Sendor's been down in the dumps lately, and they've been totally serious about it. Not like other minor dukedoms. Having driven away the ogres, they've been relying on Alexandria to send supplies and expertise, usually via airship. This time, they've requested something that Alexandros has a lot of expertise in --- tax collecting. The tax collector in question, a lucht named Mr Beatle, has requested the assistance of a hardy group of adventurers, because ogres and demons. So you're off on the airship, flying over Sendor by night when...

"SHE CANNAE HOLD IT ANY LONGER CAP'N!" screams a kazahd engineer from the depths. Not exactly comforting words.

<OOC> Iadoth boom.

Alik sighs. "Should not have trusted on-site engineers. Always check engines yourself," he mutters, preparing for a crash.

GAME: Alik refreshes spells.

Somewhere down the airship, where the yell of the engineer can be heard, another, vaguely Aesir-like voice roars out:

"NOT *AGAIN*!"

Jokul is really starting to dislike flying.

"Well." Fazahd heaves a sigh, and proceeds down into the airship to help affect repairs. Quickly. Because crashing seems imminent.

Raethon doesn't really seem to mind flying. Considering that one of his backup spells is....fly. So....with that announcement, Raethon takes off.

Goddamn wizards....

There is a large resounding *CLUNK* from the port engine, and then from the starboard engine. Those accustomed to flying will recognise this as a bad sign. The ship is drifting downwards, maintaining its speed but also constantly falling.

"AH CRAP!" comes the cry from the bridge. "We're just over Versis, too! This is the worst place to crash!"

Alik seems torn. On the one hand, he could levitate after Raethon. On the other hand, he could help Fazahd try to fix the engines. Ultimately he flips a coin and follows Fazahd. "It is not long before we are touching ground," he observes.

GAME: Jokul rolls initiative: 13 + 3 = 16
GAME: Alik rolls initiative: 2 + 5 = 7

Raethon shakes his head as he flies around to the back of the ship......to see what's wrong with it. Not that he can help, he knows very little about engineering. Nothing, to be precise. he flies back towards the deck of the airship and lands rather expertly. "I couldn't see anything, but then I don't know what I'm looking at.

<OOC> Raethon says, "do we init? or was that a goof?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "+init'ing would be a sound plan, really."
GAME: Raethon rolls initiative: 18 + 7 = 25
<OOC> Raethon says, "K."
<OOC> Iadoth didn't totally intend to do it, but it's not a problem,
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+14: (18)+14: 32
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Rae, can I have a Perception check please? And from anyone else on the bridge."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "/deck."
GAME: Raethon rolls perception: (7)+10: 17
GAME: Jokul rolls perception: (1)+6: 7 (EPIC FAIL)
<OOC> Jokul says, "GUYS LOOK"
<OOC> Jokul says, "CLOUDS"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Fair enough, it's night-time."
<OOC> Alik went down to Engineland with Fozzie
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. I will deal with engines first, because I'm an engineer."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So, I need Knowledge, Craft or Perception rolls to diagnose the engine problems."
<OOC> Alik says, "making some rolls..."
GAME: Alik rolls knowledge/engineering: (19)+10: 29
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That's a good one."
GAME: Alik rolls craft/artifice: (13)+12: 25
GAME: Alik rolls perception: (3)+15: 18
<OOC> Iadoth oops, meant Profession rather than Perception. But you succeeded anyway.
<OOC> Alik says, "Ah"
<OOC> Alik says, "Oh look, it's an engine room!"
<OOC> Alik says, "That's reassuring."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It transpires that the Magnet Conveyor Matrix that's broken, if you'd like to pose that."
<OOC> Fazahd says, "I'm sorry, I had some issues."
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Back."
<OOC> Iadoth listens to baby monitor, may be about to experience issues.
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Dun dunnnn."
<OOC> Iadoth hmm, back to sleep?
GAME: Fazahd refreshes spells.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "The stale spells were all that was keeping him connected."

Alikscans the machinery with a scowl, then grunts. "Bah. See there," he says to nobody in particular, pointing towards an assortment of magnetized ribbons fed through a complex arrangement of anchor pins, "misaligned. Tension poorly distributed. Stress disproportional. Need to replace Matrix central belt. You have replacement, yes?" he demands of the engineers.

"No," the kazhad replies. "I integrated our spare into the Aura Inducer Network, last service. I didn't have time to pull out a new one just yet. Can't you do something?"

<OOC> Iadoth will need a Craft roll for the repair. Can use the Craft/Artifice roll if you like.

Alik spits on the floor in disgust. "Yes, of course not, too simple if have proper tool. Well. Doing what is possible to do, then. Reallocate pin distribution. Probably not work, but is something." He jogs over to the Magnet Conveyor Matrix and starts fiddling.

GAME: Alik rolls craft/artifice: (8)+12: 20
GAME: Iadoth rolls 2d54: (65): 65
<OOC> Iadoth growls.
GAME: Iadoth rolls 2d4: (5): 5
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That's gonna take 5 rounds, then."
<OOC> Alik says, "Can Fazahd help?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Of course. If Faz can make 10 on his roll, he can Aid Another for +2. If you have masterwork artifice tools, you can have an extra +2. That's not really enough to beat the DC by 5 or more, though, so it'll still take 2d4 rounds."
<OOC> Alik nods.
GAME: Iadoth rolls 6d6: (18): 18

The tinkering seems to work, and after thirty seconds, the engines come juddering back into life.

Up on the deck...

<OOC> Jokul says, "MEANWHILE, THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So, your Perception checks failed..."
GAME: You roll initiative for ShDe: Roll: 20 + Bonus: 8 = Total: 28
<OOC> Iadoth says, "whoa."
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 28.
It is now ShDe's turn! Raethon is next!

"Ba-ha!" Alik exults. "Yes. You are good machine, _want_ to fly, yes? Just need encouraging. Yes. Good machine..." he croons.

<OOC> Jokul says, "The fact that you open up with that does not fill me with confidence."
<OOC> Alik says, "It should!"
<OOC> Alik says, "Just, you know, not confidence of anything good.""

Around Jokul and Raethon, and in the dim light of the deck gaslamps, shadowy black tentacles seem to rise from the floor, reaching for the wizard and the swordsman...

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Can I have a Will save please?"
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Dammit"
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Okay I'm here"
<OOC> Alik waves
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Had to reset the router. Babby getting things he shouldn't downstairs"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oops."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "No worries Faz."
<OOC> Alik says, "Alik is fixing the engine, will take 4 rounds, fight going on on deck."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Alik, Faz, I'm considering the engine fixed. You're free to leave the engine room from this point."
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Okay."
<OOC> Alik says, "Ah, OK. Cool."
<OOC> Fazahd runs upstairs, thumps fools.
<OOC> Iadoth will consider that to be one round worth of action.
<OOC> Raethon will brb
<OOC> Iadoth arrr. Jokul, can I have a Will save please?
<OOC> Alik will do so when his init phase rolls around. :-)
GAME: Fazahd rolls initiative: 19 + 2 = 21
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Doot"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Also, whoops! Can I scratch that last pose?"
<OOC> Alik coughs. You're the DM here, Iad... you can do whatever you like! :-) But it's OK with me.

Around Jokul and Raethon, and in the dim light of the deck gaslamps, a shadowy swarm of screeching monkeys appears, grabbing and grasping at everything upon which they can get their hands from the two adventurers!

<OOC> Iadoth will still require that Will save from Rae and Jokul.
<OOC> Jokul says, "Gah sorry"
GAME: Jokul rolls Will: (10)+3: 13
<OOC> Jokul says, "Poo."
<OOC> Jokul says, "This isn't a fear-related save, is it? <.<"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "THOSE ARE REAL MONKEYS ALRIGHT."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "No, it's not. It's a shadow conjuration disbelief save."
<OOC> Jokul says, "D:"
<OOC> Iadoth yarr.
<OOC> Iadoth loves this spell.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh, wait. Yeah I'd need to be somewhat closer to pull that off. It's now the next round, so Fazahd and Alik, you're on the deck too."
<OOC> Alik says, "So Will saves from us too?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "So... make your Will saves too?"
<OOC> Alik nods. THis is illusion, so gnomish +2 bonus applies?
GAME: Fazahd rolls 1d20+8: (13)+8: 21
<OOC> Fazahd disbelieves.
GAME: Alik rolls will+2: (3)+3+2: 8
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yeah, you don't believe those to be real monkeys. They're just shadows! They can't hurt you!"
<OOC> Alik says, "Oh look! Monkeys!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Not so much you, Alik."
<OOC> Alik nods. Bad gnome. No biscuit.
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.
      Round One - Init 25.
It is now Raethon's turn! Fazahd is next!
GAME: Note Flat-footed on Raethon ended.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "... that's frustrating."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh wait! I guess the monkeys can act this round too."
<OOC> Alik says, "Sure, but can they dance and sing too?"

The screeching, swarming monkeys leap up on Jokul and try to take his mighty SWORD! Others scratch and claw at him, trying to get through the thick armour.

<OOC> Jokul says, "WHAT MY SWORD"
<OOC> Jokul says, "HOW DARE THEy"
GAME: Iadoth rolls 1d20+10+4: (2)+10+4: 16
<OOC> Raethon returns.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "What's your CMD?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Rae, can I have a Will save?"
GAME: Raethon rolls will: (20)+8: 28 (CRITICAL SUCCESS)
<OOC> Jokul says, "24"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Those are not real monkeys, they are shadows."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, you're okay not to lose your sword. But you do take swarm damage..."

<OOC> Jokul says, "AAAAWWWW HELL NAW"
<OOC> Raethon says, "Sorry about the delay, Iadoth."
<OOC> Alik says, "Monkey-poop!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Give me a Fortitude save!"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, that is."
GAME: Jokul rolls fortitude: (15)+8: 23
<OOC> Iadoth says, "No worries, Rae."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh, you're okay then."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Would anybody be standing within 10 feet of Jokul on the deck? You have a choice here."
<OOC> Alik says, "I'll say No... ranged fighter and arrived later."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay. Rae, Faz?"
<OOC> Raethon says, "hmm?"
<OOC> Raethon was waiting for Jokul to finish his turn.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Are you standing next to Jokul?"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul's not having a turn, it's just the monkeys beating him up."
<OOC> Raethon shakes head. "uh uh. I have his back....but way back.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Cool. I'll assume the same for Faz as Alik, too."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Raethon, it's your turn now."
<OOC> Raethon says, "oooooookay."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "All you can see are shadowy monkeys which you know not to be real. But they're trying to steal Jokul's SWORD and also they're scratching him up badly."
<OOC> Jokul says, "NOT MAH SWORD"
<OOC> Raethon doesn't think an area dispel would work on the monkeys...
<OOC> Raethon says, "test"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "You're still there. I don't know about an area dispel."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "It is an Illusion (shadow) effect emulating a Conjuration (summoning) spell."
<OOC> Raethon says, "Area dispel isn't granted on the normal dispel magic."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay."
<OOC> Raethon can I target dispel the whole group?
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yes, I think so --- it's a spell."
<OOC> Raethon says, "K. I'll try it."
<OOC> Iadoth hmm. Wife home early.

<OOC> Raethon was looking at how I would roll this.
GAME: Raethon rolls 1d20+6: (10)+6: 16
<OOC> Raethon says, "newp."
<OOC> Raethon says, "well blast."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "'Fraid not."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "However..."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "If you communicate that it's an illusion to Jokul, I guess I can grant him another saving throw with a +4 bonus. As per the Illusion school rules."
<OOC> Raethon says, "K."
<OOC> Raethon says, "that's my turn anyways."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Speech is a free action?"

Rae stays out of reach of Jokul. That's what the buffer does. The monkeys, however, look odd to Rae....and he squints. "JOKUL! THEY'RE ILLUSIONS! THEY'RE ILLUSIONS!" He says as he tries to dispel them all at once.....but it doesn't seem to work.....

<OOC> Raethon considers it part of his turn. :D
<OOC> Alik says, "First ammendment rights!"
<OOC> Fazahd says, "For the adventurers, by the adventurers, etc."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yarr."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, have another Will save, with a +4 bonus."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Faz, watchagonnado?"

GAME: Alik rolls will+4+2: (14)+3+4+2: 23
<OOC> Iadoth says, "That'll do."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Illusory monkeys. Blah blah blah."

Alik blinks. "Oh. Are illusions, not monkeys." He nods and goes on about his business.

<OOC> Fazahd will look elsewhere, maybe I can see where it's coming from.
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Perception, I suppose. Also I'll cast a spell."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Okay! A Perception check please."
GAME: Fazahd rolls perception: (2)+10: 12
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Der"
GAME: Fazahd casts Shield of Faith. Caster Level: 5 DC: 14
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Yeah, I mean the DC is like 38, so that's a bit extreme."
<OOC> Iadoth thinks that at 22:51, it might be time to call it a night. Sorry folks.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Actually I anticipated having a little more time. What kind of times might folks be available for a rematch?"

Ah, monkeys, and Fazahd without his armor. As the others struggle with the illusory creatures, the priest instead grasps the seal of the Forgefather around his neck and murmurs a hurried prayer in Khazdul as he runs to the edge of the ship, perhaps to see from whence the strike came.

<OOC> Fazahd says, "Monday. I'll hopefully be better tomorrow and need to do housework."
<OOC> Jokul whenever.
<OOC> Iadoth will reschedule for another night, maybe next week sometime.
<OOC> Alik says, "Monday afternoon or evening, I think. Ditto tomorrow."
<OOC> Alik says, "Booked Tue/Thu"
<OOC> Alik says, "Free Wed, earlier=better"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Maybe Wednesday; will check schedule. Also if anyone's online daytime then, okay."
<OOC> Raethon will be free wednesday, Iadoth.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Thanks for dropping by folks, sorry I couldn't finish what I started."
<OOC> Raethon says, "it's okie. RL happens."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Also think about the following: You're over Versis, and that was a Shadow Conjuration."
<OOC> Alik says, "Daytime Wed works. And yay running a thing!"

<OOC> Fazahd is gonna detect evil.

Fazahd pages: Detect Alignment (Sp): At will, an inquisitor can use detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, or detect law. She can only use one of these at any given time.

<OOC> Alik says, "Geez, isn't that a little extreme for a fussy baby?"
<OOC> Jokul says, "Have you met babies?"

<OOC> Fazahd says, "I love my son! He is now a toddler, however, and that means drama."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Wife on phone."

"HEY! I just said--" Jokul yells out over to Alik's general direction when the death ray goes off-- and he just *groans*. "Oh whatever! Look, there's SOMETHING HERE!" ... And just to demonstrate what 'here' is, he goes runnig towards the edge of the deck, and brings his SWORD! swinging over the railing and... through the darkness? Maybe? The sharp, metallic sound that echoes through the air with it, though, does suggest that there actually IS something there, however.

<OOC> Alik says, "Heard you. Just didn't believe you. :-)"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Sorry."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Back."
Raethon has connected.

You paged Fazahd with 'There's a faint evil aura out there, in the direction you're looking.' From afar, Fazahd will...KEEP LOOKING. Until I pinpoint. Fazahd pages: And also cast Shield.

<OOC> Fazahd says, "Yes sorry posing"

"It's an illusion! Something is out there, casting these images at us." Fazahd sounds...well, he sounds angry. The Reosian stares upward into the sky, all the while touching a control on his gauntlet; steel rods project from his pauldrons, conjuring with a network of thin rays a disc of amber force that stays in front of him even as the rods retract again.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Arrr."

GAME: Alik rolls 4d6+3+1: (17)+3+1: 21
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Zap."
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Could have been much worse, though!"

Alik redirects his theramin-like deathray in the general direction of the something that frosted his buddy. Unexpectedly, the set of multicolored sparks that fly up and down the length of the rods brighten and make a decidedly unmusical set of sounds before letting loose with a powerful white lightning-like burst that strikes the creature and corruscates over its ephemeral surface. He nods approvingly and replaces a burned-out fuse.

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Hmm. I also note that the creature in question is, ahem, immune to electricity."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Sorry about that."
<OOC> Alik sighs
GAME: Iadoth advances the initiative order.

You paged Fazahd with 'Are you maintaining concentration on your Detect SLA?'

GAME: Alik spends ONE use of DEATH RAY.

Fazahd pages: Well, I can see the thing, right? You paged Fazahd with 'Oh, yes. You can.'

Alik notices, once the lightshow is over, that this seems to have had no effect whatsoever on the creature. "Bah," he mutters, putting his death ray away, "is wrong tool."

From afar, Fazahd will blast it with an acid death ray. You paged Fazahd with 'Gotcha.' From afar, Fazahd also uses a Judgement: Resistance, which gives me 2 points of energy resistance against a type. This time it's cold.

<OOC> Fazahd acidifies it.
GAME: Fazahd rolls 1d20+6: (1)+6: 7

<OOC> Jokul says, "Someone give me a potion of flying <.<"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "DO NOT LET JOKUL FLY."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "He will be unstoppable."

"I see it!" Fazahd pulls the rifle from his pack, and opens fire on the thing with his ornate musket; the crystals down its barrel glow with a hideous green light, and a lance of smoking chemicals hiss from its end. Or...don't, really. Instead, it fires wildly to the right, projecting almost at a right angle from the muzzle, taking out a chunk of the airship's railing. Ever see wood melt like wax? YOU WILL.

"Damnation," Fazahd shouts, banging on the weapon with a gauntlet. "The prism must have gotten out of alignment! Father, do not let me die a stupid death because of a misalignment on my part!"

Simple enough request, but...weirdly enough, Fazahd's words seem to have almost physical force when he uses them. Priests, am I right?

<OOC> Fazahd says, "Like wax in a bonfire. Whatever."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Lulz."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Jokul, watcha gonna do?"
<OOC> Alik says, "And it worked! At least, Faz isn't dead yet."
<OOC> Fazahd, worst Inquisitor ever.

Jokul recoils from the TOUCH OF DEATH, initially, with the full inclusion of him bringing his sword up in front of him like he's trying to use it as a makeshift shield.

A whole lot of good that does against incorporeal attacks, though, right?

"HEY! COME BACK HERE!" He roars out after the being, though, even while the chilling pain is still stinging through his bones. "WIGGLEFINGERS!" Is what he roars right after over his shoulder. "Tell me you have something that gets me to that thing!"

<OOC> Jokul says, "<.<"
<OOC> Iadoth thinks of the fight in FF6 against that f---ing octupus.

Walking his way forward, Rae taps Jokul with his staff between his shoulder blades, then mutters a few words that Jokul won't understand. "Get after the ghost Jokul. "Knock him down."

<OOC> Fazahd says, "Make it smelly"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "How does one cast defensively?"

"*Can do*." Jokul's expression is WAY TOO GLEEFUL considering the situation. But then again, he can apparently fly now. Which he takes advantage of immediately by leaping over the railing and sweeping through the air towards the Shade, spinning along his own axis through his own arc towards his target, and--

...And....

The sword goes swishing way above the figure, and Jokul goes spinning on further past by a few feet, and almost goes into a completely uncontrolled spin along before he rights himself. "WHoa! Whoa, whoa! ...I'm okay! I'm okay."

So flying is a really new thing for him.

<OOC> Iadoth ought to make you drop your SWORD.
<OOC> Raethon shall brb

The shadowy flying thing is now next to Jokul, a situation it clearly finds distasteful. It shrinks back slightly, as if drawing in breath...

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Raethin?"

"I'll find him," barks Fazahd from the deck of the ship, sighting around the windy night with his rifle as he does so - and also as he does so, he mutters in Khazdul a prayer of blessing for you all; the Father's with you, you can feel it in your weapons and your armor. Death is coming for it, with Papa Rao's help.

With the sloppiness of someone not experienced to the skill of flight, the Aesir manages to turn himself upright, and narrows his eyes at the seemingly empty space in front of him while his sword rises up high. Draw patterns in the mind. Grids. Grids that the giant sword follows right after, slashing through the air three times over in quick, fierce motions of trajectory meant to lessen the amount of space where his opponent CAN'T be hit. Not that he has any idea if any of those actually hit, but he's just trying to take the word of his companion.

That goes for when he's warned about the thing's retreat, too, even if he growls out, "Moving away WHERE?!" after that warning. STill, that does earn a desperate slash through the air, too. HE's just

<OOC> Iadoth says, "This is a bit late to ask this, but is your SWORD Cold Iron?"
<OOC> Jokul says, "............................. no <.<"
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Oh goody."

Fazahd pages: WELP

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Or, good-aligned?"

Jokul is starting to get the distinct feeling that he is getting pummeled at the exact same rate that he is pummeling the shade. If you can call the kind of attacks he's getting hit with 'pummeling', anyway, but that's besides the point. Still-- weaker as he is getting from it all, he persists on stubbornly, to the point that when the shade backs away, his reaction is to roar out "HEY!" in annoyance and hover after the thing. "NOT THIS TIME!"

This time, he drops his feet down onto the deck, since he is still more used to fighting with his feet... well, on solid ground, and duly stomps forward with his sword initially kept low, but carried by the motion to be sent off into a violent upward-diagonal swing through the ephemereal, glittery creature, and then down again all over with an even more fierce downward slash, and again once more with a horizontal -- though that last one goes wide. "Go... Down... Already!"

<OOC> Jokul says, "Not *yet*."
<OOC> Jokul says, "Ask me again like 26rpp from now <.<"

Surprisingly, the demon seems to ... listen? of sorts to Jokul. The slightly magickal weapon slams into it again, and the dark seems to go out of its eyes. Whatever that means. It begins to fall, fall, fall away, towards Versis, far away...

After a few moments, the light on the deck returns to normal. It would seem that the thing has become an ex-thing.

<OOC> Fazahd says, "I really hope I killed that goddamned thing later, at Versis."
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Annoying, that. I should have Magic Jar'ed someone."

<OOC> Iadoth says, "Do you guys wanna pose out? I will put up the log and +request tomorrow."
<OOC> Raethon could, sure.
<OOC> Iadoth says, "Or rather, later today."
<OOC> Iadoth groans.

"...well, that was exciting." Faz says the words, but he sounds angry about it - far angrier than one may remember him sounding in the past. Even monsters trying to kill him don't usually made him sound as if he were speaking through a mouth of foam. He strides to the railing and looks over the deck toward where the thing fell, toward Versis...and fate will lead him there.

Raethon watches as the ghost just goes.....poof. "Once again you prove your worth with a sword, Jokul. Well done. the frogs shall sing of the condition you gave this ghost when it assaulted us."

With the shadow - of sorts - falling away, Jokul grounds himself properly on the deck. Whicch is to say, he sets this sword point-down against the deck, and wraps both his arms along the weapon with a heavy, panting breath let out.

"...Well," he grunts, with a lopsided smile. "That was fun." One hand lifts up slightly, to the general direction of Raethon, and he yells towards the wizard, "Thanks for the spell! Flying is GREAT."

"Also I think I need to sit down. Everything hurts."

Raethon says, "yeah. that's one thing about the fly spell. You use muscles you've never used before to guide your body in flight. Your everything is going to be sore for a few hours.""

The airship crew thank you profusely for your invaluable assistance in defusing the situation. With the Phase Matrix Conveyancer replaced and working, thanks to the artificers present, the vessel is able to accelerate again, pulling itself away from the dangerous area around Versis, where worlds bleed into one another.

When they land, the tax collector thanks you all once again, and gives you a special tax code that will make your purchase of consumables from Ralickwort's Arcane Labworks passable as charitable donations.

<OOC> Jokul says, "Best. Reward. Ever."
<OOC> Fazahd says, "Well all right then."
