  • Emitter: Ansrir
  • Characters: Aya Level 4, Charlotte Level 4, Jokul level 4, Lenore Level 2, Raniq Level 2, Virton Level 2
  • Place: Alexandria - Random Bar
  • Time: Apr 19, 2016
  • Summary: A man in shining armor shows up in town. That is a good thing, right?
  • APL: 4
  • Encounter 1: 1 Rogue 4 half-mul'niessa, CR 4

It is about seven in the evening in Alexandria, a lot of the main hustle and bustle has died down as a lot of the shops are closed to spend time with their families and friends. There still are a few places open, like the hospitals and bars, being a symbiotic pair of industries that usually end up supplying each other with new customers. So, where does the evening find you at this time?

Charlotte would likely be at a bar. While she didn't drink the normal swill that the others did, but she managed with a bit of red wine. Yup, screams of someone who thought she was a little better than others, but then, she also tried to hold herself to a somewhat higher ideal as well. This included manners. *BELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLCH* "Excuse me." Manners.

Aya also enjoys a pub at times. If it is a reputable establishment, she will enjoy a drink. If not, she is probably more interested in conversation with one or more of the regular patrons.

"Aw. Come on. One more?" Lenore is leaning against some mechanical man in a poncho as he leads her away from one of the local drinking holes where she's obviously already had enough of the celebrations for several evenings to come. Still, her smile is bright, one arm vaguely reaching Virton's shoulder as they stagger on.
"I mean, you have my back... right?" She coos at him, her head tilting to the side to lean against his arm as she grips at it, a soft 'clang' as she meets the metal beneath the cloth, bouncing a now ringing noggin off it.
"Ooch! You, uh, that solid all over?" Her brows lift, a soft laugh exhaled as she meanders along. Poor thing has just let the night get away from her, that's all. Her accent is a strange and lilting thing, and her chatter is more playful than suggestive as she elbows him lightly, straightening herself up and heaving out a breath. She looks so proper, all done up with leathers and feathers aplenty, all the pomp and panache one might expect of a swashbuckler, all out of sorts. A casual rosy hue creeps over her features in idle blushing as she clears her throat, releasing the man's arm, resting her hand at the pommel of her sword. "Ahem. That is to say..." It's a trainwreck. She's got nothing.
"... Lenore San Antigua," She introduces, apparently for the first time. "Not usually this drunk, this city has some ... spirit. .. ss."
"No." comes the buzzing tone of voice from the poncho-wearing mechanical man. "Yer drunk 'nuff already, partner. You don't need no more drinks to ruin you any more, y'see?" A small pause, and a small 'puff' comes out from the exhaust pipe that seems to come out from the Golem's mouth -- except the mouth is a grill with a backlight that buzzes orange when he speaks.
"I am. Golem, partner, means I don't got none of them there fleshy bits that y'all sorts got." He shifts, to support Lenore as they stumble out of the bar, a faint hiss and clank of pistons and gears as he wobbles, obviously unused to supporting someone elses weight - that is, until she stands upright. He lifts up a hand, fingers spreading to grip at a hat - then the fingers grip a few times at thin air - and the hand lowers a bit.
"Ya can call me Virton. S'alright, it seems to be a fleshy thing for you folks t'do, drinkin' all them spirits and beers and such. Looks like a lotta fun, iffin' you be askin' me."

And in contrast to the people who are either A) Already in a drinking hole or B) Heading out... There's Jokul, who's just heading to the way of an aforementioned drinking hole. Apparently, some people end up working REALLY late into the evening sometimes.

As happenstance may be, this does cause the heavily-armed Aesir to cross paths with with Lenore and Virton, even if just on account of just when they're getting to the door. And it's enough, on his part, to just stop and take in the sight of the two for the briefest moment it takes him to wonder if we're already at *that* point in the night.

The answer, by the way, is yes. Yes we are.

Aya doesn't over-indulge, and concludes her business in the irreputable bilge-watering hole. She steps outside, mindful of drunkards, conscious or otherwise. She'd hate to stain her clothes in ...whatever that might be they're wearing.

As everyone seems to be getting settled, there is the sound which could be compared to metal scraping against stone, if the metal were nails and the stone was a slate chalkboard. A few clanks like a metal tankard bouncing on the floor and then the door is opened in force by a suit of armor. It appears to be full plate, those in the know would be able to tell. Those really in the know would be able to identify the armor itself is older and poorly maintained. A crest is shown on the sheild that is attached to its left arm and it looks like it has been put on more recently than the armor itself.

Raniq had just left dinner at a tabern and was heading toward the City Library.

Aya's ears are sharp, and not only due to their points. She turns towards the sounds of scraping and clanking to watch the armored figure. A crest suggests nobility, but birthright and noble are not intrinsicly linked. Especially when spirits are involved.

Wiping her mouth with a hankerchief, Charlotte looks over as the door is forcefully opened and she looks at the armor. "Interesting." She says as she tries to look over the armor and crests.....while keeping out of reach of the armored one.

<OOC> Ansrir says, "If you wish to try and know the heraldry, go ahead and check your knowledge."

Raniq enters the establishment in the wake of the armored figure, staring at him with great interest, almost studying him. Raniq's ermine is looking alert, nestled upon his shoulders. GAME: Raniq rolls knowledge/nobility: (7)+8: 15 GAME: Raniq rolls knowledge/local: (9)+8: 17 GAME: Lenore rolls knowledge/local: (11)+6: 17 GAME: Charlotte rolls knowledge/nobility: (11)+8: 19 GAME: Charlotte rolls knowledge/local: (10)+8: 18

An imaginary cap is doffed toward Jokul as a somewhat lopsided, but dashingly dazzling smile creeps over Lenore's lips; there is, of course, that glint in her eye -- the mischeivous sort, the scandalous thing that she is, that spark of life that has gone missing in the gaze of so many as of late. In passing, she gives him a wink, and draws her attentions back to Virton, "Good to know, my unusual new friend, good to ... know..." Her eyes trail toward the knight, squinting into a narrow slit, as though she were trying to focus.
"A good evening, my fine s-HCC~!..." Her brows shoot upward, and a hand smacks over her mouth. "... My fine... sir." She tries again.
"Evenin', partner." states Virton, who's head has to crane upwards to look towards the towering Aesir. By the buzzing tone of his voice, it sounds like he's smiling in greeting - but when your face doesn't have any real moving parts, it's hard to convey that properly. There's a puff of acrid smoke that escapes from the cigar-like exhaust tube that protrudes from the corner of his mouth. "I hope s'goin' fine for yerself." He buzzes, before turning his head towards Lenore.
"Yer fulla good humour this evenin', partner. S'a great thing. Ah've been lookin' bout for someone ta teach me ta.. well. Y'know, act like you them there fleshy folk. I'll pay fer yer drinks?" After he'd been saying she's done for the night. "I mean. Later and all that. Some stew first might be in order for ya. You lot.. uh.. Eat stew, right? It's not just a Khazad thing?"

You paged (Raniq, Charlotte) with 'The heraldry is from an older house, judging by the embellishments that have been built into it. The closest house that you can identify the Dulac family, however there were some chages to that crest to make the one you see now.' To (Ansrir, Charlotte), Raniq pages: Just out of curiosity, you have a blazon for it? You paged (Raniq, Lenore) with 'The heraldry is not from a local house, it seems to be more from Stormgarde region.' You paged (Raniq, Charlotte) with 'Not made, but can mock one up in seconds'

"It's only the evening?" Asks Jokul with an arch of his brows sent towards Lenore, at Virton's greeting. As if though somehow the state of the former should somehow suggest... different. Whatever else he was going to say to the two is distracted by the, uh, knight prowling through and inside the pub, and in his own curiousity he slips past the other two to peek through the door and inside. "...Huh. Do *knights* usually come around here?"

Charlotte is looking over the crest that is on the armor. "Do you talk or are you standing here to look menacing? Is that crest part of the Dulac family? Or is it for something else?" Not one for diplomacy, this one.

Raniq approaches the knight. "May I be of service, Sir Knight? You look like perhaps you have lately had some trouble. I am Raniq of Alexandria, third son of Lord Alvar Aiglos. Your arms seem reminiscent to me of Stormgardic heraldry."

Aya knows nothing of the crests here, nor in most other places that matter little. She does have ears, and eyes, though. Others are intent to question the knight, which means she doesn't need to. For now.

The armored figure moves further into the room as it gets the comments from Charlotte and Raniq. "I am looking for someone," comes a voice from the armor. A hand goes to lift the visor from the helmet, revealing a young face, someone perhaps in their early twenties. "I have tracked them here from my homeland, and I come seeking recompense." The voice echoes a little in the armor as it was made for a person of a larger stature.

There is a bit of shuffling in the back as the armored figure begins to speak, someone apparently finally noticed the figure that has the main crowd's attention.

<OOC> Lenore says, "Could we try perception to notice the shuffling dude?"

<OOC> Ansrir says, "If you're looking to see a specific cause of it, you would need perception."

<OOC> Raniq says, "+2 because familiar is within arm's reach"

"Well....how about you tell us what's going on, hmm? besides 'looking for someone' Sounds so ominous." Charlotte says as she looks about behind her, but sees that others have it covered.... Raniq looks at the person in the other room that seemed to react to the knight.

You paged (Lenore, Raniq) with 'It is pretty easy to make out a figure moving around some of the other patrons, trying to avoid being seen as much as possible. They were good enough to have at least kept their face from being seen.'

Following the knight back toward the bar, Lenore rests in the open doorway; obnoxious, but not meaning to make herself an obstacle. Her arms cross over her chest, a vacant smirk ever-present on her lips. She's about to say something when she catches a glimpse of the man moving in the back, her eyes narrowing sharply, lips pursing ever so slightly. "Don't suppose it might be that skulky fellow back there? I mean, I may be drunk, but he's either up to something, or you two have shared time and it's gotten awkward for him to be in the same room." A golden talon-covered finger points at him, er, pointedly.

From afar, to (Ansrir, Lenore): Raniq awaits a visual description. To (Ansrir, Raniq), Lenore pages: We got one. He's hiding his face. Trying not to be seen. To (Ansrir, Lenore), Raniq pages: but big/small? clothing color? etc. You paged (Lenore, Raniq) with 'Medium sized, dressed in dark blue with purple trim, wearing what appears to be leather boots and gloves made from dark black leather with fur trim.'

"I don't think so," buzzes Virton towards Jokul. "I mean. Yes. It is evenin', but, uh. I think this is a bit rough for them knightly sorts." He quickly adds to the end. As Lenore detatches to move on over to the doorway, the Golem's head swivels on its axis to the point where one would probably start wincing, if he were alive. Then, his body turns in concert with a whirr of mechanics. He stands a little bit to the side, to make sure he isn't blocking the doorway, but with a soft 'vvrt' noise, his neck extends an inch or three, so that he can poke one orange-glowing eye pass the doorway.

"They took an heirloom of my family's," Says the armored figure, moving closer to those asking the questions. "It was a mulblood with grey skin and hair, who had come to our home seeking a place to stay for the night as they were passing through, a wandering performer on the road to seek inspiration. We offered them a place to spend the night, even shared with them our food. In the morning, the had absconded with my great grandfather's blade. The blade had been a gift for his service, a custom made job by the smith. It is mostly sentimental to us, but the thief must have wanted it due to the jewels inlaid in the hilt. I have since tracked them to this city."

His attention drawn to a medium-build figure in dark blue with purple trim, Raniq points him/her out to the young foreign knight and says, "Is that the person you seek, Sir?"

<OOC> Ansrir looks at Virton's extending neck and is reminded of Mekaneck from He-man. :P <OOC> Lenore says, "So, dude ignored me, yes? lol" <OOC> Lenore says, "Since I was ... asking, pointing, etc."

Aya listens to the explanation, then follows Raniq's pointing towards another with her eyes.

<OOC> Raniq says to Lenore, "Perhaps the knight fail his Perception check to hear/see you through that helmet."

"Maybe a little more likely for 'knights' with armor that was probably fitted for someone else too, right?" Jokul murmurs quietly back to Virton's way, still on the other side of the door's treshold -- quiet enough that probably only him and Lenore would hear it, too. And speaking of-- while everyone else's attention is going to the knight and the fellow at the back, *his* attention actually turns to Virton when all the... turning and neck-extending happens. He doesn't say anything, but he does give him a *look*. Golem or not, that's still disturbing as far as he's concerned.

The knight turns to look at the figure that Lenore indicates, hmming as they try and make out details. "The attire seems the same," the offer as they push themselves to a stand, "But without seeing their face, I cannot guarantee." Of course, at the indication by Lenore, the figure seems to start pushing through the crowd as if trying to get out of there quicker now.

"Must be the person." Charlotte mutter. "Let's grab him and find out....."

"They be tryin' to git 'way now, either way." quips Virton, who's head is still sticking up behind Lenore's. He obviously isn't going to go charging in before a fully armoured knight, anyway. "So, I think some folk should maybe try an' get a hold of him before he makes an exit, eh, partner?" The Golem queries, his voice buzzing electronically all the while.

Aya also begins to walk towards the indicated one. Along the way, she calls the shadows of the watering whole to her. They answer and flock. Gather and condense. Thicken, deepen, and darken.

<OOC> Aya drops a Darkness, if that's all right. <OOC> Ansrir nods.

"Uh," Lenore watches as the room fills with darkness, people start preparing spells, and Steiner goes clanking off after the figure she'd pointed out, lifting a hand to scratch delicately at the back of her head with a baffled expression on her face. "... Oh! Back door!" She turns swiftly, just about faceplanting as she does so in her drunken state, before her grace saves her and she rights herself and starts jogging around the back of the building, "I'll cut him off! You, uh, you..." She pauses, skipping from foot to foot as she flails a hand in Virton's direction, "Ah, eh, PARTNER," She forgets his name already. "You have that... sticky do-hicky thing, you just slow that guy down! Okay?! Okay!" She then skips off, tearing around the corner and flying down an alley like she knows where she is.
       She's -helping-.

<OOC> Raniq says, "Can I release my spell now, targeted just in front of where I think the back door is?"

You paged Aya with 'Is your comment meant to come across as a threat, like you're telling them to surrender? Or some other way?'

It is dark, especially with the shadows eminating from Aya covering a large moving distance as she comes towards the figure trying to get out. As the darkness encroaches, there is a reply to the comment from Aya, the sound of a few people's cries of alarm, perhaps for having all the light suddenly disappear, and then the sounds of wood being broken which brings about a few more cries of alarm.

"Sticky do-hicky, sticky do-hicky?" buzzes Virton in confusion, before he clicks on. "OH!" Yeah. That thing. His neck audiably clicks down back into place, locking in there. The Golem takes one step to put himself more into the doorway as the small cannon on his shoulder locks up into place. A scent of o-zone as it powers up, and the Golem raises both hands to brace it in place. Rather than a jolt of electricity, the spinning radar-dish dome at the front shoots out a single bolt of something that more resembles a jet of green ichor. It goes sizzling through the air, missing the ol' Skulkster, but instead manages to pin down some random member in the crowd.
"Dangit! Many apologies, partner!" He calls out to the glooped individual, who can only muffle angrily in complaint.

<OOC> Raniq says, "The Skulkster has total cover or total concealment in the Darkness?"

<OOC> Ansrir says, "Total concealment, so 50 miss chance in darkness."

Aya pages: It's not meant as a threat.

Drawing her rapier, Charlotte stays outside of the darkness that Aya created and puts the tip of the blade on the ground....waiting for the guy to come her way.

The knight keeps moving for the darkness, and surprisingly, at least based on the sounds, has managed to keep their footing. After all, that much metal... you're bound to hear that falling. They seem to be pushing their wat through anything as anyone outside the darkness sees one person come flying out of the darkness to land on the barroom floor, but not the figure that was indicated earlier.

It is now Aya's turn! Raniq is next!

You paged Aya with 'So far, based on what has been said, it does seem to be. I believe with your vision you can see in the dark so the darkness is no problem for you, right?'

Aya pages: Yes. It shouldn't hinder him, either.

You paged Aya with 'Half-sil don't get that bonus of darkvision, they get low light.'

Aya pages: Ah.

<OOC> Aya poses.

Long distance to Aya: Ansrir can discribe what you saw if tyou would like before yuo pose. Aya pages: Oh! Yes, please. You paged Aya with 'Okay, so your darkness had an impact on the half-sil, since it reduced what they could see, plus with all the people milling about, they ended up bumping into someone and tripping, thus the 120+4 dex check, which failed. They then (based on the 1d6 roll) fell over a chair and ended up on the floor. Which wouldn't be too bad, except the sleep spell knocked out people nearby, so now one of the people is sleeping on top of them.' You paged Aya with 'The 1d2 roll was to see the odds of someone falling on him. :P' Aya pages: Ah! Aya pages: So he's covered? Long distance to Aya: Ansrir nods. "Basically, right now, he's literally pinned. If there was a referee, he would be going for the three count.

<OOC> Ansrir says, "Sorry for the holdup, just resolving a few issues. We now return you to your irregularly scheduled plot, already in progress."

Aya calls out from the darkness. "I don't see him in all these falling drunks! I think he escaped out the back, but these idiots are in the way." There is a pile or three of sleeping, drunken, or falling people in there. She, and the darkness, her old friend, begin to move towards the door.

Having not yet ascertained that (A) the knight is telling the truth, or (B) the Skulkster is guilty, Raniq only intends to prevent the Skulkster's escape, not actually harm it... yet, at least, so he casts and holds another spell, awaiting the Skulkster's emergence from the darkness.

Virton pages: Since I got Darkvision and all, am I still good for seeing the evil Skulkster? You paged Virton with 'Could I get a perception roll, please?' GAME: Virton rolls perception: (3)+4: 7

"I can see in the dark, partner. That fella's just movin' around helluva lot. He done ducked under a table, blast it." The Golem wobbles as the huge Aesir gives him a friendly slap on the side - for all the metal, he's a lighter chassis. The cannon on the shoulder begins to power down, retracting back to point up the way, the 'safety' clicking on. "She can handle herself, partner, but with all this dark goin' abouts, might be wise to give her another set of eyes."

With that, the Golem begins to jog around to the back door, an audiable *tink* *tink* *tink* of his spurs as he jogs.

<OOC> Virton says, "I jog around to go help Lenore."

It is now Charlotte's turn! Jokul is next!

       Scamper, scamper, scamper.
Lenore has actually managed not to trip over herself, the sobering chase doing well to clear her senses, the excitement thrumming through her as her alcohol permeated blood wooshes on. She'll sleep well tonight. Her gloved hand moves to the hilt of her blade as she nears the end of the alley, yarded artfully free of its holstering with a skill fairly uncommon among the inebriated masses. She skids to a stop by the back door, hopping a step or two in her staggering stall, before her damascus blade is whipped to point toward the doorway, waiting ever so impatiently for it to swing open.
"Ha! Lenore San Antigua is no -fool-, you sneak! Show yourself! Meet my blade in," Swish! "Vigorous!" Woosh! "Battle!"
Swish-swish goes her rapier, before it points again.
She breathes heavily... her shoulders slouch.
       "En garde?!"

<OOC> Charlotte says, "Looks like, if he hasn't come out yet, I'll keep my place, so he doesn't have a way out."

GAME: NEW ROUND!

     Ansrir advances the initiative order.

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 17.
It is now Clanky's turn! Aya is next!
Charlotte is still standing guard. Well...the darkness should fall sometime soon...or Aya will find the person....

"She is also *incredibly drunk*," Jokul calls after Virton, without turning from the door and... everything going on beyond it, while his free hand scratches at the side of his stubbled cheek. "...Some barfight."

From afar, Aya hopes she isn't throwing in too many wrenches in things.

"FACE ME, You craven wagtail," offers the knight as they go pushing through things, "Someone rid us of this etheral darkness!" they add.

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 16.
It is now Aya's turn! Raniq is next!

You paged Aya with 'No problems, I can run with it, just trying to figure how to keep it intreresting and the like.'

From afar, Aya has a wild idea. Aya pages: Would I be able to get his cloak off of him? You paged Aya with 'You can, yes. He did free himself from the sleeping person you see, but beyond that has not moved.' From afar, Aya apologizes. " I would like to get his cloak from him, to stick on someone else stumbling around in the dark." You paged Aya with 'Make two sleight of hand checks please.' GAME: Aya rolls sleight of hand: Trained Use Only: 0 to Ansrir From afar, Aya hrms. "Guess that won't work out well." You paged Aya with 'Well.. do dex checks.' You paged Aya with 'It is not really being sneaky, they may know something happened, but it isn't like they can immediately see it.' You paged Aya with 'Sleight of hand is more for sneaking stuff in and out unnoticed.'

Raniq's prepared spell fizzles, and he merely stands there watching events unfold.

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 13.
It is now Raniq's turn! Lenore is next!

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 9.
It is now Lenore's turn! The Skulkster is next!

<OOC> Lenore says, "Still waiting at the back door, holding action."

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 8.
It is now The Skulkster's turn! Virton is next!

GAME: Aya rolls dexterity: (20)+3: 23 to Ansrir GAME: Aya rolls dexterity: (3)+3: 6 to Ansrir

You paged Aya with 'Cloak is off no problem, pinned on someone haphazardly, so it mostly just hangs there.'

       Fierce, ready, stalwart.
Lenore stands at that back door as though it were her sworn duty, gaze leveled just so, smirk a suitably smarmy tilt, chin elevated a fraction to drive home the superiority. The duelist just stands there, breath still heaving, face frozen in that mask of mockery, nostrils flaring as she tries to suck in breath whilst not looking like some panting mutt. She hears the golem coming, a brow quirking, the muscles in her face twitching as she fights to remain exactly this way.
He'll come out! She knows it!

From afar, Aya nods and poses.

<OOC> Aya says, "Is someone blocking the back door on the inside?"

<OOC> Virton says, "Afaik, no."

"This way!" Aya calls out and moves for the back door. Only then does the darkness recede. Or, rather, it dissipates from her, shadows returning to their normal skulking spots.

<OOC> Ansrir says, "PErception checks from everyone, please."

GAME: Virton rolls perception: (2)+4: 6 GAME: Jokul rolls perception: (9)+5: 14 GAME: Lenore rolls perception: (14)+6: 20 GAME: Charlotte rolls perception: (17)+9: 26 GAME: Aya rolls perception: (10)+12: 22

As the darkness goes away, it look like there's been quite the busy time with various tables and chairs being moved and knocked around, not to mention a few people lying on the ground with some asleep. In admist all this, you can make out the figure that had been trying to sneak out before, granted this time with all the attention on them and the lack of moton, especially since one persn got tangled and others fell asleep, the crowd is pretty motionless.

GAME: Raniq rolls perception +2: (4)+2+2: 8

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 5.
It is now Virton's turn! Charlotte is next!

Virton pages: Can I see the skulkster? Since I got a low perception roll Virton pages: If I kick open the door, that is. You paged Virton with 'Anyone who can see the inside can see them, they don't have an area to hide, so kick it open and spot them.'

<OOC> Virton says, "Kicking open the door and firing off a tanglefoot ray."

GAME: Virton spends ONE use of DEATH RAY. GAME: Virton rolls 1d20+5: (1)+5: 6 (EPIC FAIL)

<OOC> Virton says, "Fml" <OOC> Virton :D <OOC> Lenore says, "A true cowboy." <OOC> Ansrir says, "Guess you're tangled now?" <OOC> Virton says, "Probably!" <OOC> Whirlpool says, "Don't think so :)" <OOC> Whirlpool says, "I don't /think/ a 1 will cause that problem for an artificer. xD"

<OOC> Virton says, "Whatever works/is humerous for everyone!"

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

     Round Three - Init 5.
It is now Charlotte's turn! Jokul is next!
With one spurred boot coming up, Virton promptly kicks the back door open in an attempt to help Lenore identify who should get the pointy end of the sword. The death-ray-slash-cannon-thing on his shoulder pops up as he does so, and off comes another burst of that green inchor -- which this time reflects off a glass, off a tin mug, bounces once more off a glass, and then promptly sticks the Golem's foot to the ground. "DANG BLAST IT!"

<OOC> Charlotte says, "all righty. I can see the guy, right?" <OOC> Ansrir says, "Yup."

<OOC> Charlotte says, "alllll righty. Try to keep him from running....." <OOC> Charlotte says, "Sorry, but he hasn't attacked yet and I'm trying to drive him to the back door. Wanna get the other guys in on this too."

GAME: NEW ROUND!

     Ansrir advances the initiative order.
     Round Four - Init 20.
It is now Jokul's turn! Clanky is next!

<OOC> Charlotte says, "Still holding action."

Now that the darkness is down, Charlotte raises her rapier. "Maybe if you stopped trying to run....we'd be willing to listen to you....."

<OOC> Jokul says, "Holding action at the front door in case he decides to try to turn thataway."

GAME: Ansrir advances the initiative order.

It is now Clanky's turn! Aya is next!

As people can see clearly now as the darkness is gone, the knight can not only see all obstacles in their way, they can also see the target of their search as they move towards the moving target and end up smacking hem upside the head and watching them fold like cheap tailoring.

GAME: Ansrir removes the timestop. Timestop by Ansrir has left. GAME: You remove the timestop.

The swashbuckler still stands on the other side of the door, the one now kicked in by the guns-blazin' sheriff, whom is now stuck to the floor by his own device's misfiring. There's a momentary pause, before she lets out a hearty laugh, swipes her rapier back and forth, slides it back into its holster and steps around Virton, hands on her hips. "Another day saved, another feather in our hats. Why, I do believe I should be getting on home to bed. Or floor. ... I'll be laying down somewhere!" Lenore quips, smiling wide.

"Y'know, lady. If you'd stop with that whole dark what-have-you business, folks would be doin' far easier on the seein' and the spottin'." buzzes Virton at Aya, as he leans down to his left foot. He prods at the goop that has hardened, sealing his foot to the ground. "Dangit. I make some good stuff. I just can't shoot worth a dang.." He heaves a few times, before giving a low sigh as he begins to idly pick at it. "Dangit, by all that's good an' made by Reos.." He heaves what can only be approximated as a sigh, a low irritated tone blurting out from his vocal box, a puff of dark smoke escaping from the exhaust pipe in his mouth. "Some rest an' repair would be mighty fine, partner. Mighty fine.. Soon as I get mah boot loose.."

"If others would learn to see in the dark, they would be much better at spotting many things," Aya offers in counterpoint. "The land is dark every night. You'd think more would learn to adapt."

Raniq replies, "There's dark, and them there's DARK."

"Gotta disagree, ma'am. Folks round these parts are mostly normal. You gotta learn ta work with what ya got, an' they got eyes that work like normal. An' that stuff ain't helpin' nobody. Hells bells, it was even dark for my eyes, and they ain't normal eyes." Chip, chip, peel, and his boot comes free. "Hoooah. There we go." He picks himself up, pistons working as he straightens. "Alright, partner." He states to Lenore. "Lets git, bidness been done an' all that."

A hand is raised up towards Jokul, who was guarding the other door. "Thanks fer guardin' the door, partner! Maybe we meet up again sometime, y'hear!?" Well, it's hard not to hear, considering he's upped the volume on his voicebox. He tones it down after that, though, with a puff of exhaust out of the pipe.

Charlotte says, "Not all of us can naturally see in the dark like you can." She says as she slides her rapier ino her scabbard."

"You'll find soon enough that it can be awfully lonely in the dark, madam. Awfully lonely." Lenore offers with a smile, before she nods stiffly once, bows elaborately with a twirl of her wrist in airy salute, before straightening herself and heading out the back door with Virton in tow.

From afar, Aya still isn't even certain whom they attacked.

Raniq is still curious how the matter of the allegedly stolen family heirloom turns out.
