-=--=--=--=--=--=<* A07: Local Alexandria Market District *>-=--=--=--=--=--=-

Just west of the Northern Highbridge and east of the arena, commerce blooms. Noisy and bustling, most anything may be purchased here for a price. Vendors from all cultures sell their wares from exotically colored carts, and the smells of different nations and far-off city-states mix with local ones from Alexandria and its riverbanks.

For all its commerce, visitors are advised to keep hold of their purses. Even the merchants possess a certain, cunning look. Most are positioned at carts or stalls as opposed to a formal storefront, with trade here being mobile, and visiting from all parts of the world.

Though the quality of goods suffers here compared to Upper Alexandria, the options are more diverse. Too, the oversight of the Watch is slightly less, and during times events are held at the Arena, chaos abounds. After dark, the square becomes a hangout for bards and other entrepreneurs whose business is best conducted by night; the shadows at the edges of the square often contain furtive figures engaging in their own brand of business.

Klythos grunts "No want." He pulls out another part, this one apparently in better condition, he pulls out a small metal brush and starts to scrub at it.

  • CLANKTHUMP* ... *CLANKTHUMP* Is the sound that precedes Bor as he comes lumbering through the market. His head held hi, and his eyes scanning the crowd as if he's looking for someone or something. He grunts once, apparrantly not seeing who he's looking for, but keeps moving carefully throught Market.

Aurala turns at the sound and stares. It is not often that she sees someone that towers over the crowd as much as she does. She nods to Klythos, "Yes, but to just toss it..." she shakes her head, she is a bit distracted.

Klythos continues to scrub on the part, trying to get rust off it. He starts to clear his throat, but instead hocks a lougie on the part, then starts scrubbing again....ewwww.

Slowing his pace considerably, Bor tries hard not to run over anyone or any stall, but his girth makes it a test in patience. His eyes catch Aurala, and he is momentarily taken aback by seeing the Giantkin Lady. He will give a slight nod of his head, and a smile in greeting.

Mikilos humms idly to himself as he exits the Fernwood, a roll of golden paper in hand. Steeping far enough away to avoid blocking the door for anyone, the unusually tall elf (by elven standards, at least) murmurs quietly a few moments, then reaches out a hand to pull to edges of reality aside for a moment, letting a large bird slip through. A hawk, to be specific. One with electric blue highlights to it's feathers, and eyes that glow with golden light.

Klythos seems to be ignoring the pair of giants near him, which could be unwise considering his size. He lays the part he was cleaning down on the leather strip that holds his tools. He picks up the remains of the object, turning it as he looks it over, perhaps looking for another useful part.

Aurala turns and waves to a familiar face in Mikilos and then smiles back to the other Giantkin, "Hello." she says and then turns and looks down at Klythos again and smiles before she looks back to Bor, "I am Aurala." she says, her greatsword is sticking up over her shoulder and her breastplate is a bit on the shiny side.

The sight of the hawk appearing out of nowhere will draw Bor's attention for a moment, and he glances over at the dawn elf with curiosity... (c'mon! It's not every day you see an electric hawk!!) As he passes by the Goblin and Giantess, Bor will ask in a deep rumbling voice "'Scuse me. Have ya seen a Paladin of Daeus that's a Sith'Makar?"

Mikilos hands his Summon the golden scroll, the Celestial Hawk gripping the parchment in its claws, before taking off into the sky. Circeling a moment, the arcane creature flies off towards the Temples. Turning his attention back to more mundane things, Mikilos blinks at Bor. "Ah, several, actually. But none recently. Which one in particular are you seeking?"

Klythos looks up for a moment, watching the bird fly off with the scroll, he frowns and murmers, "Air mail..." He then pulls out a small notebook, apparently writing the idea down.

Aurala cocks her head at Klythos, "Are you making something or just cleaning it up?" she asks, and then she looks over at Bor and Mikilos, and shakes her head, "I haven't seen the one that I know of recently either." she says softly.

Bor will pause for a moment, realize that he just trudged up to the two, and add "Well Met. I'm Bor, Paladin to Daeus. It's a honor to meet you." He appears slightly flustered in his attempts to not break anything, but is doing the best he can. He will look over to Mikilos, and reply "Paladin Svarshan. I've tried the Temple, but he hasn't been seen lately."

Mikilos frowns thoughtfully. "I've not seen BrightBlade Svar for a while myself. If not the Temple, then typically he'd be over at the orphanage, or more likely off hunting owlbears in the Fel. But neither of those would keep him away for long. That said, my guess would be busniess near Dragonier, or the Rune border... but if offical busniess, Temple would have known of it..."

Klythos looks over a part as he removes it from the larger object. "Clean, need parts." He lays this gear down on the leather, and then grabs another tool, working to remove a spring from the device.

Aurala nods her head and she doesn't understand too much. She smiles a little and then nods, "A pleasure to meet you." she nods.

Nodding to Mikilos, Bor will reach up to pull at his braided beard as he considers what he's been told, "Hrm..." he'll grunt in response at first, "...I haven't checked the orphanage." A slight smile will find it's way on his face, "Huntin' Owlbears. Little bit more like what I'm used to..."

Mikilos nods, and frowns thoughtfully. "Sometimes I wonder just how the local population manages to not be wiped out by now... he seems to harvest quite a few. Though I suppose the FelWood is a rather large place."

Aurala nods her head a bit, "Well maybe he only takes the smaller ones, that way the others breed still." she shrugs a bit and then chuckles.

Klythos starts to remove the spring, but it snaps off the base, shooting up and into the back of the female giants hair. Klythos lowers his head, working on another part, perhaps no one will notice, giants rarely see small things.

"Ssaa, saaa. Girl." A slow-moving sith-makar makes his way through the market. He addresses the large raptor behind him, whose eyes roll from side to side at the sight of so many yelling, colorful merchants. The two of them are decked in darkened armor, reminiscent of the deep jungle-wood of Am'shere and marked with Daeus' brands.

Turning towards Aurala, Bor will say, "It's been awhile since I saw 'nother Giantborn. Makes me happy to see familiar faces..." glancing back to Mikilos, he adds "...some come close." His attention turned back to Aurala he asks, "What do you think of the crowd? I find that most days it's like walkin' on egg shells..."

Aurala nods, "There are a few in the city, it has been a while since I have seen one as large as myself." she says, not commenting that he is actually taller than she is. "It gets really crowded."

Mikilos blinks twice, and straightens up. "Oh, do excuse me. Was so distracted I neglected introductions. "Mikilos Mithralla, Builder Arcane." He blinks again, and glances down the street, past the giants. "And I think that's Svar comming now." Those pointed ears aren't just for decoration, you know.

Beautiful girl." The sith hisses as he laughs, and swats at the large, devoted head. The raptor jerks away but lifts her muzzle. A silent: I AM MAGNIFICIENT. Her steps turn surer, less antsy in the crowd of people. I AM BEAUTIFUL, AND FIERCE! Her sudden change in stature says it all.

The sith cuffs her again in a loving way and begins the slow weave through Alexandria's crowds a second time. The crowds are thick, colorful and everything that is Alexandria. A man from Veyshan sells jade baubles in the shape of dijinn, another from Dran flexes as she lifts aloft a great maul, 'blessed by ice and the winter northwards.'

It's when one of those merchants steps aside that the sith's gaze narrows. "Bor?" he asks, the word slow and pronounced with difficulty. He squints at the figure--and then a gobber juggler leaps in front. "Fire! Flame! Come see Grrrruuuuzzzooo the Fire-eater this Gilday at Ma Rosie's!"

"Well Met, Mikilos Mithralla." Bor replies in greeting. He will smile again at the mention of a few more Giantkin, but he's quickly distracted by Mikilos words and then his own name. He turns in the direction of the Sith'makar, pauses, and then draws a scroll with the seal of Daeus on it. A quick glance over his shoulder, "'Scuse me..." and he heads towards Svar.

Presenting the scroll to Svarshan, Bor rumbles "Brightscales Svarshan. I'm here to give this to you..." Bor tries to sound formal, "...It's an Honor to meet you."

Klythos starts to gather his tools, rolling them up in the leather, then grabs whats left of the device he was taking apart. The goblin fades into the crowds, vanishing from sight quickly.

Aurala turns and just watches for a moment.

Mikilos leaves the paladins to do whatever it is they're doing, but does step closer to give Princess Srassha a scratch. Typically putting your hand near a raptor is a very very bad idea. But in Alexandros, many thing are an exception to otherwise accepted rules.

"Magnificent! Tamed gunpowder put to interpretive dance! Song! Boom! A marvel to behold...!" The gobber jangles off, but not before shooting the fading Klythos a narrow-eyed look that all but says she's checking out potential competiton. SQUINT!

As soon as the fire-eater leaves, the sith looks flustered. He stands there a moment, eyes focused on nowhere. It takes a moment to fixate on Bor. When he does, he draws in a sharp breath, "Sa. It iss...you. You were...Sandy's." Here he pauses and falls silent. Turns over words as he accepts the scroll. His mind isn't really on the scroll yet--it's trying to... "...I do not think. Sshe had many friends. But you were one of. ...them. ...what is..." and then he realizes whose the seal is, and runs a claw along the wax seal.

For her own part, Srassha nearly purrs under the attention. I AM THE MOST FIERCE PRINCESS.

Stepping carefully as not to squish any fire juggling goblins standing next to gunpowder wielding goblins (very very bad idea, not like Chocolate and Peanut Butter) Bor awkwardly shuffles around Svarshan as he hands him the scroll. It's pretty obvious to all that the large Giantkin is confused as his eyebrows arch, "Uhm... Sandy?" Eloquent as always, Bor thinks for a moment, "There've been... problems... Did I know you?" the tone curious and hopeful at the same time.

Aurala cocks her head to the side as she looks over at the other giantborn for a moment

The claw snicks the wax, and the seal falls open. "You..." Svarshan starts to say. He lets it go then, and looks up at Bor. Really, truly /looks/ at him, the face, the eyes. The confused expression. The armor.

The hand with the scroll lowers it to his side.

"...I think. I know what thisss will say. There iss...no need to. Read it. In-Crowds. Bor, I--" he stops then, and looks around. The people, the crowds. The... and looks back to Bor. "--All thingss are found in Daeuss. We will. ...make thisss. Right." He looks towards Aurala a moment, but remains focused on Bor.

All the while, there among crowds and mechants, Srassha is oblivious. She gives her broad head a shake near Mikilos' fingers, unsubtly displaying her decorated bosal and headgear. It is turned equally unsubdly towards the sun so that it will glitter and shine. MY FINERY IS THE PRETTINESS OF MOST PRETTY SHINY THINGS.

Oblivious.

She sidles a touch closer to the llyranesi.

Mikilos cocks his head as well, eyeing the giant thoughfully... but not so much as to neglect the Pretty Pretty Princess. Neglect might result in a Pouty Pouty Princess, and nobody wants that.

Slowly nodding his head, his confusion and discomfort ebbing away slightly, Bor says "Aye. We can talk at the Temple..." He reaches under his breast plate to pull two necklaces out, one bearing a symbol for Daeus and the other Angoron. He holds up the Daeus symbol, "He chose me... helped me.. sent someone to help." He growls, slightly frustrated, and after a moment adds "...The Temple sent me to learn from you. Said you might help with some.." thinking of the right word, "...familiar faces."

Bor does glance back to Mikilos and Aurala, but doesn't seem too concerned speaking in front of them, but seems to be trying to assess their reactions.

Aurala stretches a little. Not too much phases her these days after all the things she has seen, and its hard to phase the barbarian to start with. She smiles and smiles towards Srassha too, "Hello" she says to that one and then looks at Mikilos, "How are things? Keeping busy?"

Svarshan glances at the scroll, then rolls it tightly. Swiftly. "...saa," he says. He's quiet after that, the eyes unfocused. ...and then refocused on the giantborn in front of him. "We will. ...Talk."

When Bor removes the amulets, he reaches over, and hesitates. He looks at the half-giant, asking permission to see the Dragon's.

Near Mikilos and Aurala, Srassha continues to...swifts don't purr, but this one comes close.

Mikilos is curious about Bor, but he's curious about most things. Blinking, he nods to Aurala. "Fairly so. The shop eats up a lot of my time, which I expected. Though not quite as many passing though as I thought there would be. Been thinking of adding on another room, store some of my stuff out there."

Bending down so as to allow Svarshan to handle the symbol, Bor tucks the Angoron symbol away (a quick look can tell that it is older, and well worn compared to the Daeus symbol). As Svarshan conducts his inspection, Bor will take a moment to look over at Srassha, and for a second he thinks he remembers something... a look flashing across his face... but it disappears as quickly as it was there.

Svarshan runs a clawtip over the Dragon's outstretched wings. He's silent, contemplative...and doesn't say anything for a while after. Just lets the amulet go, dropping back into the giant's palm.

A harsh intake of breath. "We will...talk. We will meet at the Temple. Tonight. ...and pray." He's quiet for a second time. "...and then. I will introduce you to an. Old. Friend." He pauses here and then looks over the giant with a wry half-smile. "You sshould wear your. Armor. For the. Event."

As they talk, Srassha leans into the llyranesi's long fingers. Her look is bliss...though when she spots Aurala, she turns, turning the Saddest Eyes Ever on the giant-blood. DO YOU SEE. DO YOU SEE HOW I AM TREATED. WHAT THE WORLD HAS COME TO.

THERE IS ONLY ONE SILDANYARI TO PAY ME HOMAGE.

...the eyes. Tremble. Great, big eyes, just like the saddest, most neglected puppy's. A puppy who has never, ever been fed in its entire life. It is truly sad and horrible. A tragedy nearly eleven feet in height. I AM VERY NEGLECTED, that says.

Aurala nods and smiles, "Well take care." she says and then turns and slips away.

Mikilos waves to Aurala, and continues to attend to the Neglected One, pondering idly to himself. "...maybe an enchanted harness... something with the Servant spell imbeded to brush and polish on a semi-regular basis..."

Placing the symbol back under the protection of his armor, Bor stands up, and nods in agreement. "I'd like that." At the comment about the armor, he cocks his head slightly, are grins in reply "I like the sound of that..." Bor turns back to the other two, who are here with them, "...You brought me good luck..." and smiles at Aurala, "..and thoughts of home. Both're rare, and..." again he struggles for the diplomatic words "should be 'ppreciated...I'll pray for Daeus to watch over you."

Srassha nods with heady enthusiasm to the llyranesi's words. Her eyes sparkle, and she stands a little straighter, a little taller. IT MUST SPARKLE SO.

Her paladin watches for a moment, then looks back to Bor. "Sa...there iss. Another reasson they paired the. Two of. Us." He pauses. "We have much to talk about. Bor of. The Dragon'ss Claws." The sith looks up at him for a moment, and then thumps his tail against the earth. "Fire and. Flame. Until thiss evening."

Mikilos frowns thoughtfully, and murmurs a moment, sending a brief magical polish along the Princesses harness before stepping back to leave the BrightBlade to his travels. "...will have to work on that spell idea some more..."

Bor nods in agreement with Svarshan as he wonders off, "Live Free." Bor turns to Mikilos, offering his hand in friendship, "It's been an Honor. Hope to see you 'round again, Mikilos"

Mikilos nods. "I'm sure we shall, sometime. If ever you're in need of magical items, I'm something of a specialist. In any case, fare well, Paladin Bor."
