It is a cloudly evening, the sun setting swirl of purple and reds nearly gone. A fine time as any too pursue a job posted to the Explorers Guild, though the matter seems more internal than exploratory. The instructions directed those interested to meet a man outside a certain building that stands before you, 'The Dollhouse'. Its name written boldy on a sign outside the pink and white store front, a dwarf described as the job poster, has the look of someone that hasn't slept in days is pacing sluggishly infront, mumbling something to himself.

Nels rides up on a shaggy, rough-looking riding dog. It's got to be a dog, they wouldn't allow a warg-riding gobber to just ride out on a warg, would they? But then again, it's Alexandria, and so it's hard to say. "Howdy," he calls out by way of greeting. "You the fellow that posted that job at the Guild?" he wonders. Though, it looks like the right place, so he ought to be.

Sarcis walks up to see the dwarf, her eyebrow beginning a slow arch as she sees the vibrant pink. Only something so... it must be evil. There's no other explanation for such a place. She pulls her bow free, slipping a tip over the top of her foot while her second steps through the loosened string. She tenses the freed limb and pushes the loop up and over the other notched end. Exploratory? She's not taking changes with frills. "Even if he's not, this place must not be natural." The Oruch's eyes flick toward Nels for moment before turning to the dwarf.

When Zant comes along, running alongside the street with his dual scarves whipping about behind him from the motion, he... ends up coming screeching to a halt when he actually sees the storefront and the... er, colorscheme of it there. "...Uuuuuuh," he lets out in an akward sound, eyes slowly turning towards Sarcis after overhearing her words. "...It's, um... A very interesting selection for paintjob, at least."

"Ack!!" The dwarf yelps as he jumps back from the sudden greeting. "Din' do tha'!" Pants the seemingly oldish dwarf. As he takes a moment to catch his breath, he curiously glances over those gathered before saying, "Sorreh, Ay've nah had tha week fer surprises.. Ye muss be from tha guild?" Snapping a pointed finger towards the entrance of the building, the dwarf eclaims, "Thar be the mischievious runts! Can't run me shop in piece!"

Nels gives Zant and Sarcis puzzled looks. "What's wrong with the paintjob?" he asks. When the dwarf gets all flustered, he'll hop off the riding dog, or wolf, if that's what it is, and pull a paper thing like a smal sausage link from a beltpouch. He bites off the end, tilts it down the dragonspitter, tilts a ball out after it, and wads up the paper last and tamps it down with a long rod. "I hear it," he says to the dwarf. "We'll take care of things," he promises.

"It's not natural." The Oruch says as she finishes stringing and holds the bow, a point of a limb toward the door as she murmurs, "It's... pink." Her free hand reaches up to sweep some of her hair back behind a bladed ear as she arches a crated brow. A slow smile slipping along her lips as she stares to Nels with those black eyes. "And it sounds /infested/." A sigh and that free hand is already dropping down to her quiver to pull out an arrow and nock it. "Or the mannequins can move on their own. So how about it?" The eyes flicking to the owner of the store, "Which one is it?"

"Pink in itself is an okay color, really..." Zant murmurs, with a sheepish smile given to the Oruch first, and then over to the Dwarf. "...It's just. Not common, you know? Took me off guard, at least." But, his ear twitches, and his eyes turn to the door, and he stiffens up. "...That sounds about right," he agrees to Sarcis' assessment. "Both of those, actually. I... suppose there's only one way to find out, isn't there?"

Eyes growing wide at the now loaded dragonspitter, the dwarven vendor calls out, "Min' tha good's!" Frownging slightly as he continues, "Thar nay all bad." Glances towards the others as they pass, he shoves his hands on his hips before devensivly replying, "An was wrong wit pink!?" Looking back towards his shop, the dwarf muttering something under breath tiredly.

<OOC> Viranchi says, "everyone done with dwarf? who opens door?" <OOC> Viranchi says, "(not rushing, jus didn't know if waiting on me)" <OOC> Sarcis says, "Well I did ask him what's inside." <OOC> Viranchi says, "eep!" <OOC> Viranchi says, "missed that >.<;"

Nels peers at Sarcis and Zant and says quietly, "I know a little Khazdul, but I can't understand half of what he says." He'll move forward to throw open the door, though he remains behind it as he does this. Or to one side if the door opens in. Or in front of it, if the door doesn't open.

"Twas a' special ordah, four doll's ah special make.. they be runnin havoc!" Cries the dwarf frantically.

<OOC> Sarcis says, "S'okay!" <OOC> Sarcis says, "Crap, are you waiting on me?" <OOC> Viranchi says, "possibly :P if everyones good can describe interior" <OOC> Viranchi is in the habbit of waitin for everyone to pose, "dono if thats good or bad" <OOC> Nels posed, so, waiting on everyonre <OOC> Zant says, "We can probably move on inside" <OOC> Sarcis says, "Oh! Let's move inside, please." <OOC> Sarcis says, "If no one else has questions, Sarcis doesn't have any more."

As the door swings open, the shops namesake becomes apparent as a multitude of porcelain dolls decorate the interior. A black, soul-less gaze comes from each of the porcelain dolls, mimicking the form of just about every race represented in Alexandria, from lime green gobblins to dusky skinned ogres all in frilly dresses. Though a variety of other toys litter the displays, mostly jack in the boxes and the like, a few adult sized mannequins stand unassisted in various poses. A chorus of soft giggles echos out from somewhere inside.

Nels is at the door, and peers inside carefully, hiding behind the cover of the door as he squints into the interior. "Hey," he says to the dwarf, "that's some pretty nice stuff you have there."

The Oruch turns her head from one side to the other, she had opted for a more middle of the group than the front. She preferred her bow after all, and still kept the arrow attached to the string as she murmurs out to her companions, "He did say four? By the Gods this place is hideous. They're all in dresses." A crinkle of her nose, a sign of distaste. "Eww."

"He did say four," Zant confirms for Sarcis with a nod-- all while his gaze is drifting through the interior and taking in the mannequins. He... doesn't look comfortable. With the giggling echoing out, he actually shivers and ends up noting, "Okay, this is just... creepy."

"Aye.. try an nah break too much!" Yelps out the dwarf as he begins edging away from the property.

As the giggling persists on the left, towards the right, a young voice cackles, "Ohhhh! Playtime!" As one of the dolls suddenly lifts limply off the shelf and flys up, the voice continues, "Will you play with us?!"

Nels draws a bead as the doll picks up off the shelf and starts flying, and he pulls the trigger. The hammer snaps down, and there's a thundrous BANG as his gun erupts, smoke and flame jetting out as he fires. His shot punches through the doll's body, and through whatever was behind it as well. The property damage has begun. He immediately crouches down and starts fishing another round from his pouch.

Sarcis' eyes flick toward the doll that Nels then shoots. A frown as The woman holds off on shooting it with her own arrow as she thinks on this. A pause and then she waits for their hearing to sound less like cotton shoved into them to say "Sometimes they put a soul in the doll, if that's what they did, it probably is a doll behind this. I doubt it'd be that obvious though. Probably wants to have fun with us first."

<OOC> Zant says, "Gah sorry"

Zant jumps out of surprise when the gun suddenly goes off, turning a wide-eyed look at Nels first, and then at the doll. And then again at Sarcis, seemingly completely uncertain about how to deal with this particular situation. "So, uh-- what do we *do*? Do we just... I dunno..."

As the shot rings out, a yelp can be heard from outside before an frazzled voice calls out, "Ay'll be ah tha pub.. Tell 'e when ya din."

Meanwhile on the shops interior, with the now ruined doll hovering limply in the air, another voice calls out from too the left, "BANG!" While a third chimes in, "That's not nice!" Towards the right, the giggling begins again as limp doll remains begins too do figure eights. "I'm not a doll, I'm a real girl!" The voices giggle in unison.

Nels looks up as he frantically reloads, using the doorframe for cover. "Well," he says to Sarcis, "I shot a doll. Do you want I should shoot more of them?" He hearkens at the voice, but he's not going anywhere til he's reloaded. "It says it's not a doll." He'll try tp peek through the doorway without putting too much of himself inside.

"Well, no." Sarcis says as she stays outside herself, "I mean, fill it full of holes if you want. If it /is/ what I think, then there really is a soul in there." Sarcis looks about once more, fixing her eyes on Zant for a moment. She has, after all, worked with him once before. "But also, it's only part, usually like the eyes, hair, something personal. Or if anyone has any tricks like-" A narrow of her eyes, the crafted brows dipping down as she leans her head around the corner of the door to see the doll. "I'm sorry about my friend, he was afraid. Maybe we can talk? I think we need to talk about what's going on with you." Sarcis was going to try to reason with this soul instead of just trying to kill it.

Nels gapes at Sarcis, but sighs and after he tamps his next shot down, he scurries back to Zant and Sarcis and says sourly, "If you want to talk to some evil spirit, be my guest. But I'm out of it, then." He stalks back to his dog, or wolf, and scratches its head fondly. "I'll just be over here when you all die."

"What happened too who?" Giggles a voice from the right as the floating doll begins to drunkenly swings about the air. With sudden clumbsyness, it knocks into one of the upper shelves along the northern wall. The voices begin giggling in unison once more as a plethora of porcelain beings flood onto the floor, before one towards the right calls out childishly, "Playtime! Playtime! Thats whats going on!" One of the voices on the left calls out, "Playtime?! Or you like the dwarf?!"

<OOC> Sarcis says, "Nels? Lead us off? Or shall I just go again?" <OOC> Sarcis says, "Oh wait." <OOC> Sarcis says, "You did already. Derpderpderp... There's a pause as Sarcis seems to think about it, her eyes darting off to one side and then the other, "What happened to you. You're no longer alive, you know. It would probably be best that you continue on to whatever is next. But if you'd like to play first, I suppose we could." The Orc looks to her two companions, shrugging her shoulders as she seems to be just making it up on the fly, "What exactly do you want to play? Is there rules for this game?"

Nels studiously ignores Sarcis and Zant. They're solving it their way, he's only watching to see if they get killed, so he can go back to the Guild and let them know. He does say, more grumbling to himself, "They wouldn't have hired me if they didn't want this thing shot." Petting his wolf, he eyes the building warily.

"Hide and Seek!" The voices cheer in unison too the orcs request before cackling with glee. Suddenly, it all falls to eerie silence aside from a soft patter echoing from the far edges of room.

Sarcis hisses out toward the others, "There's two of them moving along the right walls, but they're using the others for cover. Another on the left is doing the same thing." She keeps her eyes on the one to the left, stepping around the corner and into the shop proper as she pulls the bow up. "I see you!" She calls out.

GAME: Sarcis places herself on the map as SA at location K7 (Medium).

Nels just stands there with his shaggy dog, and he does not appear to be looking for anyone. He glowers a bit, and sneaks a couple peeks, but if he does see, he doesn't say.

As the orks shot lands wide, a pair of the dolls spring on the her in retaliation. "Tag!" One of the dolls cries as its finger glows with a sickly purple light before taping his prey. The other brandishes a tiny dagger, and swings it with wild abandon towards her ankles.

Nels is just sort of idly paying attention, though he snorts derisively when Sarcis takes out her bow and shoots at one of the dolls. "So we're not playing group hugs after all?" he asks tartly. Then they're on her, and he's got to do something about it now. He husltes over to where he can get a shot, shoulders his rifle, and fires, an explosion sounding as fire jets and smoke billows.

Daww... the doll's probably in love.

Sarcis doesn't look all that great, on the contrary, she looks a bit like she's on death's door herself. But she moves on autopilot, a step back to try and get some space, an reach back to grab a black-fletched arrow from her quiver and the rest is automatic. She pulls the string back till it's taut, sights, and looses. This time, when it hits, it seems to hit hard enough to pin it to the ground, the doll stopping -- lifeless. "Is that playing enough for you?!"

Nels sees he's got no pursuit, so he wheels his riding dog around, and he'll ride back to see if he can help Sarcis. He levels his thunderbelcher, and as he draws level with them, he fires, flame and smoke erupting, though his shot smashes something inoffensive in the shop.

Tireless in their chase, the two dolls quickly follow after the ork, slashing madly at her ankles to no affect.

Nels pulls out another round for his thunderbelcher and bites off the end of the paper cartridge, pouring powder down the barrel, then dropping the round in, then the paper, then ramming it all home with the long ramrod. He tamps it down as he guides his dog with his legs.

Sarcis had missed her previous shot, the black fletched arrow sticking into the ground next to the puppet as she reaches back for another, the movement of her steps and just alacrity managing to keep her out of harm's way as she draws and looses yet another shot. The bladed tip gouging out a line along it's porcelian visage as she murmurs, "You are far from innocent, you evil creatures."

Nels has to grit his teeth for this bit, but he reins in the dog he's riding, so he's holding still. This gives the goblin a much more stable firing platform, and he fires, putting a shot through part of the doll.

Sarcis stepped around them, managing to avoid them for the most part besides the knicks to her legs. It was only through a bit of inner strength that she managed to keep going at this point. She growls back at them, "I am playing, haven't you noticed?" And she draws out another arrow from her quiver. She knocks it, draws, and looses it to strike the one she had gouged in the cheek. "Don't you enjoy it?" This one takes off a chunk of the doll's skull. Not enough to kill it, but enough to hurt it.

Hacking manically at the ork with their tiny daggers, one of the dolls slowly says "PppllaaAayy wiith meeee!!" Part of the dolls once perfect head, now a blasted scalp, with a hole clear blasted through. The other seems unfazed by his peers fates, smiling gleefully as it chases after Sarcis.

Nels reloads his thunderbelcher once again, holding still when the little dolls don't seem interested in chasing his dog. He takes out the paper cartridge from a bandolier pouch and reloads with a practiced ease, watching in case they come after him.

Sarcis lets out a grunt as the doll catches her again in the legs as she's moving away from them, her own arrow skittering off the ground right next to it as she lets out a snort. "Soon. Soon I will have you both, and I /will/ play with you. I'll bring you to my friend, and deliver you to my Goddess."

"HA!" Yelps the badly damamged doll as it plunges a tiny dagger into Sarcis. While its prestine compatriot swings wide, it smiles wildly up at the ork, cocking its head slightly to one side.

As its companions fluff sprays over, the manic doll leaps at Sarcis, plunging its dagger deep into her thigh. "Goddess no play! Play Now!" Screams the doll as it latches on for a moment or two, before cutting a decent slice down the leg.

A grasp at those fletching and she draws another arrow up. A knock, and she looses it into the doll in return, "No. But she will." She growls back to it, narrowly avoiding its next attack.

GAME: Sarcis rolls 1d8+3: (8)+3: 11

There's a pause as that shot by Nels hit it in the stuffing. She takes a breath, lets it out, and reaches back to take another arrow from the quiver. She knocks it, draws it back, and with a narrow of her eyes she looses it into the doll. The hit pinning it to the ground after lancing through its eye. She moves slowly over toward the thing, taking slow steps with a sweep of the feet. She crouches down, tilting her head to the side, her free hand draws for a curved blade. Further she leans and she whispers something to it before running the blade through it. It's final rites in a way, before sheathing the blade under the jacket once more.

Nels looks around, and sees the store not-too-badly trashed. "I ... I think we won," he says slowly. Of course Sarcis did most of the work, so he can't complain. But.

Sarcis stands back up, now that she had finished with her little ritual (so to speak) and begins toward the shop as well. She knocks another arrow, and arches a brow slowly as the eyes pan around the shop. A blink and she draws the bow back and shoots an arrow through the head of a doll that looked similar to one of the ones shey just killed. Her hand moving to knock another arrow quickly, almost before the string had finished thruming. A walk through the shop as she mutters, "Yeah, something like that. I don't know if we won or not."
