<OOC> Rayne re: I will say my prp's tend to have a way to be solved without combat. So depending on how you take your actions will chart the prp.

<OOC> Rhar doesn't mind.

You all elected to go and look into the small fishing village where the were creatures were said to be ... The city promises a good reward to you should you manage to rid the infection before it spreads. You are given provisions and a map but nothing further.

<OOC> Rayne says, "lorien we were talking about allowing Altar his silver Mase even though he dose not have it yet via code. Do you mind?"

<OOC> Lorien says, "I do not mind."

Lorien is with the group which has arrived. He of course like usual carries his rifle on the shoulder-strap and seems to be more well-equipped than usual under his cloak which folds along his silken clothing and the armor which rests about it. The youth heaves a sigh. Werebeasts? He runs fingers about at the symbol of Eluna on his weapon, and then kisses a locket. He glances at the map the others have? Whichever!

<OOC> Rayne says, "pose as you can or want. Corra will join when she can."

Creatures, rewards, rid. Rhar doesn't care much about those. Well, she does about the creatures. And the village with people that need help. So She and Gurr and out with others to go see and smell what's going on. It's another new pack! Yay pack!

Corra is looking forward to something like this even if they aren't exactly what they where said to be, it proves to be an interesting quest. She doesn't have any problems with maps and moving through the wilds, "I can guide if you need me to."

Altar travels mostly in silence. He makes quite a bit of noise moving around in his armor, and being made of metal, but he doesn't have much to say. Those who have traveled with him before may notice that the mace attached to his waist is slightly shinier than it used to be. Upon arriving in the village, he looks around for local people. "I'm certain we will need your skills Corra, they often prove invaluable. Perhaps first we should talk to the local leader to see if they know anything useful?"

Lorien seems to be waiting, mostly, as he gives a nod and waits for the map-reading.

WereBats - WereRats... its a fun little chant to keep you busy as you move along. With Corra as a guide you make it to the village by sunset. The sun is disappearing over the horizon and it will not be long for darkness to engulf the town. One fisherman is on the pier but most of the vendors are getting off the streets.

Corra cocks her head to the side as they arrive, "So where do you think we should start? More than likely they are about to come out, given that it is almost night." she shakes her head a bit.

"Animals hunt night!" Rhar knows that much, and shares. She's helpful like that. "We hunt animals?"

Lorien rubs at his chin, "We should likely take up position and find where best they might take haunts," he says.

<OOC> Altar says, "Are there people still living in this town?"

<OOC> Rayne says, "oh yes one fisherman on the pier other merchants now packing things... the town is alive"

<OOC> Altar says, "Then I would like to find someone who looks like they might be in charge, if I can't then I'll ask around."

<OOC> Rayne says, "stores seem to be closing down except the inn and Tavern. Pose what your doing and I will reply :)"

Altar heads for the inn. "I imagine they do come out at night, I'm going to ask around at the inn to see if they have any useful information." Corra nods, "Probably a good idea, as after all we have is rumors."

Lorien makes his way towards the Inn and Tavern himself, if it is the same place, if not, tavern, "I will ask about too."

The Fisherman is putting his catch in a bucket and he moves to a home, pulling it inside. The Merchants now have all packed up and the streets empty. Darkness begins to settle over the town and the lights of the inn are of a magical essance, no candles or torches flicker in the windows. A single innkeeper greets you "May I help you?" asks a young Human woman

The Tavern is separate from the Inn, a block between them. Inside are a bunch of races drinking and carousing. They are having a good time even if the night just started.

Altar steps up to the counter at the inn. "We have come about the werecreature problem. Do you know anyone who might be able to help us find them?"

Rhar doesn't know an inn from a tavern, but might not like either one. She and Gurr stay outside and sniff around. If one of the animals comes, they'll see or smell it better from out here.

You paged Rhar with 'perception check please' GAME: Rhar rolls perception: (17)+11: 28

Lorien asks of the people which are about at the Tavern, "So then, about the werecreatures, does anyone know much about them or such?" he asks.

Corra isn't as good with people as some others so lets them do the question asking as she stands outside near Rhar and is watching things. In the Inn - The lady looks to Altar, "find them?" she asks nervously "well most travelers do not want to find them, are you sure I can not convince you to buy a room tonight?"

To Lorien's reply a bunch of heads turn his way scowling a moment before they go back drinking. The Bartender guestures him over "whats your poison?" its the same sort of deal just a different sort.

You paged Rhar with 'Grr can sense the scent everywhere.. though he looks to the way Lorien went.. maybe sniffing in his direction' Lorien heaves out a sigh, and pinches at the bridge of his nose, "Winterwhite," he says, as he curves a smile, "In fact, I will buy a roundof the best alcohol for each of ya, drinks on me, boys, but I need and know that information."

Altar says, "I require neither sustenance nor sleep. Once we have dealt with the lycanthrop problem I imagine some of my companions will want rooms, but I do not require one. I understand most travelers would shy away from them, but as we are here to deal with them, that would be counter productive. Do you know anyone who might know where they are, or shall I ask around the rest of the town?"

The rounds of various drinks makes the way through the Tavern and one large man stands up looking at Lorien "whatcha wanna know about the Lycans lad?" asks a large human. His voice is deep and edgy.

Within the Inn- the manager nods her head "well if you want information.. you can speak to Tyrel over at the Tavern.." she pauses "but do not tell him you got that information from me." she turns to usher him out of her inn.

<OOC> Rayne says, "corra - roll perception" GAME: Corra rolls perception: (18)+9: 27 Altar leaves without a fuss, and heads for the Tavern. You paged Corra with 'a few shadows in the sky small bats swoop over the waters edge.' You paged Corra with 'too small for lycans'

Lorien nods at the large human, "Well, we wanna know about when they come out, where they stay, such things as that, and any advice on taking care of it non-violently, you see, we were hired for a job to take care of it," he says, as he takes his drink and sips at it, glancing about towards the door.

Rhar and Gurr look around the street. They sniff, too. Gurr has the bigger and better nose, and seems to get something. He pads around in a circle a few times, then starts going the way that Lorien went. The Tavern. Rhar follows Gurr. "Smell something!"

Corra cocks her head to the side as she looks up at the air, over closer to the water, "Not...were anything just bats." she murmers and is watching them a little, just in case.

The man laughs "when they come out?" He laughs again "they are always out lad...what do you know about such a curse?" he asks Lorien.. The man is not a threat to Lorien, not yet at least. He towers over Lorien and he drinks down his drink heavily.

Rhar and Gurr and Altar (i think) are headed to the tavern as a large dire rat runs across corra's foot along the water edge. <OOC> Lorien says, "Oh snap."

Lorien smiles softly at the man, and then he says, "Well my friend, I'm quite glad that you ask, I may have barely an experience with it myself, but as a follower of Eluna, I feel that those with such should be cared for, offered chances, even the," he motions, "Animals, if they have become such, I can't say that I wish and harm them though," he adds. Faith talking here!

Corra blinks, now a dire rat isn't a lycanthrope but it is a bit larger than she was expecting. "Hey guys?" she calls out.

Altar moves over toward Corra when she calls out, instead of the Tavern. "What? Did you find something?"

<OOC> Rayne says, "corra and altar perception rolls please." GAME: Altar rolls perception: (16)+3: 19 GAME: Corra rolls perception: (2)+9: 11

<OOC> Rayne says, "nothing yet."'

Corra mutters a little, "Some small bats, oh and dire rat. Just not exactly what I was expecting."

Altar says, "Perhaps the locals see a dire rat and think it is a were rat?"

Grr will look at the door of the tavern and whine a little, his ears flattening. Lorien gets a few laughs "Lycans are moon mad you know, it is not a full moon tonight." Well that was something, but as Lorien talks the man reaches out to grip his shoulder "I suggest you leave.. he attempts to scare Lorien away.

Lorien furrows up his brows, and then looks a bit towards the entrance of the tavern. What's taking them so long? Well he shifts his attention back towards the patrons, "So, that is how it is," he says, and then pinches the bridge of his nose, "Listen, I don't want this to become an incident, not from me, of course, but we need and solve this somehow, listen, I don't think them mad, but, don't you think that it's worth the thought?" he inquires, as his shoulder seems less tense, he's trying to be calm and diplomatic. There's no call of panic outside, so he doesn't seem worried.

"In!" Rhar points at the door that Lorien just went through a little while ago. Then she turns back when Corra calls out. Rhar doesn't know who Guys is, but she can hear. "Bats, rat not hunt you." She knows a little about animals.

As Corra and Altar turn they see a horrifying sight, three Polymorphed figures stand dressed like Militia. Short Swords in hand.. Half human- Half Rat "Halt there!" All three are men and have what appears to be masterwork studded leather on their chests.

Corra cocks her head to the side and doesn't move but calls out, "I found them."

<OOC> Rayne laughs <OOC> Lorien says, "Ha." <OOC> Rayne says, "lorien i will pose inside the bar once altar reacts" <OOC> Lorien says, "Kk."

Altar stops moving as requested. "Looks like we found them." he says quietly to Corra, then louder to those who called out. "We are looking for you. We have come to offer our services in curing your affliction. Apparently you have been plaguing this town, and that needs to stop."

Poor Rhar, pointing to the door sees the three were creatures talking to Corra and Altar. While Inside the Tavern the door is closed, Rhar hears it locking as one of the patrons locks it. He looks to Lorian as he seems to still be standing there, and another one stands...Three in all in the tavern counting the man with his hand on Loians shoulders "Do not threaten us boy...we out number you".

"Hey, I didn't, I was saying that the group of adventurers tend to be a twitchy sort," Lorien says. As the door seems and close, he heaves out a sigh, and looks at the hand on his shoulder, "Okay, tell me what it is that you're trying and say, tell me why it is they would call us adventurers to care for the situation and call that it's were-beasts which are the problem? Why so protective?" he asks. He's still trying and seem a bit unyielding, while still trying and seem like he poses no threat, "Lorien Valiant's the name," he adds. Well, politeness persists. Heh.

<OOC> Rayne says, "lorian do you have diplomacy?"

Rhar turns to see the half-people/half-animals. "You find!" Now she points at them. Her other hand pounds on the door. "Find outside! Gurr smell maybe inside!" Just so that all of her pack knows what's going on.

GAME: Lorien rolls 1d20+2+6-2: (17)+2+6+-2: 23

The three inside look like large beefy men, they seem not to be morphed yet. They corner Lorien inside the tavern as he is speaking to them. "Everything is a problem they do not understand.. We are the Nightshadows" The man who is grabbing Loriens shoulder has not let go but his grip loosens to the well spoken fella. "Go home and forget our town."

Outside the soldiers look to Corra and Altar; "Stop?" the one in the middle asks "why?"

Rhar moves to Gurr's side, or Gurr moves to hers. Depends on which one somebody's watching more. "No hurt people!" That's Rhar, who also points at the armored animal-people.

Altar says, "Perhaps we have been misinformed. We were hired to come here and deal with a were rat infestation. Are you not were rats, or not infesting?""

Lorien lifts up his fingers and pinches at the bridge of his nose, and sighs. Shaking his head a bit, he considers, "Nightshadows..." he says softly, as he nods a bit, "I ask only that you make one promise, if you are as you seem to be from this conversation, and that's to seek Eluna, I do not think forcing the situation would bring either side victory today, but I wish for the safety of others," he intones. He glances towards the door, "However, I wonder if the others are safe," he mentions.

Corra nods her head, "As he was saying, We were asked to come and check on rumors of an illness. So we have come to investigate." Since Lorien is not forcing them to leave they will allow him to leave the gangmembers will step out with him if he chooses to go. "Leave but if you come back again...you will be recruited ..." they unlock the door and wait to see what he is going to do.

"Well we see no illness here, we are whole and fine." Oh yes right whole and fine if you call being half rat fine. Grr and Rhar are faced and they sneer before dismissing the pair as unimportant. The trio move as a unit on Altar and Corra lowering there swords to challenge them. "This is the last time we are asking.. Leave this town."

Corra cocks her head to the side, "Last time you are asking? Which do you want us to do. Stop? leave? You have given conflicting requests." she nods her head, "So you all have chosen this, or were born this way yes? Maybe we should put into place a protocol so that the city doesn't send anyone else."

Altar says, "There seems to be quite a lot of confusion here. Who sent us to get rid of the were rats if the whole town is were rats? Perhaps they should just stay in this town and not bother anyone."

Lorien turns on his foot, and then nods at the gathered members. If they come with him, even a few, they will flank him it seems. He keeps on a path, and then notes the situation which seems to be escalating or perhaps calming. The youth lifts his hand a bit, "Fellow adventurers," he says clearly, as he regards the group, and then folds his arms along his chest, "I have spoken with the patrons, I don't know that we have the best idea with speaking of this to the outside world, but we should likely consider the matter resolved, I have requested they consider seeking Eluna, and keeping safely away from others, if anyone has any ideas, speak them, but I don't think out-staying the welcome would be best."

The Milita answers "the whole town is not infected... our women and children are not. You are lucky you come on a night the moon is not driving us, or we would not be speaking to you." They turn as Lorien comes out with the NightShadows and the two clans watch the adventurers. "do you think this Eluna would lift the curse?"

"Animal people need help?" Rhar is confused. A little. Maybe it was the animal-people that asked for help in the first place? Her tradespeak isn't very good. Maybe she didn't hear right before. "Need help, Rhar help, Gurr help. No need help, Rhar no help, Gurr no help."

Altar says, "If you want the curse to be lifted, I'm sure we can manage that. If you do not, and you are out of control when the moon is full, perhaps other measures need to be taken."

Lorien lifts up a hand towards Altar, "We do not wish it and come to pass like that, we shall seek and lift the curse, with Eluna's guidance, by the Goddess," he says, and then turns his form towards the others, "We will save them from it, if they wish, if it takes all we have," he adds.

The creatures surround you ... there are six men in total. The ones following Lorien look larger then the rat militia. The rats look to Altar "other measures like recruiting yourself perhaps?" He levels a sword and takes a step forward when Lorien calls out he hesitates "if it can be helped it needs to be before the moon begins to affect us."

Corra nods her head, "Well we can do everything we can to help you. How long till the moon starts to affect you?" she asks and looks between the six.

Altar doesn't appear to be concerned about being surrounded. Perhaps he is, but he doesn't show it, or anything else for that matter. "If you would like to come to the city, I'm sure the priests in the temple district can see that you are all cured of the curse. I doubt they would come all the way out here."

Lorien pinches at the bridge of his nose, and considers Altar a bit dubiously, "That is not the best idea," he says. Of course he knows what the Priesthood will do. And it will likely involve either the curing, or two other alternatives that do not seem the kindest for some, "We should find about where the curse started, and hurry up, before the moon, we'll solve this," he adds, "As I aspire for her clergy, I should be able and assist hopefully more than I could otherwise."

Rhar looks between the furry people and the not furry people. "What do to help?" Somebody has to know what to do. It's just not Rhar. Since Gurr doesn't speak up to answer, he might not now, either. Or he could be allowing others the chance to come to their own conclusions. He does that often, too.

The Militia are doing all the talking, the three who followed Lorien out stand there flexing muscles and looking intimidating. "We can not go into town, one step in and we are eradicated. If what your diplomat says is true he can bring us clergy before the weeks end."

Corra nods her head as she looks around at the others, "I think we can do that. I am sure we can find a few priest of different faiths, that can help you before the end of the week."

Altar says, "Very well, if Lorien believes he can convince them to come out here, that's fine with me."

Lorien lifts up his hands. When'd he become the diplomat? Whoa buddy. But he gives a nod, "Clergy it is, then, I may be able and speak with some, in the meantime, we will need and know what originally caused the change, which should give an idea, besides that..." he nods. Satisfied that this will be a peaceful endeavor!

The creatures part to let you leave the town unplagued. The ones behind Lorien spread their arms and force a change, huge man bats appear where men once stood and they take to the air hovering above the town, the moon shines against the giant wings and spread their shadow across it. They loom there until the adventures are out of sight.
