(Start of plot)
The news about a person hailing from one of Alexandria’s distant farming settlements was met with little interest. The man had a burning fever as a result of an infected wound to his arm. He only lived long enough to repeat his story twice to the local city guards before he passed away.
The city officials were over-tasked with other important matters to have their attention diverted to this case, so the job has been handed over to an aspiring council member with the incentive that should he remedy the situation, he might just get what he wants.
Allan Pyke, the interested council applicant, is a somewhat charismatic lad with some skill in the theatrics. He pounced on the opportunity of solving the undead rising, even though he has no experience in that particular field. Still, he did not waste time on finding a solution to the problem. He simply focused on what was needed, which was gathering intelligence on the supposed undead-overrunned village, determine if it is true or not, and then inform the council of his findings.
Aided by the city council’s treasury, and some connections with the guild of explorers, he picks out several names for his operation. After doing some cost-cutting on the matter and some more evaluation of each member, the final group of individuals is made.
Allan had a contract made with the guild with the express interest that those names being selected would be the ones doing the operation. The contract has been accepted by those of authority in the guild, and a meet-up is made with people selected.
(Point of view of the players)
As you arrive at one of the guild’s temporary work place, you are ushered to a room where a few others have been gathered. Once you have settled yourself, the mission debriefer provides the group with what they know so far.
"A day ago, city guards at the gate stopped a sick man from entering the village as is demanded by the health protocol we have here. He was interrogated as to his purpose of coming to the city. According to the officer who questioned the man, the sick man said that his village is overrun by the undead. The person managed to get away to seek help. He said that he got bitten during his escape by something that walked on four limbs. The man appeared delirious and what was said is doubtful, but again, city’s protocol demands that any news of the restless dead must be confirmed, and thus your presence here."
"Mister Alan Pyke has ‘requested’ that you be part of the reconnaisance mission. He has allocated a great deal of funds as well as procuring many favours to make this happen. Why he has chosen you guys, I don't know, but he seems to think very highly of you all. Or what you have done."
"Mission objective is this simple. Go to the village called 'Netherway', determine the presence of undead, and find out the status of the villagers. Return immediately to the city with whatever news you get and then return to the guild to get your pay. It is that easy."
"The man wants answers right away, so transportation has been allocated to you in the form of horses. If you have other modes to get there then you are free to use that, but you will not be refunded for any cost that your means of transportation requires."
With that, the mission debriefer ends the debriefing and gives all of you your contracts to sign and return.
The distance toward the village of Netherway is four days on horseback.
Kroth grunts, its his prefered form of communication. He looks to the others chosen for the job, nodding "We go find problem, then return. Simple."
Zalara quirks an eyebrow at the name of the village, "Netherway I wonder where they got there name from.
It seems like there should be some connection to what's happening here with that name. At any rate it seems very ominous. Netherway...like a way to the Nether World or something like that." She shrugs a little bit.
Fayde rides along trailing somewhat behind the party with his staff slid in along the side of the seat.
He's quiet as he goes, his gaze heavenwards as always. His is a dream-touched aspect after all, he is more tied to the heavens than most, even for one of his auspicious bloodline. The young sorcerer hasn't been keeping up with conversations as a result, he's never been one to keep up with things around him under such circumstances. The skies are his first and last concern, as befits the professional astrologer.
Schneider was here, but distracted, or so it might seem to the uninitiated. He is, in fact, communing with fire spirits. In his imagination or something. He rides along easily enough, though his feet hand particularly low, nearly dragging through any braken.
The group departs from the city of Alexandria and make their way towards Netherway. The first part of the journey towards the village is uneventful. The cold of winter has made it hard for people to go traveling. Still there are some roving sentrymen from Alexandria who patrol certain areas, and the checkpoints are often manned by guards who actually are doing their job. On occasions, peddlers and farm merchants can be seen on the road, escorted by hired sellswords, some if not all are from the explorer's guild.
As the group is about a days away journey to the village, strange sightings begin to appear. A murder of crows has been spotted flying over the roads as if they were looking for something. Strange mists would suddenly appear out of no where, covering the entire area, before dispersing just as quickly. The sound of birds and other animal calls seem to have diminished if not has disappeared all together.
An foreboding feeling falls on the group. A sense of being watched and observed. It becomes increasingly apparent that you and your party have been discovered. You feel that it is no long a question of 'if' you will encounter something bad on the road, but when.
On the last eve before you reach the village, your group sets up camp.
Kroth grimaces, looking up at the sky after they have setup camp. "This is very strange, that the oddness is so widespread, yet no one beyond a single farmer has spoken out. It is still a good distance to the village and yet." He simply gestures about, "This feels wrong."
Stirling rides his own horse, a trusty steed of the breed riden by the cavalry of Blar which the hobgoblin has some skill at riding. None the less he comes as prepared as he ever does, clad in his chrome armor and fists, furnace on the back belching black smoke into the air as he rides and a large black deathray held across the saddle with its four barrels. "I think its an undead thing, they always feel wrong. Just in the firepower we are bringing to see us through."
Zalara is riding her hoverbike and she looks around as she has her goggles on. She looks around, "My common sense is tingling, something not right here." She gets out her death ray and holds it close as she drives along.
Schneider rides on in just his loincloth, the cold not touching him at all, it would seem. "I have a foreboding feeling. Like we're being watched," he says as we draw closer to our destination. "And I don't hear any animals or birds."
Fayde is quiet for most of the trip, though not entirely oblivious. The young sorcerer peers about big eyed as he thinks to himself on the significance of the phenomena."This is not weather. The cosmic bands are not visible, and the wind is moot so those birds should not be flying this way nor should there be fog of that sort at all. The season is for a southerly wind and no mist whatsoever away from the rivers..." He tends to his horse with a light patting after dismounting for the camp.
Kroth grunts, "I agree this is wrong, we all sense its wrong. Why hasn't this come up before it became this widespread? We are still far away from the village, this must be a very large area of foulness."
Schneider says to Kroth, "I think that as far as we are from Alexandria, there's nothing else in the vicinity." Fayde gets a shrug, he doesn't care much about weather. He can only shrug to Zalara's comment.
"Clearly /something/ is going on. And bad enough that they only want us to find out what it is and run away. But if that's what they're paying for, that's what I'll do."
Fayde rubs the back of his head as he glances to the others with a clearing of his throat as he offers,"I can take first watch if y'all want to catch a quick shut eye, I'll burn any trespassers with prejudice."
He nods curtly at that before squinting the weariness from his eyes."I'd like to observe for a bit longer anyway. See if I can discern the nature of what's causing it."
Stirling grunts "No kidding, although we cannot say what the problem requires until we investigate." he notes as he takes the saddles off of his horse. "Sounds good, I will take the next." he notes to Fayde.
Zalara stretches out, "A rest sounds good. I'll take last watch if no one else wants to." She stops her hoverbike and looks around for a good spot.
You hear the sound of growls and snarls far before you can see the source of the sound. Waking all of your companions for the inevitable encounter, you determine where your foes are coming from and more importantly, what they are.
The sound of growls and snarls are becoming louder far too soon than you had hope for, giving the impression that whatever is heading your way is moving really fast. As for the direction of where the sounds are coming from, you realize that it is all around you. Apparently, this is a coordinated attack with the intention of surrounding you and preventing you from escaping.
In the darkness, you can see the yellow glint of feral eyes staring at you and your team mates. There are many of them, forming a circle of eyes all around your camp's perimeter. They seem to be observing you, checking out what your reactions would be now that you all are aware that they have you surrounded.
One of the monsters dares to step out of position and reveal itself in the light of the group's camp fire. A gaunt, bipedal creature with skin of ebony black presents itself. It is slightly hunched down, its long, dangling arms often times used in moving around.
Its black, leathery skin appears rough and heavily scarred, giving the impression that it has lived a harsh, if not tormented life. Something appears to be wafting off the surface of its skin, like dense steam. But the heavy mist that seem to be evaporating from their skin surface is greenish in color.
The monster's face resembles that of a man but with its nose shriveled off and its lips curled backward in perpetual snarl. Instead of normal incisors and flat teeth that humans posses, this one only has sharp long canine teeth. And it has it in abundance.
It hisses menacingly, opening its mouth wide, much wider than is physically possible for a humanoid creature, exposing it rows of razor sharp teeth.

From afar, Fayde will cast shield, then begin to cast fireball immediately after. <OOC> Kroth says, "Can an arcane caster use my wand of mage armor on me? Kroth grunts as he looks around, passing a wand to Fayde. "This is magic armor, can you use on me?" He then readies himself for a fight, which requires no real prep since he is a monk.
Fayde takes the wand and taps Kroth with it, the item shimmering silvery in Fayde's hand as he invokes its power to protect him. He nods curtly at him,"You're set." He then flips the item once in a swishing motion before making to tap himself with it. Swish and flick, the proper procedure for wielding a wand!

The nightmarish figures has the camp surrounded and are eyeing the people within hungrily. The one who stepped forward keeps hissing at the group as if it is saying something that could be understood.

Stirling doesn't seem deterred by the abominations, stepping forward and loading a rocket into the top barrel of his deathray and firing it into the greatest mass of enemies. A whispy smoke trail from his deathray flies into a knot of enemies and lights up the night with a powerfull explosion. "What did I say? Firepower. Overwhelming firepower." he says with a dark grin.

Fayde grins toothily as he steps up to the proverbial plate. His eyes shimmer with silvery arcane fire as his hands ignite, the flames flowing together into a small orb before him that he shoves in the same direction as Stirling's rocket. The firey orb streaks in to burst amidst the horrors with a detonation of white flame and dazzling starlight the illuminates the darkness briefly,"And the darkness was sundered by fire and starlight...DIE!"

Zalara wakes up after the others and she activates her titan armor immediately as the fireballs go off. As her armor wraps around her body and locks into place she reaches to press one of her bangles and a protective shield of magic forms around her to ward off any attacks these creatures might make.

Schneider watches to see what's going on, biding his time, it might seem, to wait for the right moment. Or it might be just that he's a slow waker up. Well, the one pack over there is well and truly lit up, he'll pivot 180 and light up a pack behind him. "Spirits of flame," he intones. "Heed my commands: burn everything!" And then the monsters are surrounded by fire.

As they approach Kroth smiles faintly, then he waits until one nears him and lets out with a mighty kick to its side, it is still standing, but it definatly hurt it.

The black undead creatures come charging towards the groups position, each jumping over obstacles with the ease of an athlete, and laying their clawed hands on where they think their targets are vulnerable.
Three of the heroes get injured. Two of them are left paralyzed.

Kroth suddenly blurs into motion, throwing kicks, punches and elbows at the things on him. He manages to take one down, but even charging his fist with a blur of green acid energy he fails to connect on another.

Stirling grimaces, the furnace on his armor belches thick clouds of noxious smoke and the power cables to Stirling's titan fists surge with power. The cracks between the chrome plates of his armor glow blue and he reaches out and grabs the skull of a foe in each hand, one fist rimmed with frost and the other crackling with lighting. Between his grip the skulls of the undead begin to crack before be brings his hands together crushing the two between in a slash of gore which Stirling promptly wipes his hands of.
"The only strong thing about these creatures are the stench, stand strong!" he calls out to the party.

Fayde is standing frozen, his eyes nervous and pained as he's left helpless before the claws sinking into him time and time again. His eyes flicker about in a mixture of pain and confusion as he fights to free himself mentally.

Zalara ughs as she's feeling sick after getting hit twice by the undead horrors. She steps back and brings up her death ray. She flips some of the switches on her death ray and it starts to glow as bright as the sun. She aims at the undead and fires off two shots. The first one barely misses, but the second one hits dead on and destroys the undead.

Kroth fights with a fury, roaring as he watches teammates fall. A punch infused with acid energy slams into one of the creatures knocking it to the ground, then two rapid fire kicks hit another and send it to the ground.

As Stirling whipes his hands of the gore left by the undead he spots his allies being dragged away and turns to follow, a swinging backhand missing the one remaining target as an afterthought. "Hold up now, I am not done with you yet!" he bellows after the fleeing undead.

Stirling pays little notice to his own danger and follows the zombies dragging Fayde away, smashing one in the face with the chrome knuckles of his titanfists as it tries to get away followed by a powerful body punch. "You will not get away from me."

Fayde is still just laying around, being painfully useless and lazy against his will and personal judgement. He watches the mayhem with a fearful gaze, grateful as he sees one of them sprout a smoking hole as the other is being pummeled. Even as all this is going on, his consciousness reels as his life pours out on the ground beneath him while a captor drags him along.

The dark horrors continue to drag away the unconscious heroes out of the camp's light while the rest engage those who are still awake. The three on Kroth start tearing into him while he is paralyzed until he is all bloodied up and unconscious. The lone undead who was ignored by Stirling charges into him, but misses. The one that Stirling injured earlier flanks with the other one attacking the hobgoblin, but still misses.

Stirling keeps his fist close to his face, blocking the strikes from both with his titan armor still surging with power as black smoke is belched into the sky. Summoning a burst of strength he reaches out in opposite directions, grabbing both undead by the head and crushing their skulls into powder beneath his chrome fingers. "These are cowardly dead, I would have been embarrasing to know them in life..."

Zalara takes careful aim at the one that's still dragging Fayde away. She pulls the trigger and a beam of sunlight streaks across the sky and hits the undead right in the head. It explodes and drops to the ground. She fire again, but misses.

Stirling is in a made scrable to help Kroth, chasing after the dead that are dragging him away however his way is waylayed by a nuisance of a creature. Finaly one of his passing backhands connects and sends its head sailing through night sky as he continues his pursuit.

Fayde gasps as he recovers from his unconsciousness with the force of effort, his hand reaching over to his belt to activate the healing magics it holds. Zalara holds still as her wings flap to keep her steady. She fire off two shots of sunlight and they both hit the undead hard. They drop were they stand leaving one to slowly draw Schneider away.

The onyx-skinned undead continue to carry away with their prey, but with the sudden appearance of Stirling (again), one is forced to engage him. That undead manages to break through all of Stirling's seemingly impregnable defenses and scores a wound across his face. The venom that drips from his claws is injected into his skin, but is rendered inert by the hobgoblins potent constitution.

Stirling wipes the blood from his face where the undead saught to give him another scar and returns the favor, striking the fiend twice with his massive chrome clad fists, crushing bone and dealing the damage he took back in spades.

He steadies himself off the stars above and draws a bead on the one attacking Stirling with a silvery hand, his palm raised to produce a trio of whirling motes of light that streak forth to nail the undead creature squarely in the chest and punch a burning hole through it."One more down..."

Zalara fires another double blast of sunlight from her death ray and she blasts it apart as it burns. She looks around for any more before she starts to move towards Schneider.

The last remaining dark undead hisses at Kroth as it suddenly rolls over and stands, putting its arms up and bouncing on his heels. It flails at the Oruch monk in a feeble attempt to put him down again. But the monk's defenses are better.

Now that he is back on his feet, he narrows his eyes and starts throwing his rapid fire attacks. Punches, kicks and even an elbow at the undead, hoping to down it before it gets a chance to paralyze him again.

Stirling looks back at Fayde and snaps a sharp salute before turning back on the undead attacking Kroth, boots digging in earth as he propels himself and his fist across the ground to slug the mug of the undead creature, trailing smoke like a steam engine.

Fayde returns the salute with a grin moments before sending another volley of magic missiles streaking brilliantly towards the last standing undead creature. The poison clawed beast drops as its head is cored and Fayde makes his way to check on Kroth.

(First scene ends here. Schneider, Kroth and Stirling return back to the city to inform the guild of their finding. The guild sends Dire Wolf as reinforcement to the team that wishes to find out the fate of the villagers. The remaining group took some time to heal up.)
As the group make their way towards the village of Netherway, they discover that the place is situated in a valley between two imposing hills, with one of its sides facing a large, deep chasm. There appears to be only one safe route going into the valley and that section is presently covered in thick snow. Passage through this area would be slow, but the alternatives are worse.
It is presently noon time, but even at this time the sun can barely pierce the gloom that has befallen the village. Thick mist of unknown origin continue to blanket the place like a perpetual shroud, severely reducing visibility.
The group trudge through the thick snow and make their way into the village. So far, nothing has stirred inside the village.
All the buildings appear to be intact, except for certain areas that has either been bashed down, or ripped off. There is a metallic smell in the air, a familiar scene often associated with fresh blood. There are blood splatters on some sections of the buildings nearby, but no corpses have been found so far.
The group continues to search for signs of life until someone in the group notices that further down the streets, some of the buildings have shown structural damage. Inspecting the damages from a distance, the group manages to learn that some sort of explosion has occurred that resulted with the affected buildings' side blown off or shorn away.
Tracing the path of damages roth by the hypothetical explosion, a massive hole on one side of the hill that surrounds the village is revealed.
Zalara finds a place to park her hoverbike and she gets off to look around. She has her death ray out and she hmms as she looks over the village, "Something bad happened here." She says as she pulls her goggles down and activate them to look for any signs of magic.

Whether she possibly overheard some echoing destination, is distrustful of the unnatural miasma in the valley, or caught some suspicious scent on the wind, a large, light-pelted lupine descends the hills into the valley. Her coat blends well with the snow-covered ground and foliage, neither of which seem to impair her movement.
Fayde has his own new spectacles on as he looks around, eyeballing for anything out of the ordinary. He adjusts their position on the bridge of his nose as he narrows his eyes to get a closer look at things through the long distance viewing specs, they're intended for astrological viewing but they work fine for jobs like this he reckons. He makes his way over to the parked hoverbike and its occupant stepping out.
Zalara is checking out some of the broken buildings and she hmms, "Looks like something those ghasts we encountered before can do. Those things were big and nasty. These poor people."

Fayde kneels down to inspect a bloodspatter, then a drag mark. He hrms to himself as he follows it with his unblinking gaze for a bit just to get an idea where it goes."Well...these people were apparently abducted, in a fashion."
"The fools could have created their own destruction..." comes a growl, an intelligible one, from the sizable wolf as she reaches the valley floor and periphery of what remains of the village. She lifts her nose to the air in the area, then lowers it to the ground to gather information for her own opinion.

Fayde puts a hand to his temple, then slides it to the back of his head with a groan,"People...screaming...This place, it is marked..." He rises to his feet shakily,"I can't...Goddess..." He winces and grinds his teeth for a moment more until it passes. He then exhales, rubbing his eyes to clear his vision."This is a bad place..."
Zalara nods in agreement, "Yes they probably did, they didn't get as lucky as we did. I did see a sizeable hole in one of the hills, perhaps that's where the undead came from." She looks at Fayde, "Are you all right? What happened?" She looks around death ray ready to shoot whatever is hurting Fayde.

Fayde is still working his jaw and rubbing his head as the less pleasant sort of stars clear from his eyes, he's not the foggiest what just happened to him in his clearing daze,"I don't know, I just heard people screaming and...a motley of voices in pain and this horrid headache like my skull was tearing itself open..."
Dire Wolf peers at the half-mul and snorts, "The vile speak with the vile." Her muzzle lowers again to the ground and she begins to move about. Her concern is far less on the buildings or the missing denizens than on the earth and snows, themselves.
Zalara looks at Fayde closely and adjusts her goggles, "I think what you heard was a psychic scream. It's when the life force of a sentient living creature is being dragged in a painful method. It only occurs at the very height of pain. It has to be nearby or have been done very recently." She says as she continues to look around for the source.
All the buildings appear to be dark, except for one large building which appears to be the village's chapel. There appears to be light in the chapel, judging by the illumination provided through one of the painted glass windows. It was just for a brief moment before the light is extinguished and everything in the building is once again in darkness.

As the group make their way inside the chapel, one can feel a great sense of evil inside the area. It is like the very air itself has been corrupted causing the unnatural wind the sweeps through the inner halls to whisper words of profanity against the good gods. One can also notice that all the windows have been boarded shut, putting the entire building in darkness.
If the group has a light source of some sort, they can see profane writings etched on the walls. The place has been 'desecrated'.
Fayde shudders as he looks around at this place, feeling a little gunshy after his brush with the unnatural. He puts a hand to his glasses with one hand, then works his staff with the other to cast Dancing Lights. GAME: Fayde casts Light. Caster Level: 7 DC: 16
Zalara hmmms as she examines the writing, "Well that's not good, desecrating a church is bad news." She tries to look to see who the church is too perhaps it will give some idea of who might have desecrated it.
Dire Wolf follows her nose, hackles rising at the desecrated place of worship. While she may not follow, or even trust, all deities, she is wise enough to at least respect them. She is far less dependent on light , but it is helpful nonetheless. "Why this valley? This village? This place?"

Fayde takes a moment to inspect the script around the temple, verifying aloud,"This place was dedicated to the Gray Lady Verdama, this script however...is attributed to the followers of Thul." He snorts derisively at that."Light take them all."
"You are either very brave, or very foolish to have come this far, warm-skin." says a male voice, exuding both annoyance and anger.
"Break the land and break the chain..." this growl is low, annoyed. It suddenly grows deeper before snapping into a sudden snarl at the additional voice. Ears, then head, eyes, and subsequently body turn towards the source.
Zalara turns towards the voice and she has her death ray on him, "Who are you?"
Fayde spins on heel, his left casting hand arching in a claw manner with silver flame spring to life around it,"Explain yourself." He glares sharply at the insinuations of the voice addressing them.
From the darkness steps out a tall humanoid creature. As light is cast upon him, one can see that he has deathly white complexion with his dark veins visible on his skin like black thorns. Upon seeing his face, one would not be far from wrong in describing the person as beautiful, for even though his complexion is pasty white, he still exudes much charisma.
"I am called by many names, but I will allow you to call me 'Agony', for I am that to many. What is it that you seek here? Don't you see that there are no living creatures scurrying out and about? This place is dead. And so will you be if you stay any longer." Says the male voice threateningly.
Fayde sniffs as he stares down the bigger thing addressing them, eventually replying,"Why have you come here, what did these people do to deserve this?" He grips his staff tightly as he refuses to glance away for a second.
Zalara frowns at Agony, "Are you the one that caused all this?" She asks as she keeps her death ray aimed at Agony. "If so you've hurt a lot of innocent people."
"This place is not dead," the Dire Wolf growls, "Ea cannot be slain and will recover. Those responsible will not." She remains fixed on the ... thing, stepping closer. "You are not pain. You are nothing."
Agony replies menacingly, "They are a source of wealth. Their life force can be drawn into soul gems and used to barter with the denizens of the abyss, or the iron hells. They can even be used as bargaining chips to your celestial ally if there is a need for it. Once their lives have been sucked dry from their useless corpses, my brothers and sisters can feed on their remains. Nothing is wasted. Now, you have a choice. You can leave with your lives intact, or you can stay here and be cattle for us to drain of life force. What will it be?"
The otherworldy young sorcerer-astrologer raises his burning hand towards the thing that speaks to them. Fayde simply intones,"Eluna holds those accountable who defile the night. The stars harbor a rage all their own, it is you who will quit this place or suffer." He intones this with a bitterness that doesn't allow for mincing of words.

Dire Wolf snarls at the fiend and looses a roar. One that grows louder, and deeper as the lungs behind it also grow.
Agony bares his teeth, exposing rows of canine teeth instead of incisors. "So be it."
Dire Wolf grows in mass and muscle, surface thickening into stippled dark hide and jaw expanding into a
massive reptilian maw filled with vicious teeth.

Agony did not like the fireball that hit him. It did not like the lazer beams that bore holes in his dead body. Most of all, it does not like the look on itself being all banged up. It charges towards Zalara, drawing out his guisarme as he goes. As he gets near Zalara, he gets mauled by dire wolf, but manages to avoid being grappled. He uses the hook of his weapon to grab zalara's leg and trip her. And then he finishes the attack by swing the blade down on her prone body.

Fayde sees how mangled the demonic undead is at this point in the fight, but more importantly he doesn't want to get in close quarters with the thing. This leaves him with the option to keep doing what he does best, and he launches another fireball with a starlight shimmering of his gaze followed by the formation of another twinkling orb that flies forth to burst behind the fiend yet again with deadly force.

Agony is filled with rage. Nothing will stop him from getting vengeance, and so he continues to attack Zalara, unmindful of the others that are flaming it or mauling it to bits. He goes about slashing the prone artificer, eliciting horrible wounds on her body. Finally, a second slash is made that brings her down completely. Zalara is dying.

Large jaws and large teeth allow more area for biting. This time, the snapping reptilian maw finds flesh to rend. Flesh that suddenly decomposes into dust and ash her Allosaurus' mouth. This leaves the foe decimated, but also leaves the terrible lizard spitting and sneezing.

The small sorcerer-astrologer looks on as the shapeshifter tears into the demonic undead reducing him to ash before looking to Zalara. Taking a moment to ensure she's still alive, he glances back to the shifter and says,"Let me see what I can do about the corruption of this place...no promises of course." He then renews the light at the end of his staff to get started.
Moving to the head of the chapel he clears his throat and offers a quick prayer for success to Vardema and Eluna, the ousted goddess of this chapel and his own patron respectively. Invoking his magic initially proves a bust, as he's still abuzz from the conflict he presumes. Not to mention the spell is new to him and as yet relatively unpracticed so he takes a moment longer to center himself properly. With that, he gestures a bit more broadly, intoning a personal mantra of his as he does. He radiates a silvery aura and the atmosphere...changes. His palm becomes bright like a star as he undoes the negative arcana releasing the curse upon the temple and he suddenly goes lightheaded with the eldritch release brought forth with his effort.
Allosaurus clears the undead detritus from her mouth and sinuses with a final snort. As the half-blood moves to cleanse the shrine, she leaves him be. Instead, her attention moves to the fallen one in foul-smelling artifice. She leans her muzzle down to bump Zalara, exhaling hot breath (and hopefully keeping the stench at bay) and calling upon Ea's own breath to mend some of her wounds.
Zalara ughs as she gets up and she looks around, "I hope we won cause if not I wanna speak to the Grey Harpist...I've been a good girl." She winces as she gets out some disks with green glowing liquid and she picks one to put it on her skin. She winces and ahs softly as the healing magic of her contraptions takes effect.
Fayde leans on his staff for a moment longer,"I hope this wins me a few towards redeeming my ancestry." He then rights himself from it to step towards the other two.
(Aftermath)
Agony has been guarding the passageway into a unhallowed catacombs found in the cellars below. Probably his handiwork. But the place had several people tied up and seated close to a gem that seems to be leeching life force out of them. There are not many, which makes one wonder where the others are. When revived, the prisoners say that some of the villagers were taken to an underground passageway that was opened up by an explosion. No one knows how the explosion came to be, but soon after that, the undead creatures were swarming out from under the hill and has been capturing and taking prisoners back into its dark depths.
