  • Title: Trick or Treat 4, Dr. Tonka's Travelling Candy Factory
  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Merek, Tenoc, Morgan, Gregor, Kira, Molly, Mercy
  • Place: A14: Sage Orum's Plaza, University District
  • Time: Thursday, October 15, 2020, 2:00 PM
  • Summary: Doctor Tilly Tonka's Travelling Candy Factory sets up in the Sage Orum plaza. He gets it running, producing a simply huge gobstopper, caramel, thing. Placing a bowl and a sign, he warns people to take only one, then runs into the library. Most do, until a lumpy sith'makar in a trenchcoat takes a bunch and runs off. Children are grabbing handfulls, which is at most two or three because the things are huge. They stuff their faces, get sick, and turn into Were-Pommeranians, as well as a Were-Main Coon Cat, -Red Panda, -Squirrel and -Pot Bellied Pig. Dr. Tonka comes back outside, sees what is happening, and does his best to leave as Were-Poms+ start biting and fleeing. Mayhem Ensues, with several Were-Critters fleeing, the Factory rolling some distance away before being disabled and stopped, and various spells going off, causing rain, black tentacles, calmness and paralysis. Kira corrals the children, eventually most are calmed down and changed back. Some turn out to be goblins and a gnome, and the plaza is cleaned. Dr. Tonka disavows all responsibility and escapes.

-=--=--=--=--=<* A14: Sage Orum's Plaza, University District *>-=--=--=--=--=-

Named after one of Alexandria's most learned (and perhaps addled) minds, the new University District of the city contains a number of entertainment spots as well as areas of culture and learning. Though many structures and sculptures can be found here, two buildings dominate the plaza with an air of friendly animosity--the grand buildings of the Society for Progressive Arcanists and the Artificer's Guild.

Poised on opposite sides of the central plaza, the two face one another like old misers, each uncertain as to what the other's up to, and pranks between students are a rule of thumb. A series of levies and fines exists should they get too far out of hand, though at times the results may be spectacular. Performers often make use of the great plaza by filling it with music, and rare is the visit without passing a performer's hat or three, five, or nine. Likewise, ramshackle shops selling every sort of magic bauble line the ways, all of varying (and often questionable) quality. A grand statue of Sage Orum overlooks it all, his expression slightly perplexed perhaps, at its mixture of grandeur, invention, glass-filled baubles, and chaos.

At the far end of the area, is the city library. From public records to research into the history of the city and the region itself, there is much one can learn at the city library. Many stories tall, the building towers up over well-lit, tightly-packed cobblestone streets.

In the distance, the Redridge Mountains rise overhead in all their glory. At their peaks, one can see the airships docking, landing, and flying off again under the banners of not only Alexandria but many great nations.

It's a fair weather day, with westerly gusts and clouds drifting across a stark blue sky.

>Vzzzzzz!< >Fizzzzzz!< >Wheeeeeet!< >Foooootle< >Pop< >Pop< >Pop< >CLANG!<

An enclosed wagon of ususual shape rolls into the Sage Orum Plaza. It trundles on two large wagon wheels, easily 10' in diameter, and has an accordian shaped body. It's also self-propelled, a gyroscope on top maintaining balance. Once parked, several amber flashing lights pop out, and the wagon extends from its fifteen foot length to over forty. As long as a galleon or airbus. Multiple little wheels, legs, supports and bracing extend to provide a support structure. The sides fall down, revealing secondary glass walls, and a rube-goldberg contraption inside involving pipes, spiral tubes, wheels, levers, boiling chambers with off-gas spouts and other alchemical and artifice components. Wires and tubing! Oh My!

A garishly dressed gnome pops out of the gront. He wears striped white and yellow pants, and purple and green waistcoat, a grey shirt and orange overcoat. On his head is a tall top hat, orange and purple striped, with a grey rose bouncing around on top. He squeezes something in his overcoat, and the matching flower on it launches several small fireworks into the air that detonate over the sage's statue.

"Step up! Step up! One and all! Marvel on Doctor Tilly Tonka's Tasty Treats Travelling... Factory. *Ahem* Working on the alliteration there. It produces the best candy confectionery in the land. Observe!" The gnome throws a lever and the insides jump to jiggling production. Bellows pump, wheels spin, glass flasks bubble mysterious liquids. A sugar cube starts at one end, and progresses through a variety of processes, receiving additions, subtractions, stretching and not a few hammer blows.

A crowd starts to gather.

Merek would be about, he came to do business while in the city. He nods a bit while he walks along through the crowds until he comes upon the place he can watch the factory. He has on the usual dark attire with the belt about the waist.

City things again. Tenoc shudders as he glances around him, scenting the air again with care. 'Like termites' he had once said; nothing so far has disabused him of this notion... Though the gobbers at least have proper respect and delight in things that burn.

And good food. Even if it fights back when it shouldn't.

Spear at his side, he tilts his head to the gnomish cointraptional convectionary maker, stillness in his nature. Sniffasniff. Magical deliciousness?

Morgan comes out of the mages guild with a scroll in each hand "well I do have to say clowish people do get my notice." she starts to make her way to the wagon to see what is going to go on.

Gregor is riding through the square, just taking a bit of exercise for himself and his horse, and he peers at Alexandria's latest foray into automated confectionery. This ought to be interesting. He checks his lance and shoulders his shield. Gnomes and new things always mean trouble. The real question is will it be horrible things from some dungeon dimension, or robotic horrors springing from this contraption.

Kira knows a bit of making an delivering food, but nothing as colorful, fanciful, and tasty as Doctor Tilly Tonka. Kira doesn't even have a fancy travelling factory! Only a basket, and it's currently empty as she returns from up on the ridge and heads towards the rest of the city. Molly had, in fact, just been passing through. The priestess was on her way to nowhere in particular with no purpose in mind for the day; so cehcking out the best candy in the land seems like a perfectly worthwhile endeavour. The half-mul makes her way up, hopefully managing to get in ahead of the crowd. Well, maybe at the beginning of it.

Well, what the heck. Some people will try anything once. "I'll try some!" Molly sticks her hand up in the air and waves it around. "Oooh, me, pick me! I'll try it!"

Alexandrians are professional spectators. People wander near to watch.

The stationary travelling factory continues to hum through its bizarre production cycle. Doctor Tilly Tonka walks to the rear, literally walking on air. He hovers along above human head height, strikingly visible in his wild costume. "Observe the efficiency! In one hour, my machine can accomplish the same work that would take Ten Candy Witches an entire day!"

Candy. Candy will be the horror springing out.

He arrives at the back of the machine and produces a large bowl with a flourish. He slips it in place as the first candy pops free. A large, multicoloured thing that seems part gobstopper, part licorish, part caramel, and part hard candy. It's fairly, easily a mouthful for a child, or child-like being such as a gnome, goblin or halfling. Dr Tonka turns a little crank, winding the bowl down to easy reach for the under 3's.

Klunk. Klunk. Klunk. The bowl starts to fill with candy.

"Oops! I have to use the facilities!" Dr. Tonka says. He whips out a small sign, and slaps it over the bowl. It reads: 'Take Only One.' Security installed, he waves at Molly, "Feel free! Take just one!" then he airwalks over to the city library and disappears inside.

The factory continues to hum, squeak, peep, pop, whistle, burble, bubble, bubble, toil and double. Candy blob after candy blob appears.

Merek walks up to the thing, and picks up one of the candy pieces to try it. Why not, it would be pretty fun! He then nods a bit to people, waving when he notices Kira!

Tenoc 's eyes widen, staring. Sniff. Cautious... and ginger. Remembers evil turkeys.

...tasty, tasty turkeys.

For now-- watch. Ready to tackle any unspeakable Candy Golems that emerge!

...Sniff?

Gregor watches the machine warily, and winces as Dr Tonka chooses now to feel the call of nature. This can only go badly, of course. Gnomes and artifice are a hazard at the best of times. Unlike goblins who are totally safe.

Morgan stands back and waits for every one to get a piece before her. She gets one piece and places it in her pocket "for later." said mostly to her self.

Molly beams at the generous gnome; and naturally, she takes a piece. Just one, of course, like the good gnome said. She retreats back from the crowd of people after that, and holds her prize up to inpsect it; and it certainly looks impressive.

"Never had anything like this in the Underdark," she remarks. "Yet another reason I'm glad to have come up here." Without further ado, she looks to her left, then to her right; and then while nobody's looking she sticks out her tongue and licks it.

Kira blinks at the colorful conspicuous confectionary contraption and the complimentary candies that keep collecting in the container. "Oh, my! How wonderful!" That would certainly delight the children, or anyone/everyone with a sweet tooth.

She smiles broadly, but doesn't step in, herself. All the better to ensure that, even with the rationing of one each, all are able to enjoy.

Mercy looks around all goggle-eyed at the city centre-ish plaza. Clearly showing her 'country rube' origin. The activity catches her eye and she too wanders over to sample the Candy. Being careful to as the sign says, tale one only. She smiles at the other candy afficiandos and doffs her hat with a flourish and a flamboyant bow.

It's getting thick around the bowl. Mostly children, watching candy after candy fall out of the contraption.

A lumpy looking sith'makar wearing a trenchcoat is the first to push through the crowd and break the tension. An arm reaches out from his midsection and grabs a handful of candies. Immediately the sith turns and scurries away, hissing sinisterly, and wobbling in a strange run.

This breaks the dam of restraint. Several small hands reach and grab candies. A lot are taking more than one. Well, who would blame them. The smell is delightful, the colours intriguing, and it looks like it would make a good kickball if one decided not to eat them. The bowl is swiftly emptied, and then anxious spectators wait for another 'thunk' before scrabbling.

The gnome, Doctor Tonka, comes striding out of the Library carrying a huge stack of paper. Flyers, advertizing his marvelous machine. He looks at the mayhem of children grabbing treats, running off and stuffing their faces. Paper flies everywhere as he rushes forward with a maniac grin, "No! I said take only one!"

The obedient, children and adults alike, are fine.

The disobedient children, a few gnomes and goblins but no halflings are not. They are off stuffing their faces with the candies. Candies which have already started melting, smearing colours across on palms and cheeks. Then, individually and collectively, their stomachs gurgle, they look ill.

They double over, clutching their stomachs, moaning and groaning. They grow hair. The groans turn into growls.

They turn into the cutest werewolves ever seen! Waist high pommerainians! And a Squirrel, a pot bellied pig, a main coon cat and a red panda too. Festive!

Tenoc 's eyes widen as he surveys the rampaging candy-goers. And the afternath!

"....hssk. "Not toothy enough," he concludes, disapproving. Little Fang would not like this.

...unless one of the young weres suddenly spits fire. Then, may require reconsideration. He watches, eyes gazing across the candiers-- and back to the gnome with growingwariness. No one shoud have a grin that large!

Mercy blink blinks... "What in Deus RIGHTEOUS name is this?"

Morgan looks to the monsters turning around her "I wonder if this is something I should care about." She looks to the Gnome "excuse me Doctor Tonka what spell effect did you use, this is some great transmutation effects."

Molly is happily munching on her piece of candy, and is most of the way through with it, when... well. People start turning into werewolves. Cute, pint-sized little child werewolves. She drops the remaining couple of mouthfuls that she had; not so much out of distrust, but simple absent-mindedness; suddenly something a lot more important than enjoying candy is afoot. She reaches over her shoulder instinctively for her glaive... but no, no; most of these are children, it wouldn't do to go chopping them into bits.

So what *does* one do?

"I am going to be late for mass," the half-mul observes.

Gregor hrms, nods gravely. "And now we see the virulence inherent in the system," he says thoughtfully as the children are turned into werepomeranians and such. "This may be a problem," he allows. Parents won't like him riding down their children with a lance.

Merek looks to the ones that are changing, then he glances to the gnome, "Would you be kind to turn them back?" he asks, not liking that.

Mercy eyes her candy distrustfully. Puts it in a belt pouch and then tries to figure out what's going on. "These innocents are being wronged. Such InJUSTICE" she ponders more. "But how to right this?"

Kira's delight turns to horror as she gasps and darts to the candy-maker. "Did you know this would happen?! Will they be alright?!" Sure, they may be furrily adorable, but they were (mostly) adorable children before!

"Oh my, looks like someone took more than one!" Doctor Tonka laughs. He's up in the air, walking on it, making him hard to stop. He Air-scuttles to the front of his factory, throws some levers. It stops production. Wrrrt, ZIPPPP! FLEEEEP! PooooWOOP. Clang. Ding.Ding. Light's flash, and the whole thing contracts into its travelling form. A few more candies fall out the back, and then with a WRrrrp! Zrrrrp! He smiles down at Kira, "Yes my dear, I'm sure they'll be perfectly fine."

The machine starts to roll off. Dr. Tonka still has his grin as he waves byebye at Merek, "Nope!" He bounces away down the street on his machine. "They're not my children! No refunds!"

The were-children all look at each other in confusion. One, the pot-bellied pig, starts crying. Some start running. The rest run up and bite the nearest interesting thing.

"Wait!" Kira calls out as some start to run. She darts to grab the one nearest, picking up the little lycanthropom. Despite her worry, she tries to calm her own voice to assure it, and maybe some of the others, "Everything will be alright, don't be frightened."

Little furry things are all over the place. The Squirrel scuttles up the side of the City Library. The little main coon cat pulls up a sewer access cover and drops down. The red panda takes off for the back streets. At least one of the pommeranians seems to be trying to sneak away.

The rest, are bitey little things.

Except for the Pot bellied pig, she's sitting there crying.

Bite! Bite! Bite! Snap! Snarl. A few adventurers get chewed on, it's painful. Mercy and Molly are injured, and somehow one of the Werepoms manages to bite through the sith'makar's thick scales.

Grrr! Grrr!

Dr. Tonka and his fantastic factory continue to whistle-pop and rumble down the street. He reaches into his overcoat, withdrawing a rather bizarre and fanciful looking wand. He keeps it close, not pointing it anyone, but watching for pursuit.

He also calls out, "Warning signs were clearly posted! Not responsible for mis-use of Product. Consumption of Candy is acceptance of the acceptable eating policy! No refunds!"

Chasing after the mobile factory in a somewhat hobbled fashion, due to a were-pomeranian chewing on one booth heel, Mercy fires her light crossbow at what she hopes is a vital part. But manages only to dent the side. Perhaps due to the distraction at her feet. "HALT MISCREANT! UnDO what you have DONE! or face the wrath of JUSTICE!"

"Oh! Get away! I'm warning you!" Dr. Tonka warns, waving that wand.

As Morgan flies up in to the air and starts casting, Dr. Tonka fires his wand at her.

It... starts raining in a sixty foot circle centered on her. Now the Werepoms are getting wet.

Morgan lifts up and flys a few feet as she is getting ready to chase after him "Dont you go any where, you have to tell me how to do that." she shows no care about this kids as in her mind they needed a leason. With that she makes a motion that sends blue ghost like ropes that twins around the Gnome, "now tell me what alchmey did you use on that."

The Werepom jumps at Morgan, snapping as she flies up. He misses.

"Ow! Get off! Come on...!" Molly pleads with the little... werewolf that's busy chewing on her ankle. She finally manages to disentangle herself, though her arm gets bitten in the process. Well! Bleeding from exactly half her extremeties, she nonetheless elects to leg it, making a run after the strange contraption and even stranger gnome.

"Wait! Wait!" she shouts, "You're not considering the whole picture! Doing business in Alexandria means you have explicitly accepted the Alexandrian Better Business Policy! You can't sell, offer, or provide candy here without getting the recipients to sign a waiver if there is any chance of effects that you haven't explicitly warned the recipient about!"

Molly huffs and wheezes for a moment, and stops to catch her breath before running off again after the cart. "You might be about to be in a lot of trouble, but it's okay, there's a fix for this! Just... Just undo what happened to everyone, and I'll argue on your behalf! Okay?! I'll protect you! I will!"

Merek looks to all of the changed people, and nods a bit. While it might not be a lot, he focuses on the one that's next to him, which would take a range about him. That's easy enough while he begins to summon the divine energy with that holy symbol. There's a wave of calm that would begin shifting about.

One of the Werepoms chomps his ankle as he casts, then sits there, wagging her tail at him.

GAME: Tenoc rolls Intimidate: (20)+7: 27

Tenoc considers. Peers. Stares in curiosity. Is *sure* he has seen that long-coated figure before....

The squealing of the wagon-factory contraption as it pulls itself back together is enough to jerk his attentions back to the machine-wagon thing. And hear the gnome's laughing words as he folds up to roll away. And the tears of the young.

Some things are universal.

Tenoc is neither laughing, nor amused-- nor standing still.

Lunging up (and by-- were-pom grabs his tail in squealing surprise!), the Sith springs into furious motion; quick and sure, the Makar weaves between the scrambling people, fangs bared (properly, to show werechildren how it is done), moving over to hover over the wailing pig-child.

"BEHAVE!" he roars to the air, eyes blazing with fury. "Or this one shall TAKE AWAY HATCHING DAYS!"

<<Ow!>> He glances back, staring at the were-Pomeranian chewing happily on Sith tail. Tenoc stares, shrugs, shakes head. Glares around at the other children!

As the yappy little Were-Pommeranian is dragged over to Kira, the Athean works her social magic, saying soothing things and rubbing them between the ears. Already, two sit at her feet, rapt with attention. The one dropped off by the hobgoblin is a little more fiesty.

There is a Were-Pommeranian running in circles beneath Morgan, yapping at her. She looks playful, jumping into the air. She wants to tussle and struggle and bite. She stares at her with big puppy-dog eyes, so cute! So difficult to feel hostiles towards.

Likewise, the one by Merek stares at him with big, soulful eyes. He's such a gentle soul, he'll only chew up shoes and chase cats. He's a good boy, even if he bites.

The others remain calm, wandering in the plaza and sniffing at things. The Pot-bellied pig has stopped crying, Tenoc, Gregor and Kira have collected her and some of the others. They seem sedate.

Well, except for the one that was biting Mercy and got caught up in the Black Tentacles. High pitched yelps of terror are coming from that one.

Doctor Tilly Tonka's Tasty Treats Travelling Factory doesn't get far with a sword in its spokes. Immediately the wagon turns, its trajectory running it straight towards a building. Doctor Tonka remains paralyzed, with the throttle wide open.

Then the Black tentacles grap hold.

Surprisingly, he is not thrown clear, nor thrown under. In a rare case of gnomish safety engineering, he remains strapped in his seat. A seat that is surrounded by grasping, groping, and tugging tentacles.

They wind through the wheels, one of the Were-poms is caught up, as is Molly, and Mercy. The two held tight in the eldrich grasp, being squeezed.

GAME: Chocolate Bats damaged Morgan for 9 points. 78 HP remaining.

Swarms of chocolate bats rush at Morgan, well, the leftovers of the swarms which were very effectively devastated by her lightning bolt spell. The staff works pretty good too, as a few more are knocked down. The leftovers batter and bump into her, one flying straight at her mouth.

Painful!

And then the chocoate spiders arrive.

Everyone is covered in spiders. They crawl all over, under clothes, at nostrils and mouth. Perhaps the design was intended to be some sort of Trick or Treat, open a box and try to eat the chocolate spider before it bites you. Perhaps it was meant to be less deadly, a single one would hardly hurt at all. However when they're swarming, in eyes, ears, nose, the mouth of anyone who has it open, all the little chocolate kisses add up.

Everyone is covered in chocolate spiders, and bitten.

The were-children seem unaffected, and happily snap away at them.

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "So.... Chocolate Rain."

Morgan hmms as she flys up with the swarm folling her as she makes a moton with her hands and a few hollowed words she sends a ball of fire that takes all the bats sending a rain of chocolate rain all over every one. "this area will need cleaned.... fuck it will be me I bet."

GAME: Molly rolls cmb: (6)+5: 11

Everything was going great until suddenly there were tentacles everywhere. Big, black tentacles, all over the place, grabbing at Molly's legs and arms and... and... well grabbing.

"What the HELL?!" Molly commences thrashing and squirming, struggling to get the tentacles off of her; but every time she convinces one of them to give up a bit of grip, another one takes its place.

And then there's chocolate spiders, too.

"This is INTOLLERABLE!" she screams, flailing her arms inside of the... exactly two inches worth of give that the tentacles give her, as her situation steadily worsens. Thrashing about, it seems, will get you nowhere, Molly; but that doesn't stop her from doing it anyway.

At least the chocolate tastes nice.

Merek would heal the two, but if he does that he can't dismiss the tentacles, which means that all of that would just keep on. The man makes a gesture while he speaks then they begin to shift away into the floor of the street, while he looks to the building. He walks along to the place they are about, "Apologies about that, it looked like the wagon was spiraling into a building."

The sith'makar picks up the Werepom that is running about beneath Morgan, and brings her over to Kira.

GAME: Gregor rolls 1d20+6: (4)+6: 10

Gregor gahs as he's swarmed with chocolate bugs. Frantically, he hauls out his flail and, well, flails around. It does not do any good, though, as his flailing fails to flail any chocolate.

The Althean corrals another were-child, captivating him.

All the werepoms happily snap at the spiders crawling all over them, several get some in their jaws. There are fewer spiders now, slightly.

Doctor Tonka remains paralyzed.

The wagon, freed from the tentacles, starts moving again. It's aimed straight at the wall of a building, but it's not travelling in a straight line. With one jammed wheel it rolls in a wide circle. It hits the wall.

>>>CRACK<<<

The gnome is not thrown. Molly, Mercy and the Werepom are not caught underwheel. The building doesn't crumble, the cart doesn't break. It does deflect, then ram the wall again. Slowly it's being nudged back into the street. It will continue circling next round.

<OOC> Mercy says, "I'm going to run over and push his paralysed foot off the accelerator."

When the tentacles dissipate, Molly collapses on the ground, breathing a sigh of relief. "Thank Navos," she gasps. But, there's still work to be done, naturally. She picks herself up and staggers the distance to Mercy, being not in the greatest shape herself either. "Navos' mercy upon you," she gasps, uttering the divine words and clapping a hand on Mercy's shoulders, offering the divine balm to soothe the other woman's wounds.

I will heal that," he notes then to Molly while he places a hand upon the shoulder, mending all of her wounds with his magic. It is a pretty skilled spell.

Molly says, "Showoff."

The spiders are getting annoying, and everywhere. The sith'makar start stomping and swinging Tetzophilatil around. Oh the choco-carnage!

GAME: Gregor rolls 1d20+6: (11)+6: 17
GAME: Gregor rolls 1d8+7: (6)+7: 13
<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "you kill a lot of chocolate"

Gregor gahs as the chocolate bugs surround him, and he takes a deep breath and surges, smashing a bunch of the chocolate swarm with his flail, leaving little brown splotches on the ball and chain as he swings into the choclate mass.

Mercy FINALLY reaches the Gnome's foot and bends over to yank it free of the accelerator pedal. lifting so hard she nearly up ends him into a nearby puddle of bat-chocolate. She looks down at her straining sword in the one wheel of the machine and then... Faints.

Things are almost under control, most of the were-pommeranians are sitting and watching Kira, or eating chocolate spiders, or both. Isn't chocolate bad for dogs? Is it bad for were-almost-wolves? Only time will tell, or an early dispell will leave that mystery unsolved.

After Tenoc's and Gregor's efforts, to say nothing of the were-children's, most of the spiders are gone. Most. The althean cleric decides that in this case, a little violence is justified, and the choco-arachnids don't really count as life. A sweep and a few stomps, and the last of the swarm is dispersed.

Although a couple spiders are visible crawling up windows and into bushes.

Doctor Tonka remains paralyzed, going no-where. With his foot off the accelerator, his wagon isn't either.

The situation is under control. Mostly.

And very chocolatly.

Gregor gahs as the last of the spiders are dispersed and the machine is stopped. "Another typical day in Alexandria," he says with a sigh, looking around to see if anyone else needs helping, or if the were children need catching.

Morgan sees that there are no more spiders and says "ok who wants to be clean of this mess?" the half elf hovering a inch off the ground "Or should I turn them back to normal?"

Eight were-children have been successfully corralled. It was eight, right? A huge pack of were-pommeranians, who are all staring at Kira, Gregor and Tenoc, with begging eyes. They want more treats, preferably ones that crawl around.

And one pot-bellied pig.

Merek would nod a bit to people, while he walks along to assist in bringing the children back to normal, taking the time to assist in keeping the scientist guy about.

Morgan helps to change them back and said "Is any one going in to the sewers to get the little bastard?" said between spells.

Gregor looks around. "There were a couple that ran off, didn't they? The ones that didn't become pomeranians? I saw a furry cat go into the sewer, and there was a panda-looking one, right? And a squirrel?"

Whrrrrrr Whrrrrr Whrrrrrrr vzzzzzzt. Pop. Ping.

The wagon returns to idling.

The were-children turn back into four children, three goblins and one gnome. Not all children, apparently.

And one well-squeezed pommeranian that had been nipping at the inquistor's heels, which vanished in all the tentacle commotion.

Morgan says "I still want to know how he did all this, impressive magic." she then walks around casting a spell to clean up the people and area before she wonders off.

Gregor nods at what Morgan says about the magic being impressive. "Strange, anyhow. And a lesson for the children, and," he eyes the goblins and gnome, "those that act like children, not to take more than is justly yours. The candyman -did- warn you all. Hopefully you will obey next time."

The Sage Orum plaza is cleaned by Morgan and Merek, dispells are cast. The gnome is contained until the hold person wears off. The first thing he does is sputter at Mercy, "What injustice? It was clearly posted, only one!"

He looks in Gregor's direction, was that support? Too far away to hear effectivey. Twisting to face Molly, he gestures at the soaked, chocolate stained flyers, "All permitting requirements were met. Those were the consent forms. Who eats strange candy in Alexandria without reading the material data sheet? It's Alexandria!"

He mutters, and grumbles. To Morgan he says, "It's a proprietary recipe, but I could use a lab assistant if you want." Merek gets a glare, he might have been paralyzed but those tentacles did unspeakable things.

All the detained 'children' are restored to normal. Some did get away. Oh well, two out of three ain't bad, or eight out of twelve as the case may be. They'll turn up sooner or later. It couldn't possibly be a permanent effect.

Although it might be a good idea to get those bites examined.

At some point there's a moment were Doctor Tonka is not under unwavering observation. Quick as an absconding scoundrel, he whips out a potion, drinks it and vanishes. With his air-walking shoes he could be anywhere, and a curious mumble, "Last time I let my brother run a mix" can be heard near a rooftop. He doesn't re-appear.

The strange machine is stuck, because it is locked and there's a sword jammed in the wheel. The guards will have a task getting it into impound. Otherwise, the plaza returns to normal.

With a few children trading candies.
