Ma Rosie's Gambling House: Itzpapalotl, Darius, Erakirak and Serraphine have held the line versus the wights so far, their numbers having been thinned by the damaged BLudguni delegation.

The darknes that was cast into the room seems to've faded as well. There are still some present but far less than there were.

Vaalyun and Razen have been running, with VAalyun having fallen behind while under heavy attack from the wights. Razen has kept running for the time being.

Edinaz, after discovering numerous guards dead and transforming into wights in front of him, is running the hell back to the inn.

Erakirak fires, hoping to put out another one of the wights. He injures one, at least

Razen runs as quickly as he can, still ignoring the creatures following in favor of getting the man he's carrying to safety. Afterwards... well then he can lay into the things as much as he wants.

The wights are chasing right after Razen, but others have tackled onto Vaalyun and are trying to take his life essence.

So far, they have not succeeded. Others are catching to bypass him in their pursuit of Razen.

Razen curls around the man he is protecting and runs even faster if that's possible.

Several wights are trying to bring down the armored warrior. Another lunges towards Erakirak, smashing into him with a fist and leaving him looking winded as the life energy is sucked out from him.

Yikes~!

It was good that Darius had the opportunity to set himself, as being surrounded made him focus harder and he slices true. The first wight is nearly cut in half, the one next to it DEFINITELY is in a shower of gore and Darius smirks, "Eat forged steel!"

GAME: Serraphine rolls 1d10+4: (7)+4: 11

Serraphine cuts down with her long sword, her cut missing before she reverses the blow and catches the wight along the gut. "Where are you hiding the Rainbow Dragon?!" She demands the wight to give up its information - though she has a sinking feeling that this question will never be answered by so loyal a servant.

For his part, Edinaz is still running back to Ma Rosie's because AHHHHH WIGHTS.

Vaalyun is up to his prayer beads in wights, several of them grappling with him, managing to get around the shield and grab onto the armor beneath. He calls out once more in Celestial, and Althea grants him her power, a wave of starlight energy flowing forth in a bubble in every direction. Two of the wights can no longer stand the holy power, and dissolve into pools of corruption.

Some of the wights have bypasses Vaalyun's prone form to chase after Razen! He is the target, it would seem, and they are eager to get after him!

Like something is driving them...

Razen keeps running as if his life depends on it. Which a life does.

To Razen's eyes, the stern exterior of the soldier's defense is now in view, alight with all manner of activity as it always is!

Several wights have been destroyed now, actually. And the ogres are no longer holding the doors since it doesn't seem necessary. With them wading into the fight, alongside the gobbers and Arveks, the situation is improving rapidly. That doesn't stop the flow trying to push past Serraphine in the back, though, or those who're near Darius, from trying their luck. One even hits him, leaving him weakened.

The touch of the wight makes him feel cold and weak all over, but not weak enough to turn and slash the one that hit him down and take another with it. It's given him some breathing space at least for the moment.

Razen runs up to the gate yelling. "HEY! We've got INJURED here!" He bangs on the gate once as he goes by it and half-tosses the poor previously-posioned man inside the temple. Then he grins.

Vaalyun still has one wight on him, and he growls, "Star Mother's name, get OFF me!" He channels energy through his holy symbol again and presses it almost directly into the face of the last wight, sending it screaming back to whatever hell it came from. He gets to his feet, and shouts, "Look out! More coming! Something must be controlling them, or they would never run past me!"

Vaalyun takes off running towards the Soldier's Defense. He stops and extends his holy symbol, launching a ray of sunlight towards one of the wights that had run past him. Unfortunately, he's not used to any sort of shooting - bows and spells both - and his aim is just far enough off that he misses his target.

Indeed. The wights are chasing after Razen, who has a considerable lead on them at this point.

That said, as Razen throws the injured man through the gate, several people come out to ask what's going on and, indeed, see the one shambling, hissing wight that's close enough to see.

"RAISE THE ALARM!"

Indeed, more alarms. The ones in Goblintown are bad enough, but the Soldier's defense, well..

... it has at least a few paladins playing defense, not ot mention priests whose undead-smiting abilities are starting to itch. It is not exactly what we'd call a 'soft target' for the undead.

Only a couple are left at this point.

As soon as the alarm sounds Razen turns with his grin splitting his face and lets loose a roar of rage. He then charges the undead things, swinging his heavy flail hard and killing one with a single blow.

Vaalyun continues towards the Soldier's Defense. Slowly. Stolidly. Clank-clank-clanking along in heavy armor. He's getting there, but he ain't getting there fast.

Razen charges off after the wights, waving his weapon after then and yelling. "COWARDS! COME FACE ME!"

GAME: Darius rolls weapon1+2-1: (1)+8+2+-1: 10 (EPIC FAIL)

Darius, seeing the last wight, glares and roars and charges it. But before he can reach and end it's miserable existence, he slips on a pool of blood and ale and completely misses the thing.

Serraphine squints at the last wight. Squints because it has just convinced Darius to slip and fall she's pretty sure. But that's not all she does, no she also swings in a wide and swooping miss before bringing it back in a stroke to cut off its head. "RAINBOW DRAGON! I'VE KILLED THE LAST OF YOUR SERVANTS! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

... there is no call from the 'Rainbow dragon'.

However, the Goblin District has sirens roaring, and they are being answered elsewhere in the city. The whole damn city is being called to alarm, it seems.

Outside, more wights are true to Edinaz's prediction. They crash into the door, but really, now that you've had time to prepare, and guards are beginning to awaken and the actual military is on the move, not to mention airships being launched into the sky from the airstation, this is rapidly spiralling into more than just 'an attempted assassination'.

What else could happen tonight?
