Much like the Hope Theatre across it, the Flightwright enjoys a rich history and extensive patronage among Alexandria's upper and lower classes. However, of the two, the Flightwright may be considered more illustrious. The "new kid on the block" by a hundred or so years, the Flightwright boasts more modern technologies and styling, and a larger space.

The Flightwright's entrance is a massive space with an earthen floor, host to ticket hawkers, goods sellers, and if one is lucky, a chance to see one of Alexandria's famous actors or playwrights. Once inside, a thrust stage of solid oak is surrounded by rows and rows of well-used, well-kept benches. Often, shows are standing-room only.

The Flightwright takes advantage of its thrust-style stage, and a hidden backstage, to include the use of artifice and other tricks of both magic and engineering. Truly, a show here is a wonder to behold.

The theatre, like many in the District, is owned by an Alexandrian family, though this is not always the case. Duels and competition, however, over artists, playwrights, performers, remain fierce.

Munch stands on stage. This is as much a surprise to him as to anyone else, but it seems one of the more recent plays features the metal man by name, and the actors are hoping to glean some insperation from the source material. "...so, I just stand here and... what, look impressive or something?"

"Yeah, pretty much." Devola replies to munch as she holds up a tube of some sort and then looks down it. "At least you have an easy job. I have to do pyrotechnics /and/ some other silly artifice stuff. I don't even get seen! How... how horrible!"

Munch shrugs mildly. "I'm just supposed to be me. Seems easy enough, but no one else has ever managed to pull it off."

"I tried out for the lead female role. They said I was to superfluous. How dare they!" Devola clenches her fist and slots the tube into a box-like construct. "I am perfection made manifest! Mostly..." She growls a little bit and then barely dodges a puff of smoke and fire that shoots out from the tube, nearly taking her eyebrows with it.

"They said you're super? Isn't that a good thing?" Munch might not be so good with big words.

"Too super..." Devola adds as she reloads the pyrobox. "Its like... how can they not see that I'd be perfect for the role?" She shakes her head. "Charlatans! I should have known better than to get roped into working for them."

Munch shrugs again. "Who's the lead role supposed to be, anyway? They just brought me in for referance. And to clear out some old props they don't want any more."

"A run-away princess, lost and found by her future lover, the handsome duke." Devola grumbles a little bit. "Together, they save the world from the evil metal man. A bit of romance, a lot of wonderful action. I was perfect!"

Munch nods. "Sandy and Jareth, maybe... she keeps getting typecast as a princess... did you try punching the director? That seems true to source material."

Munch blinks with a soft click. "Wait, evil? I'm supposed to be evil?"

"In this one, I think so..." Devola replies. "Uhm... perhaps I read the wrong script? Maybe that is why they didn't like my audition..." She seems to ponder over that for a moment or two. "Damnit..."

One of the understudies, clad in a suit of mis-matched cardboard armor, speaks up. "Erm, sir? Ah, no? You're not the villian in this one. That's the Warlock of Bronze. Your role is of the Un-named Doomsayer at the end of Act one. Sums up the action for anyone who came in late, then makes dire preditictions to get people back after the intermission."

The golem blinks again, considering. "Doom? I guess I'm okay with that. I can do doom."

"What.. what was I reading?" Devola looks around a bit. "Am I even in the right theater?" She stands up and casually backs away from the pyrotechnic box she left there. "Uhm, maybe I should go..."

Munch shrugs again. "They don't always hand out the final play. Trade secrets and all that. But if you were hired for pyrotechnics, yeah, this is the place. I don't think the Hope those that sorta stuff. It's all flowing ribbons and mood music."

"Hm..." Devola mumbles something, then the device belches a massive cloud of smoke, by which time it clears, Devola is no where to be seen!

Munch just stands quietly, figureing this was supposed to happen. Actors are weird.

Devola goes OOC.
