Pembroke Springsworth was as social as most gnomes, they say, and found himself quite taken in by the small herding-breed found among many human and lucht landscapes. Being a gnome however, he investigated and 'took the idea to perfection' as it were. ...and so, the Dire Corgi was born!

The Dire Corgi was introduced to Alexandria in 1019, shortly after the khazadi beer Festival. Pembroke was emboldened by a tankard or two to share his invention, and the rest they say--is history. (Well, this also means he was indirectly to blame for the recent elemental corgi invasion, but. You know. It kinda happens when efreeti, wishes, and children get involved.)

Dire Corgi may be taken as animal companions, or used by malicious GMs. Both stats are provided, below. While the are a racial companion for gnomes, they're favored by many of the smaller races. They tend to be as social and chatty as the race that first bred them--a dire corgi is often vocal and intelligent, as canines go, with plenty of personality. There goes your dream of a night's sleep.
