SUMMARY: Rak introduces his girlfriend to his newfound animal companion. It goes... about as well as could be expected.

Erakirak is about half a mile from the entrance to the Aerie. He is heavily wounded, from what mostly seem like bites. About fifty feet away is a griffon, also heavily wounded, in much the same way, following him extremely cautiously.

Murder's approach is made obvious by the red hat she wears, though her usual matching summer dress is missing. In its place is her armor. At some point during her approach, she spots the Egalrin, and the griffon, as her course suddenly changes towards them. "Rak!", she calls out, waving her hands. The expression on her face as she gets closer changes from one of cheerfulness to one of upset, his wounds being noticed. "You're hurt!", the Gobbo says, slowing as she looks the griffon over. "Your birdcat is too." Reaching out to him, she starts inspecting Erakirak's wounds. "What happened?"

At Murder's voice, the griffon backs away from the road, limping painfully to the edge of the mountain chasm, clearly ready to jump.

Rak whistles something urgent, laying his wings flat against his side, holding his arms out, palms open.

The griffon stops, turns, looks at him quizzically.

He looks at the winged beast, then at Murder, jogs over to meet her, hugs her affectionately. Which, to be fair, he usually does, but it seems somehow more purposeful this time. "I'm not sure she's _mine_, exactly. But I rescued her, and she needs help, and she seems to trust me. So..." he gives a whatchagonnado shrug, though it's clear he feels a strong sense of empathy for the beast.

GAME: Erakirak accepts a meet and will depart momentarily.

Erakirak has left.

GAME: Erakirak accepts a meet and will arrive momentarily.

Erakirak has arrived.

Murder slows a little at his actions, not the hugging of it, but the gesturing to the griffon. "What got you? What got her?" The Gobbo's interest is more in the injuries than anything else. She squeezes him tightly when he does hug her, and after a moment, she'll carefully detach from the Egalrin, and hold her hand up for the griffon. "Come.", she says softly, but firmly, to the griffon. "Let us see your wounds."

Erakirak nods, whistling to the animal encouragingly, staying close to Murder with a wing over her shoulder. The griffon seems to get the idea, and starts to approach cautiously, sniffing the air.

"I'm not exactly sure what it was," he explains. "It was a bit like a piercer, I guess, but it had tentacles and a tail, and it grabbed its prey. Which was me, for a while," he admits sheepishly, "and Iskandar, and, and her, I guess. We found her hiding in the back of the cave."

Erakirak coaxes the griffon closer, and it... eventually... comes to within arm's reach, sniffing Murder's hand.

"You need treatment for your wounds.", the Goblin says, with the same gentle-but-firmness, to Erakirak. "They may fester, and that is never good." Murder allows the griffon to sniff her hand, and the wee woman will step closer, making a soft murmurming sound. "If you let us care for you, I'll treat you to some freshly caught fish. We'll nurse you back to health.", she says, looking up at the birdcat.

Erakirak nods agreement. "She likes fish," he agrees. "Also field mice. And rabbits. Cernan's Bow, she certainly does eat! Though I suppose when she's healthy she's more than capable of snatching up a deer for a light snack."

He seems to pay very little attention to his own wounds.

A hand reaches up to grab at Erakirak's chest armor, and he feels her weight hanging from it as she pulls herself up to his level. "You need your wounds cared for, dear.", she says, the tone obvious and perhaps slightly ominous. There's an 'or else' in there. It's just silent. Murder plops back down upon the ground, and looks to the two of them. "Just so you know, he is mine.", the Goblin says matter-of-factly to the Griffon. "So no getting jealous if I occupy his time. And I'll let you in, if you can accept that. Deal?"

The griffon stares intently at Murder, giving no real sign of understanding her words, but nevertheless seeming to take her seriously. Rak doesn't quite blush, but stands there awkwardly in the universal stance of polite young men waiting for the women in their lives to make the important decisions. Silence stretches. Then the griffon's rough tongue licks Murder's hand, and a moment later, begins licking Rak's wounds. He winces a bit, but otherwise tolerates it with reasonable good grace.

"I. Um. Will talk to Joia," Rak agrees, referring to the Aerie's apothecary.

The Goblin smiles brightly at the Griffon, and chuckles at Rak's awkwardness and wincing. "We'll take care of you.", she says, further. "And you'll take care of us." She carefully rubs along the Griffon's side, and she leans up to sniff and look at one of the wounds. "Hmm, I see. It latches on to suck blood, does it? You'll need to tell the apothecary that. There are things that can guard the blood against infection. You'll want that. And some poultices for the bigger wounds. Bandages." Murder lets out a breath. "I'll have some wrapping to do. Think she'll fit in our room? Er. Does she have a name, I wonder?"

Erakirak nods agreeably to all of that, then replies shyly to the last question. "I, um, I named her," he admits, whistling a complicate trill in Auran. "In Trade, that would be Wings in the Moonlight, I guess. Because of the color of her wings," he explains, pointing to the silvery inner feathers. "Silverwing, for short, I suppose."

"I do not have much command of your language. But Silverwing is pretty enough a name for her." Murder looks up at the Griffon. "My name is Murder. Pleased to meet you, Silverwing." The Gobbo steps forward to hug at the birdcat's chest.

Silverwing seems puzzled by the hug, but doesn't object. After an awkward pause she nuzzles the goblin's head.

"Oh, and, um... about our room... I don't think she'd like an enclosed space too much. She seemed REALLY happy to get out of the cave. I think outside would make her happier. At first, at least."
