  • Title: Hold my Beer
  • Emitter: Braelnoir
  • Characters: Braelnoir, Cryosanthia, Merek, Ezil, Kaelyn
  • Place: A07: Fernwood Pub
  • Time: Kesenday, Pryntar 21 23:44:33 1022
  • Summary: The Fernwood Pub is mostly empty. Braelnoir, the silver chimera who is not a monster, is taking dinner and hiding her meesy eating from what patrons there are. Cryosanthia arrives, worn out from the Goblin ceremony, and the communications aftermath. Both monster girls react badly when Merek teleports in front of them. Braelnoir leaps and sends her food everywhere, splashing Kaelyn. Cryosanthia jumps out a window instinctively. Ezil enters, in time for Cryo's angry re-entry where she questions whether Merek is playing a cruel joke on her. Kaelyn and Cryo summarize the events that occurred, how Merkabah has a new collossal monster loose. Cryo explains how these events sent her on a mostly frustrating fools errand, and she ultimately asks Braelnoir to fight her, because she really wants to pound on someone. Or get pounded, as it turns out. They agree to keep their claws in, and Braelnoir gets in a solid first shot. After this, Cryo turns out to be not too easy to hit, deflecting strikes, and avoiding trips and grabs. She also has trouble landing anything, although manages a good head shot after a feint. She follows that up by flipping herself on her back and straining her tail. She begs to stop, then the two embrace, bonding through combat. It's late, so everyone heads off to their various beds.

The common room of the Fernwood Pub dominates the inn, spacious and airy because of the high, vaulted ceiling. Ornately carved beams of dark, polished wood form a lattice overhead, supporting the arched roof two storeys above the floor. To the right of the double-door entry is a spiral staircase, winding upwards to a balcony that rings and overlooks the main area. Large windows at this level grant an excellent view of the river to the west and colorful market stalls to the north and east. An air of coziness is salvaged by keeping the pub dimly lit; parchment-shrouded mana lanterns hang at intervals from the base of the balcony, nestled amongst lush, magically propagated ivy and ferns that grow over this false demi-ceiling and the struts that support it.

The bar is sleek and simple, comprised of meticulously polished black lacquer. Tables are set under the darker niches formed by the balcony floor as well as on the balcony itself. A few are deliberately sized to accommodate halflings and gnomes, but the majority are meant for human-sized individuals. A large common table is on the main floor, set before a semi-circular stage situated against the western wall. Beside it, with pipes mounted upon the wall and running up past the balcony and almost to the ceiling, is a refurbished pipe organ made to look like the one lost when the Fernwood was destroyed during the Merkabah Siege.

It's a night in the Fernwood, folks are buzzing, others are well past that point, and others are working on it. One silvery figure in the last category sitting with her fetlocks crossed, back against the lip of the stage cradling a tankard between her paws. The scales make it hard to tell by blush how far in Brae is, and there is a sort of partition up on her table, mostly a couple of small planks stacked against each other so she can tuck in on what's left on her meal without being a horror show for the other guests. Whatever she's eating smells pretty meaty, and a dark towel is laying in her lap.

The door thumps once, as if something heavy fell against it and missed the handle. There's a rattling and then it is shouldered open, letting in damp cold air and a white-scaled sith-makar who seems on the exhausted side. Her tail is dragging and her step lacks its usual bounce. She exhales hard, looks at the bartender and waves her hand in the air, communicating in the secret language of service workers: I'm worn out, give me a strong one. Silently a mug is shoved her way as she clomp-stomps towards the kitchen. She turns her head, "Oh, Peace on your nest Braelnoir."

GAME: Merek casts Dimension Door. Caster Level: 8 DC: 19

Merek wears the nice red-black longcoat which he keeps with him, while he takes a moment to look from the street into the Fernwood. With that, he then teleports clean into the place, appearing before Cryosanthia and Brael, with a nod!

Braelnoir smiles and toasts Cryo with the takard between her paws, "'ey, Cryo! How ya doin, luv?" She gets that far along in the conversation when someone suddenly appears right next to her and, thus surprised into an eloquent, "Th'fu-!??" the transmuted merc's drink is in freefall on a scant instant before she is, as her startled push to her feet fails to take into account the extra navigation it takes to uncross legs in that particular position and the chimera's dignity ends with a hoof dangling over the seat of her chair, and what was left of her somewhat raw and claw ravaged plate of meat chunks all over her.

"RRRWWWARRRRRECHHHH!" The sith-makar reacts less gracefully than the silver chimera. Something that sounds like a cross between a reptile hunting roar, and raw fear, screaches from her mouth. In one very fluid movement she's flung her drink, mug and all thrown herself out the window. She was moving before she even saw who apeared, the shimmer was enough. It was a spectacularly adept move, clearly she keeps the location of windows in mind at all times, and she's heavy enough the window doesn't stand a chance. It shatters, shutters and all. Out in the street her voice is loud and angry, "Maugrin Resurgant! Don't do that Merek!"

Merek looks then to Brae as well as Cryo, with a nod between the two, "Ah, my apologies. I am back from... Well, you know," he says, then to the sith-makar which escaped, a look to the chimera, "You are doing well?" he asks.

There's a slight grumble from the floor as Brae slips her leg off of the chair, holding up a paw spattered with beef juices and dark beer, "'imme ah min't..." She rolls to her side and brings that paw to the back of her head before she gathers a hoof under her.... and straightens up right under the lip of the table. Ok, that only kinda hurt. Swearing or at least making slurry mouth noises indicative of swearing under her breath, she reaches a paw up over the lip of the table and tries to pull herself up, "Oh, hey Merek...!" she offers, trying to keep the side effects of the new knot on her head out of her smile.

Ezil enters quickly, his cloak pulled tight as the door opens with a chill gust, but is promptly shut. A hand raises to pull back his hood as a glance is shot about the room. His other hand was on his scimitar, but shifts away from the hilt as he notices the source of the breaking glass. He looks tired, but he relents his tension. Sighing, he paces slowly towards the bar and places an order with a few words. He's soon crossing towards Merek, even smiling to Braelnoir with a subtle nod. "Hallo." his usual cheery greeting given with little enthusiasm, but sincere all the same. "Did I miss something? Why do we need to pay for a new window this night?" turning to poke his head out and see what's going on in the street.

Aaand well, there was poor Kae, she was on her way down the stairs and well now she's got food, beer, and other stuff all over her? "Greese, glitter, now food." she mutters and then finishes going down the stairs, looks around, and shakes her self, much like a dog might....

She then peers over at the window Cryo jumped out of curiously... "Ummmmmm......

Kae looks around some more, her long tail lashing once before she rears up and walks on just her back legs this time to the fire place, where she flops down, balancing on her haunches, her tail kind of allowing her to sit much like a kind of antural tripod affect.

"Your horse is tied up outsie. I said meet me at the Fernwood. Not Teleport in like a Charnath Wizard about to drag me off to a slaver dungeon!" Cryo stamps back into the Fernwood, claws scraping at the floor. She looks at the bartender, but he shakes his head. She threw her free drink away. Her eyes are a very bright blue as she stares at Merek. "I asked you for a Teleport spell! You said use your horse. You made me ride to Mictlan. Alexandria. Then you teleport in front of me? Silver Empress! Is this a long form human joke? This one does not understand!"

"I can only teleport about 800 feet, I was on the street," Merek says, while he nods a bit to Cryosanthia, then he looks to Ezil, as well as to Brae with Kae, "It is likely with the city the way it is, as well as the... Politics of the thing, we will likely be fighting in the ancient city."

Braelnoir takes some time and care to get her head clear of the table and, maybe digging in a little more with her claws than she needs to, pulls herself up to her hooves before relying on her forelimbs for stability, her tail a little lethargic for some reason, "Hey Kae, hey Eezee!" She looks over the room as a shredded strip of steak slides down from her hair off her shoulder, "Wha's got everyone s'down?"

"Tired, not down." Ezil notes the difference with a raise of his hand, wiggling it from side to side at Braelnoir as he gauges something. If he notices the mess, he doesn't speak of it. "It's one part...." pausing as Merek's words get his attention and his mind skips like an old record. "The ancient city is open? What did I miss? I heard noise, and felt the ground shake, but..." not seeming to finish most of his thoughts today. He did say he was worn out.

Kae ummms "Wierdness witht he Gobbos and that Artifice town popping back up.. Oooh and giga annoying kiddo gobbo.." She says andrubs the back of her neck again... "I mean, compleeeeete Wierdness!" She says and waggles her arms.... She then siighs "And I finally got all that mess out of my floof after the gobbo thingie... I'mma gonna has to go clean off again." She mutters to her self as she pulls some food out of her mane... She tosses it in the fire.

The white sith stares at Merek in disbelief. Silently she turns and walks to the kitchen. She slaps coins on the bar as she passes, "Drinks for all." Through the swinging doors, there's some banging. She returns with two plates of fish, large fish with heads attached, seemingly baked in their skins. She gets the drinks and thumps the lot down on Braelnoir's table. "Things that need to be known. Goblins are building a giant airship for Blar in the suburbs of Merkabah. Angry young goblin children, apparently, can use artifice devices and transform into gargantuan mechanical dragon war-golems. One has done so, and is stomping around the Airship and Alexandria. The Airship will change the political power balance, and the Arvec Nar are building fortifications because it's not finished and the goblin child will not be told what to do anymore."

Cryosanthia exhales hard, glares at her drink, says, "So la tea doe," and downs half of it.

Merek nods a bit, "What they said, I can pay for drinks," then he smiles a bit, while he finds a place to settle in tiredly.

Ezil takes a moment, closing his eyes and forcing breath before he nods to Cryo's words. He steps towards her, and raises a hand to pat the Sith-Makar's shoulder. "That's a lot to process. You sound upset, White-One. I know it's rough, but.... our job is just beginning." looking to the others with his tired glance, focusing between Braelnoir and Merek. "I suspect the Guild will be posting billets over it. We need to be vigilant, and make sure we do what we can." his paladin showing for a moment before he sighs and finds a seat.

"I don't like any of this either." Ezil notes to Cryo, shifting and tossing his cloak over one shoulder so he can get comfortable. "I was questioning a man about a murder, it's a shame I missed out."

Braelnoir looks down at her meat stained dress and notices little gobs of meat sticking to her in various places after seeing Kaelyn start to clean, "Aw, hells, luv, I'm sorry." She considers the lot in turns while they speak, her mood sobering inasmuch as the blood in her alchohol system allows it to. Her background being what it is, is actually a fair amount of sobering, enough for her to consider the other folks in the tavern before she looks where she's going and settles in, a soft, clinical, "So we're expecting someone to start a war." follows.

Merek nods a bit, "Well, it is a possibility," he says then to Brae.

Kaae peeerrrs at Cryo... "That mecha kiddy gobbo.. He used an artifice, a blueprint to do what he did.... It wears off after a while... The airship? That's a different critter.... Still though, they are a ways from finishing it..." She adds and shrugs.... "I know of a couple like it though, a few pirate birds like that too... " She says and waggles her arms some... "Aaanyhoo, if that kid used what I think, it won't be like all the time, he'll have to revert and redo it after a while, I think..."

"This one has explained it three times. First, to Mictlan, who were attentive and accepting. Then to Alexandrian Gate Guards, who were unwilling to let me in past curfew despite... Hundreds? of others also attempting entry. Next, the Alexandrian City Defense, who had already heard from Murder but delayed for ages just hear me out and say they knew already. Finally, again now in less detail. It's there. Go look. The artifice city is blown open, any can enter." Cryosanthia knocks her head back against the wall, then drinks the rest of her drink down, "It's not enough to feel useless in the face of everything. A child and a blueprint? That's all it takes to become an Artifice war machine. Are you sure it will revert? Maybe it's broken the way your stolen artifact is, and it simply will get stronger. No wonder it's hated magic. And you Merek, one day you'll find something that frightens you, and one night it will appear behind you when you're all out of spells. And that's when you'll understand how I feel right now. Silver scales!"

Why is my drink empty already? The mug lands heavy on the table and she rips a hunk out of the baked fish.

Kae tilts her head "Well look at me now?" She asks curiously, motioning to her self... "Think I'm any differnt than what that Kid has become? ignoring well scale and shape..." She says, and motions to Brael "Or Brae there?" She asks... "It's pretty much the same thing, magic being used, strong artifice which casts the magic for you." She adds... "It still takes ability to make the artifice... however what sets it apart from a spell, is an artificer can make a device... That device has been made from a blueprint. Once that device is made it basically makes magic... Now here's the difference.. A Sorcerer, they can cast a spell, It generally takes immediate affect, Wizards too, or they can put it into a scroll... It takes magical ability, and knowledge to use that scroll, or cast that spell... The artifice? Well anyone can use it..." Kae says and tilts her head... "An artificer could litterally build dozens of those devices, hand them to folks who never use magic, they could activate it and you have dozens of those giant war-mechs." She says and sighs "Aaand that's the biiig catch with Artificing... We litterally make enchanted items that anyone and everyone can use..."

Kae umms "Annyhoos, it's like any other powerful thing, it can be used for good, or ill... Those folks who lived in that cursed city, they used it for ill, got too full of them selves, and instead of improving lives for everyone out there, they reached for more power..> Probably more power than they should, challenged the gods and got slapped down for it.. Problem is, it nearly destroyed the world."

Kae grins.. "And to be honest, that Bull really pisses me off... Artifice should be used respectfully, for the betterment of everyone." She says and shrugs... "Aand it should be respected, -bbecause- of its easy to use nature."

Ezil furrows a brow, digging at the pouch at his side and taking out a set of beads. They don't cover the entire string they are tied too, and look almost like a necklace of some sort. Each bead is different, carved from wood or bone as he looks up to Cryosanthia. "White-One." trying to grab her attention as he tosses them her way. "Focus on those for a bit. Count them, run a claw over them. Just think about the patterns, doing it one by one until your mind finds some calm." calm words and a smile flashed after his words.

The Tsuran then sighs a second time as he turns to regard Braelnoir. "I don't know, but only a fool would thing that the Guild won't respond in some way. An airship is a big deal, but what lays under the ruins.... it's a bigger deal. The unknown drives fear, and if there are relics intact, the wrong hands will make this worse." raising his glance to Kaelyn and just giving a single nod to her words. It's not his specialty.

Braelnoir frowns a little more and considers Cryosanthia as she vents, clucking her tongue once before the takes up her drink between her paws and takes a swig. Still cradling the tankard between her paws, her eyes turn to Kaelyn as she explains, the occaisional dip in her gaze, or narrowing of her eyes betraying her mind at work. With Ezil's declaration, she returns, "The Guild's invested almost everywhere. Whatever it decides t'do will be off the books. It a'most has to be."

Merek also seems very tired, nodding in his seat and mumbling, "Crazy timf, my apoologym yiu cab gi ariynd ..."

"I'm already doing that. It's not working." Cryo waves her hands at Ezil's beads, although she doesn't seem to have any of her own and what's she's talking about isn't clear. She ends up catching the kompoloi and putting it down beside her unfinished meal.

"I don't know what you are Kaelyn and clearly the device wasn't respected because three generations of goblin family and one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalpyse on a Worg couldn't keep the lid on." She answers the Feather Dragon, although some of her comments trickle through.

Cryo's attention shifts to Braelnoir, a very predatory focus with her eyes narrow. "Hey. Do you want to see what that new body of yours can do? Really throw down? I want to pound on something right now. How about it? Not too drunk to fight? We can move some tables."

Kae blinks and peeeerrrrs at Cryo... "You really wanna fites?" She asks curiously, and tilts her head to the right, now... "Ummmm I can possibibbbly just stand around and let you hit me all you wants and stuff? I'm pretty durned resiliant if it'd make youf eels better." She says cheerfully. Is she serious?

Kae then umms "Oh and I can shield my self and stuff too, buut wouldn't that be better than tearing the place up with a fight?"

Braelnoir's amber eyes swivel toward Cryosanthia as she starts her remarks, holding to her face, well into her venting on Kaelyn. When it turns to her, however, there's a tiny cant of her head, a rekindled life in her tails and it's during Kaelyn's rebuttal that Brae manages to get to her hooves. "She needs feedback, Kaelyn, by Kor." her paws shift sideward to hold the tankard to whomsoever is nearby, she flatly intones, "Hold my Beer."

Ezil takes that beer, standing from his seat and placing the cup on the table's top. "I would rather we took this to the Champion's temple, but..." he's already dragging a table out of the way as they speak. "I will tend the wounds after... but let's not have it be messy." taking the position of referee as he looks to the bar keep and eyes that fall on the small party.

"If you both are intent, I will only stop it if it gets too wild... but we're all friends here, yes?" The Tsuran notes, going about the task of clearing the two a ring, and in that time onlookers begin to whoop and gather.

Cryosanthia slides smoothly to her feet and pushes some tables away, turning them on their sides, and moving the benches to the walls, stacking them. The Fernwood is already down a window. She gives Ezil an odd look, "Of course? I'm not mad at her."

The placcard takes a couple of tries to get off from around her neck, and Brae sets it onto a chair. She steps away from the table in a slowly widening circle, flexing her 'fingers', extending and retracting her claws.

With the challenge dropped, it wouldn't be a question how the Korite would answer. With a proper Korite, it couldn't be. Brae's breathing slows as she alters her course some to bring her into striking range and, even as she rocks slightly to one side by her trailing paw, she ripples a strike down from her leading shoulder that flexes both elbow and wrist to bring the back of her paw across Cryosanthia's face with a solid >Thmp!<

Another blink and Kae sits on her haunches and just well, waaatches.. "Ookaaaay.." She says and peeers. She tilts her head to the left, then the right, then shrugs and lays down, keeping her head upright as she watches the fight curiously.

Cryo moves forward and walks straight into Braelnoir's paw swipe. Solidly, perfect, wouldn't have been better with painted targets. It knocks her head, and she flings a fist back, which is nicely aimed but still misses.

Still wanting to pull Cryo out, Braelnoir sidles a bit to one side and bunches her shoulder to try and throw another, more thrusting bow toward the sith's belly this time, though her hoof slips on a piece of errant meat, throwing her thrust wide and leaving her wide open for Cryo to take advantage.

Cryo takes the advantage, curling back and sweeping the stomach punch away and moving into backfist at Braelnoir's head, attempting to return the solid one to the face she took. She doesn't. It misses. As does her follow-up punch, which also hits air. The sith's tail coils from side to side, her toes scratching the floor.

Ezil watches as the fight enters it's third round, but the first exchange seems it was more luck for the boozy Braelnoir. He is growing interested, the two seeming intent to see this through and Cryosanthia is holding her own for now.

Braelnoir's eyes brighten as it seems the desired effect is starting to bear out, albeit with her somewhat disturbing stumble. There is suddenly something past Cryo that makes her blink, vaguely bewildered even as she's commited herself to throwing forward another body blow, this a hook to the ribs on the other side of her first attempt. And again she looks at something... yonderly.

There's something odd too, so there's a transformed woman who's some kind of chimera, fighting with a Sith Makar, in the middle of the bar, there's a large, feathered dragon like critter in front of the fire place, layed down with their forepaws crossed whilst watching the whole fight curiously, Ears flicking forward and then she'd tilt her head and so on..."

Finally Kaelyn (The dragon thingie) asides to Ezil.. "Ummmm.... so how long will this go on?"

Ezil shrugs, wincing again as he sees Cryosanthia take that blow to her ribs. "I don't know, but it's...." looking away from a moment. Even if it is just a bit of fun to burn out the hot-blood, he doesn't seem to like friends beating on friends.

Cryo tries something different, moving for a grab. It's one of her species signature moves! It is also, not one she has mastered. She doesn't even come close to getting a good grip.

Brae decides to go on the offensive for now and, with a subtle scrape as her hoof pivots slightly, she pushes off into a lunge, though, again, the squirmy sith manages to evade her... and more.

The singing and flicking her hand seemed to work, as Braelnoir lunges for her she twists again, and manages a good palm-heel against the silvery chimera's forehead. It mostly hits horns, but there's was still a thump.

Ezil claps as Cryosanthia finally slips passed Braelnoir's guard and lands a hit with a swift turn. Though she misses with her next attack he still cheers. "Good going!" he calls, having finally looked back to the fight.

Cryo slinks around, encouraged. She has her hands up, but whips her hips and puts her tail in, trying for a solid slap. The sith really out does herself, throwing all her weight into it, the thin tip aiming like a whip. Everything looks like it's going to connect solidly, until it doesn't.

Cryo overbalances, and despite her claws digging in, slips on some of the food on the floor. She goes down with a bounce, lies sprawled, "Ow. Ow my tail. I want to stop now."

She raises her hands at Braelnoir.

Braelnoir's head snaps back on the smack to her forehead and the chimera rocks back onto the back hoof reflexively to absorb the impact, and as she reorients her gaze on target, forepaws coming up, she hesitates and steps forward. Clop... her eyes soften... clop... lips part in an easy smile... clop... and the silver figure throws her arms around the sith and lifts for a firm squeeze.

Cryosanthia allows herself to be gathered and pulled up. She holds onto Braelnoir, also hugging tight and resting her head a little down her back. Long necks allow that. "Thanks. I needed that. It helped so much." She squeezes again.

Ezil stands from where he had been resting, looking to the two with a soft smirk. "Do I need to tend the lumps, or are you two okay?" his glance darting between them as he waits to see what comes next.

Kae stares curiously... She then ummms... "Ookie, well, um after that, I know Bare's staying here, Cryo? I know you know where I stay, yer welcome to the bed, I don't fit in it.." She says simply and gets to her feet now, and then smiles "Good night everyone!" Before Kae goes up the stares...

Braelnoir nuzzles the white scales next to her cheek as her paws rub the Sith's back, "Think we both did, luv. Can go again anytime ya need." she says gently, intending the words to be for Cryo's ears only, though the room is only so big. With Ezil's question, she slackens, but doesn't release the embrace fully just yet, just looking to Kaelyn and Ezil, "She got me pretty good, luv, but I'll keep, thank you." Then, "How bout you, I... didn't hit ya anyplace tender did I?" She looks after Kaelyn as she departs with a, "Night, Kae!"

"I think I pinched a nerve. So I need you to pull my tail and gradually increase the tension. Not so hard you pull it off, and I'll stretch against that." Cryosanthia instructs Ezil.

She nods, cheek rubbing, her arms are still, simply holding on to Brealnoir. She chuckles, "I learned that getting hit in my head still hurts. I'll be ok. I don't get pounded for fun, really! How about you, did you learn anything? Your hooves were moving in an interesting way, you had a strange look once. You seem a lot better with your paws, at least in the wacking department. You are impossible to grab, you know that?"

"Night Kaelyn!" Cryo adds, as the feather dragon goes upstairs.

Ezil offers a single nod, moving to help as he's instructed. He doesn't immediately touch her tail, letting the two have their moment as he just kneels in position where he will be needed, and running his hands together as he looks up to Kaelyn as she leaves, and giving a wave after his hands are warm. "Let me know when you're ready." the paladin having gone mostly quiet, but Braelnoir earns a soft smirk. "I offer all the same. You are tough, but tough doesn't mean you have to put up with it." he muses with a soft tone. "Just let me know when, White-One."

Braelnoir nods, "I learned you got a tricky mind an' a good grasp o'tactics." the mercenary replies fondly, "Clever little minx. But yeah, goin' in I started a bit defensive, but it seems, the knee setup makes evasion a little more automatic, doesn't it? I couldn't get a hand on you if I wasn't just tryin' ta put it upside yer head." She looks to Ezil, then Cryo, "Need me t'help somehow?"

She considers the other question then, "I swear I thought I saw a beer fairy pop in shortly after yer first swing."

"I've found running straight at things doesn't work so well for me. I look for edges to use. Those knees do make it hard to guess your movements, the telegraphing is off. It was, really interesting. I think I'm okay..." Cryosanthia loosens her embrace, sliding apart so she's holding elbows and Braelnoir is holding hers, "... A beer fairy? Wow. Heh! I hope I'll see one sometime. Let me just balance a sec here."

Steading herself on Braelnoir, she has her legs in a solid stand, "Okay Ezil, pull, little more, more tension. Okay, hold that." She adjusts her hips, slowly twisting them to the left, holding and pulling. Then she rotates them the other way. The muscles in her legs are visible as she makes some minor adjustments, tilting. There is nothing dramatic, no 'pop', only Cryo relaxing and doing a wriggle.

"Okay, that's got it. Thanks, both of you. Sorry I lost it earlier. It was building up too much and I kept pushing it down."

Warm hands were on that tail, Ezil lightly pulling on it as he leans back to help her stretch. The paladin isn't usually one to cheat, but the warmth of his hands would grow just a bit as his unseen aura flares, and his energy seeps slowy into Cryosanthia's body. It would tingle, the wounds being washed away with the little power his blessing give him, but he doesn't try to make it noticable. "Well, I am glad I could help." he notes, letting go and stepping away.

The Tsuran still looks tired, moving to get that forgotten beer for Braelnoir, and offer it before he goes to clean and replace the tables. It seems tonight he's a man of few words.

There's a bit of a winsome smile and she nods, "I been there before, more'n once. Seen it plenty o'times in the Stride, even with Rolson." there's something in the name Brae intones, but she changes topics, "I got beef gunk all over me when Mer popped in. I should get me a bath in."

Cryosanthia nods, smiling a little. Mostly, she looks tired. The warmth that snuck in was welcome. She holds up a hand, wiggling it, "Are you okay setting up? Need some help with finger things, or the paws can do it? I'm going to stay here. You should too. There's places."

Her eye ridges furrow, "Did Kae invite me to sleep on her? Anyhow Ezil, there are beds about. Kae's, some in the back. I've slept on... that table, there. It's not too bad."

"I have a room to find in a bit. Don't worry about me." Ezil's hand waving off Cryosanthia's concern, his task seeming to put the pub back to right, moving the tables.

"You two go on, this won't take me too long." Ezil's smile flashed to them both, but the man seems set to do this much so that the staff doesn't have too. There is already the issue of the window, but that will have to wait till the morning he suspects.

"Think Kae was sayin' she doesn't fit on her bed, so you can use it." Brae replies, but, "I'm not sure if the paws can manage it, honestly. But, I'm up in room seven, gonna see if I can get the bath drawn, anyway." She looks to Ezil for a moment as he gets laconic and says, "A'ight, Eezee, you have a good one, okay?"

"I'll give you a hand until you've got the rest. No need to be frustrated before sleeping. The servers have a room they can use, so that's a couple options. Let's go. Thanks for re-setting the tables Ezil. See you tomorrow." The white sith clears the table of food into the kitchen, then comes back and follows Braelnoir to give her any assistance she needs. Her steps up the stairs are much lighter than the ones she used coming in earlier, so ... things are better.

Dramatis Personae

Braelnoir
Another day in the big city.
A curious figure, this, possessed of facial features fitting an Acanian woman of perhaps twenty years with fine, even features and stern eyebrows over wolflike amber eyes. Raven hair, knife shorn to a toussled shag, fluffs out from her scalp to drape down and obscure most of her shoulderblades. Her torso largely carries to a human shape, with slightly broader shoulders, suggesting perhaps an additional Aesir heritage, though her arms are more muscular, ending at shimmering leonine forepaws, and her legs crook into a hooved deerlike format a little past her calves. Around the base of her spine, a long, slender tail extends about two and a half feet before splitting in two; capped after two more feet with spaded tips. A multitude of miniscule silver scales turns her skin in a somewhat clouded mirror, save where a smooth, bone white scar from a brand rules the knot of muscle at her right shoulder, framing the silhouette of a howling skull within the outline of a heart. Her voice is a smokey tennor, accented to the particulars of Stormgarde. The only 'jewelry' upon her person is a copper earring in her left ear, from which dangles a small brass skeleton, and an ornate gold ring around one of the digits of her left forepaw.
In light of recent regrettable developments, hanging from her neck by a leather thong is a small placcard with the words, 'I am not a monster' over the stamp of the City Watch.
She has taken some pains, perhaps with assistance, to modify and affix a short, rather plain cotton dress to her altered personage. The ragged hems of the short sleeves and skirt suggest some difficulties in managing this solo.
