It's Variday, Callem 29 18:13:51 1018. The full moon isn't up. The tide is high and slack. The sun sets, the western clouds turning purple, red, and gold. It's hazy and warm.

W02: The Light Woods

Of all the sights in the woods, few expect to see a full armored knight. A broad shield across his back and sword at his waist. Despite his heavy armor, heavy footsteps and colorful appearance he does not appear to be lost, instead wandering the woodpaths whistling a tune to himself and occasionaly even a skip despite the weight of his gear.

A griffon shrieks far overhead, and when he is visible between the forest canopy, the purple-orange light of the sunset reflects off of his barding. On the ground, a Sylvanori male steps out from between a pair of trees, that seem to close behind him leaving no trace of him. This elf is also wearing highly shiny armor, and is also carrying a nocked, but not drawn composite longbow. Out of the corner of your eye, you may catch a ghostly image of stag's antlers issuing from the elf's head, but these cannot be discerned when looking properly. The elf glances at the knight, and stops stalking... whatever it is he was pursuing. He says, "Good evening."

Hun'rar looks up when he hears the voice, taking off his helmet to see a little better. "Hello! Good travels to you. Hunting anything good out here?" he inquires cheerfully. "Deer or boar perhaps?"

Ga'Elian smiles, "Indeed I am. This boar, though is of a brutish, even primitive sort. At least that is what I surmise from the carnage I saw a few furlongs back. 'Tis possible that it be a wereboar, but more likely than that, 'tis probably a dire boar."

Hun'rar looks up "Well theres no full moon so a wereboar seems unlikely. either way, blessings of Gilead on your hunt. Although I would take care to keep a good sturdy spear on you in case it charges, the first arrow rarely fells them. Especially if Dire."

Ga'Elian chuckles, "Thou art probably right, sir, but I carry no spears. My shafts fly sure and swift enough, though, that I rather like my odds. What be thy business this evening, out of curiosity?"

Hun'rar nods "Well I hope your arrows fly true then. I am on my way to the druids cove to ask Gilead to bless my sword. I recently got it enchanted and now wish to have his blessings in hunting his enemies." he adds patting he sword at his side.

Ga'Elian looks duly pleased. He says, "Wonderful. Which sort of enemies particularly?" As he asks, he puts the arrow back into his quiver and then stows the bow itself, although the quiver is only about a third the size of the bow. He draws the bastard sword from the scabbard on his back and says, "Soon, I hope to do similarly with this."

Hun'rar grins "No, none in particular. Or rather only what comes before me and needs to be hunted, I am a Warden and guardian first." he comments with a shrug, despite the heavy armor.

Ga'Elian nods, "That is well. Hast thou spent any time guarding the Ygdrasssil Tree against possible assailants? I have from time to time, and usually find it most rewarding. The fae creatures that dwell thereabouts are most lively, and bear a certain affinity to the tribes of my people. I find it refreshing."

Hun'rar raises an eyebrow "You traveled to the Fae realm? Or perhaps you mean something besides the actual tree? Certainly it would be a mighty endevour but I have not been called to do so. If I were to go anywhere it would be back to the jungles of Am'Shere, that is a place to really sharpens your wits."

Ga'Elian replies, "Well, some time ago I was swimming in a river hereabouts with a couple others when a band of satyrs came upon us, and on another couple of occasions I was with Durrankar, a shaman of the Sith'makar, in the Druid Grove, and there were nymphs, pixies, and sprites about. The current Tree of this grove is a successor to the originally planted seedling, that was destroyed some decades ago. Since then, several of us who are rangers and other wardens of the Ygdrassil Union spend our time guarding the grove from would-be desecrators."

Hun'rar grins "Very good. I shall have to make a point of stopping by. I have been spending most of my time with the arcane casters in the city to help me with my own arcane powers and to unleash the power, if any, hidden in my blood. I will make a point of it though."

Ga'Elian sheaths his sword again and says, "The White Stag bless thine endeavors, then. By the way, I am Ga'Elian, and how art thou called?"

Hun'rar snaps off a salute "Hun'rar de Villefort, a pleasure and the blessings of the Great Hunting Dragon on you as well. I must really be going though, if you don't mind. Like to be ready for the blessing at dawn." he notes putting his helmet back on.

Ga'Elian bows and says, "And I should resume my hunt. Fare thee well." He draws his bow again and an arrow, then nocks it as he departs back into the woods on the trail of his porcine quarry.
