Down and down the group goes, into the warded crypt of the noble family. There's a moment where a strange, errant thought passes through everyone's mind in turn. They had passed through multiple warnings, and it would be a good idea to turn back, wouldn't it?

A thought easily pushed aside by the veteran adventurers. Though when they reach the bottom of the crypt, they're met with, nothing?

The stairs end in a landing with wall torches on either side of them, but a stone wall is all that meets them.

Telamon looks slightly unimpressed as the party steps into the landing. "Oh dear," he says a bit sarcastically, "there's no door. Guess we'll have to all go home now." He shakes his head. "Idiot. We know he's down here; so now the question is, is it a physical secret door, or is it illusionary?" He looks over at Cor'lana with a smile. "Holding up all right?"

Zyla cocks her head to the side a bit, "So we probably should look around, see if we can find what might be hiding the way forward from here." she takes in the room for a moment.

Skielstregar slows to a halt. Then quietly groans. "No, not again. No more doorsss."

Cor'lana smiles at Telamon. "I'm--"

"Okay, thanks for asking," Pothy cuts in, mimicking Cor'lana's voice. This gets a chuckle out of Cor'lana. "We're okay," she states. "Pothy and I, that is. I'm sure he's getting hungry, but when is he not?"

Her violet eyes turn back to the landing. "Let's see if I can find something with sight unseen," she says before she begins to murmur an incantation.

Paenitia pulls up in front of the blank wall, sitting pretty astride Ramirez. The little lucht leans forward, tapping the stones with the tip of her lance, "You are sure there is not the magic password?"

>tap< >tap< "Open says me!"

'Ruaaah?'

"No Ramirez, it is not the seed snack time."

After a moment of contemplation, the little Red Knight adds, "This seem the solid stone wall, maybe we miss the trap door in the floor or ceiling."

It's a long moment of inspection before Cor'lana comes to a conclusion. "Abjuration magic's everywhere in this room--I'm seeing several different auras of abjuration. And..."

She looks at the wall, frowning. "An illusion. What is it hiding?"

Zyla cocks her head to the side, "A little everywhere?" she asks, "Do we know where there is a little more?" she cocks her head to the side, "Could try to just punch each wall."

Telamon furrows his brow at Cor'lana. "Well, the abjurations might be to prevent prying eyes... or adventurers. But the illusion..." He walks over to the wall, studying it intently, before deliberately poking at it with a fingertip.

Skielstregar looks to Pae, nodding once at her assumption and looking to the others. He shifts on his feet. "Um... what isss abjuration..?" he asks quietly to Rocky.

Telamon stares fixedly at the wall Cor'lana indicated, his starry eyes lost in thought apparently. Then he pokes the wall. Then he pokes it again, a bit more firmly, before reaching out to grasp... something? "This is a door, not a wall," he states calmly. He doesn't pull the door yet, but glances to the others. "Are you ready?"

Skielstregar rolls his shoulders, gripping his halberd with both hands. "Thiss one hatesss doorsss," he growls. "Ready."

"I see only the wall, bt I am expecting the great magic trick." Paenitia replies. "Yes. We are ready."

Cor'lana narrows her eyes at the 'door' as Telamon goes to open it. "You know, the person who cast that guards and wards spell could have used arcane lock on this one," she comments. "It's not beyond the realm of possibility."

"Sesame seed," Pothy mutters, mimicking Cor'lana's voice again. Now he's all hung up on snacks, too.

There are to large handles to the door, and they are both unlocked. All that was left was for Telamon to pull them back, causing a massive pair of ornate wooden doors to swing out through the illusion. Ramirez has to move out of the way somewhat to avoid the right hand one swinging out ward. All that was left was a seemingly solid stone wall, but the barrier it was hiding was now removed from within it. Leaving the faint sound of crackling fire from inside.

"Haha! There is the door hidden in the wall." The Red Knight laughs, then nudges her Ivory Steed, "We go in! Friend Dragon, Friendly Giant, it is the time to do so!"

Ramirez marches forward and Paenitia ducks under the sil.

Skielstregar bobs his head. "We go asss one," he declares, thudding his chest twice as he follows in on Ramirez's heels.

Inside the main room, on the other side of illusory wall was a grand sight. A grand sight marred by the sight of several skeletons that were waiting silently, and still in place. Several armed and armored in once shining plate armor, now half rusted and covered in grime and dust from the grave, one in the back in tattered and ragged leather and metal armor, and one in threadbare robes that were torn in numerous places.

As well as a tall elven man in a three piece suit, who was at the far end of the hall, illuminated by the many torches hanging on the walls.

"I was wondering if you were really going to keep going through all that. Goodbye! I will be back later to raise your corpses, and collect data on how effective this lot were." The man laughs in the same voice as that which came from the statue before, before they jumped backwards through the wall they were next to, vanishing without a trace.

The half-elven sorceress reclaims her spot by Telamon's side, murmuring an incantation and letting magic well up within her--that is then released in the form of a quickening spell that descends onto her friends and allies.

"Elven necromancer? At least this one isn't trying to feeblemind me," she murmurs.

He smiles at her, and incants, "I'iz mete gantir," and there's a flicker around him before another Telamon pops into place. Then another, and another, until there are five Telamons, moving around in a tight group. "I don't know who that was talking," he growls, "but he better run fast to get away from Skiel."

The silence is broken by the elf in their parting words. Followed by a chattering from the skeletons, that turns to a cacophony of noise, before falling silent. The skeletons quickly together. The leather clad one in the back moves back, and pulls back their crossebow to aim at the sith-makar. The bolt flies through the air and sticks into the marble of the tomb, right where Skielstregar's left leg would have been had it not been in the way. The others follow in their movements, one with a large spear falling in behind axe wielding skeleton, while one with flail in hand moves to the edge of the tomb, closing off that entrance.

The hammer wielding skeleton chatters again, one of the hammers it was carrying bursting into flames. It charges forward, striking Skielstregar with a blow that bludgeons and sears the makari slightly, but a follow up strike fails to find purchase on Skielstregar's armor. The other hammer it had swung out towards the gryphon instead, but finds only air as it only manages to ruffle some of Ramirez' feathers.

Skielstregar suddenly is assaulted by a crossbow, hammer axe scraping his side as pain flairs up it. And then a familiar alacrity hits his veins. From behind the illusioned wall, there's a voice that roars out. "DISGRACFUL NECROMANCER!" Welp. Someone pissed him off.

The ire is directed towards the hammer weilding one, Skiel, now dripping black miasma, turns his hablerd sideways (and gets clobbered for it), and with righteous rage bats the skeleton back through the air, making room for the others. "Thissss one will get around them!"

His halberd drops to the ground and clatters. The ichor on it stopping to turn into a silver sheen. And with frightening speed, Forgotten Skiel tears through on all fours around the left flank, panting and heaving as he scrapes to a stop behind the trio of undead. He yanks free a flail, and starts to twirl it, flicking black ichor everywhere. "Come here..."

With the illusory wall becoming obvious, yet still stubbornly remaining to block vision, Shilde grumbles. Something non-flattering about wizards, probably. She pats Rocky on the shoulder, then points, "Help Skielstregar." Rocky hesitates, looking at the wall, then at Shilde again.. she taps her nose, then points again, giving the dog a little bit of a push.

He does look oddly at the butt end of Ramirez sticking back out of the wall.. and he tentatively pushes forward. When he finds it open, the dog barks, then dashes through.

Shilde meanwhile starts to jerk; bones pop, and as she moves forward she falls down to all fours. Gear melds into her form as fur takes its place, and then a second canine is dashing past Ramirez's legs to join the fray.

Despite her urging, Ramirez is reluctant to charge full speed into a wall. It takes Paenitia a moment or two to convince the peacock-andalusian that there is a way forward. It helps that Skielstregar demonstrates that the wall can be traversed.

Still, the great white bird-horse is extra flighty and takes a moment to get his bearings as the tomb full of skeletons move to attack.

"Ramirez! Cha... step closer they are close enough." The Red Knight calls, raising her lance. He does, joining the others in snapping and striking at the small squad immediately in front of the door. He is experienced with skeletons, but it has been a while, and only one bite lands.

THRUST! Paenitia's lance catches a skeleton in an eyesocket and bursts out the back.

"Friends!" She calls out, "The scroll the wizard drop, he mean to do that. It the trap! To explode or suck you into the page, be wary with it."

The skeleton in the back raises a bony finger, and points it at the raging sith-makar. There's a chattering of teeth before as a sickly looking black ray streaks from it, passing through Skielstregar's chest before it vanishes, sucking almost all of the air from their lungs, leaving them struggling for breath for a moment. The axe wielding undead at the front, with half of their skull missing looks seems to stare at Paenitia. A green flame ignites in the remaining socket, while a similar will-o-wisp floats where the other would have been prior. It raises it's large axe, and with a massive cleaving swing brings it through the foes surrounding it, cutting into several of the adventurers.

Cor'lana saunters forward and finds herself on the other side of the illusory wall. Her violet eyes analyze the available targets... And she spots one that's off to the side. She smirks to herself and raises her hand. "Clear shot," she murmurs before she murmurs an incantation.

Lightning rips from her hand to the undead creature, scorching it hard. "Someone finish that off before it kills me, please!" Cor'lana announces.

Telamon is right behind Cor'lana as she charges through the illusory wall, finding himself in... well, a melee. His keen eyes pick out the archer in the back, with what looks like some kind of skeleton wizard next to it. As Lana slams a lightning bolt into one skeletal adversary, Telamon gestures intricately, chanting. "Lirum adbar murub," spills from his lips, and there's a faint whistling sound as suddenly black tentacles sprout from the tombs and floor, grabbing and tangling the skeletons at the back of the crypt.

Then Telamon realizes the skeleton Lana hit is still up, and he groans slightly. "Well, crap..." His illusory doubles all look slightly concerned.

The skeletons, battered and splintered, but not beaten, attempt to rally against the adventurers who entered their crypt.

The crossbow wielding skeleton is not too lucky. Trapped by the magical tentacles, it attempts to break free, but finds itself just as stuck as before. The spear wielder attempts to stand and fight, only to be pummeled and crushed back into the ground from the surrounding foes.

The skeleton near Telamon falls back, moving to attack the sith-makar as well. It whirls it's flail on approach until it can swing at Skielstregar, the chain wrapping around his weapon and pulling it out of his hand to clatter to the floor.

The skeleton with it's flaming hammer steps forward, and brings said hammer to bear, smacking soundly into the makari, bruising through the armor and burning more of their scales and skin. At the last moment they turn to catch the nearby druid across the side with their smaller hammer with a solid blow.

Skielstregar suddenly gasps as the air is yanked out of his lungs, him coughing and trying to stand up straight. After absolutely crushing one of the undead along with his lupine companions, he swivels around and snarls at his new companion. Flail against flail, he tries to block the strike, but gets juked and his weapon goes flying.

He blankly stares at them. "You do realize thisss one can jussst-"

He about faces, raises a gloved and padded fist. It drips black ichor. "BEAT THE CALCIUM OUT OF YOU?!"

Zyla considers what she can do and ponders a few tactical movements and then decides that is isn't that feasible at the moment. She moves forward just a step and then smiles as she looks at the skeleton with the axe, "Sorry, wrong place, wrong time." she says and then with electricity crackling up her arms, she lets loose. Her hands come together into a massive hammer for her first strike, but then she smacks again with a second punch, and a third, and finishing up with a final strike that seems to do almost as much as the first, dropping the skeleton as the giantborn monk glances around for her next target.

She manages a four pawed dodge with the flail wielding skeleton as Rocky lunches at it from behind, clamping his jaw upon a femur and dragging it down. "Life is like that sometimes, love." Telamon's voice is cheerful, despite the battle. It's clear the heroes have the upper hand, as the last two skeletal warriors writhe in the grip of his tentacular spell. "Sometimes... you just need a different tool for the job."

Tel vaults up onto one of the crypts, and begins to chant. "Ganzer, lipisbala, gaz!" His hands close to him, as a wave of heat rolls through the crypt's stale air, and a blue white flash appears in his palms.

He thrusts out, and it extends into a streak of flame that slams into the far wall with a thunderous BOOM and a wave of fire that consumes the two remaining skeletons, burning them to ash in an instant of purifying fire and heat. Once they are clearly gone, he gestures, dismissing the tentacles back to wherever they came from. "And that is that... at least until we find the professor."

The last pair of skeletons fall to the group of adventurers, burned so badly by the fireball that they simply fall apart on the spot, leaving no more clattering or clacking of bones in the crypt.

Skielstregar looks ready to dive into the tentacles as the rest of the undead fall from beak, fists, maws, lances, magic and-

The back corner of the crypt explodes into an inferno. He blinks. And he falls to a knee, panting. "... well that wasss... sssomething..." A look about to the undead. "... thessse were powerful warriorsss in their time. You all were right about that. They should be commended. When... thisss one getsss their breath back, they can put them back in their cryptssss."

He collects his weapons. The halberd resumes dripping for a beat before returning to a silver gleam. The makari glares at his reflection before turning to say. "We did well. But the necromancer fled through a wall," he mentions, pointing to the corner. "But... they are probably long gone...."

Zyla cocks her head to the side and mutters, "I hate not being able to teleport." she mutters and then glances around a bit. "Did anyone see who was behind this?" she asks, after all she was still behind the other wall when a certain someone jumped through the other wall.

Cor'lana sighs in relief. She gives Telamon a hug and smiles. "Good shot on that fireball, love," she says, looking up at him with a twinkle in her violet eyes. She lifts herself up on her tip-toes and kisses him on the cheek before letting go of him and turning back to the melee.

As she listens to Skielstregar, she frowns. "Well," she says, "he'll at least be disappointed to find that our bodies aren't available to raise into new corpses. What would an elf man be doing in a crypt for a Dranei noble family, though?"

As the last of the skeletons falls, Shilde falls back on her haunches to tend to the worst of her hurts.. a nasty gash that would be bleading had the extra energy damage not cauterized it. She nuzzles it, while Rocky pads over the collection of broken bones to sit with her, and she summons magic to help take the worst of the hurt away.

"Is that also the wall which is not a wall?" Paenitia asks, flicking her lance to shake off the traces of bone dust. She guides Ramirez through the crypt, as she looks at the names on each casket. "Ha! I have the same hate, at not be able to teleport. You will have to endure the small things."

She points her lance at the lost scroll, "take the care with that, it need the magic dispel. Thta might work for the wall also."

Telamon smiles at Lana, before walking with her towards where the others are recovering. "If he ducked -through- a wall, it means he's got another illusion up. Terrific." His eyes follow Paenitia's lance, but he makes no attempt to collect the scroll. "Noted, Dame Paenitia. I've no desire to get snatched up in some trap." He furrows his brow. "Lana, we may need to toss around a few more dispel magics again..."

The half-elf sorcerers get to work. Cor'lana attempts to dispel magic on the scroll, but nothing happens. After consulting with Telamon, Cor'lana frowns a little. "Abjuration magic on the scroll," she says. "I... admittedly don't know what we should do with it. Maybe nothing?"

Skielstregar looks about to the others and their warnings before scratching the side of his head with the edge of his halberd. "... nothing sssoundsss well. We tell the lady about it and take heed of itsss exissstence."

He looks back to where they came from. "Admittedly, thisss one would rather quit thisss place and have proper authoritiessss go over it."

As to the question of the necromancer. "It wasss a sil man. Dresssed well in... what wasss it. A ssssuit? Thisss one doesssn't know if they could ever fit in one of thossse..."

Zyla just stands back, waiting till there is something else to punch. She cocks her head a bit and while they are waiting, the electricity fades from her body.

"The Magic Hand or the Servant that is not Seen can carry it back. The arcanist society maybe have the more mages and ways of deal with it. If the Necromance write the scroll, it can be use to find him." Paenitia suggests, sliding her lance into its scabbard. "The direct touch is the great risk."

She shakes her head, "I do not get the great look at him, but Sil in Suit, yes, that sound right."

With her wounds more or less licked, Shilde growls... then proceeds with the disturbing and unpleasant process of shifting back into her natural, surly dwarf body. She takes another moment to collect herself, steadying herself on Rocky's reduced, but still solid form. "Aye. I agree with Shorty'n Skiels. Contain it.. bring it back. Report this place 'an the wizard what ran."
