There have been... things out in the woods. Unnatural creatures yes, but of late something darker has been stalking the forest. Pale creatures that shine in the moon. They've been described as elves, but the elves themselves claim that no such attacks against those living close to the woods has come from them. So you've been sent to a small village in the woods near Alexandria. The last six nights running they've been attacked by these elves. Most of the villagers have been killed trying to protect what little is valuable, and those who remain and are too weak or injured to themselves be moved.

Morgan enters the village making sure her ears are pinned under her hair in a bun like style. She is hoping to find the contact for this mission as she has a few questions.

The armored Ork marches into the village peering around his eyes mere slits in the depths of his skull like helm. "Wot dis? Looks like we a bit late here, hah?" His chilling laugh echos in the metal of his helmet. "So glowing elves eh? Haven't gotten me a elven skull in a long time, ya? Gonna put it right here so it got the best show." Baz makes a motion towards a blood stained hook right over his codpiece.

Lucy looks around with wide eyes at the village. "There's so few people left here," she ventures, voice hushed. "Normally you'd expect a village like this to be full of life and people."

A wee, furred person sits atop Baz's massive frame, clinging to the Orc's shoulder as he walks along. "It's kind of weird.", Murder comments, looking to Lucy, before glancing to Baz. "Well... they might not be elves, yeah? What people think they see running around in the dark isn't always what is actually running around in the dark."

The armored Ork snorts. "Hah, ya scared softies make up all kinda monsters in da dark." He replies to Murder. "Dis monster though, dis one can kill can't it? I suppose if I weren't here ta fight I'd be trying ta mend some of these people. But dey ain't fight'in. Kor would be pissed if I wasted his rage on those who aren't gonna join the game."

It's not hard to tell who's in charge. She's the only able-bodied person left, and she's got all the other people cooped up inside the town hall. It's not a big building, but it does look like a fairly defensible one. There's only a few windows that have already been boarded up, and the front door which is open to allow her to welcome you to what's left. She passes a short glance at Baz. She doesn't look pleased with his statement. Maybe because most of who's left are the elderly and children. Those that aren't are heavily injured and couldn't fight if they wanted to. "Just set up wherever you please. Those damidable elves will be here soon enough."’

Raethon says, "Elves?" Rae says. "Should I be offended? Or do you mean a certain set of elves?"

Morgan nods to Lucy but says "I am concerned about the glowing part, I think they are Fae, and if they look like Elves they could be Sidhe. And I really hope they are not."

Lucy thinks about that for a moment. "Okay, I'll bite. What's so bad about Sidhe?"

The furs start to come off then, and Murder leaps down from her spot on Baz's shoulder. She eyes the woman up and down. "Where did they come from, when the attacked? All around, or from a specific direction? Maybe we can gather some information before they come. It might be useful." The Gobbo peers at Lucy. "Uh, if a bunch of them broke into your home and killed your family... would that be an appropriate answer to your question? The people here probably didn't give a rats arse before this started happening."

"Right." Baz says to the able-bodied woman in charge. "How do dey fight? Magic? Arrows? They come in close and stab ya?" His right hand reaches into one of his pouches and he draws out some red paint and a few feathers. Then reaches up and begins painting a symbol on the back of Murder's armor. "'Old still a moment. I'm not going in ta battle wit me own daughter if she's not ready."

Morgan says softly "They tend to be more of the higher born of the fae, and they are a bit harder to kill." She then adds "Expect them to shrug damage like demons when attacked with non magical weapons."

Raethon says, "Well...that'll be a pain in the rear." He says with a sigh."

Lucy holds up her little hands. "Don't get me wrong, I know they're evil and we'll have to put an end to them," she flsshes a confident (she hopes) smile at the nearest villager, then turns back to the party and gestures at Morgan with a nod. "I was just wondering do they have some especially nasty tricks."

The woman levels a look at Raethon. "I mean the bloody elves that have been attacking us six days now. Every night they come with claws like knives and attack. At first it was just the animals but soon enough it was people." She looks haunted as she recounts the horror's she's seen. "I saw one bite a man's neck and spill his blood. Lapped it up like a dog."

Out in the distance a dog barks as if on cue and the woman looks toward the sound tense.

"They'll be coming now. That's the dogs warning us." A few seconds later a handful of dogs come pouring in, all of them looking half terrified.

Raethon says, "That sounds more like a vampire than an elf. but then I don't know all of this. I'd need a bit more time to study. But......we need to take these things out now...."

Morgan nods "Just remember what I said I think might be 60 percent right."

Murder manages to look embarrassed when Baz casts his spell. "Baaaaaaaaaaaz.", she says in a sing-song manner. "You don't have to do that." A quick hug later, she grins toothily. "But thank you, as always." The Gobbo eyes the dogs that come running in. "Vampires? Oh goodie. There's a lot at stake here. Rather, lots of things we're going to stake here..."

Raethon says, "Let's not worry about how right we are, but how dead they should be."

"Nothing wrong wit a good bit of blood drinking." Baz murmurs as he finishes painting the holy symbol on the back of Murder's armor. Imparting a faint pulse of divine energy to help protect the Goblin. "Yes I do, besides." He replies to Murder. "You're a right little monster on the field. Kor respects that." Then reaching behind his back he taps the arcane quiver there and summons his massive compound bow and an arrow to his hands. "Well then lets see if we can catch one in the face 'fore it gets too close den right?" Notching the arrow he tests the strength of his bow, his arms flexing as he draws back on the compound rigging making the bow sound more like a ballista as it's put under tension.

The Gobbo eyes Baz and his massive bow, and there's a hint of envy in her eyes. "Am I, Baz? A right little monster?" She grins toothily then. "Did you yank a balista off of a castle somewhere, da?" Murder looks to Morgan then. "I hope you're loaded up with fire spells. If they're vampires, they'll burn well."

Morgan says, "well lets hope it will be easy to track down and deal with"

As you stand readied a group of at least six elves is skittering toward you. Low to the ground they are garbed in hunters clothing. They are pale enough that the light of the moon reflects off of them, making them seem to glow. They could have been normal elves if not for the way that they seem to have clawed hands and an unnatural fevour to their eyes.

HINDER OUR ENEMIES AS WE OFFER THEIR LIVES UP FOR YOUR FIRE, FOR YOUR RAGE!" The pulse of divine energy flows outwards over the battle field, emanating from the Ork Cleric for the next few rounds. Rae actually spots the 'elves' and throws a bead in their direction. he manages to cause a fairly large explosion to hit three of them.

The elves move closer with unnatural speed, quickly closing the distance between you.

Lucy steps between larger party members so that she's more or less on the front line. She draws her dagger left-handed but pauses. She squints and the tip of her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth as she tries to account for distance and wind conditions. Finally she hurls the weapon, a high arcing throw that actually strikes one of the onrushing creatures. Almost as soon as it hits the dagger vanishes, appearing almost instantly in Lucy's hand once more.

The Gobbo cheers Baz on as he calls down Kor's blessing. Then she pulls a small, red pepper from her pack, and mashes it into her mouth. Her cheeks redden, and she fans at her open mouth. "Hot hot hot... yanno, I found out I don't have ta eat these... but... they're so good." She drools messily as she begins to mutter something in Goblin-talk. "Ooh yeah... come to Murder. She has some fiah for you."

Morgan floats in the air "I think I was wrong, but be careful about the shrugging off damage as I said before." After that is said she says a few words that makes everyone feel faster.

The elves quickly close the distance and it's clear that they /are/ elves. Perhaps not natural ones. There is something obviously wrong with them. Their hands have turned to claws and their eyes are hollow sunken things. They look feral. That's exactly the word that comes to mind in fact, like a revelation. Quick as elves can be they lash out. One of them manages to hit Baz with a glancing blow while another hits Lucy harder. That's not nearly as bad as Murder however who faces two who cut deep gashes in the smaller combatant.

Pure unadulterated rage courses through the big Ork as Murder is hit right in front of him. Ignoring the pain of his injuries he releases the bow, which is returned to the arcane quiver on his hip and draws his large battle axe. A massive savage chop takes the head clean off the most injured elf, the second swing passes harmlessly through the space it's neck once occupied. "RAAAAAAAAARRGGGH!" Bellows the monstrous Ork, the scream echoing through his close helm.

Lucy flinches back as she's struck. But she takes it in stride, nodding to herself as if she's learned something. She rushes forward, her rapier jabbing almost faster than the eye can follow. Only the small puncture wounds appearing on the feral elf's chest show that she actually struck him and where.

She eyes her skin and looks to be about to experimentally chew on one of her fingers, when Baz suddenly bellows and takes the head of one of the elves. She echos his yell a few moments later, though, a bit more high pitched and squeaky. The Goblin wades into close combat and whacks away at one of the elves.

Morgan says while floating over the elven freaks. "What the hell are you." Said as she follows up a spell that makes one of the attacking monsters to look red for a second but it fights off the spell. "One day that will work."

Lucy continues stabbing the feral elf, this time creating a line of stab wounds that crosses the first. "Getting warmer, warmer," she murmurs until finally with the last stab, "Here! Lucy stands on the other side of the elf from Baz. She sees an opportunity and stabs her rapier through the creature's neck. Then with the blade still embedded in the thing's throat, she grabs the hilt with both hands and uses it to lever the monstrous form away from the woman's body. Only then does she yank the rapier free.

Panting, Baz looks over his trio of bleeding wounds and stomps over to the first elf he killed. Inspecting the body with a knowing eye he lifts the decapitated head from the ground and slams it down on one of the hook like spikes at his waist. His newest gruesome trophy on his hip as he sets about healing the wounded.

Rae clicks his tongue. "So THIS is the crap I've been hearing about all over the city. Isn't this from that warehouse that had that asshole lord I've been hearing about? I don't want to repeat his name for respect of the lady with me."

Morgan eyes goes wide as she’s heard of the pools of icor changing things. She then looks to Baz. "Mister Baz please take that head off and clean the blood before you keep it, just to be safe."

Lucy kneels next to the woman, staring with dismay at her half-eaten body. "Why didn't she stay inside where it was safe?" She asks, voice choking with emotion. "We were here so she wouldn't have to face them. That was our job..."

Sullenly the big Ork removes the head from it's place of honor on his hip and tosses it to the ground. "Bragh." He grunts, ripping some near by material from a window, table, stall and wipes at the blood on the hook. "Nawt right, trophies are for wear'n."
