-=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=<* A02: Lower Trades District *>=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-

The Lower Trades District is the home of the working man of Alexandria. The Lower Trades is divided, unofficially, into two parts: that controlled by the gobbers, and that controlled by the khazad. The two areas stand in contrast, one with a strong, almost formal architecture and a predilection for blacksmiths, the other a mixture of propped-up rubble and gunpowder. The latter's started to grow however, and take form with the aid of the more structured Arvek Nar. Still, the two stand as uneasy neighbors, though the oruch more easily work both sides, often in the spirit of a friendly, if competitive, warriors' competition that's unique to Alexandria, itself.

Here, the "khazad section" boasts a number of blacksmiths, glass smiths, artifice shops, and basic taverns, as well as any number of trades shops and eateries. The sweet tinge of oil, iron, and spiced BBQ is everywhere. Shrines to Reos, or marks of the same, are found over most doorways, in homage to the khazad Mountain Father and World Smith.

Moonshadow has arrived.

Jessa has arrived.

Nom nom nom nom nom!

Not an unsuual sound near Bob's BBQ Bin, but it tends to be dwarves and hobs gnawing away at the spicy ribs. A tall elf is not the normal customer, though really, who can resist a hot plate of ribs? Setting a cleaned bone aside, Mikilos wipes a bit of sauce from his lips, nodding to 'Bob', a dwarf who's name is actually Terims, but that didn't look as good on the marquee. "Very good. A little more vineger then I prefer, but a good blend of peppers.... and... a hint of brown sugar?"

"Sugar? That sounds fantastic." Jessa just appears at Mikilos's elbow and snakes a hand out to snag one of the ribs. "Let's see." She seems determined to start munching herself.

And Agril appears not long after that, having just stroled onto the scene just behind Jessa, actually. "Hm," he says, "Well. Can't say I'm not surprised..." Surprised? About *what*? Agril seems to have something *in particular* in mind, but does not voice it yet.

Also walking into the rib shack, Moonshadow takes a deep breath of the different smells in the BBQ bin and tilts her head. "This is a different place than I'm used to seeing." She says softly as she finaly spots Mikilos. "Taste testing, Mik?"

Mikilos grins, and offers a rib to Agril with sticky fingers. To be fair, it's BBQ, sticky fingers are almost a given. "Try the new spice blend, maybe you will be susprised." He nods to Moonshadow, and grins, useing a rib to motion to a small basket of napkins. "Join in. They're really quite good."

Jessa's already eating because that's what halflings do. Eat, drink, be merry. Speaking of drinks, she pulls out a little flask, waving it about. "They are good! Anyone want a drink?"

Moonshadow nods quietly and reaches for one of the ribs. She then bites it and her eyebrows go up quickly. "mmmmm...you were right, these are pretty good! And that's saying something." She says softly and eats more.

Mikilos shakes his head to Jessa. "No thanks. I'm not sure how much burbon is in the Burbon Honey Wings." Looking to Moonshadow, the elf tries to frown, but is slightly too amused to do it right. "Why susprised? I know where to find great food. Knowing stuff is what I -do-."

"Ah, yes. Thank you," says Agril. He takes the rib. "I've been here before, actually. Barbecued ribs are lovely," hje adds. His eyes go down to Jess, then to Moonshadoq. He squints at her.

"You didn't put any magic on these, did you?" Jessa suddenly pulls back her piece of rib, eyeing it and then Mikilos suspiciously. "You do like to use magic on everything."

Moonshadow chuckles at Mikilos. "usually I rarely eat more than meat buns, Mikilos." She says softly. "So trying new things are scarce for me....."

Mikilos snerks softly, and smiles at Jessa. "No, there's are Bob's ribs. Only magic is clean up." The elf ponders a moment, then shakes his head. "Can make illusionary flavors, but is never quite the same." The elf quirks a brow at Moonshadow. "Really? Ahd thought you more the adventureous sort."

"Well. That's all right then." Jessa goes back to eating, taking delicate bites of her food. SHE has no problem taking sips of drink as she does. "I'll let you clean up my fingers after certainly."

Moonshadow smiles to Mikilos. "I am, actually. However, there's a diet regimen along with the martial practice. This is one of my few days of the month where I try new things."

Agirl eats the ribs! REally. Then he sets the bone aside when he's done with it and then eyes JEssa for a moment before sayimg, "Magic shouldn't be used for such petty purposes." A solemn nod here.

Moonshadow picks up another ribs and begins to eat it. Much slower this time to savor the taste.

Mikilos blinks at Moonshadow, frowning thoughtfully a moment before shrugging, and turning his focus to Agril. "Cleanliness isn't petty." The wizard likely has a rather diffrent viewpoint of magic and it's uses.

"Magic should be used for /useful/ purposes. Cleaning off my face and fingers isn't petty at all." Jessa gives Agril a completely innocent expression before nodding to Mikilos.

Moonshadow chuckles softly and sucks on one of her fingers. "The sauce is good too." She says softly as she reaches for a third.

"Everything here is good, actually," says Agril, "I am quite fond of this." Then he eyes JEssa and Mikilos before sighing. "I am not going to win that struggle, I fear."

Mikilos grins to Agril. "It's adorable that you even tried."

Bursting into laughter, Jessa nods to Agril. "You so are not to win this, yes."

"Well, it was certaily worth a try. Important, you know. It is what I do," says Agril, dryly, to Jessa and Mikilos. Then he wipes his fingers with his handkerchief. See? He lives by hus own standards and such!

Mikilos hrmms, and nods. "I suppose trying the impossible -is- sorta your thing. Since you actually do the impossible so much people tend to forget how impossible it is."

Jessa smiles brightly at Agril, amused by his actions. THen she finishes her rib and places the bone on the plate. Holding out her hands for Mikilos, she winks at Moonshadow then waits expectantly.

Moonshadow raises her eyebrows at Jessa, then looks to Mikilos. She finishes her rib and sucks on her fingers after she puts the bone down.

Mikilos quirks a brow and murmurs a moment, cleaning off his own hands, unsure just what Jessa has in mind. But for a best guess, the elf lightly touches her finger tips, an arcane sparkle clearing away the remaining traces of sauce.

Jessa now smiles smugly and laces her fingers beneath her chin. Then she turns that smile on Agril.

With a sigh, Agril says, "Wizards." As if this is a terrible, terrible thing. Bloody -wizards-.

Kravar has arrived.

Mikilos snorts softly, and grins. "What, you'd prefer an artificer?"

Jessa laughs and laughs, so merrily, so pleased. She just grins impishly and kicks her legs.

"Hmph," says Agril in response to Mikilos. "I'd prefer magic not being used cavalierly!" A finger pointed at Jessa, "Though one must allow for inspiration to strike, I suppose, hm?" He grins towards her.

Younger has arrived.

Mikilos snorts again. "It's not wizards who build factories. I'd say something aobut the manastreetlamps, but honestly I'd be fine makeing some lamps myself. Some in the Academy are arcane based."

Kravar appears at the edge of the market place, keeping to the khazad areas. A wooden keg-shaped container is held oover one shoulder and his other hand occasionally raises a loaf of bread to his mouth so that he can tear off a mouthful.

Moonshadow blinks and listens to this for a moment before getting up and bowing to Mikilos. "I should get back to what I was doing. I'll see you soon, Mikilos."

"Sometimes inspiration is such a fickle thing," Jessa says breezily.

Svarshan has arrived.

Mikilos nods to Moonshadow, waving fare well, before turning to select a fresh plate of ribs from Bob's BBQ Bin. A dwarven merchant doing more than a small bit of busniess. The tangy scent of roast meat wafting thru the area likely helps.

Blessed Coyote. Let this be a prank. The owner of Bob's may well be thinking such things as he eyes the creature moving, slowly, down the way. Svarshan moves with the slowness of...molassas, though there's a slight brightness to his eyes, a...fixation...on the goal ahead. BBQ.

Jessa's seated beside Mikilos and across from Agril, looking generally content. And clean.

Svarshan has left.

Younger has left.

Agril puts a hand over his face. Then he reaches for another rib. Just like that.

Mikilos ponders a few moments, and frowns, looking to Jessa. "...I never did get to show off my new hat properly, did I?"

Jessa is full, it appears. At least of food. She's drinking, swinging her legs. "What new hat?"

Kravar makes his way over to Bob's, drawn by the smell or the people. He nods in greeting to Jessa and then peers at the ribs.

Mikilos grins, and fishes around a moment before taking a hat out of his pocket. It's a bright blue floppy sort of knit stocking cap, with a number of sparkley crystal bangels hanging down. It is gaudy in a way even a teenage girl might find a bit much. As Mikilos sets it upon his head, his head becomes much lower, though his body shrinks to stay under it. The elfs ear widen a bit, and his nose grows to a properly bulbous gnomish nose to sit upon a gnomish face, connected to a very gnomish body. A rather elfin gnomish body, but still a gnome. "Not the disguise I'd usually pick for myself, but I have to say it's pretty effective."

"...a new hat?" says Agril, warily, to Mikilos. He scoots back a bit as Mikilos takes on the form of a gnome and says, "..oh dear gods. Why are you a gnome?" This is horrific.

"Gods. Why can't you look like a proper handsome race. Lucht and all." Jessa has Opinions.

Mikilos laughs, grinning at Agril. "It's the hat. I helped the Guild with some research, they gave this as payment. Can change my clothing, hair, features, whatever. But always a gnome. Quite intresting, really. Most disguise magics aren't able to change one's size so drastically."

"Well. You are the proper size, of course," Because Jessa Is A Racist, "But so ugly...."

Mikilos is a very handsome gnome! ....so far as other gnomes are concerned. But since he's really an elf, he just shrugs. "At least it lets me pick the colors. There's default settings, but they make me think of rainbow vomit."

Jessa might have said something else but then someone calls for her and she bounds to her feet. "OH! OH! Hallooooooo!" And just like that, the Muse abandons the table.

Jessa has disconnected.

Moonshadow has disconnected.

"That's pretty horrifying," says Agril. Then he chomps on a rib and turns towards Kravar and adds, "Agril Doran. Sunguard." A hand is etended. It's been cleaned off by a handkerchief. "I see you know Jessa."

Mikilos chuckles, and takes off the hat, returning to his usual self as he tucks it back into a pocket. "Could be worse. I'm not entirely sure how, but I'm sure there's a way."

"You could be Jinks," says Agril to Mikilos, solemnly.

Mikilos ponders that for a few moments. "...I'm really not sure I could, even if I tried. Which I won't. But some things are just beyound possible. One Jinks is plenty, the universe would not allow another."

"...there is that," admits Agril, warily. "I'm not sure that the planar fabric could handle it. It's bad enough that Jinks and Jibbom are in the same realm of existance."

Mikilos ponders. "...Jinks, Jibbom, and Jessa.... what is it with 'J' names?"

"..you know," muses Agril, "this is a good point..."

Mikilos shrugs. "There's likelya counter example out there, though I'm not thinking of a good 'J' name just now. Though 'Spike' isn't a J-name at all."

"...Where IS Spike lately, anyways? I haven't heard of any chairs being ruined. Perhaps she's gone to destgroy chairs somewher eelse..." Agril is musing this.

Mikilos shrugs. "Holed up somewhere for the winter, perhaps. I hear warm weather brings out the crazies, so I'm sure will be back soon enough." The elf ponders a moment, and shrugs again. "Little sad, really, how people just sorta wander out of your life, and takes a while before you even notice. Though are usually new people wandering in, so isn't all bad."

Kravar has disconnected.
