A05: Warehouse District

It's Tariday, Bernfleur 10 21:34:53 1020. The full moon isn't up. The tide is low and ebbing. The world is dark and foggy. Everything is half-hidden, nothing clearly seen. It almost feels as if you walk through some otherworld. It's cool and the air feels damp and still.

The young priest makes his way across the bridge. There's a cart behind him. It creaks, casting light in a bobbing, sway as they pass by. The cart is nothing special, and something simple, a thing of slats of wood.

Ga'Elian sits on the roof of an office building beside some warehouse... singing, in Sildanyari mostly but occasional words of Celestial come up from time to time. He holds a pair of goggles in his lap.

Astaren is sitting on the edge of the bridge reading a book. A floating disk hovers next to him with a large stack of leather bound books. He glances up as he hears somebody approaching, offers a nod to Kerbasi and then looks back to his book, labeled "Ressurections - For Dummies"

The cart carries with it a certain smell, as the priest goes past. Cloves, the thick scent of sandalwood. Thick, pleasant scents, but thick nonetheless, because the cart contains...

...the swaying lantern illuminates it for a while. The cart's single, still passenger. A plodding donkey hauls faithfully behind the Mourner, who passes by amicably, a smile to his features. "G'day," he says. Then blinks at the sight of the book. "Heh. I see you've been talkin' with Mourner Verna, then? I wasn't sure. She's been busy as of late."

Mikilos mutters softly to himself as he exits the Ox Strength. Dang Oxley. Peering around absently, the tall wizard makes his way towards the bridge and the familar voices there. Or more likely just naturally gravitates towards the stack of books.

Ga'Elian puts his goggles into his satchel, and hops to the ground. He lands without a sound and walks over to join Kerbasi and Mikilos. He looks at them and at Astaren and says, "What mischief of the gods brings together such a group this night." He smiles.

Astaren hmms over to Kerbasi, "hmm, no this is research. I have a certain bone after all. Checking viability, difficulties, materials. This is a interesting book, but lacks certain key elements." Putting the book aside and picking up another titled, "Ressurections - Vardema Temple Difficult Edition." and winks, "This one is more informative, light reading and all." Glancing to Ga'Elian, "Oh hey there, doing well Ga'Elian, as for what..' cutting off as he spots Mikilos eying his books, "All about ressurections if you want to look at them. More clericy stuff then it is wizardly."

"Heh. Well, it'll be nice for someone t'take some of the load, if you're up for it," Kerbasi replies kindly, before looking to Ga'elian. "Ga'elian! It's good to see you. How may I be of service? And Mikilos, too! What brings everyone out so late?" he asks, and holds out his hand.

Mikilos waves vaguely. "Was bringing some herbs for Myrana, ran into a bad smell. That walked and talked." Oxley. "Anyway, all books are wizardly is you're a properly dedicated wizard." He leans closer, glancing over the titles. "...read it.... read it... think it's in the To Read pile..."

Ga'Elian smirks at all the magical study buzzing around. He answers Kerbasi, "I'm always around somewhere. Tonight I'm working on singing some magic into these goggles." He pulls them back out of his bag.

Astaren attention focuses on Mikilos, "Oh you practice the divine arts as well then? borrowed most of these from the temple of Vardema." well more like snuck out invisible while they were not looking. "Sadly, i cannot loan any to you. Need to get them back by morning." looking completely innocent, "But I am sure I have a few you havn't seen in my collection somewhere." Then turns towards Kerbasi, "Well you are welcome to help if you want, more the better for something like this. Will be no easy task." Then grins to Ga'elian, "Even you could be useful in this project."

"You don't say?" Kerbasi looks over with interest at the goggles. The priest lowers his glasses, peering through--possibly bifocals--before looking back with a smile. "That's quite some work, there. Y'should be proud of it." To Astaren, "Oh, I'm pleased t'be of service, wherever th' Lady would have me."

Mikilos glances at the goggles in curiousity, but keeps most of his focus on the books. "No no, I'm strictly arcane... though I suppose that's technically divine to a few select Goddess." He frowns a moment, then blinks. "Anyway, what exactly is this resurection project?"

Ga'Elian smiles at Kerbasi, then turns to Astaren with "Yeah. What are you cooking up? I doesn't have to do with those plushies, does it?"

Astaren blinks confused, "Plushies? No no hardly. I am going to attempt to ressurect a Gold Dragon." leaving it at that as he flips to another page in his book.

"Oh, it's a bit of a tale. W'ran into one in ah...ah. Dragonier, a little while back. I'm sure th' Lady wouldn't mind offering her, or him, a second chance. Seein' as what Heth did. It will take some work, though. ... I've got to get this fellow on his way. It was a pleasure meetin' you all," Kerbasi says then. The young priest balances on th' balls of his feet, and then clicks his tongue at the donkey.

Mikilos glances up at the mention of plushies, but is distracted by the mention of dragons. "Interesting... I don't think I've heard of a solid instance of dragon resurrection. But not a topic I've really researched before."

Kerbasi has left.

Ga'Elian pets the donkey a few times, then says, "See you, then." to the departing Kerbasi. He turns to Astaren and says, "It sounds fascinating, but I'm sure I don't have the foggiest idea what I could do to help it. The only dragons I've ever even seen are Heth and my little buddy Sparklewing."

Astaren watches Kerbasi go, then looks to Mikilos and Ga'Elian, "not much is written on it, then again most dragons do not typically die, or have parts fo them recoverable. Highly valuable materials and all. This one died fightning off Heths undead protecting civilian lives. I am going to try at the very least." then closes his book, "As for helping, two parts really. First off is knowledge, sparklewing may have some insights, second is material collections. Your skills are good to have when seeking stuff out that might be guarded or dangerous. Oh and third, never know what we might need in the casting that could help."

Mikilos considers a few moments. "I would assume there's some variation in the resurection of a humanoid anda that for a dragon, but I can't say I know as to what specifically. I can't imagine it would be too different, though I suppose the restoration of a draconic body might be rather different. I would however advise contacting the spirit of the departed dragon, and making sure it wants to return, and is aware of who is trying to bring it back. The one thing to assure failure is a soul that doesn't want to return, and dying at the hands of undead, might have a mistaken impression as to what would be comming back to."

Ga'Elian calls out "Hey Sparklewing, got a favor to ask you." He looks around as if waiting for something, or someone. Then right behind his head a sudden 'POP' heralds the appearance of a tiny red faerie dragon with butterfly wings, hovering like a hummingbird. The dragon says, "What so all-fired important, Elian?" <draconic>

Ga'Elian dropped FaerieDragon.

Astaren smiles to Mikilos, "not a cleric, but wise in your understanding of ressurections. yes all valid points, all things to be worked on. Though contacting the spirit may be the most difficult, if not impossible. Still precautions must be taken in all regards." Then glances to Sparklewing and grins, "They there Sparkles, going well my lovely friend?"

Mikilos nods to Astaren, and grins, giving a polite and somewhat formal bow of greeting to the dragon. Tiny dragon, to be sure, but still a dragon.

Sparklewing flits around the two elves and then looks at all the books on Astaren's floating disk. He says, "Hey, man. So what's the deal? I was just playing hide-and-seek with a few pixies. Ha ha. They won't find me now."

Ga'Elian says, "Astaren here wants to resurrect a gold dragon that was killed fighting Heth's minions. He thought you might know something that could help him figure out how to do it." Looking to Astaren, he asks, "That's the gist of it, right?"

Astaren nods, "That sums it up pretty well." closing his book as he watches the fearie dragon.

Mikilos nods, and mutters softly. "Note to self, are some pixies playing hide-n-seek until they get bored."

The minidragon says, "Whoa! That's big stuff. I'll try to help, but we might need to talk a while. You have any brandywine, the sweeter the better."

Ga'Elian says, "I do, but you know I always keep a little around for you. Not that you need the sugar." He retrieves a wineskin from inside his haversack.

Astaren smiles to the dragon, "Well I would be glad, but my time is short. I need to be returning these books before I get cau... err in trouble yes. I wil bring some brandy wine for you though and we can talk soon ok?" standing up and motioning to his disk.

Mikilos grins, and glances absently at the sky. "Suppose I should get going as well. Best luck in your efforts."

FaerieDragon has left.

Ga'Elian waves, and says, "Sure. Another time then." Then to Sparklewing, "Don't keep your pixie friends guessing too long. The dragon nods and pops out.

Astaren has left.

Mikilos has left.

Ga’Elian has left.
