There has been flyers put up all over, not in town, at least not in the good areas town. But in the shady parts of towns, and seemingly on random trees out in the wilderness, and near some dungeons. In a big cave there will be human battles to the death! For fun and sport.

And thus, Stjepan showed up in the do-gooder's crew, all righteously indignant about the co-option of competition as only a devotee of Angoron can be. "It's just not right," he grumbles, brow beetled.

Orion shows up with close friends and party members in Cressida and Silvana. He nods to Stjepan, "That is why we are all here, to put an end to this."

Silvana follows quietly behind Orion as she nods to Stjepan but doesn't have anything to say.

Lorien arrives, and adjusts the strap of his weapon a little. Hearing of the words, he quirks a brow, "It is quite a strange report," he says, as he looks about a little, and waits.

Cressida nods in agreement. "There must be some sort of coercion going on. I'm sure we'll figure it out when we get there and start busting things up."

Autumn arrives out of curiousity and looking a little upset "Are they... really making people fight to the death??"

Celestine would have quite certainly /not/ arrived with the do Gooder crew, one, because she's never met them! Second, they looked terrifying, especially the large Sith'Makar, something about their eyes always put her off. And well, their words about putting this whole operation down did more than a fair bit to put the Half-Sil down as she bites her cheek and coughs, knocking on the tree she maaaay have been hiding behind, trying to draw the parties attention. "I belive that was the intent." The Mulblood will cough awkwardly as she exposes herself, grinning uncomfortably.

The location isn't that difficult to find, as there is directions on the fliers, and it leads you to a cave in the shape of a giant skull. Well sort of, it looks like a pretty badly carved skull, but it sort of looks like it is supposed to be one.

Stjepan scowls, and nods to Celestine -- welcome to the do-gooders, happy accident! "Of course you're right." He shakes his head. "Well. This isn't subtle at all."

Orion rubs his chin, "Well if are not going to be subtle about this, should we just prepare our weapons and spells then just head over there?"

Silvana looks at the opening of the cave and tilts her head one side then the other and grins shaking her head.

Lorien settles at the front of the cave, and then folds his arms a little, his fingers brushing a bit at at his sides with fingerless gloves, as he sweeps his gaze towards the group, a smile for Cressida, and then for Celestine, and others, like Autumn, and Orion, etc. He then sighs, "I think that is not the best idea really," he adds towards the plan, "Even if they are not subtle, it means we may be able and do recon."

Cressida looks up at Orion and Stjepan. "I do think at least some of us ought to be able to go in and scout. Imean, there's an audience for these things, I would think. It's not just a big death match with no spectators. What'd even be the point of that?"

Autumn speaks up "Before we go, since it seems like we all have the intention of stopping this thing. Perhaps introductions are in order? And what everyone can do? I'm Autumn. I'm trained in the Arcane Arts.

Celestine has been recruited into her very first band of merry-do-gooders! She'd tilt her head a bit at the nod, breeze catching her updone blonde hair as she can almost hear a tingling tune that signals this achievement. Oh dear, they were all so tall and erh... Intimidating looking. "Ah-Hrm?" She'll make a noise, clasping her hands in her lap as she looks to Orion, only to bite her lip and tilt her nose back down. "Maybe uh, talking would be preferential?" She'll mumble in a barely audible voice, she wasn't here to break anything up! She was here because of morbid curiousity, and maybe a body or two, but she figured this certainly wasn't good company to say something like that in. And then she'll stare in a sense of abject shock at Lorien's smile. Eep!

You paged Silvana with 'You just barely notice a goblin peeking out of the cave and he spots you before running back inside.'

Silvana makes a face as she hmms softly and steps closer to Orion and says softly towards him though so others that are close can also hear "They know we are here, goblin was peeking out and just ran back inside"

Cressida walks over to Celestine, giving a warm smile. "Relax. We're the good guys. We won't bite. Promise. If you have another idea, go ahead and speak up. We'll listen." She's certainly less menacing in appearance than the sith-makar. And almost completely lacking scales, too! She looks to Silvana at that statement. "Goblin? Interesting."

Stjepan nods. "Alright, then." He loosens his sword in his scabbard. "Well? I'm not exactly sure we look like spectators."

Orion says to Autumn, "Outside of one, I have worked with each of you before. However I have no problems stating what I can do. I am a Paladin of Daeus, I am best used in the front lines when it comes to battle. It does not look like we have a cleric amongst us, I can heal some as well just not as good nor as often as a cleric could." He then hears what Silvana has to say, "Thanks for the info Silvana." He now looks to Lorien, "Do you still suggest recon? With them expecting us now, it would put the person doing the recon in great danger."

Stjepan looks up. "Right. I'm Stjepan, I solve problems, usually with a sword. My damned flail can't hit anything."

Cressida grins at Stjepan. "When it does, it's quite a sight, though. I'm Cressida. I have natural arcane talents. Mostly fire, so I'm prone to burning my way to a solution."

Lorien gives Celestine a look of curiosity, "I guess I'm a good guy also, albeit I like the adventure," he says, and then shakes his head a bit, nodding towards Orion, "Recon's useful, the problem with it of course is what you said, if anything we can at least try and sneak together and catch a few off-guard, but they might make those they've forced to fight turn on us," he adds. He answers, to the naming, "Hmmm? Lorien Valiant," he offers.

Silvana rocks back and forth on her heals as people speak, she does keep her eyes on the cave kind of making sure no surprises come at them "Well, sneaking in now though possible also probably not exactly so surprising since they saw us and i'm sure they are just waiting for us to try to get in" she shrugs "I'm Silvana"

Autumn swallows and follows along with everyone else, looking a little skittish as she scratches over her heart. She quietly follows Orion's lead.

Celestine will leeeean back ever so gently, hands still in her lap as she locks colder green eyes on those firey gold ones. "Well." She'll start, trying to disguise her highborn accent as she sucks on the inside of her cheek. Her younger self would have loved this! But, now all she can do is keep herself under control, as she knew there was very little love for her people. "Wouldn't the fear here be that this is a trap set to /lure/ an upstanding group like yourse- Er... /us/ into being the competitors in their fight to the death?" She asks, awkwardly prodding one finger against another. "Oh. Uhm, Celestine. I'm... Me?" She'll mumble. Avoiding anything of substance.

Stjepan just looks at Celestine. "You know, if the shit goes down, we'll find out anyways." He shrugs. "Maybe. One way to find out."

Orion takes in a breath then says "It is going to take that goblin time to get to his leader, it is going the leader time to free those he has captured, then it is going to take time to arm them. The more time we spend here chit chatting the better prepared they are going to be against us." He now nods to Celestine, "Good point, though I still have no idea what you can do and are trained in. As for traps we will need to keep an eye out for them, and with Silvana we have a decent chance of getting out of them." He now looks to every one, "Now unless there is anything else important someone has to add, lets get a move on."

Silvana looks at Orion, hey she purposely didn't say what she can do for a reason. She turns to follow still keeping and eye on the area

Lorien doesn't comment and moves on a little, as it seems that his own input is regarded little, and he relaxes, "Whatever."

Cressida nods, giving Celestine another smile. "Don't worry, we've managed in that sort of situation before. We do need to get the people out, if they are being held, though. Before people end up dead." She looks to the others. "If anyone's good at scouting ahead, though, that'll be useful."

Autumn just follows along, clutching her crossbow and with her hood up.

Celestine bites the inside of her cheek, only to nod to the others, head dipping down a bit as Cressida pulled away. "Right." She'll add, well, now she's an adventurer! Ha! Take that mom! Wait... She's an adventurer... Cripes. "Erh, I'm really nothing special, just... A little bit of experience with spell casting." She mumbles in Orion's direction, cheeks flushing a small bit of red before she takes a step to the left and tries to hide herself behind Autumn.

Lorien makes his way on with the group and takes his Ray from the belt, as he nods a bit, "This will be quite an interesting venture," he says, as he looks towards Celestine, and lifts up a brow, shaking his head a bit, and then just makes his way into the cave.

Orion and Lorien might not be drinking buddies but Lorien was the first person Orion went to when it came to a plan, and if it was not for the goblin showing up they would be doing as Lorien suggested. Orion gives Silvana a small smile, she has worked with just about half the group before they already know what she can do. Orion does not let Silvana go far with out him.

Silvana seems to wait to see if anyone is going to do this scouting and when no one seems to step up she sighs and moves ahead moving to hide and sneak on in rather catiously.

Lorien calls back, "I'll scout."

Orion says, "Why not just go up and join her and scout with her?"

Cressida grins to Celestine. "Ah, you do magic as well? Excellent. When the time comes, we can rain down magical chaos upon our foes." She points to Lorien. "He's an excellent shot with that magic gun of his." She points to Autumn. "And Autumn is a talented mage herself. We'll be fine."

Orion wants someone with Silvana, sadly with his massive frame and platemail armor, he makes for a lousy scout himself.

Lorien nods a bit, as he waits at the entrance, and decides to follow behind Silvana when she scouts. Enough so that he won't compromise her, but he has a different view on what may be found about. He is not the best scout, but he can manage likely to cover her rear if anything comes up.

Two more flaming bottles come flying out of the cave, one exploding on top of the sneaking group but the other coming up short and setting the grass near by on fire.

Orion hears sounds of combat, "I did want us together, but at least Silvana is not by herself." He now charges forward to lead the attack against the goblins, luckily for him he is able to stop his charge when a big pit opens up in front of him.

The goblins laugh as they look at Orion who has a big pit between him and them. She smirk then two of the goblins throw bottels at him and they explode, showering with him fire and acid before turning to run deeper into the cave.

Cressida starts to walk forward, not wanting Orion to get too far ahead. She iincantes softly as she walks forward, then points towards one of those goblins. Three magic missles fly from her hand, all three hitting the goblin, but only glancingly.

Lorien pauses for a moment, as he is actually splashed by the flame and yelps, as another strike comes, and he coughs a bit. Eventually, as the traps are sprung, and fight happens, he then looks around, as he holds his hand up towards the group behind him, "Wait," he says. Then he turns towards the goblins, approaching as he moves a little further into the cave to reach them hopefully, and speaks with their native Goblin-Talk, "Hold, we are here for the games, we were called towards this place, we'd like to participate, if you'd have us," he intones.

Autumn moves to take cover from future attacks and holds her action.

Celestine postures, an incredibly awkward and much more 'startled' pose than the combat postures her newfound companions have taken up. First, more than a little shocked to start throwing her first legitimate spells, which totally allows her the forethought to not shoot anything at the goblins as someone is trying to speak to them!

The two goblins left throw potions at Orion by they miss and the bottles fall into the pit and explodes it a burst of acid and cold. They then start to turn and run away. "No way, you guys don't look like your here for that at all!"

Silvana keeps taking pot shots at the goblins but keeps missing them

Orion seems confused by Lorien action, no one with in this group is badly hurt. Orion is barely able to avoid potions of acid and fire thrown his way. He notices a ledge that can bring him to the goblins, while going across it he is almost hit by a giant axe. He finally makes his way to one of the goblins but misses badly with his greatsword attack.

The two goblins run a little further into the cave and disappear behind some rocks.

Cressida continues approaching the pit, again incanting as she walks and letting three more magic missles fly. The strike the goblin by Orion, but it's not enough to drop him.

       Lorien growls as they rush away, and he moves up behind Orion, skirting the trail that he arrived through, and then ducks a bit at Cressida's missiles, which are flung. As he steps up nearby he then slams forward his mechanical ray firearm, which he takes his hands both about at the trigger. A clear blast of crimson mana escapes the chamber charged with energy and with near pinpoint accuracy strikes the goblin clean in the head, searing it off the shoulders at maximum efficiency, before he takes his hand and twirls the device, propping it on his shoulder, "What say we follow the others?" he asks stoically, and nods that way for the benefit of Autumn, Silvana, and those still about.

Autumn chants something as she passes her hands over herself and follows after Orion...

One of the goblins dies a horrible death but the other turns and tries to stab Orion with a dagger covered in a slick green liquid but he misses. He then starts to back away.

An enlarge Orion now takes his greatsword and slams into then through the goblin, he looks to his new size and smiles, "You know a dragon could get used to this."

There is a loud rumbling as a large rock comes rolling down the cave, and even as most get out of the way it is really difficult to avoid the entire thing as it crashes by and falls into the pit as it leaves the cave.

       Lorien gets brushed by debris as the rock rolls by and rushes against his arm, and he groans a bit as it rips a few shreds of skin. The youth looks a bit tried, and then motions a bit, "Shouldn't risk much with your size," he says, then as he makes his way forward, he barely manages taking a foot back from the trap, but the shake of the cave makes him stagger a bit and he falls right into the hole with a yelp, as a crunch can be heard from the fall, and a squelch, as two spikes rip clean through his shielding and impale an arm, and another pierces through his side. He groans a bit, glad they aren't the worst kind. And then tries and stand a bit.

The goblins both pop out of a secret side tunnel and sneaks attack! One attacks from the side of Orion, and another is in a tunnel that goes into the pit and stabs Lorien.

Silvana realizes there are traps and starts to move forward to try and help disable them when the two little buggers come out to attack Orion and Lorien so she shoots at one them hoping to hit but misses. She makes a face and just gets closer for perhaps a melee attack next since shooting at them is not working out tonight.

Orion tries to slam his greatsword into the goblin that tried to ambush him but misses.

Autumn takes a shot at one of the ambushers, but misses..

Cressida moves up to the pit Lorien finds himself in and spots the goblin coming at him down there. She gestures towards that goblin as she incants, firing a searing ray that hits him solidly, burning him severely, though he remains mobile.

Lorien manages to actually stand as a weapon is driven into his gut. With a cry of pain, he backs up, the blood pooling a bit as it drips,and holds up his firearm weakly. He then flicks the trigger and the crimson slams against the goblin and sears through him, knocking it back. He then tries with approaching the place he entered by if it's viewable, still hurt.

Autumn readies her Crossbow of PewPewness! Ready... Aim... FIRE!

Autumn can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn, from the inside... leaning the crossbow against the wall.

The goblin stabs orion with his poison dagger, then slips back deeper into the tunnel.

With no goblins or other threats present Orion thinks it is best for the group to stay as a group. He reaches down to extend his hand to Lorien to help him out.

GAME: Lorien casts Cure Light Wounds. Caster Level: 4 DC: 15

Lorien looks towards Orion and then the hand, as he takes a package of gold liquid and pours it onto a few wounds as they seal up, and speaks, "Okay, I think I will be working on scouting ahead, there's a tunnel here!" he exclaims, then he pats the hand, and clambers through the space.

Stjepan trundles forwards, sword at a low guard. He watches down the main tunnel, as he listens. "Good luck down there."

Orion seems surprised by Lorien action, "They know we are here, we can't waste time." Orion now stands up and looks to the others, "Who ever wants to stay with him can. I am going to the main cave." Orion now starts to walk off.

Cressida looks around, keeping an eye out for any more goblins sneakign up on them, then starts to follow Orion, ready to strike against... whatever might be up ahead.

The main path in the cave goes on for a little ways, though it isn't long before Lorien opens a hidden entrace that rejoins the main cave. Further down the cave you can see light up ahead, where the cave opens into a larger room.

Stjepan hustles after Orion, sword still at the ready. He's wary, for sure, but keeps in close formation.

Silvana follows after the others since they all seem to be going that way and no need to stay behind.

Lorien slips out of a secret entrance and then does a dramatic roll along the ground as he brings up his weapon and sweeps it about, "Oh, so that's where it leads!" he exclaims, flashing a smile for his friends, grinning a bit, then he begins a slow trek with the group.

orion shakes his head but does smile, Lorien dramatic roll was entertaining to watch, "Glad to have you back with us." He looks over the group as he walks on, Orion want to see if anyone is need of healing, other then some small nicks and bruises the group appears to be in fine health.

Cressida smiles to Lorien. "Good to have you with us again. If the tunnels come around this way, then that means this is definitely the way to go to find out what they're trying to do. Other than lure people here to die, maybe."

Stjepan nods once, curtly. "Well, let's keep going."

Silvana looks around seeming to be looking for traps

As you get further into the cave you can hear cheering and you come to the entrance into the room, and the room is a lot larger than you might first expect. There is a large crowd of people up on platforms all around you, mostly nonhuman races. While you are in a large pit and standing near the middle is three goblins who look to the group. "So you think you can channel us?"

GAME: Orion rolls diplomacy: (6)+9: 15

Orion looks to the crowd, "We did not come here wanting to fight, we came here to bring the fighting to an end and to free those that we thought were enslaved. There are reason why this type of event is a crime in our land, and by being here and supporting it you are all taking part in this crime. I am asking all of you to come back to your senses and support this no more."

They all boo at Orion. And one of the globins step forward and laughs lightly. "Trying to end the fights mean that you did come here for a fight!"

Lorien comes around with Cressida and the others, and tries to look imposing, but as he does not actually speak it is less likely it is effective. Whatever, he looks to Orion, "This isn't quite the time for diplomacy, now it is a show of force."

Cressida gives the goblins a grin. "And we are good at shows of foce. I say we kick their asses and show this crowd who they should be rooting for. Us."

Silvana looks around as if thinking something is not right and looking to see if she can spot anything

They don't seem very impressed by te group, "You are not going to run away crying are you? It would be kind of sad if all these people came to see a fight and you end up dying in 3 seconds."

Cressida crosses her arms. "They are going to be just as disappointed when we destroy you guys in three seconds. But, who knows. Maybe they'll becomes fans of the human teams after that."

Lorien nods at Cressida, and regards the other, "If we win, we want anyone that can be freed released," he says, as he adds, "Deal? If we're beat well, we'll be pretty much beat."

A few goblins jump down from the platforms to join the three that were already down in the pit with you. They smile as they all start to move towards you as they draw their weapons.

Cressida grabs the rob hanging from her belt as she incants, letting it enhance her magic as a ball of fire forms in the air and slams into the nearby goblin, knocking him to the ground, burnt. "Look at that. We haven't even started, and they're already getting reinforcements. That does not show confidence in your abilities."

Some of the goblins stay back and fire off arrows at the group but the fighter charges towards Lorien and the larger barbarian lets out a warcry and charges straight towards Orion!

Orion points his sword at the Goblin that just tried to attack him and says "You!" He then swings and misses pretty badly, which probably has some of the crowd mocking Orion.

Lorien flashes Cressida a grin at what she said earlier, only as he has two come at him with clean strikes that make him grunt a bit. As he does he flicks a dial on his armor and backs up, lifting his ray a bit as he shoots a ball of crimson mana clean into the fighter.

Silvana brings her crossbow up and before the fighter comes on crashing onto Lorien she shoots at him hitting him doing some damge to the goblin

One of the goblins carefully moves around to Silvana side, distracting her slightly as the rogue comes charging in from the other sides and sneaks attack her in the back!

The barbarain cries out and tries to crush Orion but misses big time!

Orion barely hits, but when he does it hurts a lot because his attack is added by the aid of his god and Autumn's enlarge spell.

Silvana moves to hit the Barberiana nd help Orion out only to be flanked herself and winces when she gets stabbed.

The ball of fire continues rolling around the arena at Cressida's command, slamming into the last of the 'reinforcements' and leaving him prone and torched. Cressida keeps her position behind the giant Orion and lets loose a trio of magic missiles, all of which strike that goblin rogue, leavin ghim wounded but still alive.

With his flanker dead the rogue pauses for a moment and waits for the barbarain to shift and flank Orion before trying to sneak attack him at the same time but both miss.

Orion once again barely hits but as before when he does he does a lot of damage, this attack from Orion brings down the goblin barbarain.

Silvana swong and hit the barberian then tried to hit the sneaky rogue beside her and missed

The crowd all starts to rush out the back doors when the goblins looks like they might lose, and when the last falls most of them are already out Lorien holds up his ray and shoots crimson killing the final one in a one-on-one match. Then he shoots the reinforcement to be sure or something, beating that, whatever, it makes sense, with context.

When it appears the battle is over Orion looks to the others, "After I heal us, lets look to see if there are any prisoners here."

In the back, in another room is several cages. A lion and a tiger, and half a dozen humans with at least two children with them in. There is also keys near by.

Cressida looks over the cages with some disbelief. "Were they going to just set a lion and a tiger on them? Good that we got here when we did."

Silvana looks at the lion and the tiger and wonders where the bear is oh my. She moves closer to the lock

Lorien makes his way to grab a key and work on a few of the cages.

Orion nods to Cressida, "We do not have a ranger or druid with us, so just let the people out. I will stay with the animals till someone can bring a person who can propely handle them."

Cressida shakes her head. "Don't worry about it. We can just get everyone out, then I'll unlock them from a distance. I'm sure they can find their own way out."
