-=--=--=--=--=--=-<* A05: Adventurer's Guild, Guild Hall *>--=--=--=--=--=--=-

As the phoenix is Alexandria's national symbol, so too has its Explorer's Guild, often called the Adventurer's Guild, risen from the ashes of its destruction.

Guards and mercenaries fill the interior of this huge building, one of the largest in its immediate area. Strong, metal walls divide its interior, crafting halls, briefing rooms and offices. A large space near the front has been set aside for mingling and stocked with comfortable charis to wait in.

This area is catered by one of the Society of Arcanists' more famous chefs, a small lucht with a predilection for otherworldly cuisine and tentacle soup. Security here is as tight as it is anywhere in Alexandria, even more so now after its recent destruction. Sharp eyed sentinels and guards are ever-watchful and all manner of security contraption is said to be residing within the walls of the building. The walls are pristine for now, though not for long, and artfully decorated with murals depicting heroic adventure by members of all communities and races of the region.

The windows to the Guild are now stained glass, artfully decorated to depict famous moments in Alexandrian history, ranging from the death of Altima at the hands of the Phalanx Falcis at the end of the Sorceress Wars, to the city triumphantly emerging from the Mists to a changed world. Many spaces have been set aside for new stories to be added, with numerous tale yet to be written.

No matter how many times the Guild has been rebuilt, the statue in the front remains the same: a lone warrior facing off against what is presumably thought to be 'Cuddles the Otyugh Queen', with the Guild's motto, below: Anything for the right price.

Mocharaos is here, early in the morning. The Sith'makar dressed in various leathers as she stands next to one of the offical tables where paperwork is done and one becomes an adventurer. Or at least registers as being one in town. She chitters along, talking with the person as she finishes up the required bits and steps away. An offical adventurer, and a new one at that as she hefts her wooden shield in one hand and looks for a place to sit.

Mikilos wanders his way down from the upper rooms, which is a slightly impressive feat, as the elf is reading all the while from a rather large text. Perhpas even more eye catching is that said text floats along on it's own, keeping pace with the reader and dodging the various people in the way, not that there are too many about at the early hour. Stepping down onto the main floor, Mikilos makes his way to the benches along the wall, and takes a seat, never taking his eyes off his reading.

Mocharaos eyes the multiudes of adventurers that are here, Mikilos among them as she finds a place at a wooden table to sit. Already there is another next to her, ordering up one of the most vile dishes on the menu for her, some prank on the new people as she gives a 'bleh!' looking around to the others for an escape.

Mikilos blinks, and perks up, peering towards the dining table. "Is that a batch of fresh Artic Worms? I thought they were all out. No no, they're supposed to still wiggle, that's how you know they're fresh." The elf idly shuts his book, tucking it into his pack as he moves closer, eyeing the platter of wiggeling powder-blue worms.

Mocharaos gives a look over towards Mikilos for a moment, a frown and a little disgust on her features before she says "No, do not want worms, arctic or otherwise." Making a scene no doubt attracts the attentions of other more experienced adveturers. "If you want them, be my guest. I do not cure self-induced poisons."

Mikilos chuckles. "No, they're only toxic once they go bad. Which is to say, after they die. Actually help to clear your system when they're still fresh. Is like a breath of very fresh air with every bite." The elf grabs a few, cheerfully poping them in his mouth and chewing. "There's really no flavor, as they're actually made of air themselves. So do be sure to chew fully before you swallow, or can give yourself a tummy ache."

Mocharaos eyes Mikilos with suspicion for a few moments, watching him eat a few before she grabs one with the tips of her claws. She eyes him again before taking a careful bite of it.She grinds it up with her teeth, chewing on it, cautious.

Mikilos does not lie. At least, not in this case. The small worms have virtually no flavor, but give the sensation of cold refreshing air swirling around. The texture leaves a bit to be desired, and the wiggeling would stop more than a few. But so far as extra-planar bugs go, these are fairly plesant to put in your mouth.

Mocharaos frowns for a few moments, "I think I will stick with my own foods." she says simply enough, gently pushing the rest of the plate towards Mikilos. A moment and she motions with a hand towards where she had been signing up. "Just registered for the guild. Looking to find work."

Mikilos nods, and takes a few more worms. Not the sort of thing to be consumed in mass anyway. "Lots of work to be had, though may take a little while for them to get you into the system. It's dangerous work, wouldn't want ot assign you soemthing too hard and you end up killed. Nobody benifits from that. I take it you're new to the city?"

Mocharaos gives a nod. "That is right. Mocharaos. Mocha for those who have trouble." shes a pale blue skin color as she says "I have already visited my temple, and brought sacrafices. My tribe had been notified of my safe arrival. With my obligations complete, I can finally spend a little time to look at the city."

Mikilos grins, and bows in a formal sort of way. "Mikilostravia Abrioudelanarchie Mithralla, or Mikilos for those who have trouble. I've made Alexandros my home for many a year now, though I've somewhat retired to keep my shop up on the mountain side. Which temple do you favor?"

Mocharaos gives a faint grin. "Milo." she says, "My name is really just a draconic contraction, 'Little Lightning'. But, I tend to the grove of Gilead, on call to tend the sick and wounded, and watch the stars to predict fortune and weather."

Mikilos nods, one hand absently moving to the pendant around his neck, the symbol akin to the mark of the dead god of magic, Animus. "I'm just named after ancient ancestors. I visit most of the temples, but usually for a project of one sort or another, I don't really claim any as my own. I'm a magus of the fifth circle, and specialize in the creation of magical items. Though I keep myself busy with a fair number of non-magic crafts as well."

Mocharaos nods, she looks, rather young for one of her species as she says "I only know how to call on nature for help of the first circle. Not quite to the same level you are I'm afraid." She clenches her fingers for a moment then says "That does sound pretty nice though. I'll have to remember that, maybe find a way to enchant my sling with sleep or something."

Mikilos chuckles and nods. "To be fair, I'd guess I've a century or so of experience over you. Time is a great equalizer, and perhaps someday I'll be calling upon you for assistance. But do feel free to drop by the shop, it's open for any who care to take a look. The workshop itself is also open at a small fee for those who prefer to do their own enchanting."

Mocharaos gives a little nod. "Maybe, but, from small acorns, mighty oaks grow strong." she says. Well, maybe she dosn't really look strong. Surely not what most adventurers look for in strong! "But, I'll come visit soon. Might see more there."

Mikilos nods again. "You said you've already been to the Grove? I don't venture out perhaps as much as I should. Seems is always something or another to finish up first, and then the hour is late, or the weather bad... I really should make a point of going more often."

Mocharaos shakes her head, "Not the Druids Grove, Gileas's. There is quite a bit of greenery there, it's like a grove. Peaceful in a good sort of way." she gets a load of bread and dried meat to go for herself. "Intrested in wandering for a bit then?"

Mikilos shakes his head. "Sadly, I can't just now. I need to head back to the workshop and finish up a project that's been curing. I may head out once that's all wrapped up, however, and perhaps see you there."

Mocharaos gives a nod, "Maybe in a bit then." she says with a warm grin, bread and dried meats brough to her eventually. Theres a little bit of news of fresh meat at the guild, someone new just signed up.

Mikilos grabs a couple more Artic Worms (an extra-planar treat from the plane of Air... they're a cross of tofu and fresh mountain air, looking a bit like blue mealworms) and pops them in his mouth before disappearing. Really disappearing. No smoke, no pop, no flash of light, just one moment there, the next, gone. Wizards.
