up out from under the hood of her cape... and right into the sun as it peeks out from behind a cloud. Turning her head and lifting a hand to block the sun from her face, she just stops and stands still where she is, blinking her eyes a few times after being blinded by the suddenness of the sunlight.

Stomping up behind everyone else comes the loud and obvious form of Bor, taking a look around to get a better understanding of his surroundings, and making sure that nothing is sneaking up on the group. Once he's caught up with the group, he'll pause, and listen in on the conversation already happening.

The gobilns are all getting up on their feet. "Ummm" offers the elder looking a bit worried, embaressed, and cautious. "Well you see... to test our brews and all that, we need you know things to test them on. We were using mice and all, and well, I guess we mixed the wrong growth formula in with the firebreathing formula, in with the extra heavy formula. We are calling them Roadents Of Unusual Mass. They also breath fire. They seem content to hide in the houses and squeak. Not really all that aggressive, just don't want to leave. So umm... can you take care of our mouse problem?"

"Rodents of Unusual Mass?!..." Grumbles the Giantborn, "...can't ever be, drink all of our ale, because we have too much." Shaking his head, he looks to the others, before speaking to the Goblin, "Aye, I'll help clean out your rodent problems...." Taking in the fact the Goblin is on the roof, Bor asks, "They just in this house here? Or do you need help elsewhere in the village?"

Olek ehs at the request. "Kill a bunch of rats? Sounds easy enough." He unlimbers his dwarven waraxe and shoulders his shield, and squares off to face one of the tents. "All right, rats, you're gonna get such a kicking!"

One of the goblins speaks up, "We some ale you can have if you want, but its ummm kinda experimental. The last person who drank it turned pink, then, green, then blue, well he shifted through colors for a week!" another speaks up, "Don't kill squeekers! He is a friendly mouse who likes to nibble on cheese." The elder shake shis head, "We will get you a new mouse if they feel it is best to kill the mice. We just need them out of the houses is all, not really dead per say. We shall let the heros decide." Sasha looks up to Bor. "One time a few gnomes did that....and it killed them. So be careful what you wish for."

Chuckling in response to the Goblin, Bor replies, "Well, I've not changed colors before... might be something worth dealing with if the Ale is good enough." Looking to the Elder, and then back to the group, he asks the others "Think we can catch them? Guess we can take a look, and see how hard it might be?..." but stops in mid thought at Sasha's warning. "Eh? Killed them? Like drank themselves to death, or had a bad batch of Goblin Ale?"

Sasha says, "and they drank one mug.....and they died, Bor. Then came back to life to attack the goblins here....""

"Posts are never right for this town.." Viranchi mumbles with slight grin. As his feline companion gives a curious cry, the Veyshan sighs with sudden realization as he echos, "Roadents.. of unusual mass that breath fire." Drawing a rapier from its sheath as a few of his companions arm themselves, he nods slightly before saying, "Do we know about how many?"

Sasha takes a deep breath at the elder. "How many...as Viranchi said.

Aznara, still blinking her eyes and keeping her hand up to shade her face, even with her hood up, says, "... perhaps we can smoke them out with torches or the like? Although... larger than usual mice that can breathe fire might not be good to allow into the wild to propagate."

Letting out a long sigh, at both Sasha and the Elder, Bor shakes his head "No, I don't think it'll be a good idea to let them run around, and threaten everything else around here..." nodding in agreement with Aznara's assessment, "...Unless you think you can shrink them back down?" Bor asks as he looks back to the Elder. "I'm not the blood thirsty type, but I don't think chancing a child to come across them, and they think the child is dinner is the right thing either."

Olek is poking into one of the huts now, looking for oversized rats. "C'mon," he says, "I've got a /present/ for you." The present is the dwarven waraxe now cocked back on his shoulder.

The elder holds up four fingers. "Oh we are pretty certain they are steril... at least they were." As Olek peers into one of the houses he see's a mouse as big as him nibbling on some cheese, it see him, lets out a very friendly squeek and starts to walk towards him. Each step shaking the earth and leaving large cracks in the floor.

Olek looks back over his shoulder as he says, "Is this the one you wanted to keep alive or one of the ones you want exterminated?" He shifts his grip on the axe haft as he backs slowly, to see if it will follow him into the open.

Sasha blinks at Olek. "Did you find one?" She says wandering her way over towards him.....

One of the children goblins speaks up, "None of them, they are my pets!!" the mother goblin lets out a sigh, "They were his, but yea, we have a pen where we put our animals at that get... side effects. If you could lure them there, they will be safe, fed, secure."

Aznara also follows over to where Olek's found one, although, now that she's blinked the sun-smear out of her field of vision, she's also looking out for other mice. She pulls her furled-up whip from its hangar on her belt and carries it in her hand -- just in case.

Whistling at the sight (and sound) of the ROUM, Bor nods his head slowly, "Right then... let's see if we can get them going in the right direction..." Looking around, Bor adds, "...might be useful if we had a bit of cheese or food to keep them moving along."

"The hell..?" Viranchi sputters in surprise as the earth shakes from the rodents movements, "Four.. of those.". Raising his blade slightly as Olek attempts too lead one, he calls to the others curiously, "Who's got cheese to spare..?"

Olek grumbles at his erstwhile allies. "You idiots are making this harder than it needs to be," he says sourly. But he'll try and lead the oversize rat back to the place where they've said they want him.

"Point me to the pen to which you'd like your ROUMs led", Aznara calls up to the elder. "I'll man the gate to it whilst the others seek the other mice?", she suggests.

Sasha looks up to the son and ponders. "Ma'am? can he come down? Maybe they'll react more favorably to him and follow him, since they're his pets." She then looks to Olek. "Come on. If they're friendly, I'd rather not make them angry."

All the goblins point west. "That way, can't miss the trail!" The goblin mom looks nervous, "Uhh we have peanut butter you can have instead, they love that more then cheese."

"I'll gladly take some peanut butter, and see how this goes..." Bor says to the Goblins, reaching up his long arms for whatever they've got on hand. Looking around to the group, Bor asks, "Do we want to try doing one at a time? Or each of us try to grab one of the four that's out there?"

Aznara, hearing how far the pens are... and about the peanut butter, moves over to the door of the next nearest house, and peeks in. She's looking to see if there's another ROUM in this place, before she simply walks into search for peanut butter.

The mouse seems to be quickly losing interest in Olek, but then Sasha steps in and it starts to move faster, and the ground shakes more. The mouse crashes out the door, bursing it open and causing the house to fall behind it. Five goblins fall and and eup on top fo the rubble with some light moans of pain, "Owie..." but will be ok. Azanara finds another mouse, that glances up to her, and stares at her. Then lets out a burp of small flames, they can breath fire, but only a very small amount of it.

"I've found another", Aznara calls back over her shoulder. "uhm.... here, mousie-mousie?", she says, making a 'come hither' sort of gesture with the hand in which she's holding her whip. She's a 'city girl', really, and hasn't got any idea how to handle an animal that isn't already trained.

Nodding at the mothers words, Viranchi wanders over towards one of the other houses before replying, "If you say so.." As the jar gets thrown down the Veyshan pauses his advance while calling out with a chuckle, "How many more of those you got up there? I'm down for a run."

Olek will boop his on the snout to regain its interest. Not even a smack, just a push to remind it to be interested in him. But then Sasha has it's attention, and he shrugs and looks for more of the rats.

Seeing that Sasha seems to have a handle on this to some degree, he moves in her direction, and gives her the peanut butter he just received, "This might help a bit... I'll keep an eye on it though, and if it get's too much we can make a run to the pen, and I'll try to stay between it and you."

Sasha smiles to the mouse and gently pets it. 'Come on." She says picking up the peanut butter. "I'll give you a treat if you follow me." She says walking her way towards the pen.

The mouse Aznara intimidates squeeks and turns around running away, right through the house wall! It crashes out and runs right through a third house as if the walls were nothing. The last two mice were in that house and go chasing after the first one. They are heading west in the right direction at least. Then the stop, and sniff the air, turning their attention slowly towards Bor and the peanut butter he has. Viranchi is thrown a thing of peanut butter as well, which also gets one of the mouse attention. The mouse Olek boops on the nose turns towards him and gives him a squeek and then pushes up to nuzzle him rather affectionalty while trying to lick his face.

Aznara's mouse... pretty well ignores her, and she pouts a bit. Then, she steps fully into that house's doorway and stamps her foot, saying to the mouse, "Now listen here, you silly flea-bitten rodent! You're making a mess of things and the lady of the house is going to be -very- upset and will probably ground the child whose pet you are! You come with me -right now- and follow me to the pen or someone's going to be in a LOT of trouble!" She even points the finger of her free hand at the mouse, then out of the house. "C'mon! Out!", she adds.... then the mouse flees and leaves a hole in the wall. "Well... that didn't work...", she adds, quietly. Then the mice are smelling the peanut butter and she calls out, "Uhm... these THREE mice... they've caught wind of that nut butter you're carrying!"

Olek sighs heavily. Well, if it's gonna nuzzle him, he'll just back down towards where they want these critters, and if it wants to follow him, that's just dandy. "C'mon, you fleabag," he says, not bothering to hide his impatience with the rat. "C'mon down to this place or I'll cut you in half. Lengthwise." Hopefully they haven't also been given the ability to understand Tradespeak.

The mouse follows after Olek, not seeming to understand a word he is saying.

"Hrm..." Bor grunts, "...well, we might want to start moving in the right direction now..." as his height gives him an advantage to notice the many ROUM looking in their direction, "Looks like we've drawn most of the attention, and might have more than we want..." Looking back to the Elder, he asks, "You're sure the gate will hold them? They've run through your houses like they weren't even there..."

The elder nods, "Well it is more like a pit then it is a cage..."

Fumbling to catch the jar while mowing over a planted bush, Viranchi gives a triumphat chuckle before turning to view the sudden rodent entrances. "That way, yeh?" He calls out too the others, pointing west with the jar, as he begins moving that way. All the while his cat begins to hiss slightly, backing away slowly from the oversized mice.

Olek will lead the rats to the designated pit. If the rat follows him there, he'll try to scamper around behind it and shove it in.

Sasha looks over to the Elder. "is it possible they'll return to normal? And....for all you know, they could be really good pets."

The elder nods, "we think so, given a few weeks. Sadly our village would not surive that long..." The party will be able to lead the pit, which is a very large hole dug into the ground at least 100ft across and twenty feet down. The mice after bors and viranchi will be charging at full speed offering thuds and quakes along the way. trees will fall over, the entire village will find nearly every building collapsing in their wake. The mice though will stop at the pit refusing to go in, at least at first. As they stand along the edge the ground will start to give way under their massive weight and they will all go crashing into the pit. The vilage elder continues as he walks up, "Looks like it did not survive this long either! Time to rebuild!"

When Olek tried to push a mouse he wuold find it was like pushing a marble statue, a very heavy one and could not budge the mouse before it went tumbling in.

Sasha says, "As long as the mice aren't hurt....or killed." She says to the elder. "You seem to relish rebuilding your town too.""

Olek hrmphs. As long as it goes in, he doesn't care much one way or the other. He'll go to try and help the others.

Quickly making his way to the Pit, Bor tries to draw as much attention to himself as possible, and once the ROUM are in then he'll take a few nearby branches to cover in Peanut Butter. Once he's got them slathered up, he'll throw them into the pit, "As long as you think you've got them under control in there,.." Bor adds to the Elder.

Aznara never even unfurled her whip. "This is a long way from boat-burning demons...", she says quietly, as if speaking to herself. With all four ROUMs in the pit, she rehangs her whip on her hip and finds something to sit down on or lean back against that won't fall apart underneath her, like all the village's houses just did.

The elder nods, 'Of course we are! This means we can try out a whole new batch of potions and slaves we had been consider. Instant tree house formula, tree tokens that have rooms in them, all sorts of stuff!"

Olek sighs heavily at goblin optimism. "Good luck with that. You're gonna need it."

Having tumbled and sprinted his way ahead of the mice before chucking his jar into the pit with a jump to the side, Viranchi leans down for a moment or two, catching his breath. As the cat peers into the pit, the Veyshan glances over to the elder before chuckling, "Not the kind to get down eh?"

Sasha chuckles. "Gotta stay positive, hmm? For all you know.....you might have new mounts here...."

The mice are happily nibbling at peanut butter down in the pit. The goblin elder shakes his head, "Hardly, no need to hurt them or anything. We are not monsters." Just mad scientiest. The elder glances to Viranchi, "There is an opertunity in everything, as my daddy taught me." then his eyes go wide as he looks to the mice, "Oh......." the wheels in his head clearly turning.
