Pirate Ninjas: Introduction

It's just another busy day at Port Alexandria. A major hub of trade, ships from all over the place. And well, attention is being drawn to two adjacent ships. A group of well-dressed individuals, followed by armed guards, their clothing and armaments visibly from the Jade Isles, each step off of their ships. Seeing each other, pointing and shouting erupts.

Bors was just getting off a fishing boat, and collects his pay gratefully. He peers at the coins in his hand before tucking them away in a small coinpurse. Seeing the commotion with the newly arrived people, he'll head over to investigate. He reeks of fish, unfortunately, but ... well, that's his job.

The Port is a hub of trade, indeed, and Aya has occassional interest in goods to and from the city. Whether said goods appear on official manifests or not, they still travel here. She arrives on the dockway from one of the many small offices adjoining large warehouses in the vicinity and begins to make her way back towards terra firma.

Hun'rar is walking along the docks in his full armor, only to be drawn by the sound of the argument. "What in the world is this fresh hell." he mutters to himself as he wades into the argument like he would battle.

Those who approach, or just pay attention, will start to get a better grasp of what's going on. The adjacent ships each have raised the banners of different Kingdoms of the Dreaming Isles. Their speech is accented in ways that sound identical to anyone who doesn't know how to recognize the local differences.

The leader of the group getting off of the red-bannered ship shouts "What a coincidence finding you here. We already suspected you were responsible for the attack on our embassy." The leader of the gropu getting off of the blue-bannered ship retorts "Yes, a coincidence that the ambassador was back home when this alleged attack happened. You've faked the whole thing becuase you intend to start a war."

Bors is, possibly, one of those people who could tell the factions apart. Though he's wearing an Alexandrian name and Alexandrian clothes, he's from Seagarden, capital of the Jade Isles, and his face is pure Xian. He looks at the two faction leaders, watching silently to see how this plays out.

Hun'rar dons his helmet, fully expecting to get pelted or otherwise harassed before he closes in through the crowd. "By the holy hunt and Gilead, cease this at once!" he calls out, trying to shout above the argument and impose himself between the two group. "This is Alexandria and peace will be kept!"

work, thus prone to unscheduled interruption.

Aya's attention is drawn to the raised voices and obvious agitation. While not especially familiar with the Isles nor their factions, the words and varying banners make it not too difficult to make a rough asumption. Bickering factions are hardly a situation unique to any one locale.

By the time Hun'rar starts to approach and try to break things up, some of the guards have pulled out their large, curved blades, brandishing them. But each ambassador gestures to send them back as they turn to face Hun'rar.

Red banner speaks first "We of the Kingdom of Elantra wish peace had been kept when our embassy was attacked. I am Ambassador Braugmer of Elantra, and I am lucky to be alive!" Blue banner though scoffs loudly. "The Kingdom of Yanero had nothing to do with any such attack. I, Ambassador Vinash, swear it."

Aya alone notices that off of each ship climbs a man in black, getting away from the scene without being seen. Almost, anyway.

Bors is a fishing man and knows nothing of politics, so he has no insight into who these people might be, or what they might be after. He affects an air of nonchalant loitering to try and hear more without being obstrusive. Hun'rar seems to have their attention in any event.

Hun'rar holds up his hands to both sides "Put your weapons away! Now! If this goes any farther you are both going to end up in a jail cell. This is Alexandria and you will keep the peace!" he calls out above the crowd. "Whatever fued you have, its not here." he adds trying his best to stay between the two groups.

Aya's eyes narrow at one, then two, suspicious individuals exit the ships. Interesting... though a poor choice on their part to wear such clothing during daylight. Not that the dark would have granted them reprieve from her, anyhow.

She promptly ceases to exist at her current spot, vanishing with a wisp of shadow to re-appear with the same wisps before the fleeing one previously judged more likely to escape. "You may wish to search your ships for stowaways!" she notes, loudly.

"There is another, there!" Aya adds to correct her pose, pointing towards the other fleeing individual in black, or where she last saw them.

The guards do put their weapons away, but it's hard to tell if they're taken aback by Hun'rar's commands, or if they're following orders from their bosses. Good thing the two are aligned, and they don't have to be tested. Braugmer shakes his head. "You, you say our feud is not here, but it is here. We were attacked. Do we not have recourse under the city's laws? Or is Alexandria as lawless as people claim our own homes are?" Aya's comments cause consternation from both sides, and there are murmurs of "Trade representative. Pay no mind." Bors is eyed by a few of the guards, sized up, but no action or word.

Hun'rar glowers at both parties. "You go to the proper authorities, a judge will hear your case and make a proper decision based on the evidence. Not brawl in the streets like a bunch of hooligans. If you have any honor than act like it." he continues on, thinking he has been successful. "Now what have you done." he says as his attention is drawn to the black clad individuals.

Bors pfts at laws, having found them not particularly useful to him, and he returns the guards' suspicious looks as he cleans his fingernails with one of his kukri knives. When the guards have blown off Huh'rar, he'll saunter over, bolder now that he's worked out who these fellows are. He tells Hun'rar, "These are men with little enough honor as it is, let them strut and stab one another to their heart's content." With these fellows speaking, it becomes much more obvious that his own accent is very similar, though they will know it's a low-class accent from Seagarden proper. "As long," he says, eying the men from each ship in turn, "as no one from the city is hurt. If something like that happens, then Rada will not be able to save you from the storm."

Aya frowns as the one she appeared before is spry (and wise) enough to continue fleeing. She turns and gives chase, following along the pier, over crates, possible across a load crane... until the black-clad one appears to detonate in a cloud of smoke and vanishes.

There are glances as Aya chases one of the ninjas, but when the ninja seems to get away, the red bannered group relaxes just slightly. Then with a clearing of the thrat, Ambassador Braugmer resumes to Hun'rar. "We will take it up with your government then. Guards." He then dusts off his white blouse, puts a hand into a waist pocket, and starts walking away, guards following.

The Blue crew does watch Bors more, and hearing his worsd, THAT ambassador gets huffy fast. "You say what you want, but your biases do not change the facts. We go now." And he brings his guards with him, walking in the opposite direction as the other, but with similar dignity.

Aya will continue to watch

Bors snorts derisively at the Blue men as they depart, and he will turn his back on them as they depart. Well, they were warned. If they make trouble now, it's on them. He will offer Hun'rar a shrug, slip his kukri knife back into his belt, and wander toward the edge of the crowd.

Hun'rar nods after the Ambassador, arm folded to make sure nobody decides to cause some last minute trouble. "What is this all about? This is just the strangest thing." he says mostly to himself. "There won't be any bloodshed on my watch." he says to Bors. "Doesn't matter who it is, we are all civilized people and will behave accordingly."

Both contingents leave without further incident, the armed guards obeying their ambassadors, which does keep them in line iwth Hun'rar's preferences. But the tension remains, and is the talk of the pier.

Bors gives Hun'rar a derisive 'pft' noise of amusement. "No bloodshed? And will you stab them to stop the bloodshed?" he asks. "And we are not all civilized. You can keep your civilization." Civilization has let him down badly, and he's got no use for it anymore.
