-=--=--=--=--=--=-<* A15: Mithralla Merchandise: Ballroom *>-=--=--=--=--=--=-

The ballroom has been craved directly out of the mountain. It is large enough to hold a hundred guests in comfort, beneath an artistic style reminiscent of the sildanyari tradition and heritage. The walls are solid stone, carved directly from the mountain. Left bare, the simple texture of the stone provides natural decoration and honors nature's creation. Although stone is an unusual material, the artist's treatment of it respects nature's source.

Regular pillars line the walls, arching high over head to branch out like massive trees, creating an intricate lacework upon the ceiling. At first glance, one might think the roof open to the sky above, but closer inspection shows clever illusions to depict an open sky.

The floor is smooth stone, carefully polished, and a simple platform has been raised near the far end of the room to provide a basic sort of stage. The acoustics of the curved roof help to bring the sounds of those upon the stage to the entire room, with minimal distortion. A large aspen tree has been carved into wall above the stage, with numerous small plaques in it's branches. The far end of the ballroom, beyond the stage, is covered with a network of stone, carved to resemble a covering of ivy and beautiful forest plants. Three small alcoves can easily been seen between the 'branches'.

Tirr tilts her head, understanding everything rather well, and in the same language responds "Oh sorry, I was just a bit lost." Yes she speaks the language rather fluently to boot. "Anyhow I've been wandering these halls for quite some time and I've found my self here..." she states and rubs at the nape of her rather long neck as she swivels her head around to look at the place.

She might be lost and a bit embarrassed, but the curiosity is still quite there.... <Mynsandraal> (re)

Mikilos nods, and blinks a few times, the accent just enough to point out his linguistic error. Ah well. "Lost? Ah, you must have gotten into the family halls, they can twist a bit. Though the painting should have offered directions... I'll have to look into that. In any case, what were you looking for? Ah excuse me, I've neglected introductions." The elf bows with a slight flourish, his very Grey robes swirling a little. "Mikilostravia Abrioudelanarchie Mithralla, Lord of Estranillia, Archmagus, Builder Arcane, and your welcoming host in these halls. How may I be of service?" <mynsandraal>

Tirr studies Mikilos curiously for a few seconds, that crest of hers rising just slightly as her jaw parts... Yah it's kind of a curious look from her kind for those who read their body language. "Umm I was walking and reading." She says sheepishly... "I'm Tirrynelth... Friends call me Tirr, or Tirry." she says and offers a slight bow, no she's not lunging for a bite! When she realizes she's talking to the Archmage her eyes get a little wide, but decorum and all... "It's a pleasure to... (cough) meet you." she says, trying to stand a little more upright... If she can... (Mynsandraal)

Mikilos chuckles, and waves vaugely. "Just Mikilos is fine, or Miki, if you like. I quite understand getting lost in a book. Though the guides should have helpped. I'll need to check on their triggers, might be something or another I overlooked. I'm guessing you came for the library?"

Tirr tilts her head to the side, almost perpendicular to the floor, yay for long necks! Tirr then adds abashedly. "I do kind of get into the book when I'm reading and all... Had one teacher mention the fact that a city could be in the process of being flattened by an angry red great wyrm, and I'd still somehow be blithely reading the book while the whole library burned down around me..." she adds and then smiles again, she's a cheerful sort of 'dragon lady'. "And yes, I've been reading every day since I got here, usually one or more books every day..." She adds...

Mikilos grins and nods. "I get the same way, though I'm trying to be a bit better about it. I take it you're fairly new to the city, then? I tend to bump in to most book fans at some point or another."

Tirr nods "A couple days ago." She responds and then casually holds up a large book which she had in her backpack... "Was reading this..." She says holds up an elvin tretis on custom spell construction... "Trying to read about spell construction on the fly." She says cheerfully "NOt that I'll be able to do it any time soon, but it's fun to read about the theories inolved." she adds again...

Mikilos nods and frowns. "Not that it's easy even when technically possible. To make -a- spell isn't all that hard. To make one that's practical and useful, moreso than those already in common use, far more difficult. I've been testing a few idea related to the troubles with Heth, but so far I havn't come up with anything particularly useful." It's about that time the floor near the center of the room starts to bulge upward, swelling like a stone bubble, perhaps five feet across.

Tirr motions to the floor curiously... "Yer floor's bubbling." she says evenly... The young Sith now fixated on the swell in the floor.. "Anyhow I am practicing Sorcery and all, dunno how I wanna go about it in the future, whether I just wanna study sorcery, or maybe delve into my ancestry a bit..." She adds now kind of multitasking topics while watching the floor start to bubble up...

Mikilos blinks and glances over, nodding. "Elemental, I've been waiting for it." Heading towards the bubble, which grows gemstone eyes, he nods. "Both are good topics of research, and I'd guess a fair bit of overlap. I have a fair bit of ancesty research on file, but sadly not much related to Sith relations. Not much has been written, and their own histories tend to be an oral tradition. Which is fine in it's own way, but difficult to export to a library."

Tirr oooh's and nods slowly... "I don't think I've actually seen an Elemental up close... As far as ancestry? I have a relative that is a Bronze dragon..." she adds and shrugs slowly, then motions to her bronze scales and such... "Bronze dragon ancestry and all... yup... Oh and most Sith-Makar are related to dragons at some point anyway, some more distant than others, some getting the dragon blood reintroduced." she says and smiles agan cheerfully...

Mikilos nods, placing one palm on the elemental, between the eyes, and going quiet for a few moments, 'listening'. The elf then break contact, and nods, as the 'bubble' shrinks back into the floor. "I'd guessed somethign of that sort. There are tales of a silver dragon with the Mithralla family, far back in the First Age, but it's unclear if there was blood relations, or just a friend of the family."

Tirr shrugs "Yes many tails, the ageless Empress being quite related to said silver and all.. I'm speaking of something a bit more recent and all... Evidently a female Bronze took a shine to a male Sith and well, yah they had eggs and all." she says and grins a bit... "Even met and was saved by an uncle many many times removed, A full blood Bronze that is." she adds and shrugs slowly... "But yah I know the stories... It's in the Sith racial memories and such...

Mikilos nods. "Not directly of course, but yes. I've a number of relitives who've draconic ancestry, but all second cousins or some such. Not direct ansestors. I really should host some sort of family gathering someday, though I suppose Llyranost would be the better place for it. We've spread out, but most are at least close to the elven homelands. Could be a solid excuse to get Estranillia fixed up again."

Tirr smiles cheerfully and nods "That sounds quite fun." she says and watches the Elemental curiously "Sooo why'd you summon the Elemental?" she asks now as she moves a little closer.

Mikilos ahs. "Perhaps you've heard about the trouble with the crypts? I surveyed this location long before i started construction, but if the undead have been digging their own passages, it's worth checking to see if anything has tunneled nearby. Earth elementals tend to be a decent way to double check."

Tirr shakes her head slowly "To be honest, I havn't heard much of anything, been studying in an elvish library, and well yah not much else most of my life." she says and gives a sheepish smile. She glances at the Elemental and tilts her head "I can see that..."

Mikilos nods. "The full sotory is a bit muddled, but not too far away is a large temple of Vardama. Beneath, is a rather large and ancient crypt. Many years ago, a death cult snuck into the crypts, and stirred up all sorts of trouble. It's unclear exactly how long they were down there, but enough to cause problems we're still finding out about. And occasionall fresh villains xneak in to further wreck havoc. It seems the latest trouble has ties to Heth, but it unclear exactly how that all fits together."

Tirr oooh's and nods... "Well I can try and help as best I can and all, but I don't know how I can a this point..." She smirks wryly and points out "I can barely cast magic missile, much less do anything else... Though I'm a fair shot with a crossbow..." adds the tall Sith, before she gives a shrug again... "Am sure it will get better..."

Mikilos nods. "I happened to be there when the latest breach took place. Was quite the swarm that broke though a stone wall and swarmed into a party. At the same time a Void dragon showed up to make quite the distraction. i managed to seal up most of the hole, but something fought me on the spell. The whole area is contained, but still not an ideal situation."

Tirr blinks "Void Dragon? Ummm yah that's never ay good in and of its self. " She says and rubs the back of her neck... "Soo how did y'all stop the Void Dragon? I'm assuming it took more than one?" she asks curiously, the odd Sith, now peering at Mikilose curiously, yay for stories!

Mikilos grins. "There was another dragon present. Bronze, as it so happens. A merchant from the Vast, who did most of the fighting against the Void."

Tirr ooh's and nods... "Well there ya go, probably an older one if they went toe to toe with a void dragon." She says and rubs at the back of her neck again. She then unhooks her backpack from her back and settles against a wall as she watches the Elemental and the Archmage... Soon enough she's pulled a large cantine from her backpack and opens the thing. Inside is a kind of spiced tea or chai... She's keeping it warm with a pair of sunstones actually pocketed into the leather skein surrounding the cantine... "Want some?" She asks curiously and looks at the Elemental curiously... "Soo how'd the Bronze do? Is he allright? And what was his name?"

Mikilos smiles. "Thank you, no. I only eat about once a month these days." He frowns mildly, and shakes his head. "I'm awful with names, I'm sorry. But he's alright. Was fairly banged up at the time, but were a number of cleric on hand to help."

Tirr nods slowly "Name wouldn't have been Victorax would it? I mean, chances are more likely to find the right needle in a pile of needles the first tim eout than this being the righ tname, but I gotta ask." She says with a grin then peers... "Only eat once a month, huh? How do you sustan your self?" She asks curiously.

Mikilos says, "...that doesn't sound right, but I couldn't say for certain either way. And via magic, of course. A few years back I was part of the Resistance during the war in Sendor. Nasty busniess. We were holed up in the sewers of an occupied city, with very low supplies. Starvation was a daily factor. Afterwards I made sure I'd never be stuck in a similar situation. Technically I don't need to eat at all, but I still have the occasional meal to make sure I don't forget how. Also minimizes my need for sleep, allowing for extra research time."

Tirr oooh's and nods... "That sounds... boring.. honestly, I don't think I could ever stop eating. So many good foods to be had out there." she says with a slight smile... She drinks some chai now and then adds "Musta been pretty intensive with the components to pull that off in a sewer?"

Mikilos nods. "We had a lot of support, but getting supplies in and out was a massive risk. And with a whole city basically being held hostage, we couldn't push too hard or fast, for risk of endangerous the civilians."

Tirr oooh's and nods... "That's a very interesting story, was it this city that was under attack or seige or whatever?" she asks curiously, and looks around again, before taking another pull on her cantine and exhailing with a soft, happy, and yes hissing sigh. "Am glad you all made it for sure, then I wouldn't be hearing this nice story...

Mikilos nods. "Invaded and taken over. Our army marched up, set the city under seige. Some of us went inside to cause trouble from within. Didn't work out quite so well as we'd hoped, but all ended up okay. Well, as okay as war ever ends up."

Tirr nods again, memorizing the particulars... "So it was here then..." She says and looks around, then looks to Mikilios "Who is we? you and who else?" she asks curoiusly, still raptly watching the Archmage.

Mikilos hehs. "Was a whole army, so a lot of name involved. Those inside the city, as part of the Resistance, was smaller, but still a sizeable group. Let's see, I know Jenner was there, and Xander. Fairly sure Ambassador Abrahil came, and that DemonChomper Svarshan and Lady Sandiel were part of the seige, but I don't think they came into the city. Jessa, and Jinks, Azog, and Craft... quite a few other who have since moved on."

Tirr tilts her head "Demon chomper?" she says, referring to Svarshan... "I've met Svarshan... seems like a nice sort..." she says and smiles cheerfully again... "Gonna have to get everyone's story on this one. This'll make for a good telling later I think..."

Mikilos laughs. "Svarshan is very nice. Until it comes to demons, or protecting his family. There was a time where he was really quite vicious. He's mellowed quite a lot, but he's still a terror in combat."

Tirr tilts her head "Mellowed out? Maybe it's his children?" she asks curiously and rubs at the back of her neck again... "Soo Demon Chomper? He eats or bites Demon?" She asks curiously... Yes, the Sith is extremely inquisitive and the more questions answered the more she comes up with to ask.

Mikilos nods. "BBQ. Has a number of rather popular recipies for spicy fried demon. The ingredients are difficult to obtain, but the results are quite popular. far more than the Air Grubs served at the wizard school cafeteria, at least."

Tirr stares for a moment and nods "BBQ? I am curious about this." she mutters and then asks "Do they have such in the cafeteria?" she asks again now, then glances around and adds "I don't think air grubs would be all that filling but maybe I'll try some of those too..."

Mikilos nods. "They aren't filling in the slightest. They look somewhat vile, but taste like a breath of fresh air, and are about as filling. The chef at the cafiteria is a firm beliver in new experiences. Most of the staff dines elsewhere."

Tirr nods slowly "Ahh, so you have a chef that's a little on the excentric side..." she thinks a moment then ammends "Ok a lot on the eccentric side. She says and smiles as she gets to her feet... "Well I should probably let you go about your work... How best should I go to leave so I can get back to my room at the Inn?"

Mikilos grins. "Door to the right there will take you to the foyer, double doors head outside. Mountain road will take you down towards the park, or up towards the nobel district, depending on which inn your staying at."

Tirr nods and remembers the directions... She smiles to the other and puts away her things before starting to head toward the door "Many thanks for your patience in answering my quetions, and thanks for the directions too." She says with a big grin... "Good night to you Archmage!"

Tirrynelth has left.
