<OOC> Raniq says, "Present."
<OOC> Iadoth yayyyy.
<OOC> Aya is present.
<OOC> Myaris says, "Here"
GAME: Myaris refreshes spells.
<OOC> Iadoth yayyyyy.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Aya, are ya here?"
<OOC> Aya is still present.
<OOC> Iadoth oh, sorry Aya.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Didn't see your first message."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Just waiting for ONE MORE."
<OOC> Raniq says, "A cleric? *wink*"
<OOC> Iadoth uhh, dunno.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I am in conversation with the main, they are sending one of three alts."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "They are just grabbing a ciggy."
<OOC> Iadoth starts regardless.

Eilrie has connected.

You have been commissioned by a high-up in the Rune army, keen to get all the members of the Adventurer's Guild as onboard as she can manage. She sits there, smoking a cigar, and wearing military fatigues, and with a slight drawl to her otherwise impeccable Rune accent, she says: "You are here because you are willing. And, you are here because you are deniable." She doesn't add the bit about being expendable.

Spread out on a table in front of her is a map of the Rune-Dran front. A long way back from this, thick in Dran territory, is an 'X' marked in red. She jabs it with a thick, yellowing finger. "This is Rest and Be Thankful Farm. It was ours, and now it's theirs. We need their occupation there... ended."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay predictably Baby has woken up. Might be 20 minutes."

Myaris cocks her head to the side as she listens and looks over the map. She nods her head, "Do we know what is there currently?"

Aya is willing, and both willing and able to deny. "Their immediate presence could be ended. Their occupation of the entire region could take an army to remove." Her next question was just asked, and by one of those she least expected to ask it. This leaves her a bit surprised.

Eilrie stands to the side with her companion, a large... tree?! She leans back against the tree, watching everyone and listening.

Raniq just listens, too.

<OOC> Iadoth returns.

The general shakes her head, and takes a long draw of the cigar. "No," she says slowly. "But we know they're taking slaves to that farm, and working 'em to the bone. Or worse." She shudders. "It's an abomination. Destroy whatever is running the place, and you'll be rewarded."

Raniq shakes his head, but says, "Destroy. Got it, general."

She goes on: "We can get you behind enemy lines, to within a few miles of the farm. You'll have to find the way for the last few, but if reports are correct..." She grimaces. "It won't be hard to find the nerve centre. But please, free our citizens, and destroy the Dranei."

She stamps a foot, and salutes. "Any further questions, agents?"

Myaris nods her head, "Well lets go." she doesn't like the fact about the slaves and is ready to do something about it."

Aya dips her chin. "They will be destroyed, and your citizens free, before anyone knows we're there," she offers with no lack of certainty.

<OOC> Raniq is now able to focus 95 percenr on the game.

An airship is chartered to deliver you to, as promised, within a few miles of the farm. It's a relatively quiet part of the militarized territory, and it's not hard to stick to the hills and stay away from the roads, which are sure to be rife with sentinels. As the airship leaves, it's midday, grey and drizzly.

Myaris shakes her head and hates when it rains but at least it isn't too bad at the moment, "So which way was the farm again?" she asks watching the airship go.

<OOC> Raniq says, "My familiar's statistics are at <http://www.tenebraemush.net/index.php/Herman>."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ohhhh.... Yes, Myaris was right, the airship has dumped you there."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Okay, can omit previous pose, then."

Eilrie wanders the ship with Galahd curiously, having never been up in one before. She looks disappointed when the trip ends.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "What's your plan?"

Raniq looks around the landing site, trying to see what opportunities for cover may be available in the direction we're headed.

The rolling hills of the area should keep you covered for the moment. When you come out into more open territory, it could be difficult to hide oneself.

Raniq points toward the hills. "I think if we head that way, we have a chance of cover as we approach the place." <sildanyari>

Raniq extracts a small bronze compass from his shoulder bag.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Anyone?"
<OOC> Raniq is waiting.
<OOC> Iadoth nods, and glances at the clock.
<OOC> Aya was kidnapped by work.
<OOC> Iadoth sends out a search party.

Myaris nods her head, "Well then lets get going, we can see what is there when we start to lose cover." she is getting a bit impatient.

The valleys and rolling hills rise and fall through the landscape as you follow Raniq's compass --- and perhaps the instincts of other party members --- through the occupied territory. As you peek out over the brow of the hill, the landscape suddenly changes, revealing open fields beyond. They are growing crops.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Baby again."

Aya would prefer it earlier or later than midday, but at least the weather keeps the sun at bay. She follows Raniq's pointing and nods her agreement. "The closer we can get unnoticed, the better." Aya may share Myaris' impatience as she begins to move; briskly, but as quietly and inconspicuously as she can manage.

Eilrie is following along and just keeping her eyes peeled. She doesn't feel comfortable in the leadership role and only steps forward when she has to.

Raniq, not only the only human among Sildanyari, but also the only male among females, does feel a bit... different..., but has a job to do -- release the slaves, and vanquish their captors. He says, "It seems that for them to not notice our coming, they'd have to be not looking at us, or at least they would have to believe that we are just like everything else they see, and pay us no heed." <sildanyari>

In each of the fields in the landscape ahead, there are thick-set humans, holding cruel weapons. The purpose is clear: keeping the labourers from running. Not that they'd be able to get far, in their semi-starved fate. They tend to the crops, ploughing, sowing, weeding, reaping. None are armed. These must be the Rune slaves, then.

Myaris cocks her head to the side, "So are we to take out all the guards too?" she asks as she looks at the others and then back, something rising in her.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "I am clumsily trying to imply that individually, these guards are quite weak. Their threat, as with Dran in general, is in their numbers. The major threat that these guards pose to the slaves is that the slaves are too weak to fight back."
<OOC> Raniq says, "How widely are they scattered, or how close together are they? Say, all within 30 ft. of each other?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "How big is a field? There is one per field. They would be within earshot and eyeline of one another."
<OOC> Raniq nods. So if one came under sudden attack, all others would be aware pretty quickly, then.
<OOC> Iadoth nods.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If the attack were noticed."

Eilrie asks "Is anyone good at disguise? Someone could pretend to be escaping slave and lure them into ambush of our choice."

Raniq says, "I'm not, I'm afraid. But I could strike one from as far as 130 feet away."

Eilrie adds after some thought "We need to get them all together, to make it easier to attack them."

Aya looks over the fields, the slaves, and their handlers. She thinks a moment before commenting, "There are too many to remove individually. One would be bound to notice the others mising eventually. We could divide and strike many at once..." Aya looks over her temporary associates, "If the rest of you think you are capable of defeating a Dranei warrior in single combat."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh, I have /no doubt/ at your ability to take out these guys."

Myaris chuckles, "Bigger they are harder they fall." but she isn't a very big girl so most are bigger than she is, except the smaller races.

Raniq says, "I am more effective when they're close to each other. If we present a target, by like, announcing ourselves somehow and challenging them, we lose surprise, but they might come together just to face us. Otherwise, I could burst a flare over one's head, and that might draw them together, but I have to be much closer for that." <sildanyari>

Myaris nods, "I can create fireworks that would draw attention." she shrugs a bit.

Aya looks from Raniq to Myaris, and back. "Then we draw them where we want them. Setting fire to the fields would easily get their attention."

Raniq smiles. "Fire is no problem." <sildanyari>

<OOC> Iadoth gurrs.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I got Raniq's message about fire."
<OOC> Raniq wanrs to close to about 100 ft range or so, before attacking.
<OOC> Iadoth will be wondering 'bout Stealth then.
GAME: Raniq rolls stealth: (5)+2: 7
<OOC> Raniq says, "Not so much."
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20-10: (6)+-10: -4
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I think you might be okay."
<OOC> Iadoth tries again with the laptop.
<OOC> Iadoth sees no lag.
<OOC> Aya complains that RL always seems to get busy when I am in a plot.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Can everyone repose their last?"

Eilrie says after some thought "Since we agree that getting them close together would be best, how should we do it? People are curious. If we give them something to focus on, they will all gather. We could set the house on fire or make them think some slave is trying to escape or having a problem they need to gather to handle."

Raniq says, "I'd rather set that guard on fire. They'll see him, and it gets one bogey out of the way." He points at the nearest guard. <sildanyari>.

<OOC> Iadoth thumbs up.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "The rolls are fine."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'll just try the perception for Aya's stealth."

Aya arches a brow at Raniq, which also seems to pull the same corner of her lip upward into a smirk. "I like how you think."

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20-10: (8)+-10: -2
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, I think you two are okay to get within 100 ft."
<OOC> Raniq says, "They're getting better."
<OOC> Iadoth keeps forgetting to add another modifier, so actually they're getting worse.

Raniq does a miserable, yet sufficient job of sneaking to about 100 ft. from the closest guard.

<OOC> Raniq says, "So you don't need me to log, then. Right?"
GAME: Eilrie refreshes spells.
<OOC> Iadoth thinks we're okay for now.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thank you. I thought I was going to have to switch to phone mode."
<OOC> Raniq says, "NP."
GAME: Raniq casts Mage Armor. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15
GAME: Eilrie casts Longstrider. Caster Level: 4 DC: 15
GAME: Eilrie used a Rod of Lesser Extend.

Indeed, the guards must be too far through the mizzle to really notice you. Instead, they keep a steely eye on their wards, who toil away through the rain.

GAME: Eilrie casts Ant Haul. Caster Level: 4 DC: 15
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Both on Galadh."
<OOC> Iadoth nods!

Myaris moves forward with the others and casts an armor spell on herself, to make sure just in case.

<OOC> Myaris says, "mage armor on myself of course"
<OOC> Iadoth oka.y.
GAME: Myaris casts Mage Armor. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15

In preparation for combat, Raniq quietly casts a spell upon himself, whereupon a force field comes into being around him.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "What's next?"
<OOC> Raniq says, "+init?"
<OOC> Eilrie says, "We got anything resembling a plan?"

Aya follows Raniq, possibly too closely. Or perhaps she's so occupied scowling at his poor form that she nearly walks into the back of him while stepping on the same twigs and leaves that she JUST watched him foolishly walk on. Fortunately the guards are more intent on their slaves.

<OOC> Aya says, "Yes. I think it is 'Kill it with fire.'"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you want to set something on fire, then go ahead."
<OOC> Iadoth got no bones with that.

Raniq casts another spell, causing a 5 ft. diameter sphere of white flame to pop into existence where the nearest guard is standing.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d10+1: (1)+1: 2
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What's the damage, then?"
GAME: Raniq casts Flaming Sphere. Caster Level: 3 DC: 17
<OOC> Iadoth says, "IS IT MORE THAN 2."
<OOC> Iadoth cries.
<OOC> Raniq says, "2d6 +1, plus the sphere sets the grass on fire and remains for use in the next two rounds."
<OOC> Raniq says, "but I have to succeed on a to hit roll."
<OOC> Iadoth reads the spell desc.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It seems to be 3d6, and only with a Reflex."
GAME: Raniq rolls 1d20 +dexterity: (12)+2: 14
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+1: (2)+1: 3
<OOC> Raniq gets +1 on damage on all evocations.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, that's fine. So it's 3d6+1. Reflex negates."
<OOC> Iadoth's dies horribly in fire.
<OOC> Iadoth's guard dies horribly in fire too.

Raniq uses the move action in his round to approach 30 ft. closer to the next closest guard, being careful to keep the flaming sphere within 130 ft. at all times.

<OOC> Iadoth uhh, except, you can't, 'cause it only lasts 1 rnd/level.
<OOC> Raniq is 3rd level, so 3 rounds duration, No?
<OOC> Iadoth kinda assumed the sphere started next to the character. I don't mind about hand-waving a few feet here and there...
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Actually, it doesn't say that, does it."
<OOC> Raniq posed it coming into existence by the guard.
GAME: Iadoth rolls 6d6: (16): 16
GAME: Iadoth rolls 6d6: (18): 18
GAME: Iadoth rolls 6d6: (20): 20
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ignore that"
<OOC> Raniq other folks?

The guard yelps as the flaming sphere comes into contact with his skin, and is immediately immolated. The grass of the field, too, catches fire as the burning corpse falls to the ground. Soon there is chaos as the slaves run for their lives, and three of the other guards catch sight of you. They begin to close from three directions: Left, Middle and Right. They are 80, 90 and 100 feet away, respectively.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 18.
It is now RightGuard's turn! LeftGuard is next!

Seeing the approaching sildanyari, the guard on the right stops his running and draws a longbow from his back. Quickly he takes a snap shot.

One guard incinerated, a few more to go. Aya immediately moves, and briskly, towards the farthest of the Dranei, towards her right.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+3+1: (4)+3+1: 8

The arrow goes wild, and the guard visibly quakes at the continuing approach.

It is now LeftGuard's turn! Myaris is next!

The guard on the left approaches more cautiously, moving 30 ft. towards the party whilst drawing her smart-looking longbow. She draws the string and takes a careful shot at Raniq.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+3: (8)+3: 11

Again, the shot goes astray. It would have been closer, of course, but the eldritch armour... well.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "This was supposed to be different! You fiends!"

Eilrie spots the charging Centaur and concentrates, calling upon Nature to rise up and wrap itself around the charging equinoid. When she sees that the plants are answering her call, she urges Galadh forward as they move quickly towards the creature. They get eight feet closer...

<OOC> Eilrie says, "Double move."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Uh, eighty feet, I guess?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. You're 250 ft. from the centaur. Raniq, Myaris, you're 330 ft. from it. Aya, you're ... <does some trigonometry> I've no idea."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thanks everyone."
<OOC> Raniq says, "You too."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'll post a new +event once my wife lets me know her schedule."
<OOC> Eilrie says, "Can't I just kill him? :)"
GAME: Raniq refreshes special ability pools.
<OOC> Raniq says, "The same time of day or 3 hours earlier works great for me."
<OOC> Iadoth thinks it would be the same time of day.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Anyway, TTFN."

Part 2: May 25 2016

GAME: Raniq rolls initiative: 2 + 2 = 4
<OOC> Raniq chuckles. I guess I'll be reacting to everybody else's actions.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "I rolled low too."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "and Aya probably got nailed by RL."

180 ft dead ahead is a centaur. It carries an enormous greataxe on its back, and a smaller throwing axe in either hand. Looking around at the fire, and the decimation of its lieutenants guarding the slaves, it bellows and begins running towards you.

GAME: You roll initiative for Centaur: Roll: 20 + Bonus: 9 = Total: 29
GAME: Iadoth rolls 4d10+1d12+30+1: (22)+(11)+30+1: 64

Raniq runs as necessary to keep a healthy distance from the centaur of 90-100 ft. or so, if possible, and if there's any chance of cover, iving for it.

<OOC> Raniq says, "or Diving..."

You paged Aya with 'I assumed that was the done thing with monsters, as it would be with other RPGs.'

GAME: Aya rolls initiative: 11 + 3 = 14
<OOC> Aya apologizes and completley missed the timestop drop in channel spam.

You paged Aya with 'Is there some rule somewhere that covers this? It is my modus operandi.'

Ambar has arrived.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'd +init, then, Ambar."

Aya pages: HP are listed for everything. If not, it's the average, rounded down. So all animals (D8) get 4.5 HP per HD.

GAME: Ambar rolls initiative: 17 + 1 = 18

Long distance to Aya: Iadoth understands that, but Combat Manager asks if you want to roll HP instead.

You paged Aya with 'Others do too, e.g. Dingles Games.'

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 29.
It is now Centaur's turn! Ambar is next!

The centaur waits a moment and retrieves a flask from its pocket, and takes a moment to drink it. Its skin somehow seems /tougher/ after this. Yikes.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 18.
It is now Ambar's turn! Aya is next!
GAME: Note Flat-footed on Ambar ended.
<OOC> Ambar says, "Hrm..."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You're up, Ambar. 180 ft of distance separates you."
GAME: Ambar refreshes spells.
<OOC> Ambar says, "Everyone within 50 of me?"
<OOC> Iadoth figures they probably are.
<OOC> Ambar says, "Bless"
GAME: Aya refreshes special ability pools.
GAME: Note Bless added to Ambar.
GAME: Note Bless added to Amythyst.
GAME: Note Bless added to Aya.
GAME: Note Bless added to Raniq.

The cleric of Rada known as Ambar raises his trident and smiles, "Rada, may your blessings be upon us all, and may we find much loot and recieve good pay for this deed in your name."

<OOC> Iadoth nice.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Move action?"
<OOC> Ambar says, "I'll hold at 180, I need him closer."
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods.
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 14.
It is now Aya's turn! Amythyst is next!
GAME: Note Flat-footed on Aya ended.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You're up, Aya."
<OOC> Aya will move for the centaur, and active an SP.
GAME: Aya spends ONE point of KI POOL.
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods.
<OOC> Aya omitted 40'.
<OOC> Iadoth was about to ax.

The others fell quickly. Very quickly. Perhaps TOO quickly. This one looks like it might be much more akin to a challenge. Aya starts moving purposefully towards it, arms casually splayed at her sides. En route, she calls to the lingering, hiding shadows. They respond to the call and flock to her in wisps that gather opacity and substance until they darken her clothing and flesh ever further.

<OOC> Aya says, "Barkskin for +2 enhancement to Natural Armor."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okeydokey."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 9.
It is now Amythyst's turn! Raniq is next!
GAME: Note Flat-footed on Amythyst ended.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You're up, Amythysty."
<OOC> Amythyst will deal out the first bits of damage at this range. Magic missile.
GAME: Amythyst rolls 2d4+2: (7)+2: 9
<OOC> Iadoth ouch.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Pose it up!"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Range?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh right, yeah. You'd have to move a bit closer to manage that, Amythyst. It's still 180 ft. away."
<OOC> Raniq meant from him. *awkward grin*
<OOC> Iadoth gives the same answer.
<OOC> Raniq says, "Is the farmhouse within 60 ft of me?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Nope, the farmhouse (from where the centaur has come, by the way) is behind the centaur."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Amythyst, what do you want to do instead?"
<OOC> Amythyst has nothing to do then.
<OOC> Amythyst will stay hidden.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "test"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Can I cast a standard action spell and still move twice my standard speed? (Still too far away to provoke AoO, I'd assume.)"

Seeing the Centaur coming, Amythyst makes sure she remains hidden until the Centaur gets within range.

<OOC> Amythyst doesn't think so.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "a double move takes up two actions."
<OOC> Aya says, "No. The second move uses your standard to move."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Okay."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "and I'm getting called away for food."
<OOC> Amythyst will bbiab.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Aya can ghost me in the meantime."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "No, you can't."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 4.
It is now Raniq's turn! Centaur is next!
GAME: Note Flat-footed on Raniq ended.
<OOC> Raniq will cast Mage Armor and move 30 ft closer, then.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Gotcha."
GAME: Raniq casts Mage Armor. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Annnnd a pose?"

Raniq strides deliberately toward the rampaging monster, muttering a quick incantation. Invisible force then ripples around his body.

GAME: NEW ROUND!
      Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Two - Init 29.
It is now Centaur's turn! Ambar is next!

The Centaur is 140 ft. from Aya. With a mighty roar, the Centaur races forward towards the mul'niessa, strengthening its resolve as it does so.

GAME: Note Rage added to Centaur with a duration of 10 rounds.
<OOC> Raniq says, "Aya, don't forget the Bless in effect when it's your turn."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Two - Init 18.
It is now Ambar's turn! Aya is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ambarrrrr."
<OOC> Ambar says, "How far is it now?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "120 ft. from you and Amythyst, 90 ft. from Raniq, 80 ft. from Aya."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Thanks"
<OOC> Ambar says, "Spiritual weapon"
GAME: Ambar casts Bless. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15
GAME: Ambar casts Spiritual Weapon. Caster Level: 3 DC: 16
GAME: Ambar rolls bab+wisdom: (13)+2+4: 19
<OOC> Ambar says, "That hit?"
<OOC> Iadoth shakes head.
<OOC> Raniq says, "Did your BAB+Wisdom include any relevant Bless bonus?"
<OOC> Ambar says, "Ohh no, bless would be another +1"
<OOC> Ambar dohs!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That would /just/ hit."
<OOC> Ambar says, "Woo."
GAME: Ambar rolls 1d8+1: (1)+1: 2
<OOC> Ambar snorts
<OOC> Iadoth doh.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It's down to ... 72 hp."
<OOC> Raniq says, "It's better than nothing."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "A pose, if you please!"

Ambar raises his trident again, its sort of a combination weapon and holy symbol since there is a clear symbol on the spot where the shaft meets the prongs. A shimmering trident appears next to the Centaur, and tries to stab at it, barely scratching the creature.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Two - Init 14.
It is now Aya's turn! Amythyst is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Aya! You lovely shadowy thing, you're up!"
<OOC> Aya looks at the distance and hrms. "Ok. I will cast Darkness on myself and move another 40' closer to the centaur."
GAME: Aya spends ONE use of DARKNESS.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Arrr."

Aya smiles at the sight of the oncoming foe. A brief flash of white teeth amidst the muted gray and black. But even that flash is suddenly swallowed up as the clinging shadows deepen, thicken, and then spread outward from her to darken her and her surroundings. This nodule of shadow continues its approach for the centaur that rushes to met her.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Two - Init 9.
It is now Amythyst's turn! Raniq is next!
<OOC> Iadoth is scared. "Aya, you're ghosting Amy?"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Amy was just gonna keep firing off magic missiles."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, she's in range to do that now. I'll apply the previous damage to the Centaur, so it's now on 63."

Amythyst was with the group the whole time! Really she was! And seeing the Centaur charge in, Amythyst snaps her fingers and tosses a pair of blue orbs at the centaur, doing a good bit of damage to it.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Two - Init 4.
It is now Raniq's turn! Centaur is next!

Raniq evokes into being a 5 ft diameter ball of white flame right in the centaur's face, and continues to approach another 30 ft closer. He takes the ermine from his shoulders and cradles it on his left forearm, saying, "Okay, Herman. Are you ready to do the trick we practiced?"

<OOC> Raniq says, "Reflex save to avoid damage this round."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Raniq! Last time you ran, eek!"
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+9: (15)+9: 24
<OOC> Iadoth tilts head.
<OOC> Raniq is confused. The game tells me I don't have Flaming Sphere (or any other 2nd level spell) prepared as a bonus spell, but I was sure I did.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Did you refresh?"
<OOC> Aya says, "You might have forgotten to prepare it/"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Ugh. Yes, but had not prepared a bonus 2nd level before refreshing."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. If you're casting it, that's fine."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I dodged it regardless."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Anyway, the save DC would be what? 16? 17?"
<OOC> Iadoth imagines, 10+mod+spell level.
<OOC> Iadoth esteems that to be correct.
GAME: NEW ROUND!
      Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Three - Init 29.
It is now Centaur's turn! Ambar is next!
<OOC> Raniq says, "SL=2, mod is caster level? +1 for spell focus evocation."
<OOC> Raniq says, "DC 16 then."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Top of the round. The centaur is 120 ft. from Amythyst and Ambar, 60 ft. from Raniq and 40 ft. from Aya."
<OOC> Aya says, "Spell level + casting stat modifier +miscellaneous."

The centaur is close to the enshrouded mul'niessa, and this just pisses him off more. Arrogantly the creature strides to within ten feet of the sil, and hurls one of his axes at her.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+9: (9)+9: 18
<OOC> Iadoth assumes that misses.
<OOC> Raniq says, "SL (2) + Int mod (+4) still = DC 16"

The axe fails to connect, and is lost in the temporary gloom surrounding the monk.

<OOC> Iadoth drat.
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Three - Init 18.
It is now Ambar's turn! Aya is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ambar, you're up! The centaur is 90 ft. from you and Amythyst, 30 ft. from Raniq and 10 ft. from Aya."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Is this the last round of Bless?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Bless lasts ages."
<OOC> Ambar says, "Its 3 minutes"
<OOC> Ambar says, "30 rounds"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Awesome!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I was going to +tnote it, but it lasts so long that I thought it unnecessary."
<OOC> Ambar says, "Ok. hrm"
<OOC> Ambar says, "one second"
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods.
<OOC> Iadoth goes to finish chores.
<OOC> Ambar says, "Whats the range?"
<OOC> Aya says, "90 ft from you and Amythyst"
<OOC> Ambar says, "Ok, I'll double move and have the spiritual weapon attack once. So 40 move (I wear full plate)"
GAME: Ambar rolls bab+wisdom+1: (19)+2+4+1: 26
GAME: Ambar rolls 1d8+1: (1)+1: 2
<OOC> Ambar eyes that die
<OOC> Raniq figures it's down to 61hp before Amy's next magic missile.

Ambar starts to move towards the centaur, the cleric is unusally well protected, wearing full plate and even using a tower shield. Its like a magic tank. As he approaches his spiritual trident manages to scratch the centaur again.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "It is indeed down to 61 hp."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Three - Init 14.
It is now Aya's turn! Amythyst is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Aya! The thing is 10 ft. from you, looking cross."
<OOC> Aya will close upon it, attempting Acrobatics to avoid AoO if prudent. "I will ake a single strike, with Stunning Fist, for nonlethal damage.'
<OOC> Raniq would look cross, too, if he had just thrown his weapon into a cloud of inky darkness.
<OOC> Aya is still visible to Darkvision, and possibly low-light vision.
GAME: Aya rolls acrobatics+2: (13)+11+2: 26
Amythyst has connected.
<OOC> Aya says, "Welcome back"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Hi, Amy. You did another Missile for 9hp while you were gone."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Thanks."
<OOC> Iadoth checks, no acrobatics roll required.
GAME: Aya rolls melee+1+1: (11)+8+1+1: 21
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That ... will hit."
GAME: Aya rolls 1d8+3+2+1: (7)+3+2+1: 13
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Nonlethal?"
<OOC> Aya says, "Yes."
<OOC> Aya says, "Stunning Fist DC is 15"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Fort, right."
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+10: (16)+10: 26
<OOC> Aya also makes a free Intimidate check from Enforcer feat for the nonlethal.
<OOC> Aya says, "Yes, Fort save."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "GFI."
GAME: Aya rolls intimidate+2 org +2 feat: (20)+10+2 org+2 feat: 34
<OOC> Aya says, "...but it might be demoralized..."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Urgh."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Momentito."
<OOC> Aya says, "Shaken condition."
<OOC> Iadoth nodnods. "And successfully."
<OOC> Aya says, "Shaken for 1 round per point of damage dealt by the attack."
GAME: Note Shaken added to Centaur with a duration of 13 rounds.
<OOC> Iadoth avoids the Stunning Fist though.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Well, if you want to pose that particularly complicated turn of events."

Just in case the hooved beast wasn't aware, Aya comments softly. "You missed. I won't." Immediately after comes a sharp backhand that's meant to impair more than wound. She doesn't miss, though it may not have quite the debilitating affect she'd hoped.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Three - Init 9.
It is now Amythyst's turn! Raniq is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It is now Amythyst's turn!"
<OOC> Iadoth advises action!
<OOC> Amythyst says, "More magic missiles"
GAME: Amythyst rolls 2d4+2: (5)+2: 7
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Lovely. It's down to 54 hp."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "A quick posie?"
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Sure."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Also it has 13 pts of nonlethal damage."

Still staying as far away from the CEntaur as possible, Amythyst plugs another pair of blue orbs into the Centaur's flank....

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Three - Init 4.
It is now Raniq's turn! Centaur is next!
<OOC> Raniq still has a flaming sphere in effect which does 3d6+1 fire damage if the centaur fails a reflex save, and only requires a move action to make the attempt, which leaves me with a standard action still available in which I will cast frigid touch and send my familiar to deliver it with a touch attack for 4d6+1 damage. As long as I don't cast another spell, the frigid touch remains held by the familiar until the touch attack is attempted.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What do we need to do then?"
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+9-2: (7)+9+-2: 14
<OOC> Raniq says, "Centaur does Refl vs DC 16"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, it failed its Reflex roll THANKS AYA."
<OOC> Aya smiles.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I'll take a little damage then."
GAME: Raniq rolls 3d6+1: (8)+1: 9
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Down to 45 hp, then!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You's terrible."
GAME: Raniq casts Frigid Touch. Caster Level: 3 DC: 17
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So, your familiar is going to try and deliver a touch attack."
<OOC> Raniq says, "yes"
<OOC> Raniq says, "+finger me and follow link to see stats"
<OOC> Iadoth shrugs, trusts you, roll away.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It can move 30 ft.?"
<OOC> Raniq says, "only 20 ft."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, that's gonna be resolved next turn then I suppose."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "and....Raniq?"
<OOC> Raniq nods. Will pose now.
<OOC> Aya will need to leave in a few minutes, unfortunately. "I might be able to get my next action off."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "I'm MOSTLY sure that your familiar can retain the charge until the attack is successful."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That seems to be a moot point."

Raniq's flame ball bounces into the centaur, as he casts a new spell. While its effects are not visibly evident, his ermine runs off toward the centaur.

GAME: NEW ROUND!
      Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Four - Init 29.
It is now Centaur's turn! Ambar is next!

The Centaur now has an axe to grind --- almost literally, in fact. The small throwing axe in his hand is brought down against the dark-shrouded mul.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+11-2: (16)+11+-2: 25
<OOC> Aya says, "That will hit."
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d6+7: (4)+7: 11
GAME: You damaged Aya for 11 points. 28 remaining.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Garr, Rasputin."

The axe connects, and makes a solid impact, but fails to injure the mul overly much. Truly, she is the monk who would not die.

GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Four - Init 18.
It is now Ambar's turn! Aya is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Ambar, you're up!"
<OOC> Ambar says, "Ok, so I move another 20. That should put me at 30 I think."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "The centaur is: 0 ft. from Aya, 30 ft. from Raniq, 50 ft. from Ambar and 90 ft. from Amythyst."
<OOC> Iadoth nods to your assumption.
<OOC> Ambar says, "This will be my last spiritual weapon attack for that casting, and I'll use my storm burst ability. Its a range touch, nonlethal damage, and they get -2 to attack rolls"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okey dokey."
GAME: Ambar rolls bab+wis: (12)+2+wis: 14
<OOC> Ambar says, "even if I did it right, still a miss"
<OOC> Iadoth shakes head.
GAME: Ambar rolls ranged: (12)+1: 13
<OOC> Ambar says, "touch?"
<OOC> Iadoth nods head to that one. "Touch AC: 11"
GAME: Ambar rolls 1d6+1: (2)+1: 3
<OOC> Ambar says, "nonlethal, and then -2 to attacks for 1 round"
<OOC> Iadoth hang on.

The cleric continues to approach, now only 30' from the centaur. His spiritual trident starts to attack again, but ends up fading away after it misses. Ambar raises his trident to point at the centaur, and a small cloud that sound sounds of thunder bursts around the creature for an instant.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "That brings the nonlethal total to 16."
GAME: Note StormBurst added to Centaur with a duration of 1 rounds.
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Four - Init 14.
It is now Aya's turn! Amythyst is next!
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, Aya, make it count!"
<OOC> Aya will Flurry with Ki, Stunning Fist on first, Style Strike on second
GAME: Aya spends ONE point of KI POOL.

GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+10-2: (1)+10+-2: 9 (EPIC FAIL)
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That's a no, then."
<OOC> Iadoth assumes stunning for a few rounds.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Also is that nonlethal?"
<OOC> Aya says, "Stunned for one round, drops anything held."
<OOC> Aya says, "No that was normal damage."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okey dokey."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Down to 34 hp, then, and is currently not holding any of those throwing axes."
GAME: Note Stunned added to Centaur with a duration of 1 rounds.
<OOC> Raniq says, "WB"
<OOC> Iadoth argh.
<OOC> Iadoth probably didn't miss anything.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "nope"
<OOC> Raniq says, "Nope."

Aya does not like being slashed with an axe. Then again, who would? Stifling a cry, she grits her teeth and lashes out with fury. The initial roudhouse kick clocks the centaurs's chin, leaving it momentarily disoriented. Too bad that the spin also throws Aya's balance to hell and her follow-up strikes are abyssmal. If she's very lucky, they were also unseen.

<OOC> Aya hands out noms and must go. "Thank you for the scene."
Aya has disconnected.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thanks Aya. I'll get the log up."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Four - Init 9.
It is now Amythyst's turn! Raniq is next!

<OOC> Amythyst says, "magic missile!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Wheee."
GAME: Amythyst rolls 2d4+2: (2)+2: 4
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What hp did I say last? 34 hp?"
<OOC> Amythyst says, "yup."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "And nonlethal?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "I quit the window."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Lethal."
<OOC> Raniq says, "16"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thanks Raniq."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay, 30 hp remaining."
<OOC> Amythyst afks after my pose.....for a little bit.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. Shall I just keep rolling your MMs?"

Amythyst is thankful for Aya's darkness. She keeps plugging away with her Magic missiles.

<OOC> Amythyst says, "Sure. I shouldn't be too long."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okey dokey."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round Four - Init 4.
It is now Raniq's turn! Centaur is next!

<OOC> Iadoth says, "A touch attack from Herman the Sherman, please."
GAME: Raniq rolls 1d20+1+2: (18)+1+2: 21
<OOC> Iadoth wat.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You lucky so-and-so,"
GAME: Raniq rolls 4d6+1: (20)+1: 21
<OOC> Raniq says, "cold damage"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. 9 hp remaining, which is... less than the current nonlethal damage."
<OOC> Raniq says, "As for me, I'm going to smack it with the last round of the flaming sphere. Refl save vs DC 16."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So the centaur falls unconscious."
<OOC> Ambar says, "AFK 5, bathroom"
<OOC> Raniq says, "and immolates?"
GAME: Raniq rolls 3d6: (13): 13
<OOC> Raniq was also going to cast scorching ray, but seems not to need to.
<OOC> Iadoth guesses that unconscious creatures can't make reflex rolls. As such, the centaur is now at -4 hp.
<OOC> Raniq says, "Just to be fair, Herman should probably roll a reflex save, yes?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oooh, definitely."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Herman is Tiny, right?"
<OOC> Raniq says, "yes"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yes, in that case."
GAME: Raniq rolls FamiliarReflex: aliased to 1d20 +4: (14)+4: 18
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Phew."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Yeah."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Assumed you didn't want to also immolate your pal."
<OOC> Raniq says, "No, indeed."
<OOC> Iadoth shrugs. "You can take a standard action if you like."
<OOC> Iadoth doublechecks, and the rage ends when unconscious, so... suddenly the centaur also loses 10 hp.
<OOC> Raniq says, "Does the centaur live to -10 hp?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So now it's at -14 hp. And it lives until negative Con."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Okay. Spell, then."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Burny burny."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Bloody wizards."
GAME: Raniq casts Scorching Ray. Caster Level: 3 DC: 17
GAME: Raniq rolls ranged: (13)+3: 16
GAME: Raniq rolls 4d6+1: (16)+1: 17
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That... that will immolate it."
<OOC> Raniq assumes it didn't have a 31 CON?
<OOC> Raniq grins.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It doesn't have 31 Con, but actually it wasn't far off."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Anything, the beast is dead."
<OOC> Raniq is only 3rd level, too.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you'd like to pose your triplicate action, then I'd be happy to pose out."
<OOC> Raniq says, "Er. Ooc...."
<OOC> Iadoth indeed!
GAME: Iadoth removes the timestop.
Timestop by Iadoth has left.
GAME: You remove the timestop.

Herman the ermine, swiftly reaches the centaur, only to rebound off back toward Raniq after freezing the monster. Meanwhile, the goodness gracious great ball of fire smacks it from the other side, dissolving as the ermine gets away, and the centaur falls, finally being incinerated by a ray shot by the young wizard.

<OOC> Amythyst thuds.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "back just in time, hmm?"

Scooping up his furry friend, Raniq lets out a loud whoop.

<OOC> Raniq says, "Uh. Yep."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Sorry about bailing on you multiple times, Iadoth."
<OOC> Raniq was glad to have Amythyst and Ambar along. 'Twas a ream effort.
<OOC> Raniq says, "or a Team effort"

The centaur, falling in battle as was its wont, is destroyed by the shadowy forces acting on behalf of the Rune army. The other guards in the fields, clearly shocked by this, hesitate for a moment before taking their weapons and fleeing as fast as possible away from those who would fell their powerful master. The slaves, great in number, give a great series of cheers, and proceed to rush towards the heroes, piling upon them great exultations.

Now just comes the simple matter of how to get these prisoners of war back to Rune. But, your mission's completed; that's a job for somebody else.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Hey, nae bother Amythyst. These things do 'appen."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Needles and pins, freezes and fires."
<OOC> Raniq really had fun. Big thanks, Iadoth.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Hee."
<OOC> Ambar says, "Thanks for having me in last minute"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Nae bother. I'll post the log. I ... don't know who is going to get XP for this. I really don't."
<OOC> Amythyst says, "whomever stayed for the combat I guess."
<OOC> Iadoth imagines everyone here tonight will, and maybe the first part will count towards something too.
<OOC> Amythyst nodnods.
<OOC> Raniq figures Hurricane will have a head scratcher figuring it out.
<OOC> Amythyst says, "Hurricane will figure it out."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It was a CR 1 fight, though. Perhaps I'll just bill it like that."
<OOC> Amythyst noms you all anyways.
<OOC> Iadoth has done likewise.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Have a fun evening, folks."
