PrP: The Costumes and the Manor

You have all been slipped a message, a heavily clothed figure at around human height bumped you and pressed the piece of paper into your hand...and then he was gone, slipped into the crowd, or in some cases disappearing altogether. The note said the same thing, a city official looking for aid. In secret.

The note reads:

You have been selected, in some way everyone chosen has shown themselves to be capable of trust and skill. I require help in no small matter, and it is somewhat delicate. You will be compensated if that is your desire, but meet me tonight at the Tipsy Teetotaler at dusk, there will be a private booth reserved under the name of Sir August O'bane.

<OOC> Percival says, "Everyone will be meeting at The Tipsy Teetotaler"

Vuk Aleksy! Adventurer Extradionare! Gobber of many talents! Why of course he was selected, a dashing gent, of mystery! Intrigue! Impressive stature!<By gobber Standards> And he was dressed in his best fineries for the occasion <He had his exotic hide dapper outfit of most exqusite virtue and expense for this secret mission.> He'll waste no time when the appointed hour comes, leaving his wolf outside along with his rifle, swaggering a bit as he enters with his blade on his belt, doffing his top hat at those he passes.

While Charlotte finds the note interesting, she slips the note into her coat until the appointed time. She arrives at the Tipsy Teetotaler in her usual coat, pants, boots, and her saber at her side. She doesn't order anything yet, but she does sit at a table, looking for the table of Sir August o'Bane.

<OOC> Percival says, "Ranth will be joining us, I'll catch him up in private"

GAME: Garak refreshes spells.

Lorien makes his way along to the Teetotaler himself though he seems to, as always, be wearing his finest silks with his cloak about his form, glancing about curiously.

Garak enters the Teetotaler soon after, glancing around to take in the deciration and clientele. He consults his note one last time and then slios it away.

Arrives at the Tipsy Teetotaler at the stated time, eager to prove himself. He wears his well shined heart themed breastplate and keeps a set of claws of attack at his side. Ranth immediately sits down once the booth is identified.

The Tipsy Teetotaler is a very small establishment, most people would miss it behind a small resale shop ... and then down a staircase! It was rather cramped in the front room, a small table and coat rack are here and the table is taken up by a group of gnomes turning the air fowl with pipesmoke.

The bar room, if it can be called that is practically a hallway, there's the bar, the barstool and just enough room to squeeze by. Beyond the bar, are some stairs going down. There are only a couple of people sitting in the barstools, but neither seem interested if you, staring intently into mugs that contain a thick and dark liquid. The bartender, a rather old Half-Oruch eyeing you coldly, simply stood there wiping a dirty glass with a dirty rag.

Finding nowhere to sit, Ranth walks up to the bartender and whispers "Sir August o'Bane" to him conspiratorily.

Lorien settles at the bar or abouts, with his silks and cloak, adjusting them, and then blinks a bit at the mugs they seem to have. The youth folds his hands and agrees, "Ayup, that name," he says idly, hearing another.

Vuk seems most perplexed by this, there seems to be no private booth, so he'll carefully climb up onto a stool to address the bar keep. "My good Sir! I am on a matter of business, I am to understand one Sir August O'bane has reserved space for his company! Might you direct me to him?" He asks the Barkeep..who can probably eat him.

<OOC> Vuk throws stealth out the door! >>

When you approach the bar, the bartender snarls and says in common, "You guys here to talk wit' August?" The two patrons, a human and a unhealthily molted Egalrin turned to look at the orc slowly, then to those entering. The Egalrin shook his head and took a gulp of the black drink before him, and wincing at the taste. The bartender thrusts him thumb towards the stairs down, and growls. "Downstairs and to the left."

Garak is headed for the bartender himself but the others beat him to it. He looks momentarily surprised at the directions but then heads for the stairs.

Charlotte is suddenly glad she isn't standing with the gobber. As soon as the bartender gives the directions, Charlotte slides him a few copper pieces and makes her way down the steps....

Vuk will doff his hate and drop a silver piece on the bar. "Wonderful good sir! Most splendid!" he says and doffs his hat before making his way down the stairs!

Lorien stands up, and makes his way to the steps, slowly, hands at the cloak as his scarf billows about his form a bit from the movement.

The two at the bar stare at the silver piece before the Half Oruch snatches it and bites it with one of his few teeth left and slips it in his pocket, "Yeah, whatever. Don't make a mess of things."

Ranth purses his lips and furrows his caveman-like brow pensively at the gobber's lack of discretion and heads for the stairs. As the stairs go down it comes to a hallway the quickly reaches a four-way intersection, the other three directions each leading to a single door at the end of their hallways. The doors to the left and to the front are silent, but deep bass thuds can occasionally be heard from the door on the right.

Ranth heads left.

Lorien keeps walking along, waiting to see where everyone else goes.

Vuk hrms quietly at the intersection, so he'll pensively wait. Loud noises in an establishment like this? May not be healthy to check on!

Charlotte watches Ranth quietly, but stays close by. She's thinking it's the one on the right, but waits for Ranth check first.

The door is made from dark oaken wood, and silence can only be heard on the other side

<OOC> Percival says, "Sorry, that was for Ranth, who approached the left door" <OOC> Charlotte nodnods.

Ranth opens the door and walks inside.

<OOC> Vuk thinks we all have Whirlie survival instincts..let some one else go first. <OOC> Garak has to take a quick phone call sorry

The door is locked, whenever you try and open it there is some rustling from the inside and a grate opens near the top, "Who's there?"

Ranth says, "Sir August o'Bane."" Ranth smiles confidently.

The door opens and the inside is little more than an empty room with a large table, big enough to sit six people. The person you're speaking to is a human, black hair slicked back on his head and wearing peasant's clothes, his mannerisms and how he held himself easily betray him as one of some worth. "Good, I'm glad you came. For now, you can call me August, but I prefer to get down to brass tacks. Are you alone? There were others..."

Lorien sneaks up a bit behind Ranth, and tries peeking about his shoulder, "HI!" he exclaims loudly to the man that opens the door.

Ranth moves aside to allow the others inside.

Charlotte walks on in as well. She doesn't mind being wrong. She nods to August as he introduces himself. "What's seems to be the problem?"

Gobber Ago! Vuk will stride in like he had JUST arrived and hadn't been waiting for Ranth to open the door. "Greetings Good Sir! I'm Vuk Aleksy! Adventurer extradionare! Solver of myriad mysteries and intrigues! Collector of Curio! Camp Steward of some renown and fame! Slayer of the undead! Guardian of Paths best left untrodden!" He introdces him self with a bow at the waist and flourish of his top hat.

<OOC> Percival says, "We will assume Garak is tagging along, phone calls are understood"

Ranth sits at the table and rests his elbows on his surface. "I like the cut of your jib, August. I'm Ranth Horson."

Sir August sat back down in the chairs, letting everyone find their seats. "Good...good, I am glad you came. Welcome, everyone, I assure you this will be worth your time. Please, just listen a moment then you may ask your questions after you know what I am here about."

August pulled out a pipe and packed some sweet smelling tobacco, the vanilla scent quite evident in the room immediately, and took a moment to start a red glow deep in the bowl . "There's a small noble house, named Landon." He began, smoke pouring from his lips as he spoke. "We have reason to believe the family received shipments of goods that were stolen in ambush of the road. A great many of them were artifacts of historical import, ones that can be verified by their previous owners, if you catch what I'm saying."
He paused and glanced down at his pipe, grumbling as he fiddled with the partially burnt tobacco in it before putting flame back to it and creating another glowing ember. "The egotist is throwing a party tomorrow night, a costume party to be precise. My sources say there's going to be something else too...it's an auction, and of what I can't imagine" He added sarcastically, and pointing to the others in the room. "I need you to go to the party, and I need you to get invited into this auction." He leans in on the table conspiratorially, and to pointedly to them, "He only lets people he likes into the auction, so if you don't stand out to him, you don't have a chance. It could be anything, just make him think you're something special from the rest of the rabble. You'll also have access to my funds for the auction, use it wisely, and use it on something that we can prove heir guilt with."

Lorien folds his arms, and listens, nodding a bit, "Oh, I'm special already," he says. Ayup. That's his story.

<OOC> Charlotte says, "Hmmm....would Landon be known quite well in the noble community?"

Vuk can sense a challenge in this! He has to stand out..but not be him self..Well! FORTUNATELY..VUK IS ALSO JIBBOM!

<OOC> Percival says, "Charlotte, please roll Know(Nobility) if you have it"

GAME: Charlotte rolls knowledge/nobility: (20)+6: 26

You paged Charlotte with 'The Landon household has been in nobility for quite a few generations, and were once one of the more powerful nobles, but ill fortune struck them down and took many of their suitors down with them. The talk is that this party is an attempt to change that luck. You actually have heard of some things that most people do not know, it is rumored that Mrs. Landon has been sexually mischevious, and while her husband has minor suspiscions, it is not enough for him to take any actions.'

Ranth jumps at the chance to put his armoring and sculpting skills to the test and agrees to the job immediately.

<OOC> Percival says, "I'm giving Charlotte a moment to ask any other questions she may have. Anyone else may also ask questions" <OOC> Vuk says, "Oh. Uh. ..this house Landor... species?" <OOC> Percival says, "They are human, that is well known enough"

Charlotte pages: would Mr. Landon invite someone that is able to talk to him? or would Mrs. landon 'swing either way'?

<OOC> Vuk says, "there went infiltration by being the drunk cousin!"

You paged Charlotte with 'I'm not sure I understand the question'

Ranth says, "What do I have access to to buuild my costume with?"

Charlotte pages: You mentioned Sexually mischievious.....

Inferno has arrived.

You paged Charlotte with 'Oh, you mean finding out about Mrs. Landon's deviancy and telling Mr. Landon about it? Possibly, you don't really know'

From afar, Charlotte doesn't think telling the mister would get Charlotte in his good graces....

Sir August leans back, eyeing Ranth. "If you have no costume of your own, you can simply get a mask or have someone make you something more elaborate. It is whatever you wish."

Charlotte smiles a little bit as August mentions the Landon family. "So you think they've been stealing minor artifacts to change the bad luck they've been having lately?" She says with a rather coy smile. "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier, August. Charlotte Van Norse of Myrridon. It's a pleasure." She then thinks for a moment. "SO we're going to have to vie for his attention. Individually, or as a group?"

Vuk is already plotting his entrance as Jibbom. "Fear not my good sirs and ma'ams! You can all come as part of my new entourage! I shall be

Jibbom Baron Von Steele! Man of Mystery and means! Esquire! Intrigue! Daring rogue! Beloved of Lady Sandiel!"

<OOC> Vuk says, "pssst, Inferno you RP Jibbom right? Whats his current crazy title?" <OOC> Ranth says, "Can I utilize my armorsmith skills and sculpture skills to fashion a costume?" <OOC> Inferno says, "He has /tons/ of made up ridiculous titles. His favorite is Steel Von Ironblood, Bane of the Night."

Lorien says, "I'm fine being me. I'm already beautiful."

<OOC> Vuk just going to make up some more then and claim Sandy kissed him under a cactus on the plane of sand. <OOC> Charlotte thinks One Jibbom is enough.

August states with a smile, "Due to the efforts of some of our good citizens, we have received a list of dates and goods that were shipped. We believe some of these were shipped to the Landon's manor. Many of the items taken were valuable because of their history." He turned to Vuk and nodds happily, "I'm glad you seem excited by the prospect, I look forward to seeing your results." He then turns to Lorien, "Unfortunately, a costume is required to gain entry, if you feel uncomfortable wearing something elaborate, a simple masquerade mask is good enough."

He reached into his pouch and handed them each a scroll, "Here are your invitations, we had a very skilled scribe forge them for us. You shouldn't have a problem. Be there, at the Landon mansion tomorrow at dusk. I'm counting on you."

Vuk will wait for his invitation and then quickly doff his hat to each member, he has work to do! A costume to fix up! New stories to spin! It's off to his home to prepare!

Garak takes the scroll and hefts it carefully, as if weighing it. Then he nods. "Of course. Such villainy will not go unpunished." He puts the scroll away and runs his gaze over the other party members. "I'll see all of you tomorrow then?" Charlotte smiles quietly. "I have my own mask and costume, August. We shall enjoy ourselves." She then takes the invitation. "Thank you. We shall try and be subtle." And she looks at the gobber......

Ranth immediately says his goodbyes and good lucks and leaves to shop for costume supplies to fashion an elaborate but functional costume. On the way out from August's private room, you see a woman sneaking out of the room that the thuds were heard from earlier. She was human from what you could see under the hood of her robes, and she scowled in your direction before hurrying back upstairs and disappearing outside. Behind her, in the door, stood a small Lucht Siuil, in just his skivvies. "Goodbye, Madam Landon. Thank you for your time."

Lorien makes his way onwards and adjusts his cloak. Likely to get a masquarade mask, or something.

Vuk takes mental notes, sure an odd place for a noble to be! Naive Gobber is Naive!

<OOC> Percival says, "Unless anyone has anything to do at this obviously ... fine establishment, we can begin your preparations." <OOC> Vuk says, "I really hope no one has to stop and play with the locals in their skivvies -.-" <OOC> Ranth says, "Ready to roll"

Charlotte makes mental notes as well, like what this Lucht looks like and such, and what the woman, who is Mrs. landon, when she leaves.

Garak pauses at the name 'Landon', forcing himself not to look in that direction. Once outside he speaks in a low voice to the others. "Madam Landon...?"

Ranth says, "Thats guilt by association. Lady was probably just trying to earn a living."

You paged Garak with 'To try and catch you up real quick, You're going to a costume ball to impress a noble so that he will invite you to his auction. It is their hope that in the auction you will be able to purchase an object that they can trace back to merchants that were robbed thereby incriminating that noble house' You paged Garak with 'The Landons are the name of the noble house you are doing this to'

<OOC> Percival says, "You have the next day to prepare and make and checks or purchases that you feel you need. The party starts that evening" <OOC> Vuk is alllll ready! :D <OOC> Percival says, "I will need to know who is preparing something more extravagent to the party" <OOC> Ranth says, "I'd like to make some rolls on sculpture and armorsmithing" <OOC> Percival says, "What would you like to do, Ranth?" <OOC> Lorien can just have a mask right? <OOC> Vuk points at his desc. I am Jibbom! <OOC> Percival says, "Yes, you can, Lorien"

The Avatar Priest that is Jibbom!

Behold! The Priest-Avatar of Jibbom! Clad in splendor, swathes of cacophonic colour! Haphazardly sewn to a black hooded robe. Festooned with the reliquary esque symbols of Jibbom's great acts. The great hood drawn up with the laughing face of Jibbom on the back. The great wings of Jibbom sewn to it's shoulders to flap with no discernable cause! Small bells are woven into the sleeves, and a holy book that seems to be blank, wrapped by chain and tinsel to it's belt.

Yet behold, the sacred love of Jibbom, forever held to it's chest, a figurine of The Lady Sandiel, the sacred love of The Jibbom. It's also surprisingly well made, even if it is pewter, it has been painted wonderfully and sealed in varnish, so it may never chip. In her hands, she holds the Sacred Book of Jibbom, and despite rumors, her hips are proportionate, for would Jibbom ever wish to portray his Sacred Wife in any other way?

Carrying: RIP bendy Dec 17 2013

<OOC> Ranth says, "Disguise myself as a tricked out war golem with fake mechanical components you would see on an artificer" <OOC> Ranth says, "Project Runway style" <OOC> Percival says, "Oh my god, Vuk..." <OOC> Vuk says, "There is no Vuk!" <OOC> Vuk IS JIBBOM! <OOC> Vuk blasts Crazy Train Horn! <OOC> Percival says, "Ranth, for that I will allow you to substitute armorsmithing for Disguise. Vuk, I will need you to roll disguise. This will be done at the gates of the manor. I will now post the rules of the skill challenge" <OOC> Vuk takes 20? :P <OOC> Percival says, "sorry, no taking 20 :3 It's a skill challenge" <OOC> Vuk should get a bonus given how even high level wizards honestly think I am Jibbom ICly even with detect magic saying I'm not. :P <OOC> Ranth says, "Thats a straight d20. I was more wondering about making the actual costume" <OOC> Percival says, "If disguise is better, you may roll that. Since these are cosmetic, I'm not really enforcing gold spending and item creation."

The party will share victory as well as defeat in these skill challenges. There is no combat, and there are no weapons, if for some reason the characters somehow get themselves into combat the skill challenge is considered failed.

Each party member can volunteer to go at any point in the round, it is not initiative based; however, once a party member has acted in a round, they cannot act again until all other party members have acted once. A party member can forego their skill check, if another member has a good idea, and perform an aid action. (Roll the same skill you are helping your party-member get a success with, if your total is 10 or over then your party-member receives a +2 on their roll.

The goal of the skill challenge is to hand control of the plot to the players, you have skills and you have a goal. Think of ways to use your skills to get to the goal, be creative and take risks.

The skill challenge is considered to have been completed if the number of succesful skill rolls reach 10 before the number of failures reach 5. Choose the skills you use carefully, there are always a few sweet skills, ones that tie in with various story hints along the way, that have a very low DC and might give you extra successes. There are also skills that are too implausable and have a DC so high that only the most powerful of PCs can somehow make it work, be careful.

There are secrets in the skills as well, ones that will remove failures and some that will remove successes.

<OOC> Percival says, "Does anyone have any questions?" <OOC> Charlotte says, "Just one. Can I go in as 'myself'? No disguise what-so-ever?" <OOC> Ranth says, "Can I sculpt a mask out of paper mache for free?" <OOC> Percival says, "You must have at least a mask to enter as it is a Costume Party. Yes, Ranth." <OOC> Charlotte is still going in with a mask, don't worry. <OOC> Ranth says, "I make a crazy mask that looks like something out of Gatchaman" <OOC> Percival says, "Alright, anyone have any questions about the skill challenge rules? Or, is everyone good to continue?" <OOC> Lorien says, "I didn't really get what it meant." <OOC> Percival says, "What is your question, Lorien?" <OOC> Lorien says, "Idk." <OOC> Charlotte says, "Oh, what is the theme of the party?" <OOC> Percival says, "There isn't a specific theme, everyone will be dressed in a costume. The Landons are treating the party as a miniature festival" <OOC> Charlotte says, "K." <OOC> Ranth says, "I is ready" <OOC> Charlotte is ready too. <OOC> Vuk says, "Jibbom teim!" <OOC> Percival says, "Lorien, there will be a description of the party grounds. Essentially you will be attempting to impress Mr. Landon and the guests to be invited to the auction. You will do that by using your skills on your +sheet to do so." <OOC> Lorien nods. <OOC> Percival says, "There are different DCs for the skills that I have set, and if you meet the DCs you will get a success. If the party's successes total 10, before the times you do not meet the DCs (the failures) reach 5 then the skill challenge is completed with the party's victory. If 5 failures are reached before 10 successes, then the skill challenge is a failure and you do not get invited." <OOC> Percival says, "does that clear anything up?" <OOC> Vuk says, "makes sense to me!" <OOC> Percival says, "I want to make sure everyone is clear about the rules before we go in. Lorien had questions" <OOC> Charlotte has been in a skill challenge before. <OOC> Lorien says, "I'm okay." <OOC> Percival says, "Okay :3 then we will begin" <OOC> Percival says, "I'm reviewing the skills...you took your time putting everything together during the day, correct Vuk?" <OOC> Vuk says, "Heck Yes." <OOC> Vuk also practiced the Jibbom think, since I'm possibly starting Jibbomism as a religion ICly. :P <OOC> Percival says, "Vuk is the only one putting together something extravagent, and he did so during the day. Vuk is now allowed to make a disguise check at a +1" <OOC> Percival says, "this will be the start of the round, and after his roll I will post the introductory description of the party" <OOC> Ranth says, "I thought I was doing something extravagent too?" GAME: Vuk rolls disguise+1: (14)+2+1: 17 <OOC> Vuk says, "well, not utter crap" <OOC> Percival says, "I thought you were doing a mask, if you are going through with the artificer's outfit, you may roll disguise +1 as well" <OOC> Ranth says, "How do I roll again? I'm a big dummy" <OOC> Percival says, "it is +roll Disguise+1" GAME: Ranth rolls Disguise+1: (6)+0+1: 7 <OOC> Ranth says, "It looks crummy"

The guard glances at the invitation and waves the party through, not paying them any more attention. The gate raises and you are brought into the courtyard, where the main celebration is. He frowns at the patchwork outfit that Ranth has put together, but says nothing to antagonize Lord Landon's guest. As Vuk enters the party, there is an immediate murmuring of shock and awe at his wonderful outfit, he is one of the most flamboyant and interestingly dressed guests at the party.

It is easy to tell where Lord Landon was, he seemed to have a trail of people following him. If he was watched for a small time it's easy to see that he was all over the place. He seemed to wander around from attraction to attraction, almost seeming to be everywhere at once. Most of the time his wife was with him, and she looks familiar, her voice and the way she walks, to someone that was seen in a seedy bar.

The attractions were amazing. Singers, Jugglers and Performers had a stage set up while jugglers wandered around the immediate area. They had small arena where guests cook ride tame horses, there was even a small obstacle course set up. Every now and then a big crowd would gather and someone would attempt to work with an untamed horse, showing their skills.

They had an area where people were sittingand chatting, it seemed to be mostly about random trivia, and they seemed to have some well educated people there. They seemed to be gathered close to the front door of the house. Inside, there were plates and plates of succulent food, pot roasts and chicken, massive meat pies and fruits, steamed vegetables and nearly anythingelse the guests could want. The kitchen is to the back of the dining hall through a small door. In one of the corners of the room, a slender ancient looking human has three shells and a marble, sliding them across the floor with lightning speed. Every now and then he gains a group, and once or twice even Lord Landon's attention.

<OOC> Vuk says, "can I do a profession/cook check to try and impress with my gourmand knowledge?" <OOC> Percival says, "who are you trying to impress, the cooks?" <OOC> Vuk says, "Oh, Landon, the other guests." <OOC> Vuk says, "you know, spewing a bit of history on rare vintages, etc." <OOC> Percival says, "Ah, the best place for that would be either the cooks or the folks sitting in the courtyard. It's okay to assume that Landon will hear of anything interesting, even if he is not in the immediate area." <OOC> Percival says, "I forgot to say, though, that we are currently standing at:

Successes: 1 Failures: 1"

<OOC> Vuk says, "sweet sweet." GAME: Vuk rolls profession/cooking: (19)+profession/cooking: 19 <OOC> Vuk says, "err" <OOC> Vuk says, "well unless you wanna use that, I typed the wrong thing XD" GAME: Vuk rolls profession/cook: (11)+9: 20 <OOC> Percival says, "Wait wait, you have already gone this round, Vuk and Ranth, the rest of the party must use their skills as well." <OOC> Vuk says, "oh." <OOC> Percival says, "Because of the confusion I'll allow you to use that next round" <OOC> Percival says, "Charlotte and Lorien can volunteer to go, as well as Garak if he is still here" <OOC> Garak says, "Yup I'm here" <OOC> Charlotte is trying to figure out what to do. I wanted to dance with Mr. Landon, but I dunno if my dance skill is good enough. <OOC> Lorien says, "What can I do?" <OOC> Percival says, "Well, there's no way to find out but try :D" <OOC> Ranth says, "Go for it" <OOC> Percival says, "What skills do you have, Lorien? :3" <OOC> Charlotte says, "It's what I'm doing then. I'm gonna roll it." <OOC> Percival says, "Alright"

GAME: Charlotte rolls perform/dance: (20)+3: 23

<OOC> Percival says, "Mr. Landon is currently near the stage, you may pose :3" <OOC> Lorien says, "Nothing useful." <OOC> Ranth says, "Crit!" <OOC> Percival says, "Everything is useful in a skill challenge, Lorien. Try it and find out." <OOC> Lorien says, "Unless he cares about tailoring and ships." <OOC> Ranth says, "Nautical stuff makes you sound rich" <OOC> Ranth says, "Pretend to own a ship" <OOC> Percival says, "There are also skills that can be used untrained"

In the party, Charlotte mingled a little bit and even tried a couple of the small finger foods at the table. However, the entire time, she was thinking of a way that she could impress Mister Landon. When he went near the stage, she got an idea. Keeping her mask in place, she slid her way onto the stage, just as the orchestra began a rather intricate waltz, Charlotte decides to use a few of her dancing skills. In this case, ballet. And she pulls it off without a hitch.

<OOC> Vuk says, "Oh..we -can- pose in now? :P" <OOC> Lorien says, "Awww, I kinda wanna dance."

The band seems to love the audience participation, a crowd gathering from around the courtyard to watch. They applaud and cheer you, a few men offering to buy her drinks

<OOC> Garak wants to do some horse riding tricks when I get a chance <OOC> Percival says, "I'm sorry, Vuk? Is something wrong?" <OOC> Charlotte says, "It's a habit of mine. After I do my thing, whether rolling or attacking, I pose." <OOC> Percival says, "Okay, Garak :3"

Successes: 2 Failures: 1

<OOC> Vuk says, "I was kinda wondering if we could pose in or not this entire time. Hehe :P" <OOC> Percival says, "Oh, of course, I was hoping you'd do it on your turn so I can keep track of what's going on though. lol" <OOC> Lorien says, "Can Lorien dance too?" <OOC> Percival says, "Of course, after Garak gets done wrangling horses :3" <OOC> Lorien says, "Kk." <OOC> Vuk says, "Oh yah, I was gonna bust one out for my thing with gourmandy stuff :)"

Garak makes his way over to the group of men working with the horses. He watches for a moment and then moves forward, adjusting his domino mask. "If I may...?" he asks the nearest.

<OOC> Percival says, "The same party member cannot perform the same skill they received a success on again, so if you succeed you just can't do it again"

GAME: Garak rolls ride: (17)+9: 26

<OOC> Percival says, "Wow, amazing rolls!"

Garak slips onto the horse's back with the innate skill of his kind. He reaches down to pat the side of the noble animal's neck and murmurs calming words. Before long he has it trotting around in docile circles. The crowd parts to allow Garak mount his horse, a snowy white stallion. The track has various jumps and curves to bring the horse through

<OOC> Percival says, "I'm sorry, Garak, taming a horse is Handle Animal. You tear up that obstacle course, though"

Successes: 3

Failures: 1

<OOC> Percival says, "Lorien, would you like to take your turn on the stage? :3" <OOC> Lorien says, "Yes!" <OOC> Lorien says, "He can /try/ to dance?" <OOC> Garak oops <OOC> Percival says, "Yes, even if you're not trained in it you can attempt to dance"

GAME: Lorien rolls perform/dance: (10)+2: 12

They have some amazing performers here, and while Lorien is not the worst by a long shot, the audience's attention seems to be elsewhere. Lorien simply flits about and seems to be trying to adjust his mask more than aything. At least he seems happy!

Successes: 3 Failures: 2

This is a new round, everyone in the party can now participate again!

<OOC> Percival says, "Vuk, you've already rolled." <OOC> Ranth says, "I'm going to try to wow guests with my knowledge of old buildings and architecture" <OOC> Percival says, "one second, Ranth" <OOC> Charlotte is going to try and finish her dance with a bit of a flourish. This one is going to be using acrobatics. <OOC> Charlotte will wait. <OOC> Percival says, "Vuk already rolled so I would like him to go first"

Vuk's Roll:

GAME: Vuk rolls profession/cook: (11)+9: 20

Jibbom was even bringing out a small cane tonight, the type for walking and strolling along. He mingles, and once he makes his way to the food and other delicacies, he'll sample and make small talk, bringing up this or that. Things only a true gourmand would know about a dish or vintage of wine or brandy. Some one who appreciates the finer things in life. "I must absolutely acquire some of these honeyed figs for my own private stocks! You know my dear wife Lady Sandiel is with my child now?" He comments to one of the more respectable guests. "Never visit the plane of breathless nights if I were you old dog! Damningly well named if you catch my meaning eh old sport?" He says in a confiding tone to the man.

The guests seemed to greatly enjoy Jibbom's commentary, and the cooks seemed to take ear as well, refreshing the bowl of honeyed figs and adjusting some of the recipes that they were making. The food improved that night, and the guests notice, and those that heard Jibbom speak knew it was because of him, as they recognized his advice from the new tastes of the food.

I'm claiming I knocked up Sandy, INFERNO YOU TAKE IT AND RUN WITH IT" <OOC> Percival says, "Oh, Lord..." <OOC> Percival says, "Alright, go ahead Charlotte" <OOC> Charlotte said that she wanted to finish her dance with a bit of flair, so Acrobatics.

GAME: Charlotte rolls acrobatics: (13)+7: 20

Charlotte's rather graceful dance is quite pleasing to the eye on the stage. However, near the end of the waltz, her ballet flows into a rather graceful leap off the stage, doing a single flip off the stage, with a double twist, and landing on her feet....IN HEELS NO LESS! The waltz number ends, and she stands with her hands in the air, like a Gymnast ending her routine, and she lowers herself into a curtsey, as a thank you. Lord Landon stayed for the full performance and cheered loudly with the dismount, asking who hired the expert dancer and acrobat, he didn't remember hiring her, but he was glad that someone did!

Lord Landon does not seem to so much respond to the compliments, but is so impressed at his ability to disappear and reappear seemingly wherever and whenever he wants, he laughed and showed you to Mrs. Landon, introducint Vuk as a performer. Father soon to be by the same mentioned blushing elven maid! I am fully enthralled with this most wonderous of galas!" He says and bows in his 'priestly' outfit. It is a matter of gifts for my expecting wife..I can not seem to make up my mind on how to cemmorate such a wonderous occasion!" Lord Landon stroked his chin, his bit of beard slipping through his fingers as he did so. "My my, such a skilled performer must have a beautiful wife, she is very lucky. <OOC> Garak says, "Wow that was close" <OOC> Charlotte says, "yeah..." <OOC> Lorien apologizes. <OOC> Charlotte says, "for what?" <OOC> Vuk says, "Not ya'all fault if the dice hatecha"

The party goes on, many people walk up to your group and ask to speak with you, and buy you drinks. Your popularity reaches the ears of Lord Landon, who approaches the group, shaking everyone's hands. "I've heard so much from everyone about all of you."

He places his lips to the back of Charlottes hand and smiles, "Your dancing was sublime, such agility. And you," He approaches Garak, "I don't know how you guessed the exact number, but your eye is as sharp as your wit from what I hear." He approached Lorien, "And I do not know if you are a wizard, but I heard your knowledge of spells is something to be admired." To Ranth he shakes his hand, "I hear you know your way around a block of stone, I might need to commission a sculpture from you someday." He approached Vuk and winked, "I think I have an idea for your lovely lady, sir. Here's a pass into a silent auction that's happening in a few moments. It will let you in and you can bid on whatever you believe your lady will desire the most." He bows to the party, "You all have my blessings, and my invitation once more should another soire occur"

Jibbom bows as he accepts the pass into the silent auction. "Many thanks my good Sir!" He says and looks at the others he came with. "Jibbom Von Steele believes Lady Sandiel and the soon to be twi sons of The Bane of the Night! The Crier of the Fire Tower shall be quite happy with their gift!"

<OOC> Charlotte gets into a bidding war with Vuk. bankrupts their employer. XD <OOC> Percival says, "lol XD" <OOC> Vuk says, "I think I need to do a rumor post" <OOC> Vuk says, "by think I mean, it's gotta happen."

Lorien nods a bit, "I'm better at dancing than arcane theory," he says, as if he honestly believes that, then flourishes.

The auction has a series of very valuable items, but the most reasonable that can be assumed to be of historical value is an old faded painting of an Egalrin rising out of a dark chasm while in flight, behind him is a shining orb presumably the sun.

Garak takes the offered pass, returns the bow politely, then glances around the grounds.

<OOC> Percival says, "This is essentially the end of the plot, I hope everyone enjoyed it"

Charlotte also takes the offered pass, and curtsies to Lord Landon. "Thank you, my lord." She says impeccably to him in a Myrrish accent....

<OOC> Vuk says, "You know like, Sandy is going to come kill every one at this party now right?" <OOC> Charlotte says, "and we win. hehehe"
