It's Tariday, Hattanani 24 19:08:42 1018. The full moon isn't up. The tide is low and ebbing. Everything is grey, veiled by mist. It's cool and the air feels damp. There is no wind.

A14: Llyranesi Embassy

Stepping her way into the Llyranesi embassy, Charlotte seems to look around a bit, whether the elves wanter her to or not. However, as they talk their way around her, she then realizes, out loud. "One of these days, I should learn elven." She then chuckles at herself.

Raniq is just knocking at the doorpost of an embassy official. Seeing Charlotte enter, he doffs his hat, then smirks at her comment. The elven official asks him, "Yes, young man, how may I assist you?" to which Raniq replies, "The Temple of Eluna bade me bring this message to you." He holds up a leather scroll case.

Charlotte steps to the side and bows slightly to Raniq as he makes his way in. She also bows to the elf that comes forward. "They really do make them short, don't they?"

Raniq assumes that Charlotte is referring to the elf's stature, but to be diplomatic says, "What, scroll cases? I don't know. I suppose they only have to acommodate the scrolls." He hands it over to the embassy worker with a bow, then turns to take a few steps toward the pool.

Charlotte looks at the elf...then the scroll cases. "If you say so." She says....considering she's a good two feet taller than the elf. She then turns towards Raniq and tilts her head to him. "You follow Eluna? I didn't know they had couriers."

Raniq answers, "I do, certainly. As for couriers, I suppose they send messages however it ends up being convenient for them, like most folks. Certainly, I'm no professional courier, but I was there, and the priestess happened to need the favor, so I obliged." Shifting his weight to the other foot, he says, "So, what brings you here?"

"Ah okay, you're not a formal courier, then. Probably safer that way. A professional courier just seem to be......weak." Charlotte chuckles a little bit. "I apologize, I think you're the first person I've met here that speaks trade. Charlotte van Norse from Myrrdion. A pleasure."

Raniq smiles, "Raniq Fairhair, born and raised right here in Alexandria at your service." Just then, there is movement under Raniq's cloak as the head of what looks like a white weasel or ferret pokes out. Raniq continues, "And this is Herman the Ermine. As for speaking Trade, most everyone here probably does, even if they don't like to admit it, so beware of your words."

"I haven't said anything untoward....just that they're short. Lack of height means nothing, since I've seen some lucht do some amazing things, so I imagine a swashbuckler elf would make me look foolish" Charlotte says after thinking a bit.

Raniq nods, "Even so. Well, Charlotte, it was nice to meet you, but I need to get going so I'm not late for my date with that Elunite priestess. Maybe I'll see you around sometime." He heads back to the exit.

Charlotte dips into a curtsey for Raniq. "Shall see you later then, Raniq. Enjoy your date," she says when she raises from her curtsey.
