GAME: Dubtle refreshes spells.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, you're L6 right?"
<OOC> Jokul is also on phone so, yeah.
<OOC> Jokul says, "And yes."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Right."

Recently, the tenant farmers at a nearby farmstead have been reporting sheep going missing from a certain field at the top of a cliff which overlooks marshland. Whilst there's much to do in the city at the moment, some guildsmen have gone to find out what's going on... "Oof, ow! I think I have a pebble in my boot!" Dubtle as stopped for a moment to deal with that, having been alongside Jokul for now.

Sometimes, Jokul wonders if he accepts too many jobs. Still, usually those wonders are put aside in the hopes of finding a good fight. Besides, gold is gold.

He is, however, wondering about that now too, while he's waiting at the side of the path leading to the cliff to wait for Dubtle to... well, take care of his problems. "Then take your boot off and get it out," the Aesir warrior grumbles, while he uses his oversized sword as a leaning post. "We will want to be up there before nightfall."

You sure do want to be up there before nightfall, 'cause it's pretty grizzly round here. I mean, forget about the smell from the marshes. Forget about the decomposing remains of the animals around. But the /sheep/---ye gods! they don't half pong, some.

100 ft. or so ahead, the dangerous side of the cliff hangs ominously.

"Oh good," says DUbtle. "A cliff."

He's not looking happy about this. "You're right, though," he does nod to Jokul.

"Uh... I kind of hate climbing..."

<OOC> Jokul says, "I have INTERNET"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "YAY!"
<OOC> Jokul says, "Can I get the last two poses again so that I can actually see them on this screen by chance? <.<"
<OOC> Iadoth yarrr.

"Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do," claims Jokul without any apparent worry on his part -- but now he's setting his sword onto his back, for once, to the straps left htere as a backup measure. He doesn't usually keep his sword on himself like that, since it's actually kind of inconvenient with it's particular size, but sometimes you need both your hands free. Like now.

"I can always tie you to my back if need be." With the blade. And all the other weapons strapped on the warrior. That might not sound very tempting.

The raven upon Dubtle's shoulder (it's been there the entire time) takes off and does a quick fly around the area before returning toh him.

Dubtle gives Jokul a glare before saying, sadly, "I.. I guesss..."

Aside from the apparently chatty pair, it's very quiet up here on the hillside, as the sun begins its steady descent below the horizon. It would be quite the peaceful scene, watching the sunset. Maybe romantic too. Someone is even singing a beautiful, haunting melody, over in the swamps...

Yeah, that sure is a beautiful song. You feel like you really ought to go and check it out...

<OOC> Iadoth says, "But at least you're awake."

At the bottom of a cliff, Dubtle can see a monstrous humanoid. Save for the tattered wings and taloned feet, this creature resembles a feral woman with a wild look about her. She's sitting on an island, 80 ft. away, in the middle of the swamp, which starts a step from the rocky pile upon which Jokul landed. She is catawauling and screeching like some kind of demented cat. What happened to that wonderful singing?

Jokul can see much the same, except that the feral woman is replaced with an absolutely /stunning/ Aesir. She's just a beauty. And that song! Just... wow.

<OOC> Jokul says, "I am probably not in a very good situation here, am I."
<OOC> Dubtle laughs.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, you're still captivated, so you're actually going to spend your move action standing and your standard action
moving towards the ... thing. You'll be 15 ft. closer, in the shallow bog, so ... 65 ft. distant."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you want to pose that, I'd be much obligated."
<OOC> Jokul says, "Oh gooooood."
<OOC> Iadoth :D

"Huh?" Jokul doesn't really even have the sense of mind to look back to Dubtle upon the warning before his foot sets onto thin air. And the Aesir falls. And tumbles along the side of the cliff, bouncing along with every violent smack along the thing before he eventually falls flat on his face at the very bottom.

Somehow, his sword has remained in his hand even after all this. Funny, that.

"*pthuu*." THe warrior spits some dirt out of his mouth once he lifts his head up to look to the way of the bog -- and he stares for a moment there, in silence, before he starts making his way back up to his feet with a quiet groan. At least no bones are broken, by some miracle. Or maybe his bones have just hardened after previous breakages to the point that they can actually take a fall like that easy enough.

"...Hey!" HE calls to the woman - such as she is - and slowly makes way towards her. The bog. "What are you doing all the way here?"

<OOC> Iadoth laughs.

PONK.

A rock just bounced of Jokul's helmet.

"SNAP OUT OF IT YOUR BLOODY IDIOT! HEY, RAVEN DUMBASS, GO PECK HIS HEAD!"

<OOC> Iadoth nodnods. That'll work when you're large.

Jokul's head tips over slightly when the rock rebounds off the back of it, with a rapid blinking while his hand reaches up to rub the impact site. Focus returns to the warrior's green eyes, and-- they squint at the hag of a woman there.

WHat was he thinking, indeed?

With a grunt of disgust, the warrior brings his sword to bear in front of him, held up against the swinging morningstar before the hag is flying off again. And the disgust in hhis expression is quickly replaced by *frustration*, instead. "OY! Wigglyfingers!" He calls to the way of the dwarf when he turns around and goes trudging through the bog. "Collapse on me! You don't want it to start picking you off instead!"

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay!"

THe first vertical swing from the magically-enlarged sword goes wide past the side of the flying hag.

But, Jokul's eyes squint in focus immediately in that moment. With the enlarging spell, he has a much better vantage point to calculate the woman's trajectory, and adjust his own movement.

And in the next instant, the massive sword is swinging right back up again to SMASH into the woman from below. WIth how inexplicably large the SWORD is *now*, it might look like he's swatting at the woman with it, even if it does cut through along her side.

"I think I got the hang of her movement," he declares towards Dubtle, then, and his mithril-covered now-giant feet stomp him closer towards the dwarf. "Stay close. She might get the smart idea to try to go at us one at a time if we're seperate."

The flying thing screeches at the deep wound in her side, but whirls back from the cliff, bearing down this time on the smaller of the two targets, anticipating the attacks as she does so...

Whap!

As it flies near, Dubtle raises his staff and lashes out at it. *bonk*
<OOC> Iadoth looks up the massive damage rules for kicks.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jeebus."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, it is completely, irrecoverably, completely deaded."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Feel free to pose that howsoever you like."
<OOC> Jokul says, "Oh uh. Just to confirm, just in *case*... she *is* dead? >.>"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Minus 85 hp."
<OOC> Jokul says, "...Yeah that's super dead."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You've basically cut her in half."

While the hag is in a flying trajectory towards the pair, the Enlarged Jokul lowers his stance ever-so-slightly and crosses his arms -- bringing his right hand to his left shoulder to hold the massive sword horizontally behind him past his head, and his left arm curved around the right to help hold it in place.

And he watches the woman's approach with a glint in his eye.

"Sorry, lass," he growls, with a hint of a smirk beginning in the twitch along his lips. "Redheads might be my type, but--"

The harpy comes along close enough for even Dubtle to smack her, and Jokul's eyes snap wider open when his whole body triggers into motion. His back arches to bend him over forward, his feet and torso twist to wind up a turn.

"..But I'm just not into *YOU*!"

The last word is like the final trigger that sends his body into a wild, violent spin, and his arms uncross after the first turn to bring his heavy, utterly oversized weapon into cutting through the air, carried further on by the spin of his body -- and straight through the woman with a loud, metallic sound echoing out through the swamp when the thick blade forces it's way through her body and leaves two bloodied pieces behind to fly through the air.

As if SOMEHOW that wasn't enough, the continued spin brings Jokul around one more time, but with his sword rising upwards again, and with a stomp of his foot ending the momentum of the swing, the sword falls down from high above and into the seperated upper body of the Harpy -- if the force alone doesn't outright turn the remnants of her body into a bloody mist, it at least leaves her body into a total of *six* parts after the blade carries her down to the ground where the slab of steel crashes into the boggy water and ground with a resounding *THUD* and splattering water left EVERYWHERE.

Because there's no kill like overkill, apparently.

<OOC> Jokul ...MAY have gone a little overboard with his typing.
GAME: You nominated Jokul for good roleplay.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Worth it."

The thing certainly is dead. /Really/ dead. It'd be hard to even identify it from that alone.

When you go over to the island, you find a bunch of sheep skulls, and some other grizzly bits and pieces that are less straightforward to identify. Possibly gnomes. Within the pile of bones and entrails, though, there are some pretty baubles and trinkets. Presumably she uses these when she goes out on the lash.

GAME: Iadoth removes the timestop.
Timestop by Iadoth has left.
GAME: You remove the timestop.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Just a couple of outgoing poses, then we'll call it a day."
<OOC> Iadoth hopes you had fun. Fly-by Attack is totally awesome.

After the violent whirlwind of steel and death has come to it's end, Jokul steps back away and hoists the huge slab of steel that he calls a sword back up again, to rest along his armored shoulder. "I guess that's what we were looking for," the Aesir suggests, and tosses a glance down to Dubtle's way. "Thanks for the help. That thing got deep in my head."

<OOC> Dubtle laughs. I did. :)

...and now Dubtle is covered in blood.

HE stands there for a long time. A very long time.

And then?

Then he vomits on Jokul's oversized boot.

"...Oh boy," Jokul grumbles, and lets out a heavy sigh before he reaches his hand down to, of all things, pat his hand along the top of the dwarf's head. "You'll get used to it."

<OOC> Iadoth laughs.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thanks guys! I'll post the log and submit now, so y'all can expect your XPs and gold sometime soon."
<OOC> Dubtle says, "Yay!"
<OOC> Jokul says, "Golllllllllllld!"
