  • Emitter: Murder
  • Characters: Murder, Skielstregar
  • Place: Fire Lodge
  • Time: October 24th, 2022
  • Summary: Murder is getting their feast on and Skielstregar joins in, himself quite hungry. They speak of his trip to the temple of Daeus, as well as on ways on how to talk with the gods. Skiel isn't buying that method, but they end up comparing how they do their respective magics and anger, and go to spar each other to see if they can glean any insights.

The warmth of the Lodge is a great means to chase away the chill of the day, something many a warrior has enjoyed over the years.

Murder is no different, having happily discarded her furs, wandering around in a simple loincloth and top. The heat pales in comparison to the selection of savory treats that are slow roasted to perfection on the central fire.

The Gobbo is happily taking alternating bites from a leg of lamb and a small haunch of roast beef. She occasionally pauses to drink awkwardly from a glass, attempting to tip beer into her mouth, avoiding having to put one of the meat treats down.

Skielstregar doesn't particularly visit this lodge often, or if at all. The others were full at this hour, and this was the closest from the training areas. And, well, he was really hungry.

A towering makari ducks under the door in his full battle attire. He sweeps his gaze about, a hand scratching the side of his head before he perks up and slowly ambles over to Murder. "Peasssse," he rumbles warmly, in a far better mood the other day. "How isss?"

The Gobbo is pleased as punch and it shows, her grin toothy and wide. Murder gestures to a nearby bench that has recently been vacated, "Sit, sit!" She pulls a large leg of some bird animal off the spitroat, and offers it up to the Silver-scale Sith. "This is the most delicious bird I have ever had the joy of chewing. You should try it."

Skielstregar blinks at the directive, him careful to take a seat and not break it. "Ah, thank you," he hums, taking the leg and taking a bite out of it. Half of it is gone in one go. He tries to chew, but a lot of it gets gulped down. "Ah, you are right, it isss well!"

The look on her face is part horror, part awe. As he is trying to gulp the large mouthful down, she stands on tiptoe to bite out a large chunk for herself, perhaps forgetting that she has a choice piece of meat in each hand.

"See! This Gobbo knows her meat!" A few more bites are taken from her own supper, before she grins at the Sith.

"I am doing well, Skielstregar. You seem to be in a great mood, how are you doing?" She hops from foot to foot while waiting on his answer.

Skielstregar chuckles, him turning the meat over to get at the other half. He blinks at the stolen bite, him snorting and lightly bonking the gobbo atop the head with it. "Thisss one is hungry," he snorts, taking a breath and lightly breathing frost to turn the other meat into ice. "Of course you do. That issss good to hear. Ah. Thisss one is well. They just ssspoke with a Sssunguard issss all after speaking with you and Aewlyn at the temple. They feel much better overall."

She offers up both pieces of her dinner to the Sith. "Here, try these as well. They are so succulent that you hardly have to chew." Both pieces are likely merely a taste, to the Silver-scale.

"Oh, you talked to one of the Sunblades? This is good! Did they sooth your mind over the Sun lord's path? Can you walk it your own way?"

Skielstregar takes the frozen leg that he has and, surprisingly, bites into the chunk. It cracks and crumbles into pieces in his mouth, and gulped away in the same manner as the first. "Oh! Certainly," he murmurs, reaching out to gently pickup the dinner. Small nibbles. One, two. Gulp. "Ah, yesss, thesssse are good as well."

He returns the food and rubs his neck. "Eh.. it issss a bit complicated. They never left he path. It isss jussst, erm, they have to make their own light, inssstead of the Father's," Skiel elaborates. "The... magicsss thisss one hasss makes near impossible to receive hisss blessing."

Murder looks sad at the news of being unable to receive Daeus's blessing, and the Gobbo pulls herself up onto one of his thighs, leaning slightly against him. "Eee... so cold!" She snorts and shivers. "You can't receive his blessing? Maybe... maybe there's a way, hmm, to change that? Maybe we can go to Daeus himself and you can meet him in person for a blessing." Her bare feet swing back and forth a little.

"Angoron himself told me how to make magic, and with my master's help, I was able to focus my rage towards useful things."

Skielstregar is looking away so he has some room to snap the remaining bone in half and chomp that one down as well. But he blinks as a gobbo is on his leg. He is cold. Thankful one should be he wears pants and tabards to blunt the chill. "No, thisss one doesn't. Or, rather, cannot. Maybe not for the bessst," he elaborates. A blink. "Go to... The Dragonfather himssself? Uh... thisss one hasss..."

He's at a bit of a loss of how to process that. "... erm. Well, perhapsss that isss one way. That isss... interesting that Angoron did that for you. Isss that how you do your magicsss?"

A beat. "Thisss one's magicsss... isss rather certain is what is keeping thisss one alive. A blessing from the Knight may not... turn out well?"

"Well, he explained how it worked. My master used some noxious concoction to put me out, and I went on a dream quest. The being who I found certainly sounded and looked like what you would expect Angoron to look and sound like."

She pats at his arm. "Yes, go to the Dragonfather himself. I am quite certain that a mighty God could arrange it so that his blessing doesn't kill you. He might find a different way to bless you, you know? Priests can be kind of ... afraid of bothering their deity. You should be bold. We can track down my master, and he can send you off on a spirit quest like I did. I could go with you!"

Skielstregar just... stares.

And stares.

Then looks up. "... but the Father isss... very high up."

God damn it Skiel.

He shakes his head. Thisss one hasss gotten sssome messages, or signsss from Him. But..." A long pause. "... thisss one isss partially undead, Murder. It fuelsss their magic. Having hisss Light would... thisss one doess not know what it will do."

The Gobbo giggles, and then snorts. "Yes, I had guessed. You had a certain smell, before, and in the time between then and now, I have learned that you were similar in some ways to me." She pats at his armor. "I am very fond of you, for this. And your scales make it hard to pull my eyes away, sometimes. But, that said... I have the blood of destiny in my veins, you have the ichor of undeath, and I know of those who have demon blood, angel blood, fire itself and more besides. But!"

Murder giggles again. "Do you know how most people get to meet their Gods, if indeed, they ever do?"

Skielstregar bobs his head slowly, but tilts it to the side. "Hrmm. Yesss, many otherssss have many wayssss. The Starsss, magic itssself. Ànd, well, a lot of people stare at thisss one. They like to look at themssselves."

He blinks. "... what? No. Unlesss one diesss of course. Which..." A side glance. "... thisss one nearly did meet Him on that front."

The Gobbo nods enthusiastically. "Right. So... you're almost there, to start with! But, I think the dream walking is a better idea. Think about it!" She pats his armor once more. "I would be happy to help out, should you wish to give it a try." Murder grins broadly then. "So.. you can rage too, yes? How do you go about doing so? Is it easy to do, for you?"

Skiel scratches his head. "Erm... alright? Thisss one can try that. They will have to think about it. There isss many thingsss going on in their skull," he smiles a bit weakly, patting the gobbo atop the head.

The question makes him pause before taking a moment to take another leg of meat. "... erm. Yesss. It isss... easy? Yesss. Hard to control? Erm... yessss. Thisss one can feel a bit of... that undeath in them. And they let it out when they need the strength."

He chomps the meat. "... they basically turn into an undead beast. What about you?"

"I just think of all the bad things people have done to me, and then I snap out of it later. Don't really remember much in between, you know? Just frothing at the mouth, and then, blood everywhere. Other people's blood, usually, but sometimes mine." Murder rubs at her cheek. "An undead beast. Interesting. I bet you are far more scary when raging than I am. I mean, you're so regal with your silver scales and all. Must be a huge change."

Skielstregar frowns a bit at that in concern. "Thisss one... seesss. Erm That is what thisss one /doesssn't/ want to happen. But... at leassst you know how to get in that ssstate."

e gives a slow, if somewhat bashful nod. "Thisss one... erm, doesssn't /enjoy/ it. It feelsss like insstinct takesss over, and thisss one is just barely holding onto the leash. Erm, thisss one can ssshow, but... not here. They do not wisssh to ssscare anyone. And considering the recent undead incursion..." he rolls a hand.

She gasps! "Aww! You want to go to the Colosseum and get mad at each other?" The Gobbo attempts to hop down, but just sort of leans forwards, her feet outstretched as if to reach the floor. "Uh. Could you give me... a little push?"

The massive makari rubs his neck. "Erm. Sssure. Thisss one doess not want to... fight. It would devolve into a blood fessst maybe."

The man blinks, and he chuckles, reaching down to pick the gobber up off his leg and place her down on the ground.

"They would not wisssh to shove you," he mentions.

There's momentary resistance, before she's freed from his icy grip. "Ow.", she says ruefully as she's set down, her hands going to her legs and behind, rubbing quickly. "I was frozen to your leg.", Murder says with a laugh. "And it's okay if you shoved me, I did ask." The Gobbo hops up and down, then. "But wouldn't it be exciting? I could handle it, I'll work really hard!"

Skielstregar looks a bit embarrassed. "Ssssorry. That isss why they wear many clothesss to keep that from happening."

A reluctant sigh. "... exciting? No, thisss one dosss not like inflicting pain. But alasss, yesss. We can... do that." He rubs his face, standing up. "Well, thisss one isss well fed. Perhapsss thisss is a good time."

Her little hand reaches up to pat his arm again. "It's okay, we don't have to. I can hear the reluctance in your voice. Forgive a little Gobbo, I am just excited to try my strength against yours. You'll probably kick my ass. But it would make me stronger, I think."

Skiel looks down at the gobbo, him shifting on his feet some. Thinking. Considering. "... hmm. Perhapsss... it may provide sssome insight into our ressspective... erm, methods?" he reasons with himself. "... fine. But we ssstop early, okay? Thisss one'sss other ssside getsss a bit... bloodthirsssty."

The eagerness is very obvious in her eyes, but her head cants slightly to the side. "Are you certain? I really wish to, but you did seem very hesitant. You know you'll hurt me. And I will hurt you. But that's what clerics are for."

She pauses for a moment, her eyes narrowing.

"Are you worried you might try to eat me?"

Skielstregar's entire demeanor shifts as he straightens up ramrod straight. "N-No!" he sputters out. "Thisss one would not do ssssuch a thing!"

Cannabalism is a big no no in makari culture.

The Gobbo laughs. "Well, I am not promising I won't bite." Then she's pulling all manner of furs, and a pair of sturdy boots, before heading out of the Fire Lodge. "I am teasing you, Skiel."

Skielstregar relaxes somewhat, but he gives out a nervous chuckle. "Y-Yesss, of course. Erm. Let usss be off."

He pauses a bit as she heads out. "... well. Not anymore at leassst..." he murmurs to himself as he trails behind her.
