  • Summary: Somewhere in the woods, Skielstregar is having a bad day with his forgotten side. Dazed, irrationally angry, and staggering about, he tries to find his camp once more. He's trailed by Tawyse and Vaera, both of them approaching him in their own manner. They try to calm him down after he yells at a crow, and he warns to take it slow near him. Veara doesn't heed this, and is almost hurled, but Skiel staggers and whiffs it. Vaera chides him lightly, both give him food, and help lead him back to Tawyse's camp to recover.

The Wilderness, Dusk.

The smattering of clouds above makes nightfall come sooner than later. What little stars and the moon shone through reflected off fresh snowfall from the days prior. Save for one, meandering trail that breaks out of the forest into a small clearing.

Blazing a new trail through the fresh snow was a lumbering figure stumbling about. Black ichor drips from his maw and stains the snow, eyes red and gleaming. A set of double fangs present on a their maw as foot long talons scrape against the snowtops.

Anything caught downwind can smell dread. The birds do, them flying away as it washes over them.

The staggering figure has no armor on save for a tunic, and was using a spear as a walking stick to keep them wandering on all fours. "... musssst... find... the... the camp... where.. issss... Vaera.... can't..." they growl.

Another set of birds take off near them, and their jaw gnashes in their direciton with a wet snap. But then they push a hand against their head, huffing. "... focussssss..."

They stagger on.

Trailing along, somewhere behind the hulking figure is a wee Gnome. She pauses from time to time to examine the snowy ground. The footprints seem .. familiar, though the occasional droplets of black ichor also draw her eye.

Looking skyward as an attempted murder of crows flies by, cawing, Tawyse smiles faintly.

A few moments later, another crow takes to the sky. It circles the large figure a few times, cawing noisily. Pest. Tease. Tormentor. It drops down onto a branch overhanging the path Skielstregar seems set upon, and caws noisily once more.

The fact that Skielstregar had not returned back to Mictlan yet that nigh was a concern to the dark red makari, and so, she had gathered her bow, and left her camp to go out and search for the bronzescale. She moved slowly and quietly through the forest, and it was not hard to find a trail in the snow, especially when someone was not trying to conceal themselves, or was incapable of doing so. And in following the trail, she comes across a gnome. Vaera walks up to them, one leg shining dully from the remaining light. She holds up a hand to them. "Be wary, gnome, there may be dangers in the forest tonight. I am here to see to it." She warns them, gesturing down the path.

The lumbering figure catches himself against a tree with a hand, him panting as more black ichor drips to the ground before him.

The Forgotten makari snaps their head up at the cawing, lip pulls back into a fierce snarl. "Grrrrrr...- WHAT?!" he roars at the avian. "THISSS ONE IS TRYING RIGHT NOW AND DOESSSSN'T NEED YOUR SASSS!"

He cocks a fist back, and crashes it against the tree, taking a formidable chunk out of it. The splinters catch in his hand, adding in red with the black on the snowy ground.

He spits, and continues to lumber. Trying... trying to find... find camp...

The shaking of the tree causes the bird to flutter its wings, and cling to the branch more firmly. As the Forgotten lumbers on, the Crow takes flight, alighting on another branch a little further up the path ahead of Skiel-Hulk.

"Caw caw caaaaaw." The avian pauses to preen one of its feathers, before it gets back to drawing the Forgotten's attention.

No caws for concern.

Then the gnome becomes a bird before she can react, and the red makari chuffs and shakes her head as she watches it fly off to seem to harry the half forgotten man. She continues padding her way through the snow, picking up the pace now before they potentially decide to silence the crow.

"Skielstregar, I am here, please, calm yourself." She shouts out to them, putting the arrow back into the quiver at her side to wave at them, and appear less threatening. "What has brought this to your mind, Skielstregar? Find yourself at ease if you can."

Forgotten Skielstregar looks up at the crow once more, the red glean in his eyes growing stronger. "What, what, WHAT?!" he snarls at the bird before his hand clasps the side of his head. "Stop yelling. It... it isssn't helping..." he grolws, breathing heavily.

The voice calling out causes him to perk up, him whirling around and pointing his spear in their direction. "STAY BA-...ack..." his roar dies down to a snarl, the tip of the weapon lowers. "V... Vaera... thisss one is... trying. Just... a bad day... bad... bad day... isss... isss your sssscents gone?" he growls as one hand is trying to pry his fingers off his spear.

The crow flutters down to the ground, and a few moments later, Tawyse takes its place.

She holds out her bare hands, open and empty. "Skiel? It's okay. You're okay. You're out in the forest.", the Gnome says softly. "We're all friends here."

Vaera sighs, and nods to the deathly makari after he speaks, and she holds up her own hand. "I have no scents as usual, and can hide them with magic if needed. Or those of the gnome over there, as well." She offers, gesturing to the gnome holding her hands "She is, your friend, she says? Is she aware of what happens to you, on occasion? I would not give her cause for worry, if I can. But, you will not relax if you do not give yourself the ability to do so. It will be alright, just like other times."

Just as Skiel is about to get himself disarmed, suddenly there's a new person within perception. His crimson gaze snaps to Taw, pupils dilating wide. A heavy step is advanced towards her, almost breaking out into a dead on sprint.

But he peters out his speed by sprialing himself towards a tree and crashing into it. "Grr... don't... don't move so quickly.." he snarls at the newcomer.

He shakes his head. "No just.... jussst the kin scent, you know of it Vaera... Yess... thisss one knowsss of... of Taw... jussst... thisss one is sorry you sssee thisss one like thisss."

The Forgotten thuds his head against the tree. "... food. Do either of you have.... have food...?"

As Skiel is moshing against a tree, Tawyse wrinkles her nose as something wicked wafts on the wind. She pales, but nods her head. "I've got some trail mix. Nuts and berries." She kneels down slowly, gasping lightly, and wriggles out of her backpack. As the Gnome begins to rummage through her pack, she wonders, "Should I just leave it here and move up the path a bit?"

She shakes her head. "It's okay. I understand. Don't worry, everything will be okay."

If she doesn't hurl her cookies, that is.

When skielstregar runs into a tree, Vaera winces, and runs up to their side. "Be careful, Skielstregar, further injury may only worsen it." She warns. "I will be alright." She adds, before she looks to the gnome a ways away. "Though, perhaps I should use the spell on you?"

She reaches into a bag she had, fishing around. "I have some dried mangoes, if you wish. And meat, but it may not be best at the moment."

Skiel extracts himself, his face bleeding some now as he stumbles to the ground and falls to a knee. "... yes... jussst... leave it... there I ca-"

Then Vaera moves up on him. He whirls about on all fours, dropping the spear and meeting Vaera just as she's about to get to him. Without warning, a massive trunk of an arm careens out. Talons bared to slice. But at the last moment he ends up curling it away and whiffs his forearm, and stumbles back down. "This one said DON'T MOVE QUICKLY!" he snaps at Vaera. He was... very serious about that. "Treat this one like a cornered animal, Dragonfather's SCALES, do you not pay ATTENTION?"

His face twists in pain, and both hands go to his head. "... sorry, sorry sorry. Yesss.... that will work, just... move slow..."

The Gnome leaves a small cloth bag in the snow, and makes to pack up and leave. She ohs!, and rummages through her backpack again, and places something.. moving.. on top of the bag.

"It's chocolate. Nice and sweet.", Tawyse says cheerfully, before moving further up the path at a leisurely pace.

Vaera did not flinch when the hand came for her, and she stands firm, her metal leg digging into the ground, unbudging. But she does take a step back. "And you just ran into a tree." Vaera chuffs. "I am not going to leave you to crack your skull open on a trunk, I know what I am doing."

They finish reaching into their bag, and pull out a pinch of dust that is sprinkled on the bronze makari, slowly, before she puts a hand on their shoulder. The scent of death washing away with it, though not clearing that which was already on the air.

"And I will not treat you like a cornered animal. That defeats all we have been trying to work on."

She waves to the gnome. "It will be alright, are you okay?" She asks them.

Skielstregar eyes Taw's gift, him waiting for her to back up some before going over on hand and knee. Uncaring of what the food was, he eats it readily. Grimacing as he did so, trying to focus on the good flavors.

He looks up to Vaera with a slightly sad expression on his angry visage. "Yesss you're right. As usual. This one is... sorry. Just afraid of hurting someone isss all," he rumble growls, closing his eyes and trying to calm himself.

Tawyse waves back to Vaera, "I am okay! Are you? I'm able to do some modest healing, if you need." She remains a respectful distance, with a worried expression. "That goes for you, also, Skiel."

"No, I understand, I should have been slower." Vaera sighs, torn between the two of them. "I am alright, thank you for asking, but I know not of Skielstregar. If he injured himself at all in the process."

She walks over to where he was eating, and drops the strips of dried mango on top of everything. "Peace on your nest, shaman, this one is called Vaera. And you are?"

Skielstregar destroys the rest of the food readily, him focusing on it with fervor. Soon it is all gone, and he covers his eyes, breathing deeply. "... in... in a moment, Taw. Not... right now..." he rumbles.

The Gnome offers a polite curtsey to Vaera. "Peace on your nest, Vaera. I am Tawyse. Taw for short, if you wish. Shaman is acceptable, but I'm not so formal." She smiles brightly at red-scale, before looking to Skiel. "I've got some roasted boar left over back at my camp, if you like, Skiel."

"I will refer however you wish, Tawyse, or Taw, which you prefer." Vaera states, bowing back to them. "I did not know your name, now it is not necessary to refer to you as such."

She turns to skielstregar, and sighs. "Take all the time you need. I can escort you to the camp, if needed."

Skielstregar gives a thumbs up, him resting there, still. "Give... this one a few minutes, and then we can... go to the camp together. Boar sounds... sounds good."

"Thank you. Both of you."
