LeaningTowerOfBolide has dropped a scene logger!

Scene Logger by LeaningTowerOfBolide grows ears and can now hear.

The partied moved passed the strange heads and now they near an S curve in the ruins ahead (S in this case is not for snake... or Dragon). A pall of light casts over the wall head, a dance to show from flames or similarly volatile lighting so common in delves. The sounds of the jungle long since silenced from distance as the creatures seem to know, and understand, that this is not land for them. This land is for something else, once the worship site for the wild Sil in the area, now home to something else entirely. Something that must be removed for this place to be cleansed and the peace restored.

"...this is so bizairre," replies Dubtle. ALl of it is pretty unreccognizable to him, but let's be honest, he's jus tglad they're past the evil undead-heads.

"...you do not undersstand it, sser?" Chay asks of Dubtle, whose back he is not caressing. "One had hoped. ..." He leaves off as he crouches to examine something along the rocks and road. "...the road curvess ahead. There iss no sseeing what iss beyond it," he adds. He is not looking deeply into Dubtle's eyes.

Dubtle has reconnected.

"Right... I mean, it's weird but we should be fine. Is ther eanything that isn't weird anymore? Some of the things we fight..." Nasrin shrugs, then squints as she looks out ahead. "All we can do is try to get throug hthis as quickly as possible, I think. So, let's recap. We're going to go to the shrine and kill whatever moved in...?"

"That iss the gist of it, ssers. Assuming we do not run into any more floating headss." Chay straightens from his crouch. Wipes his hand against the stone wall. "Thiss one ssuggests we proceed carefully ahead." But saying that is like saying that water is indeed, wet, you know?

Granit has arrived.

Chay starts down the tunnel. He /starts/. Then he sees something that makes him stumble and pause. His claws catch the wall, scraping as he tries to catch himself and causing small pebbles to tumble to earth. "...paintingss ssers. Do you see them?" he asks. He takes a moment to regain his composure, to recover from his I-almost-fell posture. Then points towards high up on the walls and ceilings. "It sshows humanoid figuress worsshipping a bat-winged creature. Then we move along, ssers--" and he moves his hand leftwards, indicating a new set, "--and the relationsship changess. In later imagess, the figuress attempt to capture the other."

Dubtle is... reasoanbly quiet. He's trying to be, r3eally, but it can't be helped. He trips over a rock at one point AGAIN and then 'oofs'. "OW," he grumbles. Moving on!

Granit creeps along, bringing up the rear -- trying to be damned quiet while making sure nothing creeps up on them. He sparse a moment for the changing images, then goes back to guarding. "That would seem to suggest a reason that people would be disappearing."

LeaningTowerOfBolide has reconnected.

"Thiss one agrees. Do you have any idea, ssers, what the bat-winged creature might be?" Chay asks. He reaches up to adjust the cestus on his hand as he stares down the way ahead of them. Then, takes a few cautious steps forward. A quiet sound, like the far away bay of a hound, asks for the Hunter's senses and guidance.

Granit holds up his hand, and hisses. "Stop. Something is whimpering up ahead."

Dubtle is peering around, of course. Darkvision helps. He's moving to more closely examine the paintaings and try to make sense of them for the moment.

"Evil ahead," says Chay.

"So..." Nasrin pauses for a second. "I can't see anything," she whispers." And I clank like a wagon traing. Ideas?"

"There iss evil ahead," Chay adds in the lowest tones. The scout looks ahead and then--then he takes a step back. The bow comes out, an arrow. "We interrupt it, perhapss, sser," to Nasrin.

Granit steps up, and glances to Chay, pulling out his bow as well. "Stop it, and bring it back here?"

"Alright." Nasrin shrugs and unshoulders her axe. SHe then starts in the indicated direction on the most direct possible path. "We should probably keep moving then."

"Mmrm.."

Dubtle adjusts his spectacles. "They perhaps worshipped a minor manifestation of one of the Gods here. A long forgotten vision, at this point, and approach to the Gods. Fascinating. I can't say who it was -- we're missing too many pieces of the puzzle -- but this is a tale of worship."

...an asspect of the godss, sser?" Chay asks in lowest tones from where he is. He starts to ask something else and then goes quiet. He crouches, quickly and examines the earth. There. No...and there. He points silently along the floor, towards a set of footprints. He gestures towards indentations at their forward end. Claw marks.

"Dragging," he adds, still quiet tones, almost just a whisper. Almost just breath as he points with his tail now, towards a long line in the earth. "...the worsshiped, then hunted the godss, sser?"

Granit studies the ground, murmuring. "Good eye." He gestures. "Shall we go forward?"

Nasrin responds by going forward without waiting for the consensus. She's probably gotten bored. At least there's no 'singing' involved this time.

"Yes," says Dubtle to Chay. "I can't tell you more -- missing too much context -- but yes... an spect of the Gods, perhaps, or perhaps some long forgotten spirit. I can't say for sure... but this defintiely has overtones." He gestures at the painting on the wall. "You find things like it at ancient sites from time to t-," and then Nasrin is heading off and he's chasing after her.

Granit curses, and hustles after Dubtle and Nasrin, bow at the ready.

Dubtle has partially disconnected.

Chay goes.

As the four of your round the corner you see an alter up ahead. Strapped down to it is a Sil, with only a scant few rags covering his form as he whimpers and tries to pull free. He looks half starved and the wound on his side looks like it could be fatal, though not immediately so with the slow ooze from the wound. He looks over to see you and cries out in his native tongue.

"Damn!"

Dubtle stops to stare at the captured Sil and immediatgely begins making his way towards him. If it's a trap, he's totally walking right into it.

Nasrin has a healer's kit. Is she actually a field medic? This might revolutionize everyone's perception of her. She does, in fact, make for the tied up Sil immediately, Axe allowed to list so she can hold the pouch.

Guttural noises come from up near the ceiling, noises that sound demonic and echo through the room. Both Dubtle and Nasrin suddenly stop in their tracks and look up toward where the noises come from. The look of absolute fear crosses both their faces, and they turn to run from the very room you all have entered into. Two creatures then drop down from above, landing near the altar and the Syl looks at them both with his own level of terror. They are demons, and they grin wickedly with too many arms ending in claws, they are also quite small as they skitter about.

The man on the altar continues, "blah beagle blrgl bleh blah" <unknown>

Granit lets out a squawk: "Ware demons! Bat!" more or less as they drop down. He looses as fast as he can at one of the little multi-armed thing, but he hits nothing -- and nothing fleshy in the background, too, likely to the Sil's relief.

While the bat-creature may have been pointed out, it's hard to say where exactly it is at first. That answer is soon realized though as an arrow shaft soon appears in Chay as the arrow hits him from behind. Up near the ceiling as well, a bat-creature stands wielding a bow of a green wood.

"OH GODS THE SPIDERS," yells Dubtle in a shrill voice and then he's at the door. Who knew that stumpy dwarven legs could move that fast but they DID.

The skittering creatures let out shrieks and begin to charge at Granit with their rather vicious and evil looking claws lashing out at the elf. The sound of their claws dancing off his armor and tearing at cloth is all that can be heard, though they also can't seem to really get him either leaving the Ranger unscathed for now.

Granit reels back from the demon's claws, throwing his bow in the way, sending it clattering as he pulls his guisarme from his back. He sets his feet and brings it around, the head sparking on the floor as it accelerates. His strike catches both of them on the way by, the head's cruel hooks winking coldly as it cuts them.

Nasrin is still fleeing. A heavily armoured warrior in crimson bearing a giant axe running away like a small child through the night, shouting almost as loudly as she was when she first charged in.

The bat-creature looks down at the arrow and laughs before drawing another of its own and drawing back another arrow of its own. It looses the shaft and it thuds into the ground near Chay's foot like some sort of taunt as it calls out in words of its own.

Chay fires, but the first one goes wild. It wibbles! It wobbles! It clanks into the wall and does the dub step! No really, it misses. Anyway, CHay fires and the second one hits and sort of has an effect. More notable though, is him hissing and saying something about the bat-thing not being a demon!

Realizing swiftly that he has been MAGICALLY AFFLICTED, Dubtle stops dead in his tracks and turns. He sees Nasrin is still running. HE waves his hands at her, jazzily, invoking a magical spell of some kind. "navos! Make her knock that out," he yelps, voice still trembly with the adrenaline he was (and is) still feeling.

The small skittering demons continue dancing about in front of Granit, closing in and slashing at him wildly with little screetches and noises that sound pleased in a way. One of them finally strikes Granit, leaving a gash of a cut that seems to seem with some form of profane evil.

Granit gives ground, settling into a better combat stance. He swings again, hard and diagonally across both of them.

Ping. Ping! The sith-makar adjusts his aim. Again, an arrow misses. Another lands against one of the creatures attack them--one of the cackling, clawing things. "Thosse are demonss, ssers. One will try to determine what the other iss." Chay reaches up, shaking blood from his fingers as he reaches for another arrow.

Tirr comes running into the area, the oddbally Sith Makar wanting to help and all she fires away with a beam of red fire stuff! This of course misses....

In her hurry, Tirr knows she forgot something!!! She blinsk and shouts out "Ahah!! Oh yah, destroy the Atlar thingie, that may do something to stop all this!"

The bat creature, after Tirrynelth starts calling out about the altar turns its aim down toward the other Sith-makar, sending a wicked shaft into the ground where it quivers next to her foot - slicing through some of the fabric that covers her even!

"Oh damn," says Dubtle as Tirrynelth speaks. He looks amongst htem and then turns to look at Nasrin. He begins chanting after instructing her, "Don't go too far from me just yet," he adds, moving further in to give Nasrin more space to move in as well while remaining within his proximity.

Granit keeps stepping back, away from the skittering, clawed demon. He thrusts at its head, missing cleanly!

One of the little demons, the one that looks more hur than the other, dances back and waves it limbs with a shriek of noise. It is gesturing at Dubtle finally, but it seems to be.... completely ineffective. The other lunges back in at granit and swipes him with a claw to leave another jagged cut.

Chay fires his bow--a howl sounds, far away and the arrow somehow, strikes true. The demon freezes in the midst of waving his arms about, and crumples. The sith-makar takes the opportunity in both claws. One hand holds the bow, the other draws his camping knife. He cuts at the runes at the altar with it, leaving marks. Scratches. "Sshamans!" he shouts. "This one...thiss one..." he says, narrow-eyed. He looks over the altar. He thinks he has it! He thinks--!

Nasrin beats on the altar with her greataxe. She's pretty good at it. Chay plants an arrow in the wall .He meant to do that.

Dubtle has moved over to Tirrynelth, grabbing her qarm and lending her the strength of Navos to carry on. "This is the strength of Navos," he tells her.

Tirr isn't having a great day, she's managed to give a direction of attack and all, but her spells aren't doing anything! She unleashes a pair of magic missiles at the demon, only to watch them get absorbed....

Granit finds the range, and strikes the demon hard with his guisarme. It's still up -- feisty little bugger. He snarls through his gritted teeth at it.

Tirr blinks, "Soo that's not working on the demons sooo..." She turns, head swiveling as she takes a deep breath, there's a brief pause as arcs of electricity lick over her lips and she exhails, blasting a small chunk out of the altar.

Again the bat creature draws back its bow, lining up on Nasrin with a sort of grim look, an enjoyment in the game. But then the arrow is loosed and it clacks off the giant woman's armor and there's an obvious sense of annoyance to the way he looks.

Granit takes one final step away from the claws, then plants and drives his polearm through the chest of the demon, lifting it up into the air before slamming it down to the ground, ripping it free upon impact. "AND STAY DOWN."

As Tirrynelth reaches out a finger and murmurs arcane words, a jolt of energy scorches free from her hand and strikes the altar. The image of several of those small skittering demons seem to burst forth and then promptly evaporate under the onslaught of the book wyrm. With a final roar of anguish from the bat creature, a reach back to draw another arrow, the stone cracks and fractures into two halves.

With the altar broken in two the bat creature stumbles down and plants to a knee, he seems to diminish in size until it's obvious... he is. He does literally shrink, his muslces growing smaller and hair receding. The bat creature finally falls prone in the visage of a Sylvanori - in fact it is a Sylvanori.

The bat was a werecreature.

And its curse has been broken.

She's on a roll! Tirr sticks a pointed tongue out of the corner of her mouth and encants another spell. This time a red beam of light lances out from her hands and strikes the altar, what the intense heat does is anyone's guess, but she has an idea for next time she does anythging.

Pulling the Syl away, Dubtle is more than glad to've untied the poor guy. He's ready to heal him, as well, or at least try to. Mumbling about NAvos while Chay, well... Chay is reaying more arrows.

Tirr blinks as the bat turns into a Sil... she then umms "Well no more bats in his belfree!!!"

"...well that's not something you see ever y day," says Dubtle, staring. His jaw is slack.
