SUMMARY Masquerade Party at the Adventurer's Guild!

A variety of masked heroes are present in the Guild today. Some of them are more fancifully dressed than others, but everyone is masked.

A number of war golems are apparently the band for the evening, offer jaunty, cheerful tunes for the masquerade to dance to.

ALl in all, the party looks like its shaping up nicely. There's food... and more importantly, there's /booze/ on tap and available.

Faux Tarrasque clanks and clumps, more so than usual, being slightly larger and heavier than usual. Not that he can't handel the weight, but it does throw his balance off a little. Moving carefully, he grabs a drink, and wanders the floor, checking out the other costumes.

A whitehaired athletic-looking Mul'niessa man is standing casually near the wine cask, wearing a silver mask, chain mail, and a rapier at his side, sipping red wine and picking tidbits from a plate of snacks.

Astaren is... himself. Only he is wearing a mask, which does very little to nothing to disguise the face he is who he is. The man sits in a back corner, watching the party, while drinking tea.

Vaalyun is sporting a three-quarter mask that leaves his mouth and chin exposed, for better consumption of alcohol. He's also sporting a square priest's cap, but beyond that and a mantle, he doesn't wear much in the way of a costume. He does, however, have a goblet of truly impressive size, filled with the sweet wine of the Gold Coast.

Morgan comes walking in with a fancy ballroom dress in great shape, but for her skin that you can see from her bust and up is a scaly emerald green, her ears dont seem to be there but sunken holes are in their place. But what you might of noticed is that her long red hair is just snakes.

Dancing has started because of /course/ it has. No one said this wasn't a dance party. To be fair, no one said it was, either. Men and women in all manner of costume, ranging from simple domino masks over their eyes to an elaborate owlbear suit and that's before you even get to the illusory nonsense that some of the local wizards can cook up, appear to be geting right into the swing of things.

Yelrona , in her illusory Mul'niessa disguise, checks out the owlbear curiously, then seems to lose interest when she recognizes it as a costume.

Astaren glances to some of the new commers, makes a few notes onto a piece of paper, and goes back to quietly sipping tea.

Vaalyun takes a long draught of his wine, and then wanders around the room observing the costumes of some of the adventurers whose skills and pocketbooks make them more impressive.

Morgan is proud of her illusion, but she does go to any one serving drinks and small treats "no I dont need rats, and every one knows rats are not in season yet." the woman says with her normal voice.

Yelrona recognizes Vaalyun despite the mask, and greets him warmly by name as he approaches. "That's quite a goblet you've got there," she observes. "You do realize they allow refills, right?"

Faux Tarrasque buzzes quietly. "Refills take time you could be drinking. Little upset I didn't think of that myself. Could have brought a flask as big as my head."

To be fair, it's a really good owlbear costume!

And then there's a couple of trolls and one guy declaring he's a wight because he dipped himself in white paint. Get it?

Anyway, DANCING.

A lot of it.

"They do, but why waste valuable drinking time refilling my glass." Vaalyun says, with a laugh. "But it is quite the party. Beats crawling around in the sewers."

Shara comes in wearing her own disguise, namely...a spell. Her own mask is basically a domino mask that's stuck to her face, but her dress is an eveing gown that just allows her to move freely. There's also a star on her cheek.

Morgan

Someone apparently forgot to give Zant the note about a masquerade being underway. Seeing as when he steps inside the guild hall, he... is entirely lacking in any kind of disguise or costume or whatever, and he looks appropriately surprised when eh sees what is going on inside. "Oh, uh--" He sounds out akwardly, while his eyes sweep through the people already inside, and after a moment he resorts to... tugging up one of his scarves and wrapping it along his lower face. There, now he is a bandit or a mysterious vigilante or whatever!

Morgan moves to Astaren as she looks to her mentor "you are at a party you should move around and talk to people."

"Pretty much everything beats crawling around in the sewers," the silver-armored Mul'niessa agrees. "Care to dance? Or would that spill your drink?"

Astaren glances up to Morgan and smiles, "I am not the best with people, terrible at costumes, and nodancing ability. I am enjoying myself, care for some tea?" tilting his head faintly, "Yourself, excellent costume."

Morgan smiles and curtsy<sp?> "The dress is real, and the rest is a illusion and I think medausas look like this from what I have read." you can tell as adventrus as she is she does not want to ever meet one.

Kaelyn has arrived.

"Dance?" Vaalyun replies. He seems uncertain for a moment, probably because he's not the most light-footed of those ever to grace these halls, but he puts the huge goblet aside and says, "Sure, why not."

Faux Tarrasque buzzes softly, and peers over Medusa-Morgan. "Close. Different sort of snakes, and the ear holes are higher up. Least the ones I saw. Might be other types, all sorts of weird stuff with monsters."

In wanders well Kaelyn-taur! She's kaelyn, just lots taller, and perched well on a horsie but there's no leggs? The horsie? Well it looks well lots like one, and all even has the appearance of fur, but reaaaallly close investigation reveals her lower 'half' might just be some extremely finely detailed artifice... The fact there's a few crystals on the saddle bags and stuff might possibly be a giveaway.. Who knows! She comes trotting on in, grinning brightly as she looks around curiously with a bright cheerful face.

The Mul'niessa, whose medallion of Tarien is now visible around his neck, steps out onto the dance floor with Vaalyun, moving enthusiastically to the music.

Needless to say, people thin out the crowd a bit for the absurdity of a Faux-Centaur suit.

Somewhere, an actual centaur is probably very offended.

But he's not here, thankfully.

Shara just....chuckles at the 'centaur' out on the floor. "jeez. And I thought I went all out." She says before she wanders her way over towards Astaren....and a bit of wine. "Greetings." She says in accented trade.

The dreadfully under-dressed (as in not sporting a costume!) Zant putters forward a bit sheepishly, uncertain of where to be going towards in all this-- only to end up pausing when the parting of the crowds draws attention to Kaelyn-taur, and his eyes widen in shock over the wrap of his scarf.

...But they also sparkle.

"That is a very impressive costume!" He suddenly calls out, as he smooths over in a near-slide towards Kaelyn. "How did you work that up?!" He asks, cheerfully.

Faux Tarrasque buzzes in apperication of the other faux-beast. "I've met some golems based on a quadraped design, but never seen one adapted into it. Very nice."

Kae beams cheerfully and kind of trots in place, the whole suit moving well veeeery well... "Umm SOmething I just kinda came up with! I loves this time of year!" She says cheerfully, now flailing her arms up and down. "That and I has tooons of practice making moving artific and stuffs, been making Sandy-dolls!"

There's some impressed murmurings from the crowd, of course. Why wouldn't there be? In fact, a lot of costumes are pretty fancy tonight. Not most of them. Just some. Lke the CEntaur and the owlbear and the tarrasque. A gnome is poking at that last one curiously.

Astaren shakes his head at the centaur and smiles a bit to himself. Then glances up to Shara, "hello there miss, enjoying the party?" pickingup his tea to take a sip.

"THat's so cool!!!" Zant pipes out, all but bouncing a little along the balls of his feet while he looks Kaelyn and her artefice-created costume with clear admiration. "Is that solid enough to be ridden, or...?"

Morgan looks to Shara as she is in a Medeusa in a fancy ballroom dress "I was trying to convince him to go out and dance."

Kae blinks at Zant and shrugs "Well kiiinda? The fun part will be getting out of it. Still though, there's even feed back generated buy the suit, so I know where mah hind leggies are and tail, how wide I am, even haz spatial awareness!" She says cheerfully.

Kae then tilts her head "ooooh and am wondering if I should try to dance, considering I litterally nao haz two left feets!" She says, now flailing... She then peers now again at Zant "Ooh yeah, anyway it's kind of like an artificer's suit and all, so I'mma soooo gonna be tired and stuffs when I get out of it, but for now? I'mma haz fun!"

Faux Tarrasque buzzes softly. "You built in a sensoy feedback? Nice. I don't understand the workings of it all, but I know that's hard to do."

Shara smiles to Astaren. "Enjoying watching it, and not being the entertainment for once." She then looks to Morgan. "He doesn't seem like the type to dance.....maybe if we both tried to convince him?" She then chuckles. "Or we could dance. Who knows."

Zant bounces a little more over Kaelyn's answer, and he looks over her... horse parts once more over, clearly considering something.

"Can... Can I try?" He asks, eyes sparkling. "Getting on you, I mean? Like riding a horse except not!"

Yelrona chuckles at Zant's enthusiasm. "Get a room, you two!" she snarks.

Astaren shakes his head slowly as the two women talk. With a pass of his hand he is gone, leaving only a half empty cup of steaming tea behind.

More flailing from Kae and a right front forehoof is lifted whith a shake of a red-haired tail "Noooooooo.. Don't think soo, tooons of inuendo can be made with thaaaat!" She calls out then beams and tilts her head to the left... "Besides I dunno how well this body thingie is gonna do.... It could flake out at any point."

Zant blinks in confusion at Kaelyn's response, head canted to the side. "What do you mean? I don't--" He starts, but apparently hearing Yelrona's snark over there does make the realization hit in, and what can be seen of his face over the cover of the scarf flares BRIGHT RED. "...Oh. OH." ANd suddenly his hands go flailing in front of him. "I didn't mean to-- SOrry!!"

Faux Tarrasque blinks, and blinks again, looking from Zant to Kaelyn to Yelrona. "...'inuendo'? ...I don't get it."

Astaren goes home.

Astaren has left.

Constantin has arrived.

There's laughter, of course, t the Tarrasque's confusion. SOme people caught that and Zant's reaction and found it funny enough.

Still, then there is dancing to be had. Plenty of that. Even adventurers can have a good time.

Especially them.

Constantin strides in, clad in all black, with cute litle ears and two extra tentacle-arms sprouting from behind his shoulder blades. Its sleek, looks leather, and he sports clows on his boots and fingertips. Yes, he's wearing a cat suit. Mrow.

Kae peers at the 'Tarrasque' and shrugs.. "Something about 'riding' the pony and stuffs... That can sooooo be taken sooooo many waaays!" She calls out, then glances around now, looking for muinchies.... "Oooh, I wonder if there's a buffet table!"

Faux Tarrasque buzzes softly. "Well, there -was-... they might have restocked by now." What? He's playing the Great Eater. Have to stay in charecter somehow.

Constantin scans the room. There's dancing. And food. And, well, he'll head for the food as soon as he's had a twirl on the dance-floor, sending his tentacles spinning out into space around him.

"I didn't think about it that way!!" Zant protests, his face still burning ridicilously red. He turns to step along with the faux-centaur, though, and looking up at her, he thumps his fist against his chest. "I should have introduced myself. Truthsayer Zant, at your service."

Kae shrugs and grins a bit.. "Nice to meetcha, Imma Kaelyn... just a goofy artificer..." She says cheerfully, before finding foods as they're put out and happily starting to arrange a tray of em.

Faux Tarrasque clicks and blinks. "...aren't we supposed to be in masqs? Doesn't telling who you really are break that? I thought was supposed to be mysterious or something." Not taht he's particularly well disguised.

"Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhh," sounds out Zant with a slow blink of his eyes at that. "I thoguht this was just..." He looks around from side to side. "A costume party or something? I dunno. I didn't evne know a party was happening until I came inside!"

Constantin keeps dancing, for the omoment, working up an appetite. Finally, he twirls off the dancefloor, tentacles settling around his shoulders. "Oh, food!" He gets set to get some, and asides to the Eater of Foods, "I think that's up to you, darling."

Faux Tarrasque buzzes and shrugs. "I was told that's what a Masqurade was. But maybe I didn't understand it right."

Kae flails happily now that she has her fod, she's using that artificed taur back of hers as a table! "This works great as a place to stick things!" She says cheerfully, that can sooo be taken baddly to... She then takes a bite out of whatever, probably a small sandwich... "Soo umm yeaaah I've never been all that great at masquerades....."

"Don't... maybe don't say it like that," Zant advices of Kae on that one particular thing she says that could be taken in different ways. He coughs akwardly with that. "Well, whatever! Might as well have fun with this either way!" Having said that, his hand goes to snatch a sandwich for himself-- shoving it whole into his mouth. Somehow.
