Arcanists trying their hands

Mikilos humms absently to himself, up to his shoulder in mud. Well, clay. A wet clay pot, to be specific. Pretty big one. The wizard pumps the pedals of a simple turntable, shaping the clay set atop. Several more finished pots of assorted sizes and shapes sit nearby, several still damp, a few quite dry, and a rather large kiln on the edge of the yard radiating heat.

Erendriel opens the door to the store slowly. it's slow, because she has her hands folded behind her back. A mage hand is opening the door, carefully. Once it's in, she steps inside. "Good morning!"

Mikilos glances up from his pottery, and nods with a smile. "Good morning. What are you up to today?" The elf is a bit focused on his efforts, raising the walls of the pot to something almost man height. Not the most impressive of displays, but not bad for a non-professional.

GAME: Mikilos rolls craft/pottery: (20)+12: 32

Erendriel does have to keep some focus on her spell, but she can glance at Mikilos and what he's doing. "Oooh what are you making?" she giggles. "I'm seeing how far I can go today without using my real hands. I was told it's good practice."

Mikilos grins, and stretches, quite content with his ratehr expertly crafted work. Now just to let it dry. "Salamander bribes. Seems the plane of fire is somewhat lacking in quality ceramics. Plenty of heat, fair bit of earth, but no much by way of liquid water to shape the clay. So, making some pots to give as gifts, try and get on the good side of a few and see what happens."

Erendriel comes closer. Her mage hand though goes to pick up one of his tools, grasping it delicately before setting it back down. She's looking at the most recent pot, and grins. "Oh awesome. They like clay? To... eat it?"

Mikilos frowns mildly at his tools being moved, but lets it slide, shaking his head. "No no, to use." He ponders a moment. "Actaully I'm not entirely positive what they eat. I have a vauge impression of meat and arcane magics, but I should likely look into that before inviting one over for dinner." Glancing towards the kiln, the mage murmurs a moment and uses his own telekenetic hand to send a log onto the coals glowing under the solid bricks. Little toasty for getting close the regular way.

Erendriel nods. She trise to push the tool right back where it was, when he reacts to taking it. "Sorry... just habit. Trying to practice," she giggles and shrugs. "I have to learn how to use delicate tools this way."

Mikilos mmmms. "Set some papers on a shelf, sprinkle sand over top, then bush the sand away without moving the papers." He blinks, and frowns mildly. "Wait, why 'have to'?"

Erendriel giggles. "I um. Did I tell you about who I'm joining? It's usually kind of quiet. Have you heard of the Acquisitioners? It's training so I Can help them more."

Mikilos frowns, thinking a moment before shaking his head. "I'm sure I've heard the name, but I don't recall the details. Something about dangerous artifacts?"

Erendriel nods firmly. Hands still right in place, she grins. "It's really neat. Just go and find things that could hurt a lot of people, and take them away from the people who want to do evil with them. It's run by Elunite priests. They're trianing me on disabling traps, and opening locks, and stuff like that. When they learned I Can do magic... they suggested I put the two together, you know?"

Mikilos tsks, but shrugs. "Magic theives." Sounds like he has OPINIONS on that. "....buuut... the Elunite's tend to know what they're doing... Certainly better than the Guild of Sly or some such."

Erendriel almost covers her mouth to giggle, but catches herself and just pinches her lips to snicker. "Yeah. I'm not a thief. It's for a good cause. Just because I'm putting in an order from a perfectly reputable thief supplier... doesn't mean I have to use it for evil."

Mikilos sighs, and waves vaugely. "As i don't make careful background checks on my customers, I can't say too much. I mean, I've never knowingly supplied to a proper villian, but as often as there's been a lick or vampire or somethign runnning around disguised... I should likely get some True Sight goggles or some such."

Erendriel grins. "Well, Mikilos, if you ever sell an artifact to someone and that person tries to commit genocide with it um... you might find it returned to your workshop with a note from me on it."

Mikilos grins and nods. "Fair enough. I will try to avoid it comming up, but, well, bad guys can be tricky."

Erendriel giggles and pokes his tool one more time, trying to get it just so. "Well, um... I might need to talk to you soon about some enchantments if you have the time. i know you're very busy. But I'm gonna get back to practicing before I mess up your tools more. Bye!"

Mikilos nods, and waves. "My schedule is tied up at the moment, but feel free to ask when you're ready. I might be clear by then."
