So, that was an interesting morning! At least now you have some breakfast to cook before you get underway. Shocker lizard meat is, at least, halfway decent and , with stomachs full, you're able to get back underway to your destination.

Sabina glances over at Lysos as they move along. "So. Feel better after having eaten your enemy?" She asks with a small grin. "They had a strange taste to them I thought. Like eaching the air in a thunderstorm. Just more filling."

Burai climbs carefully onto his horse. He leans forward over the animal's neck, waiting to catch his balance before slowly straightening up into a more normal horse rider's posture. "I'm glad they didn't go to waste," he offers. Then he turns to look in the direction they were headed before halting for the night. "I wonder how much farther."

"Would it make me a bad person if I said yes?" Lysos answers Sabina while they ride. She still has the book, for all the lack of use it has been, but it remains closed for the moment. In her spare change of clothes, that is, the ones that weren't singed beyond respectable use, her hair, unfortunately, still maintains its frizz despite her attempts to comb it out. Upon Burai's comment, though, she does open the book, flicking to the page that has the notes indicating where the girl is supposed to be. "Um.. nope, I'll be honest, I have no idea." Re: Someone who has a better grasp of the geography might know better.

Sora doesn't really say much at the moment. Her attention is mostly on their surroundings to try to keep alert for any suprises. Her greatsword is slung on her back as usual, really to be pulled at a moments notice.

A horse rides up from behind, a half-sil woman in light armor, bearing Eluna's symbol. She slows as she approaches the group, offering a polite nod as she rides up. "Hail," she greets. "Travellers in these parts should take care. Demons have been si--" That, of course, is when she sees Lysos' hair. There's a heartbeat's span of pure shock, followed by a laugh that she has to forcibly fight down, covering her mouth with the back of her hand as she coughs a bit, trying to keep her face a mask of professionalism -- and not doing a great job. "Though I see that you've already seen the dangers the local wildlife pose..."

Sabina turns in the sadle to take in the half-sil and offers a wave. "Yes. We have and we've heard about the demons as well. Which is why we're in a hurry to find a certian young woman who thinks she's going to meet and fall in love with a dragon." Her smile turns impish as she knows just how crazy it sounds. And reaching into her pocket she pulls out a mithral mask in the shape of a coyote and slips it over her eyes.

"They learned the error of their ways," Lysos assures with narrowed eyes after the cleric catches up with the party. Then, with all the dignity her new hairstyle can offer, she tilts her head to the Elunite.

Burai turns in his own saddle, or tries to before he wobbles and nearly falls off. Finally he manages to get the horse to turn 'sideways' along the trail so that he can sit straight and turn his head to look at Elena. "Yes," he agrees. "We have." Then he begins the long, laborious process of getting the steed pointed in the right direction again.

The good news is that you don't get lost. While you don't exactly have a specific map to follow, or trail, you do find some shortcuts on your way to your general destination that an inexperienced traveler, like the girl you're chasing, is not likely to have picked up on. By mid day, you're starting to feel like you're probably gaining ground. Whether or not it's enough is hard to say, but at least you're not jumped on by more shocker lizards. On the other hand, you've just come across what seems to be a rather large ogre sitting on a rather large boulder alongside the road. He glances your way on your approach, shielding his eyes from the sun, and proceeds to sit up straight. No big deal. Just an ogre, right?

Sora blinks just a bit. "What do you think? Do we talk to him? He isn't attacking yet." she asks the others.

Burai nods thoughtfully, never taking his eyes off of the Ogre. "We can try," he agrees. "But be ready to fight. Also be ready for spells, I've heard there are Ogres who are also magicians. And be prepared for...well best to be ready for anything." There. Simple, right? He pauses and waits for someone else to move forward and talk.

"A ... dragon." Elena blinks, seemingly unsure of whether to believe the woman, especially as she dons the coyote mask. Though as nobody seems ready to contradict the story, the half-sil seems to take it on faith, settling back onto her horse and getting comfortable. "Well," she muses, glancing between the two Tsuran women. "That sounds like quite the adventure." It looks like she's about to say something to Lysos again, though the ogre suddenly has the vast majority of her attention, Elena herself sitting up a bit straighter in her saddle as one hand goes to the handle of the mace at the side of her hip. Just in case. "Talking is usually the best opening," Elena agrees.

Lysos pulls her reins to stop her horse well short of the ogre. Looking at him. "They usually just attack, don't they? I'm pretty sure my old mother's stories talk about them eating people. Hee Hi Ho Hum?"

Bina looks up and sees the ogre that Sora is speaking of. She swallows, hiding it with a smile. "We might as well. With a care? Make sure she went this way if the ogre has seen her." She gets off her horse and then hands her riegns over to Burai if she can before moving forward slowly, hands empty. "Greetings!" She says plesantly.

Edinaz arrives, singing as he steps into the high grasses. Bluebirds sing.

Edinaz has arrived.

Your arrival was not exactly stealthy and they're absolutely well situated. They do notice you, glancing up and lifting their hammer in your direction. The tool, not the weapon, though it can be that too. It doesn't look it's deigned for martial fighting, really.

"Watch your step," calls the ogre, his voice slow and rumbly. Trade is difficult for him, it seems, but then they've only rarely been known for thier eloquence.

Sora keeps her awareness up but she does that, takes a look at the path, for any dangers.

Sabina keeps her smile in place and offers another wave. "Thank you for your concern." She says, stopping when the warning is given. "My name is Sabina. I was wondering if you could help us with some information? We're looking for a young woman who likely went this way. Have you seen her?" She pets the peacock on her shoulder, more out of keeping herself calm then anything else.

Edinaz stands in the back and looks competent, arms folded on his chest.

"Are we to watch our step because of the footing... or because we're trespassing?" Lysos asks, trying to keep any suggestion of offense out of her voice while she does her best to control her moutn shoudl it show any nervousness at the presence of the ogre. "We don't mean to trespass if that's the case, I promise. Like she said, we're looking for someone."

Burai nudges his horse closer. It doesn't seem to want to. The two lock eyes and engage in a battle of wills. Finally with a sigh he climbs down off of the saddle, stumbling slightly as his feet touch the ground before catching himself. "Stay," he murmurs to the horse and then moves a few steps forward. He nods in agreement with, and perhaps approval of, the others' words.

Elena, for now, keeps relatively quiet. Sabina seems to be taking the diplomatic route, and too many people taking might at best confuse the orge, and at worst irritate him.

".

"...nnnnnno," says the Ogre, "...yes?" He glances around. It is now more noticable, th sweat beading on his brow. "Stay back," he tells all of you. "They might hear you. They might already be here." He's glancing around furtively. Nervously.

There's something that's making him a little frightened.

What could scare an ogre?

Sabina stays in place and looks about as the ogre starts it's nervious talk. "They? They or what are you speaking about, my good ogre?" More petting of bird... more petting!

Edinaz lifts his chin, "What are you fussing about?" The half-yrch isn't so understanding.

Burai peers in the same directions the Ogre is looking. Not finding anything, he says to the rest of the party in a lowered voice he hopes that only they can hear: "what could have him frightened like this? The dragon...?"

Elena, for her part, doesn't ask the same question. Instead, she is already looking around, trying to spot whatever dangers they might have missed on their approach to the overly-noticable ogre.

Bina stares at the ogre. And then around the ogre.. and then just around. Her brows hidden behind the mask rise high and she starts pointing to the ground. Her voice lowers. "What are these?!"

Edinaz looks around, listening as he waits for the ogre to speak. Thumbs hook into his swordbelt, as his foot twists a little.

Burai pauses. "Some sort of disturbance," he replies. "In the ground." He reaches over his shoulder to place his hand on the hilt of his sword. Pans his gaze across the ground. "All around." He flicks his eyes back towards the Ogre. "Quickly...what -are- they?!"

Elena apparently sees them too. "Hard to say," she says. "Let's hope that whatever is -in- the ground, -stays- there." She keeps her voice very quiet, almost a whisper, as the ogre seems to believe the things are alive. "Let's very carefully attempt to move away, yes?"

Edinaz draws both swords, turning in a slow circle. "It won't stay there." A look to the ogre. "Right?" Knees flex, as he gets ready to fight.

The ogre glances bacvk and forth, nodding towards you. He holds his hand up and whispers ( a whisper for an ogre is still loud), "...small ones."

Small what, though? He doesn't elaborate. He's got his voice low. "BE careful. They could hear."

Lysos just stays.. as still as she can. And does her best to keep the horse from moving as well. "What... do... we... do...?" Lysos asks very quietly, very carefully.

Sabina starts to slowly back out of the area as quietly as she can, glancing up at the ogre curriously.

GAME: Sabina rolls sense motive: (3)+6: 9

There's a soft grating sound as Burai pulls his sword out. He winces at the sound and looks apologetically at the rest of the party. Even though it's meant for two hands, he holds the oversized weapon in one and keeps the other hand free, directing it in various directions towards spots on the ground. Not trying to point them out, but ready to cast a fire bolt at the ground if something emerges.

Elena slowly starts to move her horse through the circles, watching and waiting to see if anything happens, all tension as she silently mouths prayers.

Sabina continues to step slowly out of the area as quietly as she can. "How can the ogre just be in the middel of it and be ok!" She whispers to herself and possibly others nearby.

Edinaz doesn't move. "Maybe they sense motion?" Both sword-tips point at the ground.

As if an answer to Edinaz's question, as you begin to back up, a tiny little head pops out of one of the disturbances.

"Peep?" it says.

Oh no.

Oh no. Not that. /Anything/ but that. Peering at you with vertical slit pupils is the most dreaded creature an adventurer can ever face, the most dangerous opponent, the most vicous of all things...

It is a kobold.

And where there is one, there are many.

"AHHHH," yells the Ogre, crawling up ointo the boulder he was sitting on when you arrived.

Lysos starts to move her horse.. then stops it when Edinaz makes his observation. Guess? Observational guess? She swallows and closes her eyes, trying to get her breathing under control. Thus she misses the kobold sticking its head out of the ground. Though she hears it. "Peep?" she echoes, slowly opening her eyes.

Edinaz looks towards the kobold and back to the ogre. "So. What's the problem?"

The brows go up behind her mask and Sabina looks to the Ogre and then back. "How many of them do you think it takes to cornor an ogre on a rock?" She asks to the group while drawing a dagger to be safe.

There are ... sounds coming from beneath the ground. A clawing sound. It's coming your way.

The ogre raises his hammer defensively, but there's something *definitely* on its way towards you beneath the earth. You can hear voices now. More of them.

Draconic, muffled, only a few words audible if you speak the language.

Burai says, "I'm not sure how many there are..." He looks at Edinaz and then begins walking back towards his horse. "Surely not so many that they can overcome us? But...they could strike from any direction."

GAME: Burai refreshes spells.

Lysos seems to relax a little bit when she sees the one putting its head up. Then she looks at the ogre, a little bit confused. On the one hand, tiny, little, kind of ugly head. On the other hand, terrified ogre. "Do... we... run?"

GAME: Elena casts Comprehend Languages. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15

Sabina moves off to the side quickly and away from the holes. "There's more then one or two.. and they're digging I think. Is there something else down there?"

"No," Elena says to Lysos, shaking her head. "Move slowly." She looks down at the tiny head, then at the other circles. The Cleric sits up straighter, one hand going to her holy symbol as she recites a line of text from the scriptures. "And she lifted the clouds from their mind, that they were able to receive the wisdom..."

"PEEP'

It came from right below you.

Then you feel it. A tremor.

A TREMOR.

If you control the trailing rope by succeeding on an opposed Strength check while holding it, the entangled creature can move only within the limits that the rope allows. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell’s level or be unable to cast the spell.

An entangled creature can escape with a DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action). A net is useful only against creatures within one size category of you.

A net must be folded to be thrown effectively. The first time you throw your net in a fight, you make a normal ranged touch attack roll. After the net is unfolded, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls with it. It takes 2 rounds for a proficient user to fold a net and twice that long for a non-proficient one to do so.

She steps over to the unconcious kobold and /glares/ at it. "Funny..They think they're funny?"

Burai has a hard time telling just what is going on further down the Kobold cave. His hand is still emitting fire and it's ruining his vision. He raises his hand and points it at the roof of the cave, where it flows along but can't quite melt the rock. This makes it safe for him to walk forward, past the retching Edinaz, before he lowers his hand again and sends the stream of fire down the cave after the retreating kobolds. "You were warned!" he says sternly, raising his voice to be heard over the crackling of his flames.

"Let's get out of this hole," she sighs, using her free hand to tuck back loose hairs as she looks around. "Are the animals injured?" Because a fall like that is not good for horse anatomy.

Edinaz looks like he wants to chase, but instead loudly wretches breakfast over his own boots. That stops him cold.

Sabina calls up out of the pit to the ogre. "They're gone for now. These fine people scared them off. How about you assist us out of this hole. Gently if you please." She huffs as she continues to try to undirt her clothing.

Lysos is definitely in no mood to chase, particularly since it seems like no one else is. She does look concernedly at Edinaz, and fishes out a small bit of black... something from one of her skirt pockets. "Here. Chew this. Might help." She offers it to him, then carefully makes her way back to the pit opening, grabbing the rope just as Sabina calls up. "Wait..." she starts to say, looking in horror at the other tsuran.

Edinaz starts chewing, unquestioningly, and starts to regain a little colour. He wipes his mouth with the back of one dirty hand. "Thank you, that was unpleasant."

...it's exactly what you'd expect. Sabina's words mean the ogre yanks IMMEDIATELY on the rope that was wrapped around him earlier by Lysos. She takes off into the air, up over the pit and goes sailing into the sky before landing with a distict crash in a pile of leaves.

...and poison ivy.

Sabina says, "I SAID GENTLY!"

Elena watches as Edinaz goes flying, simply lowering her eyes into her hand as she checks on the rest of the animals they were riding in the fall. "It is going to be a long, long day, I think..."
