When last we left our heroes, they were busily standing in the mortuary. There's a couple of off shoot rooms to either side of you and another leading up further into the Animusite temple.

Sasha says, "hmm.....This would be the time where Kore would tell us which direction to go."

Morgan sighs "So much to record here.... lets move on." she is a bit bumed out but knows she can come back with more people. "I would say the extra rooms we might find something usefull in them for you all to use."

Sasha says, "Limited resources too, Morgan."

Iskandar frowns. "These aren't just rooms...down here it is more likely that they would be burial chambers. Anything we found here would be taken from the dead." He shakes his head. "Our real quarry is above."

Sasha says, "Yeah. We don't really want to do that."

Serraphine is staring between them all, and now is slowly edging toward the way she thinks is most likely 'out' and/or 'up'. "If the skeletons were some sort of warning measure, then we should go faster as they'll know we're here." Edge... edge.. I totally had no bearing on her being out of cookies.

Morgan nods "Just giving ideas I dont mind pressing on and avoiding more of the undead."

"Up" Kore agrees quietly. "Let's get moving then." She is moving after Serraphine now, walking with her usual careful grace. "And thank you for your faith," she'll tell Sasha with a brief smile as she passes. "We'd best hurry up."

"The stairs... They have drains for blood. They should be in the mortuary, but they're here as well..." Kore is staring at the staircase, lifting a hand to stop the rest of the party. "I don't like the look of this at all. And in either cae... I am going to have to check for alarms and traps. This---- is probably a bad sign." So this being the case she approaches the stairs and begisn to explore them, small hands working nimbly across the stone as she searches for the triggers she expects. "Just a moment. Keep an eye out for skeletons and infernal monsters from nightmare realms?"

Morgan looks to the stairs "tricky buggers." there is a impressed look on her face.

Sasha looks behind them and keeps an eye out....as best as she can.

Kore is able to disarm the alarms with relative ease.

And that leaves just going up, which works well enough for the moment. As you go up the stairs, carefully of course, you all hear a grinding sound. The drains on the sides that Kore indicated begin spitting out...green... fluid?

Is this some sort of enbalming thing? Or, no.. wait, it's something else...

When the sticky green fluid begins to pour out of the drains Kore takes a deep breath. "RUN!" She's shouting at the top of her lungs. It turns out she has quite a set of those as well. No one's heard her scream before, and it's- piercing. The Monk takes her own advice and starts sprinting up the staircase. She's already producing a set of... Thieves' tools?

Sasha says, "Slime coming our way guys! Green slime! MOVE!!!" And she starts running. "MOVE IT PEOPLE!!""

Morgan curses a few bad words as she lifts off the ground "THats Green slime, these people know their traps." she backs away getting spells ready.

Serraphine fronw, "It doesn't look edible." Serraphine sighs and begins to clomp along in her fullplate with the group. "What is it?" Clank, clank, clank, clank.

Iskandar backs away, letting the others pass him so that he can bring up the rear. "Green Slime? And that's bad?" He's turned halfway to one side now, so that he can watch the slime. He tried to judge how fast it moves.

You reach the top of the stairs and tbe door is, of course, locked.

It doesn't open.

Meanwhile, the slime is starting to rise. Starting to crawl slowly up the stairs, step by step...

Great.

Morgan says to Serraphine "It is a monster used as a trap a lot, it will quickly poison your health each time it touches you." she is trying to remember how to combat it or stop it.

Good news, everyone!

Kore is right. This is a time to run. The green slime is rising behind you, the door ELECTRIFIES and zaps the hell out of Kore and then /gas/ begins to seep from under the door, alarms going off as she manages to jimmy it open.

Loud. Blaring. Alarms.

GREAT.

Still, a hazy gas, electricity, alarms, and a another flight of stairs up to the main floor of the temple at last.

All you have to do is hold your breath and not inhale the gas.

The lightning from the doorc /arced off Kore/ and onto the lot of you, as well.

"MOVE!" Sasha yells as she runs for the door. the slime hurts like hell, and the gas burns her eyes....making her act without thinking.....

Serraphine quickly holds her breath and stares as Sasha bursts forth passed her. She blinks, and then reaches down as whatever it is that's harming the group - gas, electricity, acid... whatever it is! It makes her grimace.

Annoyance.

But not so annoying she doesn't lean over, pick up Kore, and carry her up the stairs after Sasha.

You emerge from the top of the stairs into a rooom. A series of marble statues, old priests of Animus, line the walls on either side of you.

And guess what?

They all just stepped off their pedestals, all six of them, and are now moving towards you with their staves raised. When you're all mangled. And poisoned.

Iskandar is swaying on his feet. Could the slime really have been worse than the other traps? Morgan teleports poor Kore ahead, and Iskandar follow through the open door. He falters when he sees the statues moving in. Then he grins. "I'll take the three on the left!" he bellows. As good as his word, he hurls himself into their midst and punches a chip out of one of the statues.

Sasha...still not exactly at her best faculties, gets to a spot where she figures everyone is nearby, and calls for Althea's blessing. Everyone feels a little better from getting rather hurt from the traps they were hit by.

Constantin gets himself in the front, shield out, sword up, even as his skin still smokes from the electrical charge. As the statue advances, he swings wildly to no effect.

Morgan says "Good luck." and then says a few words in a arcane words that sends a energy that helps to make the world seem just a bit slower. With that she goes all the way up hoping the pillars are only looking down.

Serraphine's eyes twitch as she set Kore down and then Kora stands up.

Teamwork is an amazing thing.

But it's not because Kore that there is a twitching eye, that is an entirely different reason. Because they're one step closer, and there is still no cookies. #RealWorldProblems. Her mouth pulls into a deeper frown as she looks from one person to the next, and that's when she decides to lift up her sword which has the symbol of Serriel on the pommel. "Cookies for Serriel, Cookies for all!" A pause, "Healing from... and healing for... You know what. Forget it. We need to hurry up, I miss Acleese."

The columns move with grace and precision, bringing their staves to bear. Iskandar's armor is clanged against. One advances on Kore and Morgan, swinging at Kore on the ground, though the monk is able to roll out of the way. Two are now on Serraphine and another is on Sasha and the last manages to slasm hits staff into the ground in front of Constantin.

Up above, you can hear the sounds of men and women shouting as the alarms blare. Seems they've been caught with their pants down, so to speak. A high pitched shriek can be heard. The rats. Thast has to be them.

Sasha didn't stop praying, even as Serraphine made her own prayer. By now, everyone's wounds should be mended, even Kore, who was KO-ed. "Is everyone okay?"

Kore is rolling around on the ground now, having ocome to staring into th face of an animate, murderous statue. She lashes out with kicks from her back, smashing stone with each of those blows despite the fact she is, at this point, striking with bare feet. "Gah!" Kore calls, yelping. Eventually, however, the statue drives its weapon toward her skull and she slides beneath it. This provides her an opportunity to grab onto its left leg. The Monk grunts with effort, gritting her teeth as she drags the statue to the ground. It topples, and shatters into a thousand pieces.

Constantin flurries, sped up, against the statue, blade *ting*ing off of the hard stone. The last one jars his hand and he winces as he spares a glance at his edge. "Oh hell." Still, there's no damage, but that shook him a bit.

Serraphine continues to frown, her sword grasped in both her hands as she brought the sword down in an overhead blow. A sweep back in the opposite direction as she chopped down, "You are in our way!" She furrows her brow, both hits connecting even if the second made a weird reverberating clang.

Morgan mutters a few curses that are very vile, but the languages switches to the arcane one as she sends two firelances at it and says "Crap they are golems.... fucking golems."

The remaining columns are in some cases damaged, but their staves are wielded with deadly efficiency in an exchange of blows, bringing injuries and bruises to Serraphgine, Sasha and Constantin.

Above, the soiunds of havoc are growing louder...
