Good news, everyone! You've ascended into the bottom level of the temple proper and are under attack by living statues that seem eager to smash your weapons with their touch. A couple of them have been struck down but most of them are still going strong, using bladed quarter-staves for their weapons.

Above you is the sounds of panic as the Wererats have arrived, no doubt engaging Asumit's cultists, after you set off the alarms when you triggered a trap at the top of a stairway to the bottom level, leaving a flood of poison beh ind you. Green slime that you narrowly avoided.

At any rate, you're now engaged with the columns and are on the clock, as its only a matter of time before Asumit's cultists mount a proper defense.

Constantin batters one of the columns, chipping away at it with his blade, which seems to be holding together despite the weapon-breaking enchatments on the skins of the column!

Hun'rar rushes up to the nearest golem and instead of swining his sword reaches out to try and bite at its stone surface, wicked fangs forming in his mouth but fails to find purchase.

Serraphine slips backward as she glances and sees Sasha moving toward her. She brought the weapon up toward her shoulder - the one that Sasha isn't touching - waits to hear those words and then her blade cuts down in an arc. It looked like a slice that would've been a deep gouge only to have Serraphine's understanding of the creature glance the blowa bit.

"Where exactly are there squishy bits? On this... non-squishy bits thing." She frowns, stepping forward as she drove the blade forward in a stab that cut agan into this... thing. But she does her best to try and keep herself between it and Sasha.

You here the loud squeal of a were rat and a wet, squelching sound from the stairs above. Something bad just happened.

The wererats are making paniced shouts now, trying to bring some kind of order to place. SOmething has definitely just changed the envets. The columns bring their staves to bear, strikking Iskandar, Hun'rar anmd COnstatin, the last of which is a powerful blow that rocks him. Still, they are being worn down.

Hun'rar has seen what the golems due to weapons and with shield in hand wrestles with a golem, using both claw and fang on the creature until he is able to catch his teeth on a crack formed by a previous attack and with great effort pull the golem apart.

Morgan stands at the stairs floating a inch or two off the ground waiting for the others to get here "As much as I hate Golems they are usefull." said as she follows up with "They seem slow."

The movement of Sasha and Serraphine grab the remaining pair of golems' attention. They move towards them, striking at both of them and leaving them battered once more.

Kore leaps towards another and bashes it over and over again, Kore style!

Which means it might not notice her ever even as it begins to crumble beneath her flurry. It's still with it, but nearly done for.

Morgan gets up the stairs towards the exit "And to think deamons are ahead."


Iskandar punches the column. There's a series of small cracking noises. His expression lights up and he punches again. More cracking, and chips and flakes start to fall off. One final blow and the last enemy crumbles. The adventurer rubs his aching knuckles before turning to head after Morgan and the others.


Sasha says, "I was thinking undead." She says as she carefully makes her way up. "This is only gonna get worse. ugh." She says softly. "Keep your eyes open.""


You arrive upstairs.

Morgan is there first, in time to see the wererats engaged with the cultists. The battle had been going well for the team of assasins, given the bodies of the cultists in the central chamber you're emerging out into. They had brutally dispatching them without reservation. These are not heroes. These are not good guys. These are not you.

...but they're now on the receiving end of a rather brutal tearing-down by the hands of a creature. Two bat-winged creatures, tall and lanky, but still within the realm of human are ripping them in twain with their bared, clawed hands. Fortunately for the lycanthropes, this isn't bypassing their inanture regeneratioon and it would appear that they are healihg through even these potent injuries, but it's definitely taking them out of the fight. The twin fiends whirl on you, their tongues lolling out of their mouthws as they speak, finishing each other's sentences.

"...more prey..."

"...come to play, yes? You shall never pass! You shall not claim the shard!"
