When last we left our brave heroes, they had been confronted with a terrible magicite monster. The battle against it had driven it into some kind of etheral state, animating the numerous crystals around it to come to life and run towards it.

Which, of course, seems like a bad thing.

Seldan looks up at the now-ethereal golem. He raises a hand as if to grasp the steel holy symbol at his neck, then seems to think better of it, shaking his head, and instead places it on his shoulder, murmuring a quick prayer. "It is no use, Malik. I must close, for the small ones. _Alacha._"

As he speaks the word, his armor unfolds around him, steel plates and panels making a terrific racket that is only magnified by the crystal. Once that his done, he draws his sword and nods to the wizard.

Malik watches the crystals gather around the faint giant, frowning as Seldan speaks and he hears those words. "Alright," he grumbles, intoning the words to a quick spell, once more wrapping them in arcane energies that speed them along and out of the way. "But we're having a serious talk about the amount of blood you lose when we get home!"

Munch blinks with a soft click as smaller crystal... things... start to move towards what's left of the big one. Not taking chances, the metal man whirls, massive axe crashing into one of the figures on it's seam, and shttering it, sending shards flying.

From all around the cavern, now, dozens of the smaller ones are moving towards the center where you 've been fighting the larger golem. They're too far out, thankfully, to have reached it yet but letting them will no doubt be a bad thing.

They're scattered all around, but some are moving in twos and threes.

Kore has spent a long moment consideringher surroundings silently as her wounds are healing. Ther'es swet on the half-elf's brow, stinging her eyes, but she doesnt react to it. She waits until a cluster of magicite is passing nearby to strike. THe girl lunges, plowing into them and smashing a few fragments of crystal to dust as she literally uses her body as a barrier between them and their goal.

It is now Malik's turn! Rhar is next!

Seldan turns his head back to Malik's admonition only long enough to flash him a grin, sword in hand. "I, too, have better uses for my blood, and shall endeavor not to spill it." With that, he turns and charges directly into the closest group of small crystal figures, sword flashing in the eerie light. Another of the small crystal figures shatters under his blow, leaving him with more crystalline company still.

Malik wastes no time once the others start in with shattering the smaller crystals, raising his bow once more and firing off arrows -- two of which fly over Seldan's shoulders as the man charges, clearing two of the smaller creatures before he takes aim at two of the others, the wizard otherwise silent for now as he watches what the rest of the party is doing.

The first of the smallest ones reach the magicite. While you've definitely held back the mass of them from doing so, a few did slip by. There, they vanish into it, breaking apart into energy that is absorbed by the original creatuire you wer fighting.

That's probably not good.

Olek takes another hack at them. All he can reach are small ones, but it's all part of the task, so he hauls off from over the shoulder and lands a heavy blow from his adamantine axe straight onto one of the things

First vapor coalesces into feet, then legs, hips and torso. The transformation increases in speed as torso and arms and then finally head reforms. With a last waft of indistinctness, the gleaming lance appears in Garak's hands. Almost immediately it begins to spin and then lash out, shattering another pair of crystalline constructs.

Fine magicite dust begins to tint the air around the fighters as they work to keep the little ones at bay, and Seldan is no exception. His blade flashes around him, glinting off the dust, and two more crashes can be heard from his direction.

Malik once again readies his bow, watching as the tiny things crash all around them. "How many of these damned things -are- there?" he asks the others, glancing around, firing off arrows as fast as his arm can move.

So many have been shattered now thatw the ethereal creature seems to no longer be able to hold itself to the plane. It seems to solidify again, but this time with a burset of magicite infused energy that rolls ooff it and over you, burning you with pure arcane power.

It then straightens up, form strengthened by those it managed to absorb, though you've managed to keep the majority from it. The smaller ones held out of reach by your efforts stop, turn, and begin racing towards you directly. It seems they're going to do... /something/.

Although Seldan screams as the arcane explosion washes over him, he's able to shield himself from the worst of it, and is still very much on his feet. The big one may still be active, but he instead is swarmed by the smaller crystal beings. He doesn't have time to answer the cries of the others, his sword again flashing amidst the dust, but this time there is only one explosion of powder, and another deeply cut before him.

Malik doesn't see the explosion in time to get out of the way. He turns, just in time to take the brunt of it head on, bringing his arm up much too late to duck. But thankfully, a healing wave follows shortly after, and while the wizard is still looking the worse for wear, he manages to keep his focus long enough to fire another volley into the smaller crystals, letting those with larger weapons and more robust frames focus on the larger threat.

When the magicite creatures, the smaller ones, slam into Kore and Seldan, they seem to meld into them, crystal sprouting across theri body in place, stiffening their joints like some kind of magicite plague!

In the meantime, the great one smashes into Munch, spikes on his fists and fire aura renewing as it smashes into Munch, trying to strip his magic and abosrob it into itself. In the meantime, it's grown ever more powerful and desperate, magical energy it absorbed from the fallen ones leading it to lay the war-golem flat in two blows, but it appears... brittle now, cracks showing through it and shining with magical power.

Garak sways slightly. Afteraffects of the earlier blast of arcane energy make him shudder. Or perhaps it is memory of the attack. He has to choose: channel divine energy again, or go on the offensive. Let it be offense, he thinks - Serriel is a goddess of war and he somehow thinks she would approve. Clutching his holy symbol he calls, "Serriel - supress this magic that threatens your servant!" As the field of antimagic spreads he marches forward to ensure it covers the golem.

Kore has spent half the fight staring at the golem. She studied every movement, staying almost entirely still for long seconds as she evaluated her opponents with her hands at her sides. You might be forgiven for thinking her injuries were far more grievous than they appeared. Then the tiny half-elf launched into action. She threw herself into a horde of tiny magicite monsters, shattering them with a series of stomp-like kicks before lunging at the magicite golem itself. Already cracked and wavering she uses her fingers to pry free chunks, and then pounds on the newly formed holes. The girl then scales the golem, legs wrapped around its limb as she follows the newly forming seam upward, raining pieces of magical crystal around her.

The vibrating crystal rings as it shatters, like someone threw a thousand bells down from the ceiling.

Physical force, alongside suppressed magical power, is what finally does teh trick. Many of you still have patches of crystal on your body, though the spreading appears to have stopped, and you're able to quickly dispatch the smaller ones, what's left of them, before being left in a chamber filled with a choking cloud of magicite dust.

You might want to get out of here. Breathing that in CAN'T be good for you.

...but you're going to need to find a safe place to rest. Rhar and Munch are both /severely/ injured and while Munch is rengerating of his own accord, the rest of you are pretty depleted by now.

The best quesetion now is, how can you safely rest here?

The chamber is huge, from the look of things, so perhaps further out there amongst the magicite crystals there might be a safe place to rest, assuming magic isn't an option.
