When last we left our heroes, they had finally located Celeste. Who is under attack by demons about to drop on her from qabove. They've been chasing her.

Low ranking demonbs, certainly. Their forms flow like molten wax, eryes and bvody parts shifting and oozing and changing. Each one is holding a single, iron rod in their hand. The tips glow orange with heat.

T hey drop off the edge of the ledge, one by one, landing with a splatter that sends goo everywhere before they pull themselves back together and begin to flow towards you, hissing.

Lucy barely has change to give Celeste a quick hug - or her leg at least - when the demons appear. Lucy looks grim. "They've found us!" she shrieks. But her shrill voice that might just be tinged with panic, belies her actions. She tosses her short spear into the air next to her, and then snatches it before it can even begin to fall, this time holding it in a throwing grip. Shifting her stance she then hurls it up at one of the demons, the point piercing the monster at one of it's weakest points.

Malorn gets out his crossbow and he aims it at one of the demons. He fires off a shot and hits one of the demon's in the chest as it falls towards Celeste.

Serraphine say them drop from the sky, pool, reform this whole thing was something that set her teeth nearly to grinding. They were... annoying. Her mouth curves to match the feeling about those creatures that fell from the sky as she pulls her sword from the scabbard, holding it in both hands and settling in to a low guard. "What are these things?" She growls out to no one in particular, a point of the tip toward the demons.

"Well? What are you?" And she charged the nearest before it could answer. Her blade sweeping in an upward arc and cutting into it.

"Looks like they're spluts. Well....I just named them that. Maiden of Battle...guide our hands to defend these people!" Felicia seems to call for Serriel's blessing to defend the people....which guides everyone's hands in battle.

Celeste is hugged on the leg by a... small person. She glances down at Lucy, and spares a moment to ruffle her hair with a gauntleted hand. "Good to see you too," she rumbles. Serraphine receives a grateful look for the healing, an she rolls her shoulders, limbering up her muscles for the upcoming battle. "Thanks," she acknowledges to the paladin, "Much better." She turns once more, waiting for the unruly horde to reach her; no sense in charging, in her yet tired state. She raises her shield, feinting with it before lashing out with her sword, which... really was just a feint as well, honest; and then she clocks one of the demons upside its front with her spikey shield. That wasn't a feint. That hurt.

Malorn rushes down to help fight the demons and he goes to take a swing at one of the demons. He hits, but it does minimal damage to the demons.

Lucy draws her rapier and then takes a step towards the nearest demon. She takes one more step and then suddenly she lunges, just like one of her practice lunges in the cave. Her rapier stabs the demon in the thigh. Then just like that Lucy is back on her guard again, watching with wide eyes.

The demons are poking you with their iron rods!

Lucy, Serraphine and Celeste each get poked and ends of the brands grow even hotter, searing into their flesh and leaving demonic looking sigils in their wake. Clearly, they've been marked.

Serraphine feels the one stick her, right betwen the plates! Seriously?! She looks down at the wound, then back up toward the creature that hit her. She growls, and brings her sword about to try and cleave into it. Unfortunately, her timing was off and the creature moved out of the way easily.

"RRRAAAAAAWRGH!!" Celeste snarls as she's wounded, and for a moment looks like she's going to clonk that demon on the head with the pommel of her sword, before it skitters back out of reach. Grinding her teeth and snarling as ferociously as her tired state allows, Celeste rounds instead on another demon, between her and Felicia. "Die, filth," she snarls; her shield whistles through the air, failing to connect but leaving the creature open for her sword, which bites in deeply.

Lucy flinches back as she's hit by the brand. Lucy can feel tge wound burning and know something is not right, but she doesn't dare look. Instead she lunges again, another training-room perfect lunge that this time runs the demon through an exposed forearm.

Good news, everyone!

This time around, the brands aren't quite as accurate. Worrisome, though, is that when oine explodes and sends shards of searing hot glob all over the lot of you, the other demons hit seem to find their own injuries healing, their forms absorbing them and growing.

Malorn moves to help surround the demons and he lashes out with a flurry of punches. He hits once and then he hits it again. It can't take the repeated injuries and it suddenly explodes. He tries to spin out of the way, but he gets hit with the hot globs.

GAME: Felicia casts Lesser Angelic Aspect. Caster Level: 3 DC: 15

Serraphine pulls an arm up trying to protect her eyes as the one explodes in front of her after Malorn kills it. It's not fast enough though and she winces as it scars into her skin. A look to the side at the enemies still remaining, she lets go for a moment to press a hand to her chest - the flood of healing - and then it's back into the fight. "You're next." She says, stepping over and swinging with her bastard sword again. It into it once more, leaving it hurting.

Seeing Serraphine's demon explode in her face, Felicia gently grasps her medallion. Her eyes glow completely blue, and her voice speaks with a slight echo to it.

Apparently fighting while you're damn tired, after having quite literally spent all night running a marathon in the snow while being chased by demons, is not the most ideal way to be in combat. Celeste, however, is not complaining, even if she is panting heavily from the exertion, even after the benefits of Serraphine's aid. "You're gonna die now," she snarls at the demon before her, before swinging her sword in a wide arc and lopping its noggin straight off -- which apparently triggers it into exploding, and some of the goo searing Celeste's flesh. Which, in turn, only serves to piss her off.

Malorn wipes the hot gobs of goop off of him and he moves over to unleash another two punches on one of the demons. He seems to know just where to hit it as he leaves it badly hurt.

Celeste is struck by a brand. It burns into her skin, leaving her scarred and marked with eldritch, demonic scrawl.

The blobs are growing, now, that there's less of them. Like a reverse black pudding. Malorn is struck as well, leaving him injured.

Lucy flinches and winces as each demon explodes. The tip of her rapier makes a tiny circle in the air as she considers where next to stab the demon before her, but then suddenly she steps back. Her free hand pulls a dagger and slings it towards the enemy in an underhand throw. The weapon strikes true but when the demon doesn't explode Lucy sighs in disappointment.

Baz da Ork arrives, singing as it steps into the high grasses. Bluebirds sing.

Baz da Ork has arrived.

Serraphine takes another swing at the blobs, but this time the thing just seems to melt away from her slice. She kicks at it too, but all that does it make her a bit annoyed and stub her toe. "I hate all things demon, that includes you!"

Felicia clasps her hands together and puts out a healing pulse of energy to mend her comrade's wounds.

Somewhere there's a small tree slowly dissolving amidst the pool of Ork water. The pounding feet of a relieved Baz blam through the air as does his roar for combat. "OH YES! OH YES! S'M ONE TA KILL! KILL KIL KILL!" The great green monstrosity gloats as it bounds into sight. "FOR KOR YA BASTARD! REEAAAARGGGGH!!1" The massive curved blade snatches out as he swings two handed, bounding into sight on the other side of the demon. However as his blade goes wide and slams into the ground the Ork makes a sour pinched face. "Ah crap ya gob tit ya ain't supposed to move like that!"

Celeste is pushing herself hard past her limit, and it shows from her breathing. Still, the half-orc Gladiatrix manages to get out a strained "DIE FILTH!!!" before taking another breath. It's a suggestion she makes good on, as she cleaves her sword deep into another demon, choosing to help with the one Malorn is picking on. After yanking her blade free she whirls her shield hard into it; the demon blasts to pieces, bits of goo showering everywhere, including on... Celeste.

Malorn know that the demons explode when they are destroyed. He's able to spin out of the way from the next demon as it explodes. He heads over towards the next one and he swings hard to punch one and then he tries to follow up with a kick that misses.

Lucy edges carefully towards the demon, turned nearly sideways to present the slimmest possible profile, with her rapier held in front of her. She extends her arm at just the right time to jab the monster in the shoulder, adding to the list of limbs she's targetted as she tries to bring the creature down.

Now growing even larger as they absorb the exploding remnants of the others, the two left strike out, one slamming its iron directrly into Malorn's chest while another sears Serraphine's armor with it, crashing into her chest plate. They're howling loudly, now.

Felicia continues to channel healing energies into her allies. "I can't keep this up guys...."

There's a moment pause as that thing hit her, after it grew larger, she stares at it. She looks down to where it hit her, letting go for a moment to place her hand over the wound, before swinging again. Unfortunately... she misses.

"Ha-Hah-Raa-Hahah! Dey go POP when kilt!" Baz roars as demon debri splashes across his armor and skin from Celeste's kill, heedless of the wounds it makes in his flesh. "Stop running around ya little bastard and let me get up all in ya guts till you pop like a ripe mellon!" Once more the massive curved blade is swung into the demon before him. Once again the large blade fails to pierce demon flesh. "No, No, No!" The Ork bellows as veins stand out on his head. "You're s'posed ta die! Get on my sword ya git!"

Celeste looks, at this point, like she really wants to get some shut-eye; the bleary-eyed berzerker is not about to give in so easily, however. She takes a moment to collect herself, before turning and laying her shield hard into the remaining demon, increased in size as it is. "GET SLAUGHTERED!!" she roars, bringing her sword to bear in follow-up and severing something important; must have been important, because the gnarly beast explodes, once again splattering goo everywhere -- and most particularly all over Celeste.

Felicia has disconnected.

Malorn moves to help surround the last demon and he hits all three times. The first punch does nothing, but the second and the third punches manage to do some damage.

In turn, the branding iroin, now larger along with the creature, is lashed down against Malorn as he steps in. It smashes it into him and the smell of seared flesh fills the immediate area.

Lucy hurries over to take up a place around the large demon remaining, doing her part to try and pin it between various party members. She stabs it in the back of the knee, a point she knows would cripple most mortals - but demons would seem to have different ideas.

Serraphine gets rocked from yet another of those demons exploding, her aim anything but true as she swipes with her bastard sword. A wince as she tries - and fails - to make contact. She frowns as she stares at it, this is not looking good for her. She can't hit anything right now. Ah well.

"AAAAAAAAH!" Baz yells, unable to sate his blood lust. His slim black blood shot eyes turn on the final demon as it grows even larger. Like a big bloated prize just dancing around in his vision. He lumbers towards it with his huge curved blade at the ready. Shifting on his feet he takes advantage of the creature's dealing with Lucy and Seraphine and rises up behind it bringing his two handed blade upwards into it's lower back and torso.

"Eurrrggh! Hows you like me be'in arm deep in your guts thicko?" Baz burbles out a laugh into the demon's ear as he skewers into it. "You gonna blow up now or do I get to shake ya around on me big sword like the fat bag o crap ya are? I bet if I twists it a bit you squeak like a mouse!"

After getting slathered in a dose of the goo from the second to last demon, Celeste takes a knee for a moment, gasping for air; fortunately, the effects of Felicia's healing are enough to keep her upright for the moment. She looks up at the last remaining demon, grits her teeth, and rises back to her feet. "I never lose," she growls, and bangs her sword hard against her shield. Teeth grind against tusk as she advances the few short steps, and drives the sword deep into the demonic mass; pulling it out the shield follows, bashing hard and biting the the spikes deep enough to rip away large chunks of... whatever it's made of.

Malorn grits his teeth in pain as he's smashed with the branding iron, but it's only for a moment before his wounds are healed. He punches at the demon twice and each one of them hit doing some damage. He tries to follow up with a kick that misses.

Lucy does her best to avoid the flailing iron of the demon. She spots an opportunity and darts in to pluck it with her enchanted rapier again. By this point she's beyond aiming for vital spots, instead just trying to stab it anywhere it isn't already damaged.

Serraphine brought back her sword around as the rest of everyone started to pummel it. It really wasn't even close to being fair for the ooze demon, but you never want it to be fair for the ooze demon. One because it's a demon, two because it's ooze-ish-thing that really just doesn't sound very appealing. It's not even really ooze-ish just... That's how Serraphine thinks of it. Ooze demon. They pop, they grow, and they're rather gross.

Fi brought the sword back around, switching to a high guard as she was less worried about her legs with the increased height of this thing. A step back into an iron door stance and she brought the cut searing down in a diagonal cut. It sliced in deeply, cleaving the thing and - not surprisingly - making it erupt. She was ready this time at lead, bringing an arm up quickly to guard herself so most of it hit her armor before landing on the ground about her.

"Ugh." Serraphine says, "Let's... not repeat that, and let's get the hell off this damn mountain."
