The tavern butts up against the Arena walls--at every score, every victory, its walls shake with the often thund'rous responses of the crowd. The tavern here is large and domed, though the windows are by wisdom, bricked in, and tables nailed to the floor. Or welded. The furniture is thick and heavy. The food, though, changes every week or so to something odd, unusual, or fickle, and the small stage here is the most oft-used outside of the theatre district.

This as much as anything is the tavern's calling-card, as well as the stories told that by tradition, only become grander with the retelling. An aged half-sildanyari, her shoulders scarred as much as her face, oversees the bar and it's said she's never cracked a smile in thirty years. Her partner, a smallish gnome in Tarien's brilliant hues (and often soaked by ale-spots), appears to do most of it for her. The bar itself is carved in the shape of some serpent that Tarien is said to have tricked ages past, and stolen the secret of flight from before gifting it to the birds. It lies there, its expression surprised as though not have expecting anyone to have been half so clever.

The beer and ale are modestly priced, though what's available changes with the menu and what merchants might bring in from various parts of the world. A drink known as the "Fire Bird's Brew," a dedication to Angoron's declared love for Ceinara, is always available, however, and is the one constant. The cuisine is, as always, unique and changing, a part of the greater world.

GAME: You invite Rhar to join you. Offer will expire in two minutes.

Rhar has arrived.

The night has finally come for the much anticipated party at Steel Von IronBrew's, Bane of Sobriety! Of course, every night is a party at Steel Von IronBrew's. But tonight's promises to be louder and more ridiculous than ever. As the first guests start to arrive, Jibbom is already doing his best to kick things off. He scampers along the surface of the bar, distributing free drinks with gleeful, wild abandon.

"Oh I simply love the outfit. ...where did you get it?" Abrahil asks, his tone gosipy as he walks alongside a smallish, somewhat warty figure. The figure replies in a sort of croaking voice, and whatever it is, the round little gnome looks just delighted...before looking up and waving cheerfully towards Jibbom. "Oooh, Jibbom! There you are! Why, I love what you've done with the place!"

Tatyannah grabs one of the drinks and goes to find a table. She stares at the people sitting there already and simply says, "Move. Now." That she is putting her hand on one of the hilts of her many, many weapons is coincidence, surely.

Yngvild is dressed in her finest drinking clothes. Which are pretty much the same as her finest vestments. Leather and rugged cloth in colours of her deity. She has a broad grin on her face and her favourite drinking horn at her belt. And in case things get rowdy, or because she is far too attached to it her earthbreaker is over one shoulder. She stomps in with her usual heavy tread and looks around for the promised booze.

Te'Andra has arrived.

Godwyn enters just behind Yngvild... in something that's a bit more elaborate than what she's usually seen wearing. A dress in royal blue with silver accents in places, and her hair in a braid instead of a pony tail. She beams at the festive atmosphere. "You know, it's been a while since I've been down here, Yng."

"Drink! Drink much!" come the shouts as Rhar bounds inside. In her finest furs. Which are exactly the same as her unfinest furs. Gurr sits outside. Since one energetic wolfling is enough for him.

Te'Andra ducks into the bar, nodding to Rhar, as she remembers her from the bridge. "I will spot you the first ale" she says to the Wolfling, as she seems to harbor positive feelings for her. Or wants her distracted.

"Oh, it's lovely, isn't it? And oh! Oh! There you are...Yngvild, this is George," Abrahil says cheerfully to Angoron's Warrior. The poor 'George' looks a bit frog-like...or slightly smooshed, as though a child had taken two play-doh halves and made a face out of it. Abrahil beams though, and pats his friend on the arm, before adjusting his lenses. "Oh! Oh dear...why so serious, s--m'dear?" to Tatyannah.

Laoise has arrived.

Yngvild turns around and looks down at Godwyn, her brows drawing together "Yngvild" she corrects in a low rumble, although there is only the faintest of frowns touching her broad face "Next time don't wear anything fancy" she advises whilst neatly dodging someone who started early and is turning a nasty green colour on his way outside. For her own part she heads towards the nearest place to fill her horn. She nods to Abrahil and offera smile to him and 'George' "Blessings upon you" she offers then accepots her filled horn back. Lifting it up she drains it to the dregs in one long swallow, the motion seemingly well practiced.

GAME: Yngvild rolls fortitude: (7)+8: 15

"Thank you, trusted associate!" Jibbom booms to Abrahil. "This place shall long serve as a mighty bastion against the scourges of sobriety and common sense!" His grin grows even wider when Rhar makes her entrance. "Ah! The Baness of Night has arrived! Truly it would not be a legendary party without her grace and sophistication!"

Free booze.. FREE BOOZE.. Not that Bahken drinks to excess but.. free booze! He steps in sipping some cidery concoction that's sweet and surprisingly strong. He looks over the merry making quietly, eying Jibbom himself.. this MIGHT just make up for their little prank on Angoron's day or whatever that was.

Godwyn pouts. "Okay, fine. No nicknames yet." She makes for the seat just next to her, taking a mug for herself before sitting down. "Mmmm... I'm glad to be back home after that deal in the Desolation. And to a party, no less." She glances down at her dress. "Mind you, if I could find my coat and leathers, I'd wear those." With a shrug, she tips her mug back.

GAME: Godwyn rolls Fort: (9)+14: 23

Free booze is even enough to bring Sandy here. She slinks inside and has herself a seat, kicking her feet up. Peple just make room for her, of course.

(She looks like she's in a foul mood. When doesn't she?)

GAME: Sandy rolls Fort: (15)+16: 31

Tatyannah glances sidelong at Abrahil, "Who is serious?" She looks back at the table and smiles and her hands haven't. "Shoo."

"Ribbit," says George, his eyes slightly unfocused...as he then schlorps off towards the bar. He really does schlorp...walking in a swaying, uncertain way. He bumps into one of the tables, and sends it sliding a few inches, before making his way past.

At Jibbom's praise, Abrahil smiles warmly. He gives the lucht a little wave, and then a bigger one to the Lady Rhar. "Oh, hellooo!" He rushes over to give her a hug.

"Common sense?" rumbles Yngvild as if the two words were some kind of strange and foreign language. Always comforting in a six and a half foot Aesir with a giant hammer. Either way she fills her horn again and offers a salute to Jibbom "To our host. He may be more full of shit that a siege privy but he is never ever boring" he booms then drains her drinking horn again.

GAME: Yngvild rolls fortitude: (8)+8: 16

"Uh oh. I think Tatyannah needs more alcohol," says Sandy with a snort.SShe's got her free booze and she's already enjoying it. Abrahil is given an eyeballing. "Where's the older gentelman?" She asks the gnome.

"Hi!" Rhar shows off that grace as she bounds straight for Jibbom. "Cyootie" He's used to being a living missile and hitting things. This time he's the destinatarget! Bound, bound, chair, table, bartop, pouncing wolfhug!

Te'Andra grabs an ale as Yngvild does, and smiles, taking a deep draft. She seems to be willing to go along with things. "To the finer things in life"

A SOPHISTICATED pouncing wolfhug, even.

GAME: Te'Andra rolls fort: (5)+2: 7

Laoise is here. It's unsure when she got here, but she's - especially compared to the rather more ostentatious Jibbom - one of those more easy to overlook smallfolk. She's currently engaging in smalltalk with a human who's committing the ultimate faux pas in talking to short people: leaning down so much he's practically sitting on his haunches, to "bring himself to her level". The blonde Lucht is shooting glances here and there with a clear air of someone trying to spot a familiar face to save her, while the man seems oblivious. Or drunk. Or both.

Tatyannah jabs Sandy in the ribs with an elbow. "Shut up." She goes to plop down with Sandy, managing not to spill her drink. "I can always blame Tarien. You, what's your excuse for looking so bitchy?"

GAME: Bahken rolls fort: (17)+4: 21

Godwyn lifts her drink to that toast, with no response but to take another. She sighs and leans back in her seat. "So how do we stop him from going on with one of his half-true, long-winded stories? One of our own?" She glances toward Yngvild. "I'm sure you have a few."

GAME: Godwyn rolls Fortitude: (4)+14: 18

"Oh! Oh how lovely!" Abrahil stops where he is to admire the couple. He could have tears in his eyes, or shimmering stars. He reaches for a handkerchief, and daubs beneath his lenses...before making a noisy HOOOONK!

"Wheeeeee!" Luckily for Godwyn, Jibbom is very quickly distracted by the bounding Rhar headed for him. Despite being nearly knocked right off the bar, he seems perfectly happy with the enthusiatic wolfhug. "My wife! Always as delightful as she is elegant!"

Hopefully not in reply to Godwyn Yngvild lets out a thunderous belch that threatens to shake the rafter "Pardon me" she says then glances sidelong to Godwyn. She shrugs her heavy shoulders, peering somewhat mournfully into her empty drinking horn "Never been one for story-tellin" she admits with another small shrug "Speak with my actions, leave the words for the skalds aye?" With that she gets her vessel filled and sips this time on her way over to a seat that looks likely to bear her weight and dropping down onto it.

"Oh come on, I'm sure you have the flair for it. Certainly the voice!" Godwyn chuckles as Yngvild finds another seat to sit in, one more suitable. Still, as long as she's in hearing range... "You know, those two are actually cute together."

Te'Andra staggers after she takes a drink, and settles down into a chair, bench, whatever. Seems she shouldn't have guzzled that fast. "Wow!" she exclaims, the world whirling about her slightly. "Potent!"

"Oh, how lovely you both look! Why..." Abrahil stands back for a moment...his hands clasped. He looks as though he needs to daub at his eyes again. He just does. It's such a beautiful moment.

Yngvild having sat down at last seems content to sit back and sip her third drink in silence for a few moments before she is addressed again "Hrmm?" she says as she lowers the horn down and wipes some foam from her mouth with the back of her hand. Catching Te'Andra before the other woman ends up on the floor she booms her loud laugh "Wouldn't have figured you for a one horn screamer" she teases in a sotto voice. That caries through half the bar with her projection and volume.

EYeballing Abrahil for a long moment, Sandy then answers Tatyannah. She eyes her alcohol for a moment, then says to her, "I always look this way. Always. But I understand you're wanted for murder these days. At least in Dran. I figured that had something to do with it." She galnces towards Te'Andra, briefly, then spots Laoise. Barely. She's short enough to be easy to miss!

Bahken takes another sip watching Yngvild go through her third. His gaze shifts back over the other drinkers as he leans towards the bar, "Anything to eat?!" he tries to yell to the 'tender over the sounds of the party.

Laoise has disconnected.

Tatyannah snorts, "Please. The only thing I'm mad about, is that someone would think me so incompetent as not to finish the job! /That/ is just offensive and rude. Besides, they were stupid enough to blame Jareth, Kerbasy or Cesran. Those three are so goody good, it makes my teeth ache. Now, if it were me and Elessa, then, maybe, but she's more of a thief." Then, "So, do you need to go have prancy time in the woods to feel better? We could get you some ribbons and glitter and then you could go and prance to your heart's content."

GAME: Hurricane gives you 14308 silver.

Godwyn hides her smile behind her mug as she takes another drink. Food is a good idea though, and she stands after a bit to head toward the bar again. "Someone mentioned eats earlier. What's on the menu for tonight?"

GAME: Godwyn rolls Fortitude: (6)+14: 20

"I'm hearing a lot of excuse making here!" Sandy says, cupping one hand to an ear. Then she kicks Tatyannah under the table and adds, "I DO NOT PRANCE! And I certainly do not wear ribbons OR glitter, thank you. And that's all rich coming from the Orphan Trainer herself." She wags a finger at her, then has another drink. She's nursing it. Rhar and Jibbom are eyeballed. Warily.

Rhar doesn't need ribbons or glitter to be shiny and awesome. She has a Jibbom! She hefts him up over her head. While standing on the bar. Now Jibbom's the tallest! "Cyootie von Oronblood! Bane Night!" Rhar holds him up like the trophy he is!

Te'Andra is caught, and looks around dizzily. She pulls again on the tankard, and really is not expecting anything but a wave of blackness....

GAME: Te'Andra rolls fort: (14)+2: 16

Bahken looks over at Godwyn as she joins him by the bar, "Don't know. trying to find out..." He yells out, "Meat of some kind???" he yells out and drops a few coppers onto the bar top.

Jibbom is the ultimate fashion accessory. He does have those shiny golden wings, which he flutters as he is hoisted above Rhar's head. "Yes! Celebrate, one and all! Let the food and drink flow freely! Enjoy the most extreme beverages Alexandros has to offer!"

Yngvild slaps Te'Andra companionably on the back, which is a fairly hefty and then drains her own to the dregs "If you do feel sick, best to make a run early" advises the proverbial voice of wisdom, punctuating her words with another belch "ANGORON" she toasts as she hoists her, mostly, empty horn. Which manages to scatter drops of strong ale around.

GAME: Yngvild rolls fort: (9)+8: 17

Godwyn raises her right hand in the air and cheers along with Yngvild, though this one is without a name or a word. Then she clears her throat. "Seriously, let's get some eats going. I'm sure we didn't just come here to get tanked." She giggles and turns toward the man next to her. "Don't think we've met before. Name's Godwyn."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Tatyannah says loftily. "There are those who want to learn a certain skill. It will help them in life." She kicks Sandy back, "Watch it. Come on, can you imagine Kerbasy or Cesran flat out murdering someone?" Apparently, it's not out of the realm for Jareth, but the other two..."And you say that now, but I saw you that one time. I saw you in /pink/!" She points in her best 'j'accuse' voice.

And it's about then that a great and shining spotlight appears! It shines down upon the Ironbloods, glimmering and sparkling in a whirl of golden color and luminance! Jibbom's hair shimmers, Rhar's hair shines!

A second appears, tinged pink, over Lady Sandiel! It makes her look not too badly.

...it's at this point, 'George' steps forward. "RIBB--" he says, and then clears his throat. A few times. He horks and spits, and a slimy spittle lands near Tatyannah's toes. "RI--AHEM! Wer her taday, ta announce a biggun! Hem. Hem hem!" Hork, spit. "THA LADY RHAR HAS AN ANNOUNCEMENT! FER ALL OF US! PERK YER EARS AN SETTLE YER BOTTIMS!"

George points a froggy finger towards RHAR!

Bahken smiles and offers his hand to Godwyn, "Bahken.. I sing..." he explains simply. Then quiets, looking over towards the announcement, glancing at his coppers and hoping a tray of food is laid where they sit before too long.

Sandy'e expression twitches.

She is not about to say anything about the pink. She glowers at her, then kicks her again under the table before saying, "If that person was Arendt? Probably. Kerbasy's a priest of DEATH anywyas." She kicks her one more time, then her ears perk and she looks at 'George'. Her eyes close. Tightly.

Yngvild levers her way up and is on her way to the bar when the spotlights appear. She pauses a moment but the siren call of booze wins and she gets her horn filled with mead before propping herself at the bar to listen and snicker softly at the elf outlined in pink. Well softly for her anyway.

"Please, Kerbasy would spend time trying to decide what kind of cookie goes with murdering a bad guy, oatmeal or a sandwich cookie," Tatyannah scoffs with another kick back at Sandy. The froggy spittle gets her attention, and her eyes narrow at George.

Rhar shakes Jibbom to help make the wings flap. Then she blinks at the announcement. About an announcement. "Frog talk?!?!" No, wait. That wasn't the announcement. It's about the Bane of Night! Rhar shakes him more. Waves him around. "Drink! Drink much! Drink Cyootie. Bane Night. Father many cub! Von Ironblood pack grow!" Under the bright light, even the dew on the leaves in her hair and the twigs in her toefur sparkle and shimmer.

For an all too brief moment, Jibbom is stunned into silence. Then, it ends with a torrent of speech. "Is it true?" He asks with obvious excitement. "Glorious! The Ironblood line shall continue on! Thank you, Coyote, for this magnificent blessing! Our heroic progeny shall run wild across the city, bringing the Coyote's wisdom to all! Free drinks for everyone in honor of this momentousness!"

Godwyn grins and gives a cheer to that. "Althea's blessings on you both!" Well then, that was the cue to start partying harder if nothing else.

"...what." Sandy hears Rhar's announcement and, once she's done choking on her drink, she manages to look even more horrified.

As Rhar speaks, the spotlight intensifies! and shines down upon Rhar! As she speaks, her hair glows, her voice takes on angellic tones! ...so does Jibbom's!

...and the spotlight over Sandy gentles. Softens. ...as though patting her on the shoulder.

Showing its sympathy.

"Hurr. Hem! You heard'im! Wer gathur hurr today to celebrate! Er...the growth of the Baneclan, and to offer consolation to the Maybe-Wife! Consolations to Maybe-Wife! Fat-bellies to Rhar and Jibbom!" George holds his hands into the air, and then sneaks off behind the bar.

Yngvild blinks a very times as a puzzled expression slowly spreads across her face "Did she just..." she pauses and decides that more drink is a great answer and guzzles down her mead. That done she looks around "Did she just say she is pregnant?"

Tatyannah laughs out loud at the announcement, and she shouts, "Congratulations to Rhar and Jibbom." Then again, she played 'goddess' to Aenyn's 'god/' at their wedding, so. "May Tarien bless you with many children."

Te'Andra looks over at Yng. "I suspect that translated, that is exactly what she said. Congratulations, may your clan always increase!"

"I think I'm going to be sick," says Sandy, quietly, afterwards.

Bahken seems more interested in the reactions than the announcement, chuckling as he reaches out and grabs some food (it's there, I say it is!). He takes a noticable bite, chewing slowly before he finishes his drink and grabs another.

GAME: Bahken rolls fort: (11)+4: 15

"Ooooh!" Abrahil looks as though he may faint away! The lights tremble overhead, barely holding in place--and they implode into glitter as the little fellow loses concentration, and bobbles up there to hug the couple. Or at least, pat them on the hand.

Yay, food. Finally.

Godwyn takes a plate and taps Bahken on his right shoulder. "Come, sit with me. You said you were a singer, yes?" Her face looks alive with interest at the mention of that.

"Consolation to ther Former-Maybe-Wife!" croaks an imperious voice from behind the bar! The spotlight appears upon Sandy, again!

Bahken moves to join Godwyn, "Still am I think.. though it depends on how much I drink tonight I suppose... Shots really don't do my throat any wonders." he smirks, noticing the light show.. "I'm guessing there's an inside joke I'm missing."

Godwyn gives a nod. "There is. It's a long, convoluted story that... von Ironblood there... likes to tell." She chuckles. "If anything, I have found a few drinks does wonders to the voice. Long as too many aren't involved, your voice actually gets stronger. Don't ask me how that works, I don't know myself."

Rhar bounds down from the bartop... still wielding her winged sparkly Jibbom! She bounds right to Sandy, since she seemed like she didn't understand. "RHAR HAVE CYOOTIE CUB. IN BELLY!" She yells at Sandry from a few inches away. To make sure she hears it all Ok this time. Then she nods to others who understood. Which is alot of nodding. Then she tosses her Cyootie up into the air with a loud "WHEE!"

Jibbom, still being wielded by Sandy, ends up right in Sandy's face once Rhar bounds over to her. "Our children shall frolic freely about your lands! And they will no doubt inherit my amazing magical powers!" It really somehow sounds like Jibbom thinks he is delivering /good/ news to Sandy.

Bahken chuckles at Godwyn, "Well, I know most people tend to hold back unless they've had a few drinks in them.. I don't really have that problem. When I hold back it's for very different reasons..." he explains. He takes a seat and plucks some food and nibbles in between sips.

Tatyannah stares at Jibbom for a moment, before leaning in to say something quietly to Sandy, before sitting back and nodding.

"Hmm drink to celebrate or comiserate" ponders Yngvild from her spot at the bar. Either way she is drinking steadily still. Her stomach rumbles rather loudly as the smell of food reaches her. She shifts over to snag some and watch the interaction between the two small folk and Sandy.

Abrahil daubs at his eyes, all tear'd up again. The elderly gnome looks just beside himself, really. He really does! A trembling hand even reaches for a brew!

Godwyn pauses for a moment to take another drink, then sighs. "I know a story when I smell one, and I like hearing stories. So, why exactly do you hold back, Bahken? Because you seem like you can handle your drink."

GAME: Godwyn rolls Fort: (2)+14: 16

Sandy grabs her drink. And downs the rest of it. She just...drowns her sorrows. Immediately.

GAME: Sandy rolls fort: (15)+16: 31

GAME: Abrahil rolls fort: (16)+11: 27

Bahken smirks, "Well, I have a bad habbit of waking up next to the most interesting people when I don't... Fun at first and really embarassing after a while..." he says with a chuckle. "But really its because most of my most impressive talents come with my voice.."

Godwyn nods. "I know what you mean by that. The man who taught me how to sing, for true I mean, can do some pretty impressive things when he gets to one of his shanties or marches." She smiles at that. "Hmm... a song, now, perhaps?"

GAME: Yngvild rolls fort: (2)+8: 10

Te'Andra nods to Yngvild. "Verified" She seems to be a bit shaken by the issue, and grabs another tankard. "I'm not sure being a one drunk is so bad right now. I'm not sure the world will be around in eight months or so"

GAME: Te'Andra rolls fort: (16)+2: 18

That much booze on an empty stomach cannot be all good for you. Even at Yngvild's size. Still aside from a faint bluriness around her eyes she seems mostly fine as she devours more meat hungrily, leaving any vegetables for those prancy elfin types "May Angoron bless the frui of your loins" she booms out merrily to Jib and Rhar as she raises her drinking horn in a toast to the happy couple.

Now that her mate is airborn, Rhar has her paws free. For more wolfhugs! For everyone! She's happy, so everyone else should be, too! She starts with Sandy, catching her while she's busy trying to wring more out of her mug.

Abrahil puts the brew away, looking a little--well, none the worst for wear, really. He looks a little shocked at the stein in his hand, really...and puts it down hurriedly (and steps away from it!) before looking on. "Oh, how wonderful!" he says. The tankard ends up near Te'Andra's table...well, on one of the chairs. He really can't reach that high!

GAME: Bahken rolls Perform/Sing: (11)+12: 23

Bahken considers a song... Hmm, most of the drinking songs I know all involve going some where.. the next whiskey bar.. home... Hmmm, maybe something for the Maybe-wife..." He takes a deep breath and in a healthy baritone sings out over the crowd, o/~ Red red WIIIiiii-iii-iiine, Stay close to mEEEeee-eee-eee o/~

Jibbom hovers about, flying excitedly around the tavern. "Yes! Everyone, revel in celebration! Alexandria's greatest heroes shall soon unleash their progeny upon the city! Rejoice!" More free liquor flows freely.

"Such a wonderful thing, you know. Oh! Why...I recall when Rhar first came to the city. So wide-eyed, so...and they're such a wonderful couple, aren't they?" Abrahil will talk with anyone and everyone who'll listen. He's waddled over near poor Yngvild, and is prattling away. In fact, it's some time before he blinks, once or twice, and realizes just who he's speaking with--and, well, his ears turn bright pink at the tips. "Oh! Oh...I'm so sorry. I'm afraid the drink just got to me, and here I've been prattling on...and you've been so kind to listen. And...oh, oh dear. Has anyone asked you how you've been?" Perhaps he sways or bobbles a bit.

Sandy buries her face in her hands and just slumps down in her chair after her last drink. She looks at Tatyannah. Then Abrahil. She is NOT looking at Jibbom and Rhar. becasue horror.

Yngvild goes OOC.

Yngvild has left.

Laoise has connected.

Laoise goes OOC.

Laoise has left.

Well, that's when Abrahil realizes he's talking to thin air. Or does he notice? He sways a bit (it's difficult to tell) before heading towards the bar...and gripping one of the stool legs. "Oh dear...I do think..." he says.

Godwyn glances toward Abrahil and chuckles. "Well, that's his night." She clears her throat. "Maybe something a bit more festive." With that an a breath of air, she starts to sing a song of her own.

GAME: Godwyn rolls Sing: aliased to Perform/Sing: (13)+13: 26

Sure enough, Godwyn's song is tailored to be rousing... and to encourage a bit more drinking. Maybe a bit of dancing if those who are so inclined would do so. After all, this is a party!

"That's...a very pretty...tune..." and Abrahil finds a comfortable place to take a nap...perhaps bobbing in the air a few inches. Off the nasty floor, you know. Bobble bobble. Wobble wobble.

Te'Andra has disconnected.

Abrahil goes OOC.
