GAME: Eilrie refreshes spells.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Sometime next week."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "If you /really/ wanna do it, lets do it."
<OOC> Eilrie realizes that she could really use about 3 Pearls of Power 1st.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You'll have more fun if there're more people here."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Cool. Either way I'm good to go. :D I don't mind getting smacked around by a CR5, just to see if I can pull it off. And I don't mind waiting a week for other folks."
<OOC> Eilrie prepares her spells, girds her loins and is ready for action!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's a combination of a quite CR high plant creature and some little CR plant creature critters."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Amusingly enough, that's doable."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Plants aren't super mobile and with what I just prepped... it won't enjoy the experience. :)"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "It's a shame that Entangle won't make a plant critter grapple itself. :)"
<OOC> Iadoth nods.
<OOC> Eilrie says, "The more I think about this, the more I'm up for it!"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "I've got range, I've got mobility, and I have a Galadh!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Alright, here we go."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "And I forgot, I've got Augmented Summoning... so all my critters have +4 Str/Con. :)"

You're at the boarded-up door to the glasshouse, which is tatty and dishevelled and... graffiti'd? There's what seems to be a skull and crossbones painted on the door in some sticky green fluid. Whatever nailed the door shut, did so in a hurry.

<OOC> Eilrie says, "Glass house?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yeah, when you got to the top of the hill, the thing that presented itself as an entrance lobby is this big glasshouse structure."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Can we see into it?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yes."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "What's inside?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Kind of. There are a /lot/ of plants growing right up against the glass."
GAME: Eilrie casts Longstrider. Caster Level: 4 DC: 15
GAME: Eilrie used a Rod of Lesser Extend.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's clear they've been there for a long time, and leaning up against the glass means they get as much light as possible."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "That's going on Galadh."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What does it do?"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "+10' movement for... 8 hours. Giving him 40' move."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Awesome, thanks."

Eilrie peers down at the glass house and tries to read the graffiti. She readies her bow and scans the area for other dangers as well.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'll have a Perception roll, then?"

Having never been one for patience, forethought, or tactics, takes one look at the crossbones - and begins tugging at the wood. "Ah! See, Missy Greenleaf, yon skulls and bones? Assuredly this is a place of glory!"

GAME: Bitr rolls perception: (3)+8: 11
<OOC> Bitr puts her name on that pose somewhere.
<OOC> Eilrie says, "+22?!? Holy shit."

Eilrie is apparently focused on reading the graffiti, while Galadh is staring at the greenhouse.

You paged Eilrie with 'What you see is ... well, just a lot of vegetation. A /lot/. You can see that beyond the door, there's a path, somehow mostly free of trees and scrub, which leads away into the glasshouse. The trees extend to the top of the glasshouse, some 50 ft. above your head. On top of these trees are some... more small trees. Presumably parasites of some kind.'

GAME: Eilrie rolls Knowledge/Nature: (13)+8: 21

Eilrie starts trying to identify the various plants and trees in the greenhouse. She says absentmindedly to Bitr "It is just us, we should use caution lest the hunters become the hunted."

You paged Eilrie with 'Despite your best efforts and knowledge, those do indeed appear to be just trees.'

Eilrie pages: Even with a 21??

You paged Eilrie with 'Yup.'

Eilrie pages: Ouch.

You paged Eilrie with 'Not because of the CR, it's because of ... something else.'

<OOC> Iadoth says, "You gonna bust in the door then, Bitr"

Eilrie pages: Is it reasonable for me to be cautious/paranoid about this?

You paged Eilrie with 'I would be.'

You paged Eilrie with 'Not just from the +22 bonus to Stealth.'

You paged Eilrie with 'And yes, I think as a druid you would be a little be cautious.'

<OOC> Bitr says, "Yep!"

Eilrie says "You may kick in the door, but do not enter. The growth is so thick, anything couple be hiding in there. It is a rich feeding ground and something may wish to defend it."

The smallest giant in the world strains at the wood, trying to force the door in as she grunts up at Eilrie atop her giant tree. "Aye, but wary to the hunter what'd try to swallow a giant of mine stature would soon choke and perish!" She guffaws, before grunting and acknowledgement.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's a break DC of 20, or you can try hacking down the door."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Or... you could try the handle. :)"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh! Nah, it's nailed shut."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "There are clearly nailed boards across the door."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "If it looks like Bitr is having problems, I'll have Galadh rip the boards away."
<OOC> Iadoth thinks that's probably the most straightforward way forward anyway.
GAME: Bitr rolls strength: (12)+2: 14
<OOC> Bitr says, "I UNDERWHELM!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Galadh would probably have an easier time busting through the break DC."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, what's your max weapon damage?"

Eilrie gestures for Galadh to pull the boards off the door. Two branches swing in over Bitr's head to try ripping them off.

GAME: Eilrie rolls 1d20+7: (2)+7: 9
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Or not. :)"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "We'll just keep trying until we get them off. Probably best of Bitr uses Aid Other to help Galadh."
<OOC> Iadoth is just trying to work out how long this takes.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What damage does Galadh do per round?"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Bitr, do an Aid Other check..."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Against Inanimate Objects? Hehehehe... 2d8+14 x2."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Galadh is technically a siege engine. He does double damage against inanimate objects."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Given time, Galadh can pound his way through a castle wall."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Even with Hardness."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh! Well that'll only take about 12 seconds then."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Galadh can batter through a 3" iron wall in about 3 rounds."

The tree rips away the boards with relative ease. What strength! What dexterity! What constitution! Within moments the battered old door is revealed, which is torn away by Galadh's enthusiastic efforts. Behind is revealed a 10 ft. wide gravel path winding through thick, ancient-looking tropical forest, which towers 50 ft. above your head.

<OOC> Eilrie says, "A 6" wooden wall takes... 2 rounds? A mere door is 1 round."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Will do!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That's the logic."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's okay Bitr, you don't need to."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Sorry, getting a little lag. :D"
<OOC> Eilrie hugs and injects Bitr with coffee!
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Gonna cast Detect Poison... and then Detect Magic. :)"
GAME: Eilrie casts Detect Poison. Caster Level: 4 DC: 14
GAME: Eilrie casts Detect Magic. Caster Level: 4 DC: 14
<OOC> Eilrie says, "I'll pick a random plant that I suspect might be poisonous to confirm."
Aya has arrived.
<OOC> Eilrie says, "And then scan 60' in with the detect magic."

You paged Eilrie with 'You detect some faint transmutation auras within 60'. You don't detect poison within the plant you selected.'

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Hiya, Aya! Bitr and Eilrie are breaking into a glasshouse which is the lobby of a tower where they suspect a rare artefact is hidden. They were attacked by Kobolds on the way up here. This place is full of rare, exotic and frankly weird looking plants."

Eilrie starts muttering prayers under her breath and concentrating on the inside of the greenhouse. She blinks "What...? There's magic in there. Faint, but something is enchanted to change form."

<OOC> Bitr says, "Yo, Aya!"
<OOC> Aya waves. "A burglary? Interesting."

Unsheathing the oversized broken sword on her back, the halfling barbarian - Bitr - moves into the path, glancing back at Eilrie as she flashes a toothy smile. "Oh, aye? Then let us hope yon creature can change to that which does not bleed." A chuckle as the halfling bunches up her shoulders, grinning ferally to herself. "For mine, there is a chalice at the end, and the promise of gold and glory." Thusly warned, however, she begins to slowly move forward, eyes checking either side of the path..

GAME: Bitr rolls perception: (3)+8: 11
<OOC> Bitr squints at the dice.
<OOC> Bitr says, ".. I'mma eat you."

<OOC> Eilrie has Bitr 'accidentally' step on Bitr.

As you break down the down and as Bitr steps into the glasshouse, she suddenly notices that two things that look like trees at the top of the glasshouse suddenly turn into little plant people dressed in winglike leaf cloaks and armour that's made of pinecones. Wielding a twig, the two things begin to glide out of the tree, trying to clumsily maneuver themselves to be directly overhead.

<OOC> Eilrie says, "Definitely not your normal party. Barbarian, Monk and Druid."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "They are 45' above you, and effectively just crossed the path. One is 5' in front of Bitr, one is 10' in front of Bitr."

It is now Bitr's turn! Mandragora is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay Bitr, it's your turn!"
<OOC> Bitr grins. 45' ABOVE me, eh?
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods.
<OOC> Bitr says, ".. I'mma use my sling!"
<OOC> Bitr says, "Actually, hm."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Posing!"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "One is right in your face, you know..."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Well, 45' above my face."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Oh! They're 5' over, 45' up. Gotcha."

As the creatures leap from the foilage above, Bitr starts and twists her head upwards - hand dropping to the stretchy bit of leather at her hip. She pauses, though, when the things just float almost directly over her. She glances to Eilrie, then straightens and calls to both. "Hail and well meet, cretins!" She needs to work on her tradespeak. "What is thine minding, to be hidden so?"

<OOC> Iadoth figures that means 50' for the first, 60' for the second.
<OOC> Bitr tries diplomacy! Being utterly uneducated.

Eilrie pages: What kind of stuff do they do? I'm not going to look them up to keep fair.

You paged Eilrie with 'They have Tree Shape, which is why they just looked like trees. They glide and fire explosive seed pods. They also have 'verdant burst', which I think helps to heal other plant creatures when they die.'

You paged Eilrie with 'They also speak Druidic, Sylvan and Plantspeech (trees)'

<OOC> Iadoth looks at Galadh. "Makes sense."

Eilrie calls out in Druidic "Wait! We did not see you here. We wish to talk. There is no need to fight. I am Eilrie and this is Galadh. We can reseal the entrance if need be. Let us talk." She gestures for Galadh to wave his arms, so they might better notice him.

<OOC> Eilrie says, "I hope you guys don't mind me trying to negotiate instead of fighting first."

Aya is first requested to stay back in the interests of diplomacy. Now she is told what she feels to be obvious. "There is always another way. We could bypass their territory. Maybe they could tell us whether what we're looking for is even here? If so, they could bring it to us?" Diplomacy works both ways, afterall. However, just in case diplomacy does fail, Aya whispers to the shadows. Some answer, flock and cling to her flesh in a semi-solid fashion.

<OOC> Bitr says, "Depends on if they follow us, I suppose. If not, we put cotton in our ears when we stop puking."

The baby wanders forward beneath flying things above, observing Aya and Eilrie through the door. It stands in front of where Bitr had been a couple of moments before, and uses its vine-like arms ... or arm-like vines, maybe ... to slam Aya.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "You're out of reach, it's cool"

The tiny barbarian shuffles off to the side of the doorway before she bends over, heaving her improper lunch to the ground. Blergh.

The awful plant-child thing reaches out again with its whipping, thorny vines and makes an attempt to strike Aya, despite the darkness drawing around her.

<OOC> Aya's Touch AC is 19.
<OOC> Iadoth gwar.

<OOC> Iadoth thumbs in the air.

First she got scorched by the fire tossing wizard. Then she came here, tried to be all civil like these souther people aim for, and ended up puking her guts out. When the last of the bile passes by Bitr's teeth, her eye twitches. She tried to be nice. She tried to be calm and cool. After all, plant people were people too right?

WRONG DEATH TO THEM ALL ARGBLBLBL

Red veins run rampant through her eyes, veins standing out along her neck as she goes roaring back into the fray; Bare feet churning up dirt, clawed hands strung out behind her. Sword having long since been forgotten, ignoring a scything strike by the mandrake as she tries to take a BITE out of it. Of course, sharp and pointy teeth snap on empty air as she can't really see what's going on, but since when did RAGE and LOGIC make boon companions?

<OOC> Iadoth just waits for Aya to get back.
<OOC> Bitr says, "Yeah, have to be ended by decision or unconsciousness."
<OOC> Iadoth finds the same answer. "I remembered the text differently. Also confusion is hilarious. It will be indistinguishable from your normal actions :P"
<OOC> Bitr giggles.
<OOC> Bitr says, "And since the mandrake was the last thing to attack me, Confused means I'mma keep trying to hurt it dies or is out of sight. Then I start turning on everything else."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Or until something else attacks me. I'll be jumping up and down, trying to snatch the little Leshys."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "... They're 20' above your head?"
<OOC> Bitr says, "Right, but confusion."
<OOC> Bitr says, "It says I have to go whatever attacked me last."

<OOC> Bitr says, "Eh, we'll figure it out."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I find the whole text a little confusing."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Yeah."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Ironic, isn't it?"
<OOC> Bitr says, "So, if I had -not- been attacked, I'd roll 1d100 to see what I'd do. But now that I AM attacked, I'm.. basically an enraged barbarian going after what attacked me last. .. And babbling. So pretty much no change from default Bitr."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Yet."
<OOC> Bitr says, "And once the mandrake is either death, or gone, then I .. pick the closest creature and go after them next, or whatever hits me next?"
<OOC> Bitr says, "Until rage falls off. Then I'm exhausted because I'm already fatigued."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "But, according to the text of the poison, I still have to roll for your confusion each round."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Right below the actual table it has an addenum."
<OOC> Bitr says, "'Any confused creature who is attacked automatically attacks its attackes the next round so long as it is still confused."
<OOC> Bitr says, "And since any touch spells have to succeed at touch attacks - even those of my allies - that means if anyone tries to heal me before the end of confusion, I'll turn on them."
<OOC> Iadoth laughs.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "The poison says: Poison (Ex) Slamâ”injury; save Fort DC 15; frequency 1/round for 4 rounds; effect confusion and fatigue; cure no saves but "act normally" result on the confusion behavior table ends the effect."
<OOC> Bitr has just gone from barbarian to frenzied berserker.
<OOC> Bitr says, "Oh, neat. So on 'act normally' roll I'm no longer fatigued..?"
<OOC> Bitr can see it now. Iadoth: "I rolled act normally!" Bitr: "THIS IS NORMAL"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I... guess so."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Meh. We'll figure it out! :D"
<OOC> Bitr will accept whatever call you make. Worse to worse, we flee like our lives depend on it and lick our wounds elsewhere.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I am somewhat confused by this combination. I think the first round you should definitely roll on the table."
<OOC> Iadoth shakes head. "I don't think you'll die from this fight."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Your call, DM! I'll go by what you say."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Although do not, I have no items in my hand. Dropped the sword because RAGE."
<OOC> Bitr says, "I guess I can slap myself."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Or.. bite myself?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you can't do an action, you have to babble incoherently."

<OOC> Bitr says, "Blergh. Alright; When's the next meeting, and I'll bamp people on the head until they agree to be there or die?"
<OOC> Iadoth will have to wait and see what Aya says.

Aya may not be able to put the fear of death into the creature from the darkness, but this doesn't keep her from trying to put just death into it. With it occupied by the other plant's grasping branches, she unleashes a rapid succession of snap kick, knife hand and heel strike.

The two flying creatures sprout another few seedpods as their companion on the ground is pummeled brutally. These are hurled at Aya, angrily, with all the rage of tiny flying things.

Eilrie calls out to the Leshies inside in Druidic "This one attacked us without warning. It was its nature to do so and came across stronger forces. Are you still willing you talk?" She wipes her mouth and tries to recover while she waits for the answer.

Galadh tosses the Mandragora off to the side so its no longer in the way.

One of the two leshies, that closer to Eilrie, responds immediately: "Your ally has slain our master, and we must respond in kind. We will not yield."

<OOC> Eilrie says, "Can I reply?"
<OOC> Iadoth thinks, "Yes, but shortly."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "It's just below 0, right? Not dead?"
<OOC> Iadoth nods.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "How far did you throw it?"
<OOC> Aya can fix that.
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Just to the side."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "I was about to pose killing it, but just wanted to put it to the side. So basically just to the side."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Gotcha."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Go for it."

Eilrie calls out to the Leshies in Druidic "Your Master attacked us while trying to negotiate. We can spare its life and heal it in exchange for end of hostilities and for the object that we have come for. We claim this item to balance the attack upon us."

Eilrie adds in Druidic "Nobody else has to get hurt or killed."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Would you like to roll for this?"
<OOC> Eilrie was hoping you wouldn't ask that. Hoping for bonuses for Druidic, Tree Companion and that they only grappled it, not directly part of killing it.
GAME: Eilrie rolls Diplomacy: (6)+1: 7
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Aaaannnddd... yeah."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I was thinking about your bonuses anyway."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Plus the offer of saving their master's life... should count for something."
<OOC> Bitr says, "The trick is to threaten. It's always to threaten. Even when you're just trying to get a cup of water."
<OOC> Eilrie puts a muzzle on the frothing Gnome.

The swooping leshies seem to consider this carefully, responding in druidic to Eilrie's offers. "We do not know to what item you refer. We know only of this space; it is our whole domain."

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Six - Init 8.
It is now Aya's turn! Leshy 1 is next!

"If you do not attack us," the far leshy shouts in druidic. "Then we will not attack, either. If we can help, then perhaps we can help."

<OOC> Aya will hold and pose.

Eilrie says in Tradespeak "Hold... there might be a way."

Aya isn't sure what the creatures are chittering back and forth with Eilrie about, but they aren't attacking at the moment. She looks to the syl and is possibly about to ask for details when Eilrie speaks up. "If they don't want to die, they need to keep their cones to themselves..."

The two leshies swing back and forth again above the path, lowering to 10 ft. above the ground. They are almost within touching distance for Aya --- almost. They will be on the floor within the next few seconds.

<OOC> Bitr says, "Oh no. My confused state is going to make me try to eat them, isn't it. :("
<OOC> Bitr says, "IF it isn't 'babble' or 'hit self' again."

The nearest leshy to the party calls out to Eilrie in druidic. "When we land, we will heal our master. We may need your assistance."

<OOC> Iadoth thinks that's probably a conscious effort, so... no?

The barbarian continues to wander in circles, froth on her lips as she babbles to herself, still occasionally tugging at her face or biting her fingers. "First of there came to an open place in the top of there's a buzzing-noise meaning something. You don't get a buzzing-noise, and he climbed and buzzing-noise."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Eilrie, any plans?"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Did the Mandragora stabilize?"
<OOC> Iadoth nods.
<OOC> Eilrie says, "BTW, what IS the object we're retrieving again?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Uhh, a magical artefact known as the Demon Cherub Pot."
<OOC> Bitr says, "Cherub's Chalice~"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You don't /really/ know what it is, other than that it's rare, powerful and expensive. And wizards."

Eilrie says to Aya in Tradespeak as she gestures to Bitr "See if you can calm him down and pull him away. I'm trying to negotiate with the ones inside. This is their master. I might be trading healing for the item. I will keep you updated." She calls out in Druidic "Your master will not die, but will you keep them from attacking us if I heal them?"

"Master will not attack you or your tree, druid, but master may attack others." They call out as they continue to fly down to the ground.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Aya?"
<OOC> Bitr says, "RL grabbed again, I bet."
<OOC> Iadoth would think that's probably true.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'm here for another hour."
<OOC> Bitr thinks our current plan is 'let the druid squeak'.
<OOC> Eilrie took only token Charisma... not figuring it was a big thing for someone who spends most of their time alone.
<OOC> Aya returns. "Sorry about that."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "No worries."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you wanna pose, go for it. It will be hilarious if you grapple Bitr."
<OOC> Bitr says, "(Because I bite) :E"

Aya looks dubiously between Eilrie and the chittering ...things. Then at the babbling half. Halfling? Half-giant? Half-wit? All of the above? "I'll look for the item. If they don't know what or where it is, they won't be much help." She isn't entirely sure of those, either, but goes to search it out anyhow.

<OOC> Eilrie says, "Do you? You should warn people in some way or give them some sort of hint about it."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Like a name or moniker"
<OOC> Aya may be pulled away again, so feel free to pose around me if I'm AFK when it comes back around.

<OOC> Bitr says, "Also true. Hm. How to best let people know of my biting nature?"

The two leshies swoop down further, landing suddenly, one next to another, in the middle of the path. They take a step towards their stricken master. They have a brief exchange in Sylvan, then one lies down on the floor next to their master. The other addresses Eilrie in druidic: "We require that my comrade is sacrificed, to heal our master. However, my shortspear is insufficient to do it painlessly. Would you assist?"

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.

It is now Eilrie's turn! Aya is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "We're not /really/ on combat time anymore, but I'll leave the TS up for now."

The tiny barbarian shakes her head, snapping out of the poison - and immediatly flopping to the ground, breathing heavily, with those lacerations from the Mandragon's tentacle flails. She gives the plant people the STINK EYE, breathing hard, but then eyes Eilrie. "Missy Goodleaf...?" She begins, questioningly.

Eilrie looks over at Aya and says in Tradespeak "Both of you need to leave, they won't attack me and you're both making them nervous. If they attack, come running but I need you to head away and out of sight." She turns back to the Leshies and in Druidic "Do we have a deal? I will heal your Master and return them to you, in exchange for the item we are looking for."

"We know nothing of this item," The leshy replies. "We are recent grown, and know only of this grove. Our master, perhaps. I do not know."

Eilrie asks the Leshies in Druidic "If I revive your Master, you will keep it from attacking? My companion will defend me if your Master uses that power again to make me sick or confused. He won't stop until he feels I am not under threat again."

"They should be nervous," Aya reminds, "but we have an item to find." She then looks to Bitr, breathes out a small sigh, and gestures to beckon her. "Come. We'll go AND find it." They'd need to leave the immediate vicinity to search, anyhow.

"Master will not attack druids," the leshy lying down says. "Nor trees. But your allies, perhaps."

"Master can't shriek again today," the other says.

The halfling barbarian glances up to Aya, and then a bit further up still, until she flashes a weary - but toothy - grin. She then pushes herself back to her feet, still breathing hard, and moves to fall in with Aya. "Aye, we'll let Missy Goodleaf speak to the lashers."

The two leshies glower at the monk and the barbarian as they pass, issuing a series of harsh-sounding creaks and groans as trees might speak during a storm. You can only assume they're swearing in Plantspeech.

"Will you help?" The standing leshy asks Eilrie in druidic. "You must strike down my comrade in a single hit. To do otherwise would be cruel."

<OOC> Eilrie says, "How far down does it look?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Huh?"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "How far under 0?"
<OOC> Aya will search for the Cherub Chamber pot, but must AFK. "I leave matters in Bitr's capable teeth."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's at -5."

Eilrie climbs down from Galadh's shoulder and moves over to the Mandragora. She reaches down and lays a hand on the tallest bit. She looks over at Galadh and commands him to guard her, in case there is an attack. She then mutters a prayer to Nature.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ahh."
<OOC> Eilrie finally prepped a healing spell! It paid off! Oddly enough... I don't think I've seen any plots where the opposition was healed up. :)

The mandragora's damage seems to lessen; deep wounds in the wood become less so, some of the pallid tubers lose their bruises, and leaves seem to thicken and gain colour. It opens its horrid eyes, and starts, spitting out words that sound devilish and cruel. After a moment the bile and anger seems to fade. "Druid." it says simply, in Tradespeak. "Speak."

Eilrie asks in Druidic "Do you understand me like this?"

Again the stream of incoherent demonic words. "Speak." It says again. "Words."

<OOC> Bitr says, "Sorry, back again!"
<OOC> Bitr lets Eilrie have the spotlight for a few tics. :D

As Bitr and Aya wander around the glasshouse, trying to keep out of sight and earshot of the mandragora and its new friend, they don't come across much other than plants, gravel and a pond of stagnant-looking water covered in orange algae. At the back of the room is a wall, the same as the other outbuildings from the tower, with a thick door set into it.

Eilrie frowns, but continues in Tradepeak "My companions are here to retrieve an object. I tried to negotiate but you attacked and were defeated. Your servants pleaded for your life. I agreed in exchange for sparing you and healing you, that we would get the object. Would you agree to these terms? Your life for the item?" She has a sneaking suspicion that things are not what they appear to be but is trying to play it straight. She moves back over to Galadh's side.

As much as it can, the thing looks confused. "Spawn of demon," it says, indicating to itself. "Master, great mage. Great mage. Lived here many sun-cycles, gone now. Now, kobolds, not care plants, eat plants. Item? Not know item. What is?"

<OOC> Bitr says, "A new thick door near the back, eh?"
<OOC> Eilrie laughs "This should be funny."
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It leads to THE NEXT PART OF THE PLOT ARC."

Eilrie says after some thought "We can help each other. We can rid you of your kobolds, with your help. You aid us in ridding this place of the kobolds, you get your realm back and you help us retrieve the item we came for."

The tired halfling pauses, back stepping a few steps and waving Aya over as she gestures. "Turn thine eyes towards mine hand, Missy Slaphappy; See! A portal." She bites her lip, glancing over towards where the plants and plant lady talk to one another, then looks to creep closer - and put her ear to the door. To listen!

GAME: Bitr rolls perception: (19)+8: 27

You paged Bitr with 'On the other side of the door, you hear ... nothing. It is quiet. Almost /too/ quiet...'

<OOC> Eilrie giggles and really loves the idea of getting one encounter to help with another.

Bitr pages: .. Sounds like it needs to be KICKED IN WHILE SCREAMING RAAAAA or something.

The mandragora assumes an aspect suggesting affirmation. It doesn't /quite/ nod. "Understand. Already. Kobold come here, attack kobold. Feed. Blood good. You come, not attack. Not feed."

It /almost/ sounds like an offer of an alliance. Very strange.

Eilrie says to the Mandragora "We need my companions to help. If they return, will you swear not to harm them as long we all keep to the terms?"

Normally, the lithe snappy Bitr would be kicking in the doors and raging to the heavens at this point - but the last little 'tantrum' took it out of her, and so she just slumps against the door for a moment, holding up her small hand. "Give but a moment's time to retrieve mine wind; And then we shall see what beyond this silent portal waits!"

<OOC> Bitr is gonna take a minute to rest and get her breath back. For more RAAAAGE later.

There is a pause. "Understand. Not attack you. Not attack friends. Attack others. All others."

Eilrie says "Wait here, we will return shortly with them." She climbs up on Galadh and gestures him to follow after the others.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'm gonna have to call it square, there. If you want to pose out, I'll leave the log running for a few minutes."

From afar, Eilrie hopes this doesn't turn into a betrayal. I'm hoping the self interest and fear will keep it to the terms.

<OOC> Bitr thumbs up. Thanks for being patient with us and coming back, Ia!

Eilrie pages: The idea is that it gets what it wants completely. We go away, the kobolds go away and it gets to live in peace.

The mandragora nods, and closes its eyes. "Rest now." it says. "Rest..." The leshies stand up, and walk away into the undergrowth, and you quickly lose sight of them. So, apparently, you're alone in the glasshouse again. Bitr and Aya are by the iron door at the back of the room, the little one asleep, so it seems. Just resting too, maybe.

The odd pair wander up towards the pair, Eilrie on Galadh's shoulder. She calls out to the pair "We have come to an agreement. They want the kobolds gone, we want the item. The kobolds won't give us the item. They will help us fight the kobolds to be rid of them. They get the tower, we get the item. The leader has promised to aid us with his two companions and not attack us. The leader seems to be a spawn of a demon, so we should take care not to put ourselves in a vulnerable situation. Attack from range, so they won't have us caught in a flank if they are working with the kobolds."

<OOC> Aya manages to fend off RL for a few minutes. "Is this door locked?"
<OOC> Iadoth is leaving I'm afraid. You've not found out yet.
<OOC> Iadoth will schedule a session for next week, probably.
<OOC> Iadoth gives some noms and will post the log tonight.
