A Teacher Meeting: Sarcis

A couple days ago, Sarcis met with Svarshen, Durrankar, and Wassal. They had a meeting of sorts about The Teacher. It was during this that Sarcis discovered many of these are linked, on both sides of the portal, and it's a job that will require much delicacy. The Sith-makar people have suffered many hardships, and now they have found themselves in the middle of a political upheaval of sorts. The Teacher on one side, possibly with dragon blood, and the Empress on the other.

Sarcis can't help but wonder exactly where this all came from, and if they -- the people on this side of the portal -- are partly to blame for this whole mess. It's a curious thought, to ponder if we are the source now for the consternation of that people - both political and not. There are no clear answers of course, only more questions. Always with the questions. Thus becomes the life of the Inquisitor.

Teachers and Divisions: Un'eth

Svarshan spoke again of The Teacher, a Sith-makar shaman with aggressive and expansionist ideals, to Durrankar and Un'eth. Concerns of his growing following and the catastrophe should the Sith attack the softskins in open war were all discussed, along with Svarshan's hope that they, especially Un'eth, could seek out this faction and allay their concerns of the softskins to prevent a bloody, needless war, either against the softskins or even a civil war amongst the Sith.

The Teacher Returns?: Svarshan

Hearing more and more of attacks by the Green and by what appeared to be fanatical scaled, Svarshan was moved to think it tied to Heth, and his manipulations. Further conversations pointed though, to an old cult leader. With their children enslaved and mass slaughtered by Charn and greedy arcane enclaves after a cheap source of blood, the Teacher took advantage of sith-makar fear, and began to convince some of them that all softskins were monsters. This faction stands opposed to the Empress and her allies.

So, what to do? He's spent over a decade among Myrddion and Alexandria, and one thing he knows is the adventuring tendency to assume 'I know the answers, because I'm badass.' Going to Am'shere and saying 'I know what's wrong and you should do what I say' would be like a Veyshanti going to the Dran. And how do you explain the problem, the real problem, is the propogation of fear and unchecked predation?

Charn's and wizard, artifice-academy actions have gone on for decades. Seeking a new approach and salvation for her people, the Empress is fighting for them to be seen on the international level, as people. With the same international rights scribed to other nations.

And they've made PROGRESS, which is why the Teacher is lashing out.

He talks with Un'eth and Durrankar, sharing his concerns--that certain assumptions could make it worse, and the difficulty in countering fear. Perhaps they could bring in dragon-blooded among the softskins, in a cultural exchange? The stakes are high. In Khazad Duin, the people's ambassador had been approached publicly by the Charneth ambassador who in exchange for 'letting bygones be bygones, just leave us your children and your fellows to our slavecampes' that 'we'll recognize you as...something.'

The Charn cared so little that they announced this to the world.

Removing the Teacher and his cult, and countering the Charneth, the arcane academies, would be a long process.
