Asmli, who had been stumping along in uncharacteristic quietude since they agreed to go into the ruins, finally speaks up. "Yeah, who lived in a place like that, and what did they _do_ to blast it like this?"

Echo, his crystals a bit dusty from all the tramping about in the desert, happens to look over it all and shakes his head. "Going around is probably wisest. It is best if that is left for another day. Perhaps we can find funds or the like to come back here." He looks to the others before starting to move along those outskirts.

"Well, hopefully we /never/ have to come back here," is what K'nap whistles. He looks around, nervous fluttering of his wings following. "Don't really know but it seems bad." That's all he can say, really, as he urged moving on.

Victor hurries along in the direction indicated, occasionally looking around to make sure no one in the party is falling behind. He also steals one last glance at in the direction of the center of the city.

Asmli is more than willing to move on, although he removes the harness holding his urgrosh from his back as they walk. He shoves the empty harness unceremoniously into his pack and takes the weapon out - just in case, you understand. "Yeah," he nods to K'nap. "Really bad."

Nasrin's attention has, by this point, bgun to wander. In order to keep her mind on track and nervves at ease her response to this is to begin belting out a tune. This one seems to be some sort of nonsense about a poor fellow explaining the horrifying and increasingly absurd mishaps resulting in his failing to show up to work at a Gobber foundry. Nasrin even has a hand drum out. Because of course she does.

Victor glances towards a half-crumbled wall before turning away. "Beware," he murmurs, trying to keep his voice lowered but loud enough for the others to hear. "My senses are picking up sounds - clicking and clacking." He nods with his head in the direction of the wall.

Echo blinks, then looks down. He moves as well, pulling out his sansetsukon as he does. "We are not alone." He comments, keeping his voice equally low as he looks at the wall itself.

"Are we ever?" Nasrin asks with a sigh, setting the drum aside in favour of taking up her axe once more. "Just point me in the right direction and we'll sort it out. These thing shave no manners."

"Good. I'd like something to rip apart." Asmli wears a feral grin as he takes a better grip on the urgrosh that had already been in his hands. "Let 'em show themselves, if they aren't cowards."

"No, no don't say things like that, it's.."

K'nap's words are too late as the skeletal figure rises up from behind the fallen wall that it was concealed by. The foundation protected it, certainly. It's garments have long since fallen away, but its armor remains upon it, a rusty halberd in its posession. It takes one step towards you.

The another.

CLickity clickity go others, also rising up from behind the wall. Like they had taken shelter there, and died where they laid.

A half-dozen, now.

Echo runs up suddenly as he sees what they are facing, moving a hand to grab the holy moon symbol as he raises it, "By Eluna's light, go back to the shadows which you came!" Three skeletons burn pretty well. The rest, not so much.

Victor turns to watch as echo moves into the battle. Victor does likewise, striding forward as he chants eldritch words and raises a hand. He comes to a stop just ahead of Echo. There's a bright flash of light and then a ray sears through one of the skeletons already burned.

The skeleal figures advance on Victor and Echo, since they're there. Stepping over the crumbling foundation, they move as one, but only one of their weapons is able to be brought to bear sucesfully throuigh his shields.

That'd be a halberd blow that crashes into his shoulder.

When the things come up, Asmli is more than ready. He steps up and takes a good, hard swing at one, connecting but doing little enough to magically animated bones. He swears colorfully, but it doesn't help much either.

Another one rises up.

The good news is that its just anmother skeleton.

The /bad/ news is that it's the skeleton of a very, very, /very/ large figure.

You can still hear them, though, those sounds on the wind. Whispers. Cries of grief of some kind, as if the city remains in mourning for its fall.

More skeletons rise up. Three of them.

Archers, it seems, with bows of ancient age. They reach for arrows they do not have, pantomiming shooting you.

Echo, with Nasrin's spell, slams his sansetsukon into one skeleton even if he misses the other on the second whip like swing of the triple sectioned staff. Said skeleton he hits... just explodes it seems into bones and dust. Seriously, who's idea was it to up the strength of a Monk War Golem?

Victor flinches as the halber strikes his shoulder. He swats his other arm in a clublike blow. It's not skillfull, and doesn't use the fist, instead just swings the forearm into and through a skeletal ribcage, smashing it to bits.

The golems lay into the skeletons and Nsrin watches, her blue eyes thoughtful as shards of bone fly in all directions. She lowers her axe now and tkes a deep breath, adjusting her gauntlets. Then the tall, slender Dranei Cleric breaks into a sprint. What she lacks in mass she makes up for with momentum and raw abandon, charging down one of the skeletons as she shouts, "Fore!" She manages to plunge her fist through the sternum of the undead monster and up through the base of its skull. "Oh! Hey." She spreads her metal clad fingers, clacking the jaw. "...Hand puppet." The halberd does not appear to concern her currently.

Clank, clank.

These armeored skeletons are slower than the others, stepoing over the walls and advancing into the fallen, sand-covered 'streets' you're passing through.

The whispers on the wind seems to iotnensify.
