It's Variday, Rhaltaas 23 01:27:44 1019. The full moon isn't up. The tide is low and rising. A chilly wind blows from the west, driving dark clouds before it and blotting out the stars in patches overhead. The air is clear and elsewhere they glitter brightly in the dark sapphire sky.

A06: Lower Alexandrian Gardens District

Ga'Elian is strolling happily through the streets of the City heedless of the weather, and with a spring in his step. The tune he is merrily humming is currently a popular hit in Alexandria owing to a popular production currently showing at the Hope Theater.

Too many damned noises in this city - or so you might think to yourself if you frequent this section of the gardens. Fazahd appears to be one of these people, for hesits on a stone bench in theshade of a great willow, reading from a large book open in his lap.

Ga'Elian catches sight of the Reosite and alters direction to approach. He says, "Long time, no see, Fazahd. What've you been up to lately? More exploration in the tunnels?"

"Among other things," says the Inquisitor, as he looks up from his reading. "I was in Ironhold for some time, on family business. Clan politics, that sort of thing. I'm very pleased to see you, Ga'Elian. How are you? I have not seen you for some time." <sildanyari>

Ga'Elian leans against the willow tree and replies, "Oh, some of this and some of that. Actually, now that you mention home business, I might say too that of late my thoughts have bent toward my home forest. I would confer with the elders of my tribe." <sildanyari>

"I should speak with them as well," says Fazahd, frowning faintly. "One of the entrances to Morduzum lies there, as you know. I want to see what can be done to help secure that as the depths belch up more surprises." <sildanyari>

Ga'Elian looks surprised. "Truly? I was not aware that the tunnels had any other entrances, let alone one so remote. Even in this age, the Faravanilas are extremely reclusive. We who venture beyond the tribal lands are something of a peculiarity, but such threats are the responsibility of the elders." <sildanyari>

"I have heard that your elders only use the oldest tongue among your people," Fazahd says as he closes his book. The covers are iron. "I have made an intense study of Mynsandraal, and can now speak and read it with what I believe to be an ideal degree of fluency." Because of course he can. <sildanyari>

Ga'Elian says, "My, my, you ‘’are’’ full of surprises tonight. Most of my tribe are sufficiently familiar with this ancient tongue, as much of our lore is preserved in its ballads, but the elders are well proficient in several tongues of this day and time, Sildanyari, especially, and Sylvan, too." <mynsandraal>

The Inquisitor shrugs. "I labor to ensure that I am always surprising," he replies. "It was not easy to secure the information, but after my first conversation with Iadoth I elected to learn what I could about the Sil languages, as it would be necessary for our peoples to interact at length to contain whatever Mordozum belches up." <mynsandraal>

Ga'Elian says, "Ah. Iadoth. Yes, she is Sylvanori, but not of the Faravanilas, my tribe. I think I remember her saying that she passed her childhood in the Vast, at any rate not in the Perianath Woods. Was it she who taught you the ancient speech?" <sildanyari>

Fazahd shakes his head. "I learned it myself," he says. "There are many Khazad primers in the old libraries, to say nothing of the copies of linguistic samples transcripted from the ancient times when our peoples were allies." <sildanyari>

Ga'Elian says, "How very curious, and how very clever of you. Anyway, you were saying you wanted to travel to meet the elders to discuss defense from whatever might emerge from the depth of Morduzum. I believe I can arrange that, but I suspect the preliminary meeting shall need to occur in the City of Llyranost. In fact, that might afford you a wider hearing." <sildanyari>

"If you would arrange it, I would certainly be grateful," he says with a nod. "Thank you, Ga'Elian." <sildanyari>
