  • Summary: Sabina is closing the TarRaCe. She's drunk and slept on it. Cryosanthia, Aryia, Jinks and Seyardu return from shopping, Irshya emerges from the bath. Verna comes in, followed by another beltcaped inquisitor. The Inquisitor starts dramatically sneaking around the Tarrace while everyone listens to Sabina's explanation. Irshya is heartbroken, demanding she stay, let her go with her, give her the Tarrace. To not leave. Sabina explains she's been given no choice. She has a pact and the city is cracking down on her. The Inquisitor sneaks upstairs and gets into Sabina's lingerie drawer and is thrown out. Mercy, Inquisitor of Daeus arrives and demands the other Inquisitor identify himself. Irshya tells him to leave and he does, nearly being hit by lightning as he exits. This attracts Cesran and later Merek. Cesran and Cryo greet each other, it's been some time and he hasn't seen how she's recovered. He mistakes her new condition for some lingering mana damage and is assured the whitescale is fine. The distraction from the topic is brief, Sabina details everything with Rupi, including showing off her pact mark, wings enclosing a heart that holds two masks: Tragedy and Comedy, a devil and a coyote. Sabina heads upstairs to check her room, Irshya returns the kitchen, and her friends sit in the empty restaurant and contemplate the significance and the future. Cesran explains he has been researching a solution, but can't explain any of it, he's being watched. Aryia confronts the statues of the three gods, and Cryo notices the sun falls on Ceinara in such a way the statue seems to be looking at her. Realizing this will be her last chance to perform on the Tarrace stage, she gets up to dance. Using her cantrips she puts on a light show and evokes a magical band, as she is joined by Lily, Seyardu and Aryia in dance. There is only one appropriate song. Closing Time.

Inside, this two-story structure has been almost completely opened up. Generous windows on both stories allow daytime sunlight and cooling night breezes to flow in as needed, while the brick walls have been whitewashed - contrasting with the dark-stained beams and supports, and the rich polish on the wooden floor. A broad strip of stone runs from the entrance to a framed doorway set into the opposite wall, with a sign above the lintel declaring that the baths are to be found that way. The ground floor is sprinkled with tables and chairs of assorted sizes, offering welcome to guests both large and small. One whole corner of the building - into which guests are not permitted entry - has been given over to the kitchen, which serves as the domain of the famed monster chef Ligum Serforus. Mundane meals are available, but the chef delights in offering up obscure dishes made from the freshest of monster ingredients.

Opposite the kitchen a small bar runs in front of an array of shelves, displaying a broad selection of beverages (most of them alcoholic). The bar-top has been fashioned from what looks to have been old pieces of armor, fused and welded together before being polished to provide a near-smooth finish. Set above it, three human-sized statues have been built into an alcove in the wall: Tarien, Rada and Ceinara jointly keep benevolent watch over the room and its occupants.

To the right of the entrance, a small stage offers a platform for a handful of performers at a time. To the left of the door, a spiral staircase of wrought iron winds its way up to a balcony dining area, that is chiefly reserved for special events and parties.

Sabina sits at her normal table. And that is the only thing that is normal going on currently in the Tarrace. Most of the windows are shuttered leaving only a few to provide light into the space. No signs of patrons or staff. No sounds or smells of cooking. Almost all the chairs are upside down on tables.

Three empty bottles sit on the table in front of Sabina who holds her head in her hands, massaging her temples and eyes closed. Her normal mithral mask no where to be seen.

The door opens. Cryo's eyes linger on the sign: Closed - Open for Demon Hunters. Her breath mists in front of her as she slips in. Lily rides on her shoulders. The pair look behind the whitescale to check that their friends are following, then she strides into the Tarrace.

The tall sith walks between the shafts of sunlight and dark, stirring the dust motes as she goes. Her steps, solid slaps and toe-claw clicks are loud in the mostly empty room.

Aryia was told a certain someone needed hugs. And her wallet had some spare change. She follows in after the whitescale, her wrapped up in a grey cloak to ward off the chill in the air. She pauses at the entrance, blazing gaze sliding over the bare establishment. Never has she seen it so... vacant.

Eyes settle on the lone figure, and the bottles. A sigh leaves the mute, and she resumes following in her scale-friend's wake.

Verna had only just recently visited the TarRace, and it was a far different experience, then. That it now appears all but empty is quite the contrast. In her personal view, a far more comfortable situation in which to dine, though her more business-oriented thoughts are well aware that busy-ness is good business.

She enters somewhat cautiously or hesitantly. She could be considered an ally of one or more primary regulars. She could also be considered a demon hunter. Whether or to what degree she might be considered competent at either... is nother, very subject matter entirely.

Bina speaks without lifting her head or opening her eyes. "There's no demons here. You're welcome to look about or whatever. Cast spells. If you want to threaten me or whatever go ahead. My head is killing me already though so.." She trails off as she hears the clicking walk and the sigh. Her eyes open a smidge and she glances up at who's come in. "Sorry. Hello, all."

A detour is necessary. Cryosanthia needs a short bench to sit on, Lily needs a tall chair. These are pushed over to onside, leaving normal chairs on tables. The whitescale gathers what she needs and circles in on Sabina's table. The furniture is pushed into place, squeaking on the floor.

Lily hops from one perch to another, then onto the table and walks up to Sabina, "Tia Beansss?"

Cryosanthia slips into place on her bench, adjusting her tail to hang behind her. There's a slight greying of the bench beside her hips. She's concerned and thus colder than usual and already freezing her seat. In silence she stands the bottles on end and moves them to the centre of the table, making a small triangle out of them.

In silence, a figure in dark clothing that he wears, adjusts a dark cloak and follows Verna in. The large and obviously false nose identifies him as one of the Inquisitors that was around earlier. The leather 'witch-hunter' hat identifies him as... a witch hunter, or perhaps a demon hunter.

He may or may not be with Verna.

Aryia spies Verna entering in with them, her giving a slightly confused, yet subtle wave from the hip as they move in further. But such gaze falls onto the figure in dark clothing.

She glares at them. Jabs two fingers at her eyes, then jabs the same digits at him as she walks backwards a few steps before executing a sloppy pirouette and continuing on her path more proper.

Pulling out of metaphorical wallet, she grabs a few silver pieces, and hands them over.

Wordlessly, there is now a mute mul'neissa attempting an awkward side hug for the proprietor.

Verna notes familiar faces, as well as Aryia's gestures. The latter causes her to turn briefly, if just to ensure there is not some manner of eye-gouging creeping doom looming behind her, of which Aryia attempts to warn. Ah, only someone with a keen nose for ...trouble?

She turns her hood and focus back to the establishment, those known, and the proprietress. Somewhat encouraged by the mul producing coin, she inquires, "Are meals still available? Given the proximity of the hospital, and so many of temples working there, it would be wasteful to let any stores spoil due to a lull in patronage."

The man in black pretends the mul'niessa didn't see him. He hooks his cloak up to hide his face, only a thin band of skin shows between upraised arm and hat. He then sneaks through the Tarrace.

'Sneaks'. Not an effective skulking, almost a parody, a 'don't look at me I'm sneaking!' mime. Splayed against a wall, a White wall, the Black-Cape lurches along in spurts. Move forward, freeze, move forward, freeze, from one end of the Tarrace to the other.

Tap-dancing and singing 'hello my baby' might be more stealthy, assumed part of a floor-show and overlooked.

Cryosanthia watches that performance at least halfway then turns back towards Sabina. She vibrates, a thrumming noise, almost a purr, coming from her throat as she also leans in for the side hug. The Tarienite is surrounded, scales to the left of her, scars to the right of her, scales in front of her. Onward rode the none-hundred.

Onward forges the whitescale, "Sabina, this one is here for you. This one is sorry for all that happened, and... for not treating your friend more warmly. I... have news... that is meant to be joyous but will ... not be she suspects." Her breath escapes in a long exhale.

Cryo looks towards the door, "Verna. Peace on your Nest. The kitchen is cold, there is no staff, deliveries are cancelled. This one has not checked the pantry or Ice boxes, but if you send someone they can collect it I suppose."

"Right Sabina?"

Bina lifts her head and gives Lily a smile, one tight with pain from her hangover but still a true smile. "Hello, Lily. You seem to keep catching me at bad times. I'm sorry to worry you." She tells the small scale. One arm goes around the scarred one and then other about the cold scale and gives each of them gentle hugs. "Thank you. Thank you both." She then spares a glance at the kitchen and hmms. "There are bags of rice and couscous, flour and other things like that. You are welcome to take them to the temples if you desire. Anything else food-wise as well. The Tarrace is going to be closing for good, I fear."

A bit invigorated by acceptance of the embrace, Aryia sheds the awkwardness and leans into it further, adding another scarred arm to the mix. A small part of her was keeping track of the terrible tip-toeing of the inquisitor, and a slightly large part of her was considering throwing them out. But this wasn't her place to do so.

The news makes her pull away, blazing eyes wide. First at the future of the TarRaCe, then to the undertones her mind puts together from Crysoanthia.

For the first time, without artifice assistance from the golem band, a muttered phrase could be heard from the silenced mul'neissa. Only due to how quiet the establishment was, and how close Aryia was to Bina.

"Well shit."

succinct as ever.

"Uh-huh." Lily agrees, plastered against Sabina's front and looking up at her. In all seriousness she says, "It's be Ok."

Her conviction is reassuring.

"Irshya, Ygraine agree? Are not willing to run it in your absence?" Cryosanthia asks. The Tarrace closed, the thought causes a sinking sensation. She's aware just how much the other two proprietors have been around. She briefly imagines all the ways it could be saved. The whitescale could step up and step in. She already manages the books, the baths are wonderful. She can oversee the staff, have a bakesale, rouse a crowd in a street and rush the mortgage payment to the greedy banker at the last minute!

She adjusts in her hug, aware of how she presses against Sabina, aware of her thigh seeming closer than ever because of how she's crouched and because of her eggs growing within. Cryosanthia has to focus, has to choose, and the scenario she imagines is not the one facing the Tarrace and her friend.

It's more a matter of a broken heart.

These do not mend easily, if at all. The whitescale nods slowly to Aryia, "Sabina... whatever you think best, but you are not alone. I'll help however I can, but I can't do much, and not for much longer."

She snorts, remembering a golem observation, "all my activity cycles will be occupied."

A soft "Ah" emits from Verna's hood with the revelation of continued enterprise (or possible lack thereof). She approaches the group at the table, perhaps making the 'stealthy' investigator feel more confident by quite ignoring him or her.

"From what I observed prior, there is no issue with quality of fare nor interested clientele. Perhaps a new location will improve the situation." It could be considered a reassurance or encouragement, if not as energetically delivered as others'.

The creeping black-caped creep reaches the kitchen door, still hiding behind his cloak and arm. He peers about, false nose rivaling the brim of his hat. Then, as if the coast is clear and he wasn't completely obvious as a silhouette, he slips into the kitchen. The door swinging behind him.

Bina is surrounded by hugs and feels the warmth..well warmth of feeling if not actual warmth, from the huggers. She nods at Aryia's assessment and then places a kiss on Lily's snout. Another nod to Cryo. "I know. You're getting ready for wee babes, yes? Something I'm new very ready to assist you with as long as it's not here in the city. I'm soon not to be welcome here at all." Her eyes wander over towards the would be mime-stalker, an amused smirk appearing on her face. "You one of Tarien's or one of Ceinara's?" She calls over to the man. The heck with making him encouraged.

She looks then to Verna. "That's an idea I've toyed with. Starting this up somewhere else. WOuld have to be much smaller scale. I won't be here in the city and so the customers will be fewer."

"Ceinara's, this one suspects." Cryo answers, "making a production of it. A Tarienite Inquisitor would come in, declare all non-demons to be demons then discover the real demon that way. I think. It would be more humorous and less... dramatic."

She also nods, leaning more on her tail, not exactly a 'look how big I am' pose, but it's obvious. The need to be dramatic is not solely owned. "I have to build an actual nest, make friends with the other hopeful, arrange my clutch-mothers and egg-watchers and get the People comfortable with them."

"There's also that diplomatic mission," She exhales, hugs Sabina again, "if I can squeeze it in. I don't know, but I'll be out of Alexandria for a while. This one is returning to Mictlan."

"And... it is daunting. I am too used to the city. The crowd and convenience." Cryo admits, "and my friends. I felt it would be an imposition to ask, but... if you are leaving also, would you help this one? Be clutch-mother, or, be near to visit so we could talk?"

Lily nods and stares at Sabina.

Further talks of the TarRaCe closing felt like nails on the proverbial coffin. Aryia glances over her shoulder, still holding onto Bina with one arm, as her gaze settles on the archway to the bathhouse.

She could already feel the withdrawals. "Goodbye, my sweet," she whispers longingly to herself. <Undercommon>

The pugilist turns her attention back to the inquisitor. The mentions of showman deities makes a light smile crack across her lips at the ribbing. Yeah, stick it to 'em!

She shakes her head, nodding along with Cryosanthia. The shadow elf even cracking her neck at the mention of 'egg-watchers'. Seems like she was signed up for that role. Regardless, she was trying to be here for Sabina. Someone she really... didn't know all too well. So she listens.

"Establishing a presence outside of the city is a worthwhile notion," Verna offers, likely to both Sabina and Cryosanthia. Both stated or implied such intentions, if for varying reasons. "I expect that others will follow, intermittently or otherwise, for a variety of their own reasons. Given the current state of affairs and events within the city, to be present elsewhere cannot be more dangerous than here, and may well be less so."

Bina hmmms softly and peers down at Lily before putting repeated smooches on her nose. She giggles at the small one before answering the adults. Priorities!

"That's what I think as well. There will be people leaving. Adventurers. People fleeing adventurers. People fleeing demon activity. Folk who truck with demons and devils. Likely a whole bunch." She hmms softly again, this time in deeper thought. "Perhaps a roadside inn next to the portal? One with baths, of course. That way I can help and be both a Tia and Clutch-Mother."

"An inn there would be lovely." Cryosanthia sighs, then giggles, "Clutch-mother and Tia are almost the same things, the clutch-mothers have a little more training for dealing with eggs."

She makes a wry expression, "and... excitable Nest-Mothers." She nods some more, considering the other comments, "I think you are both right, as to what will happen. We saw goblins packing up in Goblintown."

She thinks further, "Yes, please, move the baths nearer to my nest. It will be amazing! Swimming is even better now."

Aryia couldn't help but reflect upon her own developments. The fiend attacking her place of stay. Their, place of stay, she reminds herself, thinking of dark eyes. Were they too going to have to leave the city?

Such inward thinking put on hold, her instead finally pulling away from Sabina and leaning against the side of the table to keep her focus on the group. Which focus *immediately* grabbed at the notion of there being baths once more.

She casts her vote with this idea with a sharp double bob of her head.

The kitchen door swings open, an inquisitor pops into view. He stands, staring at the group, ensuring that they don't see him. Or perhaps, ensuring that they do. Audience engaged, he creeps upstairs. Step, freeze, step, freeze. His shadow is thrown on the wall, a dramatic profile with fingers seeming like long claws. Lurch, lurch, lurch.

Gilday, Rhaltaas 27 14:15:32 1023

The gnome glances up at the obvious skulker, "I think I'll go ask. This is another joke that isn't funny." His hand slips to his rapier as he crosses the floor, "You run a good place, you should keep it open somehow."

Leaving the others to sit or stand in the empty space, watching the dust motes filter down, and ponder the future.

A wee form stalks out of the baths then, and she stares up at the inquisitor. Snorting, the blue Gobbo in sea-green robes heads for the kitchen then, wet footprints following along behind her. Ducking inside, noises from inside can be heard. The clatter of plates. The slow roar of a fire, pots and pans rattled.

Bina, maskless, chuckles and nods to the parting gnome. "The city doesn't want me here. They've made it clear. And while I could stay and try to fight it, I'd always be in 'the wrong' to them because I won't comply to all their demands. So rather then make many people unhappy I'll make a few unhappy and leave. Shut this place down, unless Irshya or Igraine wish to take over."She looks over her shoulder towards the kitchen, wincing again at the 'loud' noise. "Speak of the shark-one..."

Aryia blinks, puling away from the scarred hug to watch two folk go deal with the inquisitor. It's rather clear she's about... one or two more reasons to meander on over and join in on the beat down.

They don't have to be solid reasons either.

Verna's attention is pulled briefly to the baths as another appears. Given that Irshya is not attempting a bad parody at stealth and/or law enforcement, and the one who is appears now occupied, her eyes return to the group.

Seyardu had waved herself off when the rest of the group had moved to meet with Sabina. It was some time until she joined them, knocking gently on the door before the silver sith-makar entered. In her hands was-

Well, it was certainly a bouquet of flowers. It was an incredibly eclectic mix of different plants, with no rhyme or reason to the colors, even amongst the same species. Reds, blues, purples, yellows, oranges, it seemed like there was none missing. She brings this strange parcel over to the table, and sets it down, before she smiles to the others.

"Peace on your nest, Sabina. This one hopes you are doing okay, and wishes you well. I picked out some flowers, in the hopes they may cheer you up some." They greet.

Yet another Inquisitor enters the establishment, She doesn't throw the door open, nor does she direct her 'Stern Gaze' (TM Inquisitor) at the crowd. She just walks casually in and bows to Sabina. Flourishing her plumed and floppy hat she says. "Greetings Lady Sabina. Worry not I'm not here on business. I merely heard you were closing and wanted to see if you were all right. I fear a grave inJUSTICE! is being done you, in that you are being forced out of business.

The inquisitor, the one in the black beltcape, false nose and witch-hunter hat not the sternly gazing sheepdog of JUSTICE, notices the gnome heading his way. Obviously notices him, reacting with a dramatic, startled jump that invites a musical sting. Wishing to avoid a rapier sting, or whatever bugbear comes out of the kitchen, the Inquisitor switches to a dramatic, fast-running sneak where his hands are held up, he's crouched over, and his knees lift very high.

He vanishes into a room. There's the distant tinkingling of a tiny bell.

A realization and then a thought strikes Sabina. 'That's my ding-a-ling.'

'SOMEONE'S playing with MY Ding-a-ling!'

Her lingerie drawer has been opened.

Soon, the smell of cooking food can be detected, wafting from the kitchens. Something savory. The kitchen door opens with a sudden BANG, the wee blue foot having kicked it thumping across the floor as Irshya heads for the bar. Where a few choice selections of wine are snatched up, and hefted over each shoulder. The Gobbo-shark is decked out in a chef's uniform, complete with fresh, white apron. She stumps back towards the kitchen.

Aryia blinks, her watching the inquisitor go into a room. There's a bell. The mute didn't know what that bell meant. But that meant they were snooping where they weren't supposed to be. She glances to the gnome man beside her.

FINALLY. A REASON.

The pugilist gives a passing wave to those who enter, her grinning and cracking her knuckles as she leaves the table along with Jinks.

They enter the room as well. A two toned whistle to get attention from within is heard. There's sounds of a brief scuffle, and the inquisitor is hurled out of the room ass over tea kettle.

Both step out, Aryia dusting her hands off as the gnomish man inspects his rapier for any dents.

"Is that what I think it is?" Cryosanthia asks glancing in the direction of the bell, then at Sabina. She watches as Mul'niessa and gnome head up. The strange mix of flowers presented to her is hard to overlook. Seyardu seems to have found all the possible colours.

There's a glance towards the door, as another inquisitor enters. The whitescale is barely hearing her words, although there is that apologetic tone, "Yes, there is an injustice."

It grows colder around the snow sith. Lily presses more firmly against Sabina.

"Irshya, Peace on your Nest." Then an Inquisitor goes flying by.

Good, someone's dealt with that.

The blonde inquisitress frowns sadly and turns her Gaze on her Colleague. "Who are you and from what temple do you hale? I wish to have words with your supervisor."

Verna glances upwards at the tinkling of bells, then to the kitchen as food aromas waft out, care of a... determined interim staffmember? "It seems that some of your staff may be as dedicated as your patrons... Is that an alarm of some sort? I presume that ...." she pauses as it is proven that the ...individual... is much more adept at flight than, for example, stealth..." Ah, yes, unlimited search and seizure is not part of your cooperation."

Bina blinks at the flowers, making a surprised face as they are set in front of her. She leans forward and takes in their scent and smiles wide before standing and giving Seyardu a hug, Sith boundries be hanged. "thank you! They're lovely. And thank you for showing up."

She is then bowed to by Mercy and herr brows go up. There is another smile and a shake of her head. "No Mercy. There is no mistake." She turns about so that Mercy can see her back and wills her clothing to change. Skin is suddenly shown as the back of her dress takes a daring plunge towards her posterior. There, just above her backside rests a tattoo... a pact tattoo. A heart with wings hugging it. Inside the heart are the masks of comedy and tradgedy. Comedy has a coyote aspect to his features and Tradgedy has horns and a demon tail. "The succubuss Rupi is gone. But the pact remains."

The Inquisitor is thrown out, over the balcony, lands on a table with an expert tumble and rolls off to prat-fall flat on his back in a spread eagled position on the floor.

He taps his nose at Mercy, but does not answer beyond a smile.

The kitchen door swings open again, and once more CRASHES into the wall with a loud bang. The Gobbo-shark glares into the main room, and somewhere in the distance, there is the sound of thunder. She stalks towards the Inquisitor on the floor, her bare feet thumping each step. "Irshya thanks you for your patronage, but now Irshya asks you to leave, and not return.", she says cheerfully, her smile all teeth, barring the large gap where one tooth is prominently missing.

There were a lot of scents to take in from the bouquet, but it was not altogether unpleasant. Where color coordination failed, she at least manage to make sure that it all smelled pleasant together.

The silver sith-makar returned the hug with no worry or concern, including the pink kobold as well. "I was coming with Cryosanthia and Aryia, but wished to stop beforehand. You are welcome."

"The tattoo is not unnoticed, and she sighs. "I see, so it was true. And yet, I cannot bring myself to feel truly angered by its presence."

"Oh... that is beautiful." Cryosanthia says, examining Sabina's marking. Softskins can decorate them selves a lot more easily, this must be recognized. "This one sought such a marking on Aya."

"They aren't always required, it would seem." She laments, staring at the design, the two masks. It is appropriate.

Bina winces at the bang and then nods to both Seyardu and Cryo. Her eyes then travel to the angry Irshya and her smile dims and saddens. "Have I done something to anger you, Shya? Is there something I can help with?"

A small glance is spared for the inquisitor on the floor but no words are given to the strange person.

Jinks has already vanished out a window. There was something he wanted to share, but not with so many. Another time.

Aryia makes a 'tsh tsh' noise, like that shooing a stray cat, her waving the inquisitor off towards the exit before she rejoins the table, her glaring at the entire way. The noise from the kitchen and the land shark goboo gives her some pause, so her attention is split between the two.

The black beltcaped inquisitor pops up from the ground, offering a bow towards Irshya and a smile. His teeth are not sharp, they are not all that clean either, and he has two missing. He wins at mealy mouth!

A second bow is given to Mercy, a third to the rest, after which he raises his arm to hide his face and villain sneaks out of the Tarrace.

The moment the inquisitor steps outside the door, a fresh squall of rain begins to pour down upon him. With a loud crack of thunder and the bright flash of lighting, a nearby steeple struck multiple times.

Irshya rounds on Sabina, her expression fierce for but a moment before she bursts into tears.

Verna is not an expert at fiendish pacts nor body art... any more than the departing individual is skilled at... whatever they were attempting to do. She can offer little comment to most, aside from, "I am pleased that that one has left."

Mercy watches the goings on a little non-plussed and then looks to see if there is empty space at the table "May I sit?" She asks and then looks at the kitchen "I don't suppose your a still open for the moment? I could do with a beverage and a repast"

Aryia hopes that comment from Verna was directed towards the inquisitor and not the leaving of one's loved one. Her brows knit in concern as Irshya bursts into tears, the mute elf reaching over to pat them on the back soothingly.

Bina leaves her dress as is and keep the tattoo on view for those that may wish to inspect. She nods Aryia. "Thank you." She says to her. For consoling Shya or punting the inquisitor, perhaps both.

She moves to Shya and leans down to scoop up the goblin and hug her tight. "I'm sorry, Shya. It's my fault. Forgive me." She says softly.

She holds Shya close and looks over to Mercy. "Shya here was making food I think. But I'm not sure what. You may, of course, fetch yourself a drink from the bar if you like."

Seyardu cranes to look over and see the inquisitor tossed, and when she sees they are alright, she just sighs and watches them leave, before turning her attention back to hugging Sabina a bit longer. She gives Irshya a hug too, before she steps away. "If you need any food Mercy, I usually carry some on me for those in need."

She looks to Aryia and the others, and to the bar. "I believe many here may like to share a drink. I can gather some and some glasses for everyone."

Lily hops on the floor at Tia Beans moves, then looks up at her Ssassa. Cryo is frosty, her scales dulled by a coating of hoarfrost. She brushes at her thighs, loops her hands through some graceful gestures and wipes herself down some more while her gloves glow. If she can't be warm she can at least be re-heated.

"This one doesn't know what to think." She says softly, as her youngling jumps up and nestles into her lap. She brushes her down now, with the warm gloves.

"Juice only please, Seyardu." She says.

The Inquisitress nods to Sabina and Seyardu. "Thank you I will avail myself of your hospitality. AND no thank you Lady... have we met?... I'm not 'in need' just thought I'd take in one last meal if it was being offered." With that she heads over to the bar. Wipes down a stein and gets herself a stein of whatever is on tap.

The Gobbo simply bawls, burying her face in Sabina's chest. As the conversation goes on around her, her upset noises slowly wane and then cease. A little while later, she peers blearily up at Sabina. "This place is not shutting down.", she growls. "/I/ will not have it!" She glances to the others and sighs lightly. "Irshya sad to say she has only rabbit stew. Everything was cold, Irshya had to get everything set up. She can... allow one to have a few drinks, on the house."

Cesran was on his way home after a long day of research. The flash of lightning near the TaRaCe which is supposed to be closed got his attention though. He maneuvers his carpet of flying around the building looking for the cause of the lightning before he slowly comes in to hover a foot or so off the ground, "Greetings all. I saw the flash of lightning is everything all right?" He scans over each of them with his permanently blue glowing eyes before he looks around for any trap or monster that might have caused the lightning.

Aryia softly sighs, and nods to Seyardu, her moving to help the silverscale with the drinks so the owners could have their moments. She nods to Sabina in recognition of the gratitude as she maneuvers behind the bar.

A blink. Then a wave from the mute behind the bar to Cesran. She shakes her head solemnly.

"I must return to my duties later today," Verna notes, "so I cannot imbibe heavily." Upon Cesran's entry and inquiry, she turns to answer one of the few questions or concerns in the air which she can provide some insight. "Nothing is aflame and no one slain. Otherwise, no, I do not believe that everything can be considered to be 'alright.'"

Bina strokes Irshya's tresses as the small one cries and then nods with a warm smile at her demand that the Tarrace will not close. A kiss is placed on Shya's forehead and then the Tarienite puts Irshya back down on her feet. "That would be a good thing. It seems the Tarrace would be missed. Still, I must leave the city."

Bina then grins at Verna's words and then gives Cesran a shrug. "Have a seat, good sir."

"Of course, Cryosanthia, I remember there was some sparkling cider here before that should be good. I will get some for Lily as well." She replies with a nod to the white sith-makar. She turns to Irshya before she leaves, and shakes her head. "There will be no need for that, Irshya, as this is due to our enjoyment of our patronage, and being there for Sabina and everything she has done. So I will pay, as acknowledgement of such."

With that she turns away, and with Aryia's help, gathers a few bottles of spirits, bottled drinks for those not seeking alcohol, and glasses for everyone. She too stops and waves to Cesran, and shakes her head. "Things simply are, Cesran."

"Cesran!" Cryosanthia says with surprise, and a bright happiness in her voice. She looks quite different than the last time the Archmage saw her. She's no longer a dragon, her wing are gone, her tail is healed. She's wearing her mithril and leathers, a corset she's had to let out quite a bit.

Seems the sith'makar let herself go and got fat after her trip to the Sea.

In other ways, she seems fine. Lily is with her! Currently dressed up as a knight, or a paladin, or a demon hunter. She's wearing a paper mache' helmet and has a wooden sword. "Tios Cesssransss. Peassce on Nesstas!"

The whitescale nods, "doesn't it have to ferment to be sparkling? As long as it is safe, we both would like a glass. And things are... as Sabina says, Cesran. They just are."

Irshya's cheeks colour a pale lavender, and she shakes her head at Cesran. "The... lightning was my fault.", she says with a faint smile. She looks to Sabina then, and follows her to the bar, the Gobbo pulling herself up onto a stool, and kneeling on it.

"But why, Sabina? Why do you have to leave? Where will go you? Irshya will come with you!" The Gobbo sniffles. "But.. the Tarrace is home. We've worked so hard... why are you leaving?"

Cesran lowers the carpet down enough so that he can step off and the carpet rolls itself up before it floats up for Cesran to take and put under his arms, "That's good to hear I supposed, given the state of things." He takes a moment to look around, giving the whole room a good once over. "Hopefully things will start to change for the better and I've been able to fully devote myself to my research for the issues that are facing our city. I feel that I'm making some real progress. Although it is exhaustive."

He spots Cryosanthia and he gives her a smile, "Cryosanthia, it's good to see you no longer in a dragon, although your middle still needs some work, have you finished your treatments or are you still in the middle of them. Or is your expanded middle a side effect of the Sea of Mana much like my skin is."

Ral-sara can't be quiet after that. "Dummy! No wonder you are alone. You never ask a woman about her physical appearance. You are just so rude Cesran." The dragon head of the staff says with a huff, "Honestly, you are so infuriating sometimes."

Cesran looks confused, "What are you talking about? She could still have mana poison I was concerned for her." He shakes his head at his staff and ahs a little bit, "Be careful throwing around lightning." He then turns to Lily who's in dress up and he smiles at her, "Peace on your nests little one it is good to see you again. What are you dressed up as today?"

Bina sighs and gives Shya one of her warm smiles. "Because I made a choice. Because I do not wish to change that choice even if others tell me I'm wrong. Because soon the laws of the city will be enforced and I will be punished if I do not leave. Because Tarien's temple says I am not welcome there until I atone and I believe I made my choice with the very best of intentions."

She shrugs lightly. "I will not say others are wrong. I will comply and move on to a place that, hopefully, allows me to be me without fear of being judged on this matter."She then nods. "I would love to have you with me but I'll likely go much farther inland. Farther from Rada's influence."

Mercy returns to her seat and sips what appears to be a mulled wine. She flourishes her hat at Cesran but for a change doesn't bother to introduce herself. instead focusing on her drink and listening to the conversation. She does glance Cryosanthia's way when her middle is mentioned and raise an eyebrow without commenting. To Sabina to gives a glance of inquiry. "Choice?"

"So you are right, and everyone else is wrong?", Irshya wonders of Sabina. She sniffles and hugs at the taller woman. "But Irshya's skin will dry out, she can't go too far from water. Surely BinaBina doesn't have to go far away?" She tugs at the Tsuran woman's dress lightly. "Irshya will go too."

"Thank you for your concern, Cesran, and looking out for this one. Your suggestions on treatment were very helpful. I am not suffering any mana poisoning, or side effects from the Sea of Mana. This one was in this condition when we went, though it was not so obvious." Cryosanthia say cheerfully, with a glint in her sapphire eyes.

"Peace on your... nest, Ral-Sara." The whitescale says, emphasizing a word, grinning and showing many teeth, "it will come to him soon, the meaning of the people's greeting and logical conclusions fom that."

Still, the whitescale is self-conscious enough to pull and adjust her corset, and keep Lily on her lap. The little pinkscale stares with admiration at the talking dragon staff, waving hello with her wooden sword.

Bina tsks and boops Shya's nose. "I just said I don't want to say others are wrong. I will not. They are right when they say demons and devils are evil. But I truely believe, even now, that Rupi was on the way to being closer to human and 'good'. That what she needed was time to soak in what is normal for humans and to be given a chance to change rather then being persecuted just for being." She then nods to Mercy. "The choice to form pact with Rupi."

"This is a gobber invention, I believe Cryosanthia." Seyardu explains when she returns with the bottle, one for Cryosanthia, and one for Lily, both opened with a claw and poured into glasses. "They use machines to force air into the liquid, so it gets bubbly without fermentation."

The other bottles are opened as well, and offered to those at the table.

"You are, the Tarien temple did not see what you are doing?" Seyardu asks, a singular brow raised. "That does not seem in line with the teachings I have heard in the past, but perhaps they were forced into the decision. I am not saying they are wrong but, are luckbringers not supposed to be less rigid in their interpretations, to seek the good?"

"It's the fact that Rupi is a demon, Seysey.", Irshya says softly. "Only the worst of the worst go to the hells, and become demons. If they were redeemable, they would not fall so far. Being a demon IS their sentence." She eyes Sabina sidelong. "Not saying it is impossible. But it is practically so. You don't /accidentally/ become a demon."

Verna accepts a bottle of the bubbly liquid, though does not immediately partake. "The temples, being with the city, have a confluence with the city, its administration, and its laws. One can and does influence the other, to varying degrees at varying times."

"Jerboba." Cryosanthia says softly, her head lowered protectively over Lily as she stares in Sabina and Irshya's direction. "Ezil told him to sit in his Varda and do nothing, and he did."

Another huff of a breath, she alternates hands, passing warming gloves over Little Fang, "Griva said Asumit had a legion of demons, bound and doing absolutely nothing, simply to annoy them. So, they can be neutralized even if they're not safe. The small ones."

Cryo curls her tail up, into her lap and over Lily's back. "I have no idea what immersing one in a regular environment would do. I'm sorry I wasn't more helpful. My experiences with ..." She looks down at Lily, abandons the sentence.

Changes topic, "There are waterways inland. Fjords, rivers and swamps. Ponds, lakes. Rada can reach you that way, Irshya. If there are no other options, vows or obeisances 'Bina? To earn your Temple's good graces? I agree with Seyardu, it sounds unusually harsh for the servants of the Silver Knight."

She accepts both glasses, handing one to Lily, thrumming loudly to drown out the conversation for her youngling.

Aryia was sipping on her drink after she rejoined the table, her not catching or ignoring the faux pas. Oh, right. The staff. She waves to them too.

Bina nods to Verna and then Seyardu. "The head priests were..impressed by my ernest desire to reform Rupi. And my conviction not to let go the pact. They praised me for that and then scolded me for forming the pact in the first place. They allowed me to leave though. Allowed me to 'fix' the situation before they had to take care of things themselves. And so I came back here and told her I cared for her. That I wanted her to be happy. And that I wanted her to be alive, so she had to go and then stay away from me." She smiles sadly. "And the rascal took my mask with her when she left, as a memento." She laughs and shakes her head and then moves towards the stairs. "Pardon me.. going to check to make sure I stil have all my underthings in my drawer."

It does take Cesran a half a moment to realize what's going on and he gives a brighter smile to Cyrosanthia, "Congratulations then. Will you be returning to Am'shere then?" He asks curiously as he doesn't know if the Sith-makar's that are here have set up a nesting place.

He moves to take down a chair to sit down in and he lets his staff stand on her own. "I'm sorry to hear that this establishment is closing down for good. I hope that you can both be happy. If you need any help please feel free to call on me and I shall try to lend assistance."

Irshya stares after Sabina, watching her leave. Wiping her eyes, she turns wordlessly and resumes her kitchen duties. It will be rabbit stew for lunch. And dinner. Breakfast too, if it's the first meal of the day.

"They are almost always agents of chaos..." Verna notes as Sabina departs. Perhaps in reference to the memento, or perhaps to Sabina's departure. Fiends and Tarienites may well have that tendency in common.

Aryia gives Sabina a pat on the shoulder as she steps past to check on her belongings. A sigh leaves her, her shaking her head at the situation. It's all shit.

She gives a little nod at Verna's note. But.... could a fiend truly be redeemed?

She drinks.

Angels can fall... no?

Cryosanthia smiles as the Archmage comprehends without explanation. She shakes her head slightly, "To Mictlan, this one has acquaintances there. Am'shere is further and the swamps are not safe, not as much as the nesting grounds in Mictlan. This one can receive visitors without them needing to traverse the portal."

She tilts her head, glancing at the free-standing shaft, "This one was interested in... oh you mean Sabina, and Irshya. Yes. They need all the help they can get. No ear would be swayed by your words? Stave off this 'fix' that must occur? Can you teleport an entire building?"

The whitescale knows of one that can. Two even. Some buildings get around.

Seyardu gives Sabina a parting hug, before she finds a stool to sit down at the table as well. She pours herself a glass of the cider, and nods. "Those who follow Tarien, there is a chaos, yes, but it is never an unkind one, or should not be. They are adaptable, and seek new ways to help, explore options others would not think to do."

At talk of fixes, the silver makari nods to Cesran as well. "You are an experienced wizard, perhaps something can be done. I will not hold out hope for remaining here but, maybe, something can be worked out."

Mercy watches a number of people leave. She ponders the revelation that there was Indeed a demon here at the TaRaCe. But also that the Temple had apparently approved. Sabina leaves before she can add her own questions. so instead she goes back to listening and drinking her mulled wine.

"I'll be sure to come visit you when you go to keep you up to date on what's going on. You are interested in what?" Cesran asks and he hmms, "Well normally I don't involve myself in politics. I try to be a good citizen and the city leaves me be. I can't teleport an entire building without some pretty hefty magic. I'm sorry if I'm not fully up to speed on the situation. I've been delving pretty hard into researching topics of the utmost importance to get a better understanding and try to work out some plan to combat them. I'm sorry I can't speak more openly of them, but unfortunately our personal privacies are non-existent, for the most part. From what I've gathered the TaRaCe is being forced to shut down because of Sabine's connection with her demon Rupi. Do I have that correct?"

Verna now sips at her bubblig cider experimentally. "Translocating an entire structure is not unheard of, but highly atypical." She takes a moment to survey the interior. "Dismantled, transported, and subsequently reassembled would be more feasible."

To Cesran, she suggests, "Sabina stated intent to depart the city for that reason. Her departure may cause the establishment to relocate, close permanently, or possibly be attended by others as it is."

Aryia bobs her head at Cesran's observation. "Basically. She didn't break the pact, so she has to leave else they'll go after her."

If he didn't have any personal privacy, then did any of them? What was it that Cryo said, give them a show?

The mute flips the bird to the ceiling. <Handspeech>

"If relocation is truly necessary, and magic is not an option, well, this one can help with transporting things." She offers, though with the owners out now, it was mostly a symbolic gesture. She nods to Cesran, understanding of what he says. "You do not need to speak if you can not or it is not safe to. I trust your work is important, and you are handling it the best you can. It seems that her pact is the problem, as it is what she was most likely kept at the temple over. And the declarations in the tribune most likely have the links to it."

Seyardu then turns to Aryia, and she looks up to the ceiling. Perhaps they were still being watched, but she would not let it control her, now.

"This one would appreciate that greatly, Cesran, and yes. 'Bina told the demon to leave and it did. She. She did. This one is used to always being watched, I understand." The whitescale raises her left hand. It's gloved, with a nice white glove that has her arcane mark on it. Further significance of the gesture is obscure. She waves towards Verna, "Neither broke their pact, so the city will be coming after her."

A glance a the door, "Soon." She redoubles the comforting noise she's making for Lily, "A bracelet of friends. Perhaps two bracelets. This one came across it."

Her tail curls a little tighter around Lily, hugging her to her stomach, "In case we needed emergency help. This one thought of asking you, perhaps Serene."

As for teleporting buildings, that explanation gets another nod. She didn't think it would be easy. Her gaze is drawn across the empty restaurant. The sun has moved, the shafts of sunlight fall on the three statues which have been placed on the floor. Dust dances in the light, granting them all halos.

"I'm sorry that someone has to leave because of such reason. What she is attempting is a very noble thing, but given the recent and reoccurring demon attack on the city. I can understand why the city doesn't want a demon, even one bound by a pact here. I don't agree with it. Any sweeping decision made like that is going to hurt someone. I'm sorry that I didn't get to spend more time here." Cesran hmms, "A bracelet of friends, an interesting thought. I would be willing, but I'll have to look into how that would react with the spell I've put upon myself to be unfindable."

He smiles at Seyardu, "Thank you your confidence in me is appreciated. I'm very good at gathering information, but typically share my findings with my companions and we come up with a solution together. I'm hopeful that once I've gathered all that I can I can set up a safe place and we can formulate a plan."

Mercy finishes her mulled wine and quietly walks out.

Aryia purses her lips, her letting the conversation roll on beside her. Her eyes settling on the statues. Silently, she rises, walking up to the them with a drink half full in hand.

Whatever silent conversation she has with them is unknown. But there was a lot of squinting.

"It is unlikely that you are the only one gathering information, Cesran," Verna notes. She may be making some presumptions on topics, but there are only so many looming dooms casting shadows over the area.... or so one would hope. "It is good to share what your are able, when your are able, where you are able."

"So Sabina will go." Seyardu sighs at the declaration. "It seems Rupi was sweeped up in the rest of the business here, I only hope it means that other business will be handled appropriately. Yet this one feels shooing away a succubus trying earnestly to seek reform, from the sounds of it, comparing that to trying to fix everything else, it feels like a hollow gesture."

At mention of this, Seyardu seems to think for a moment. "This one knows of magic, that would allow this one to attune to a safe place." She suggests to Cryosanthia. "I would not be able to leave at a moment's notice, but with aid of certain catalysts, I could manage it. But I would need a day's notice for the travel, but arrival would be instantaneous."

"Thank you Cesran." Cryosanthia says, dipping her nose towards the Archmage, staring at him, with emotionless, gem-like eyes. "Thank you, for taking me to Am'shere, for assisting after I was brought back from the wilderness, for your determination with Lily, and what you continue to do now."

"This one owes you her life and her future, and would not ask you unduly for more. I will help how I can," although the whitescale's options are becoming limited. "Whenever you can find out, that will be fine."

Movement draws her attention back towards the statues. At Aryia standing before them. The way the light falls around her, how the mul'niessa's movements have disturbed the motes in the air, making them swirl like a snow globe. The illumination of Ceinara's carved face, how it seems to stare at her.

She is always watched.

Cryosanthia stands, lifting Lily over to Seyardu's lap, into which the kobold squirms happily. White smiles at silver. "This one will wish to speak about that further, but, the stage is empty and my goddess is watching."

She moves gracefully towards it, she is still a dancer even if she's got a little more encumbrance. Her motions are elegant, well balanced and her tail only a little higher than usual for counterbalance. In one fluid leap she's on the stage and moving to the centre of it, shaking out her arms.

Aryia looked to be standing in defiance of the statues, rather in reverence. Almost picturesque in the rays of light. She breaks that illusion by cracking her neck.

The elf glances to the movement with Cryosanthia getting on stage. Picking up what the whitescale was putting down, Aryia looks to the last of her drink and abandons the glass at a table.

It'll probably be the last time she's in here. Might as well make it memorable.

"I'll have you know that someone thinks I'm rather graceful," she snips playfully, her hopping up on stage as well to join as a backup dancer.

Despite how... horrendous that would be. <Handspeech>

Seyardu looks around for Jinks, hoping he would start up some music for the show. Seyardu gently hugs Lily as she is set down in her lap, watching the dancing for a moment.

She looks to the statues, that Aryia was seeming to stand against, and back to the stage. "Shall we dance with them? Not on the stage, as this one may get in the way with their clumsiness, but, dancing and music are supposed to be enjoyed. And this opportunity should not be passed up, as Aryia has shown." She offers to the Kobold, before she leaves her seat, setting Lily down to go and dance near the stage.

It was, perhaps more horrendous than Aryia, even. But enjoyable in spite of that.

"Youa re right Verna I have been meaning to ask others about the research that I'm doing, betting more current information than just what I can try to research out of books. It's just the information that I know about has started to make me a bit paranoid about being watched all the time via scrying. I know I am protected, but I worry about others. The last attempt where the fact that we are being scryed upon almost constantly ended in rather disastrous results. A lot of innocent people were killed because the proper precautions weren't taken to insure that our enemy didn't know what we were doing." Cesran says with a deep sigh.

"You are welcome Cryosanthia, I never would leave anyone behind especially if they were hurt. It's my responsibility given the powers that I have to use my magic to help any and all that I can. If any of you should wish to talk about what is going on in the city, both to give me information in a safe place or to hear what I've learned I do set up a safe space every day at a different location so that we are not physically tracked as well as magically tracked. Arrangements can be made."

Merek walks into the place and looks to be wearing the usual dark attire he often does, while the hood is up on it. He does take a look about the place, and notices the people at the table. He nods a bit that way, while he walks on towards all of the people with a wave. It is difficult to tell why he's about. Those that know about him being with the Iron Book would probably note he's about looking into things with what the sign says.

Verna simply nods to Cesran. Further discussion of the topic, especially in detail, seems possibly inappropriate at the moment, if not generally unwise. Neither does she rise up to join in any form of dancing. This is also deemed wholly inappropriate for the moment and entirely unwise. She will, at least, finish her bottle of bubbling cider and serve as an audience member until her duties recall her down the street.

"Dancingss too!" Lily shouts, as Seyardu sets her down. There's something in the air, something how her Ssassa, everyone smells. She wants, needs to be a part of it. She scrambles under the tables then up onto the stage, standing in front of Cryosanthia.

The whitescale smiles down at her youngling, then over at Aryia, "It's on the threes, like this, bish-bish-bosh." She places her hands on her hips and rocks them, a double pump in one direction and a larger one opposite. Simple and smooth. "It's not all that energetic. I could do energetic still, but not for this. Follow my hips, the tail lags."

Turning, Cryo faces out at the almost empty hall. She inhales and rises up on her toes. You're on stage, audience of seven. Her arms move first, drawing her shoulders into it, arcane gestures she uses to summon her spells. Here, there on her body, symbols start to glow a pale blue. Her markings light up, cracks, patterns and stripes. Swirls of light sparkle, starting at her chest and spreading out to her fingertips.

Glowing, ghostly forms appear behind her, taking on vague sith-like forms. Her hips move, swaying as she described, and a music starts up, more phantom music that fills the space. Simple, straightforward, a tambourine and the lonely whine of strings. She lowers her voice, something husky, deep. With eyes closed, she almost sounds masculine.

"Ah we're drinking and we're dancing"
"And the band is really happening"
"And the Temple Stalker's wisdom running high"
"And our very sweet companion"
"She's the Angel of Compassion"
"She's holding half the world back with her smile"

Cryo sways, hips rocking, arms outstretched and indicating upstairs. There's no doubt whom she means.

Cesran turns his attention towards the performance that's going on here and he settles back to watch. The markings that light are up are noted and he taps his foot gently in time with the beat.

Aryia is a bit surprised by all the lights and show, even doubting herself despite the shot of liquid courage. But she steels herself. Only friends were here.

Friends that she made in this very place.

She's late a few measures, but the mute joins in on simple dance, it lacking most of the confidence the silverscale had, but it didn't lack in spirit.

She does a spin on one beat, flaring a hand skyward as four globes of soft, milk white light hover around herself and Cryosanthia, them gentle spinning in a circle above them. The shadow elf's eyes blazing bright under the prose.

She dances with no remorse. Memories can be made. Buildings could be built up once more.

But with friends like these, such bonds can never be replaced.

And that makes her tearily smile.

Lily joined her Sassa on the stage, but a performance still needed an audience, especially one as heartfelt as this. The pace was slow enough that even the uncoordinated silverscale could keep pace, even if she could not pick out the specifics of the movements. It was heartfelt from both sides of the stage. The Tarrace was a place where the cleric learned to relax, to make friends, and share stories with people.

The last time she had danced, it was due to being forced to. This time, it was because she wanted to. A final chance to learn more from the place, and those who made the place what it was.

There was a happiness from the silverscale, and sadness at the same time. An acknowledgement of everything that happened, the good stirred in their life, and remorse there may be no more to come from the place. But no matter what happened, it would not change what she had experienced and learned, things that would remain with her for the rest of her life."

Sabina desired to make everyone smile, so she would keep a smile on her face until she left.

Cryosanthia keeps dancing, a flickering light show as her scales sparkle and she directs the ghostly dancers and phantom music and performs a slow, sinusous dance where she sways and her tail arcs behind her, leaving an after-trail of light on the dim stage.

Lily stomps around, completely off beat, enjoying herself and the attention even if it might more towards her Ssassa. They will have to see through her first!

The Sith'Makari can not cry. They have other ways of expressing grief and sadness. A mournful wailing adds to the music, an unexpected noise even for the whitescale. This performance is moving deeply. She feels a sense of loss, at the out of control hurtle that has gripped everyone lately, and pours it into her song.

"We miss you now since your place got wrecked"
"By the winds of change and what happens next"
"It looks like freedom but it feels like death"
"It's something in between, I guess"
"It's closing time"

Cryosanthia's eyes go wide, her pupils filling them. It's goodbye, it's an end. The casual relaxation and the craziness, this sanctuary of hers is closing. She won't lose her friends, but they've lost a part of their world. While new doors are opening, she is overcome by a sadness for what has happened, what has changed. The heavy emotion sinks into the final parts of the song.

"And we lift each glass to the awful truth"
"Which you can't reveal to the ears of youth"
"Except to say. It wasn't worth a damn"
"And the whole damn place goes crazy twice"
"The food was great and the baths were nice"
"But the world don't care about our crazy likes"
"We're busted in the blinding lights"
"Of closing time"
"It's closing time."

It's closing time.
