  • Title: The Vardo and the Pool
  • Emitter: Ezil
  • Characters: Ezil, Cryosanthia, Garrett, Arynne, Merek, Wyniko, Kaydin, Kaelyn
  • Place: H03: Eldwyn Road Stables
  • Time: Monday, February 24, 2020, 9:15 PM
  • Summary: Ezil invites Cryosanthia to see his new Vardo, and new shield. Also, the four mules from their demonic adventure with the Temple of Daeus, whom Ezil has purchased also. Cryo is impressed, although somehow the conversation drifts towards scale-mites, which are absolutely horrid. The two decide to go to the Fernwood pub. On the way, they run into Garrett, Merek and Arynne. Merek offers to take everyone to the plane of Water, which flabergasts most. Arynne, the dawn elf, is unknown to Cryo but seems to know things about her, and has some good recommendations for places to visit in the water plane. This, combined with Garrett outing her as a wizard at the same time as Merek decides it's time for another display of magic, freaks out the sith-makar and she runs off randomly into the woods. Arynne and Ezil head to town, but Cryo's adventure continues. She encounters Kaydin first, leaping past him, fating the half-elf to deal with Merek who is somewhat pursuing the sith, but also picking herbs, mapping the woods, at night, and randomly casting spells. Wyniko appears, further terrifying Cryo, who insists things are chasing her. The sith keeps going, only to nearly be pounced by Kaelyn, who has gone feral and is hunting deer. The pounce misses her, hitting a deer, which Kaelyn procedes to tear to pieces and devour, much to Merek's horror. Finally, Cryo jumps down a waterfall into its plunge pool and decides she can hide underwater for a least and hour, possibly longer with careful breathing, which seems to finally free her from pursuit.

Stables -----------------------------------

Storage for grain and hay is kept onsight in the lofts, with a number of felines present to keep down the mouse and rat population. Serriel's and Gilead's symbols may be seen, inscribed on the stables' western-facing side. Too the east roams the great Tornmawr River, and eventually, the Redridge Mountains. To the east, Eldwyn Road winds northwards to Wilderness Point, and south to Alexandria.

Despite the rain and sleet, Cryosanthia received a letter from Ezil to come to the stables north of town. It was delivered to her usual place of work, The Fernwood. It's terrible weather, but the Paladin promised to make it up with food, and drink a bit later, and his quick writing left a mess of the pages he scribbled on. Though, there was no emergency. He sits grooming one of four mules, talking to them in a soothing tone. They might look familiar, some sporting the scarring of minor burns, but they are still in great health. "You're a good one, Crepe. I'm glad they let you go. All of you are something special." smiling wide as he goes about his task, giving them all a glance. He's already groomed three of the four. Outside rests a covered wagon, one painted in blues and purples much like Ezil's armor, one made in the ways of the Faring Folk.

The sith-makar appears, summoned. Heralded by clicking claws on ice covered cobblestones, she pushes the stable doors open. The cold comes in with her, and as usual, she's underdressed. Her white leather armour, hat, gloves and cape, winter boots courtesy of Caim. She is also, very clean. She whips her hat off in a manner intended to flick anything on it away to the side, then once done, replaces it. Adjusting the rim, she walks closer, "I got your note Ezil. You... Oh! Is that the Vardo! Are those the mules? You brave little beasts, hello, hello, hello, hello."

Ezil stands and nods quickly as Cryosanthia comes in. "Yes! The Temple of Daeus let me have them. Well... not free." noting the last part as he laughs, and moves to let himself out of the stall.

"I didn't pay too much for them, but it just felt fitting." the paladin seeming pleased with himself as he looks between the four stalls he's renting. "We have, Crepe, Waffles, Blintz, and over there." pointing to the back corner. "Is pancake." very pleased with himself indeed.

"A blintz, that is a breakfast food. So a balanced breakfast pulls your vardo? This one cannot imagine something better." Cryosanthia laughs, moving towards Pancake, giving the animal time to see and adjust to her presence. They were well trained and faced a demon, a sith-makar should not bother them. Still, no reason to be an unpleasant surprise. She reaches out and scratches behind the ears, "Hello Mr or Mrs P, this one is glad to see you again."

Ezil bobs his head, leaning against one of the stall doors, and hanging a comb from the iron hook that rests there. "I hope you weren't too busy. I thought I could give you a ride back to town, and we could get dinner." still smiling as he watches the Sith-Makar saying her hellos to their old 'friends'. "I didn't think I would ever be a driver like my father, but I had the knack, and these fellows showed me that they are up for what we do. I knew I wanted them, and not any others."

Cryosanthia bobs her head enthusiastically, "I would love a ride back to town. I'll tell you what happened at the Fairgrounds. Are you sure it is safe to take it out now? The streets are really slippery. It would be a poor omen to slide into a building after first getting it. The mules are a good choice, I am happy. You will be a great owner."

Ezil points to the mules. "We ran through a narrow pass.... in the dark... chased by demons." smirking as he looks out at the weather. "Though, I might have to buy them some winter blankets." letting out a hesitant noise as the sleet seems to give him pause. "Is it sad I almost don't want to take them out in this weather unless I have too?" Yes, he seems to care about his purchase. "Well, they should be fine, but I leave it up to you. I.... just had to share."

"I would keep them warm and dry. Let their first time out with you be in the bright sunshine. It does not have to be warm, but bright and stirring. Trail the two not pulling behind the Vardo, so they all have the maiden trip." Cryosanthia suggests off the cuff, instantly thinking of symbolism and meaning. "Get blankets to keep them warm, make sure their shoes are sound."

She sniffs, raising her snout, "Perhaps... clean the stables. This may be more manure than even my white gloves can handle. I am used to lizards, in outside pens. At least there are no scale-mites."

"Scale-mites? Sound as bad a ticks and fleas." Ezil's words coming with a raised brow. "You're right, though. I will save their first voyage for a good day if we can."

"Does it smell so bad? I will clean their stalls, but the bedding is fresh. I...." Ezil's glance going around the stable with a shrug. "I guess you get used to it when you're raised around mules and horses. I don't know much about the Sith-Makar steeds."

"Swiftclaws, the draftlizards that haul and carry. What Kaelyn's lower body was before she became a feather dragon. You have seen them. Wingscreamers. The scale-mites are terrible! The jungles of Am'shere are very fecund, breeding all sorts of bugs. Large. The scale-miles, small. They move in a straight line, and climb."

Cryosanthia demonstrates, pointing at the floor and gesturing along, then raising her finger. "They are specific, but also not picky. So one can get sith-scale-mites, swift-scale-mites, and so on. They drop off, wander, climb and nudge under a scale where they bite. They enjoy inconvenient places, private places, around the eyes, worse. Inaccessible places. You see how many scales I have, can you imagine, inspecting under each one with tweezers? I can't do around my eyes, other areas. I have to find someone trustworthy, it's embarassing and it takes HOURS. And one dirty raptor running by and you can get them again. The Shaman-caste have spells, my cleaning gloves will remove them. You cannot believe how good that felt, to finally know this one had gotten them all. Every caravan that arrives from Am'shere has to be disinfected, and cleaning Mictlan is one of the duties I do. It is hard to clean dirt, this one must emphasize."

Ezil stands there listening, blinking as her tale goes on. Eventually that evolves into slight horror, and a bit of disgust at the end. "I.. had no idea." his words flowing with a stunned tone, pausing and just shaking his head. "That's... that's terrible. Far worse than fleas and ticks. It's like Sith-Makar lice!" a hand raising to scratch lightly through his hair. "It gives me the itches just thinking about it." shuddering at the memory of his youth, and coming off that stall door with a noticable twitch. "Okay, you have won this discussion. I can think of no larger annoyance."

As he stands tall, Ezil shakes off those thoughts of creepy-crawlys, looking back at Cryosanthia. "Well, White-One? Are you hungry? I just have to grab my shield, and I can head back to town with you."

The palescale sith bobs her head, "I could eat, yes. You have a new shield?"

Ezil nods. "I do. Want to see it?" asking as he pulls his cloak tight, and makes his way towards the door. "It's much better than my wooden one."

"Oh yes." Cryo follows to the door.

The Eldwyn Road meanders continuously around hills, wilderness, and farmland, though it is occasionally broken by fingerlets from the great Tornmawr. At one point, the road crosses the Tornmawr itself, which takes place by use of a ferry.

Further east and past the ferry are the great Redridge Mountains. These mountains, which run mostly north and south, charge through the landscape, and even through the eastern end of the Lord's City of Alexandria.

Towards the south is the city, with its flags rising far above the walls. The fiery Rising Phoenix almost glows in the sunlight and airships may be seen both in flight and in dock, as they make use of a carefully sculpted section of the Redridge.

Towards the north, the landscape of rolling hills and farmland breaks into denser forest.

-=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-

Ezil steps out into the rain, and crosses to dip into the back of the vardo, grabbing the new shield from within. As he comes out, he hops down and presents it to Cryosanthia with both hands. A heavy metal shield, it's quality clearly of master's make. It sports a starburst across the front, but within it's center is a rose in fullbloom. It shimmers to the eye when it's shifted, showing the barest hints of enchantment. "I had it made... but, worried it was too flashy. Maybe, that's a good thing though."

Cryosanthia holds the shield at arms length, turning it and inspecting the sheen, as well as examining the starburst and the rose design. She holds it easy despite the weight, betraying her hidden strength. She brings it close, turning her head so she can get her cheek against the shield and her eye right up against the embossing. Her pupil adjusts as she examines closerly. "I am envious. This is great. You should never worry about being too flashy."

"Shields are meant to hold a noble's crest." Garrett says as he walks up to them, he was wearing his working gear, meaning leather armor, and weapons along his body. He looks the two over. "This is almost adorable. if I didnt know any better I would say you both were gawking at each other." He says with a smirk as he lowers his cloth from his face.

Ezil smirks to Cryosanthia, nodding his head. "I am glad you like it. I wanted it to match my buckle." a hand shifting to his swordbelt, and showing how it looks like the rose on his shield. As Garrett speaks, he turns to the voice and raises a brow. "I...well. We were gawking at the mules I bought." he muses, a vardo sitting next to the stables where the three stand. "Though, as for a noble's crest... It is Telmentar's sign, not mine. I thought it fitting." motioning to the new shield that Cryosanthia inspects. They stand in the light rain and sleep, seeming to discuss pleasantries. "We were just headed to town, Garrett. What brings you out here?"

Walking her way out of the city, a blonde elf walks her way towards the stables to see the mules. She tilts her head as she looks at them, but looks to Ezil. "Yours?" She says simply before nodding her head to Cryosanthia. "Peace on your nest, Speaker."

Merek looks like he is traveling along the roads, his leather belted boots adjusted to each foot, while he wears a longcoat upon the dark attire he wears. He does notice people while he waves that way as well!

Cryo returns the shield to Ezil, and examines the matching design on the buckle, "I do, they suit you well."

The palescale sith turns to gaze upon Garrett, her head tilted, eyes staring. Silent and still, then she asks, "Why do you mock me? Was my concern about your activities so insulting? Do you need to hear your hatred for nobles is justified? Then yes, this one saw one who took a diamond from Merek without even a thanks, making your opinions true."

Hearing the greeting she turns towards it, "Peace on your Nest. Ha, and there is Merek too."

Garrett looks to the people who show up and he smirks at the blonde. He then turns to the sith and he nods. "So how are things?" He asks curiously as he studies the dragonborn. He then turns to Merek and waves at the human before turning to Ezil. "So how goes the demon friend of yours?" He asks curiously.

Ezil smiles as he takes the shield Cryosanthia offers, and uses it's strap to throw over his shoulder. "They are now." answering the Sildanyari with mirth, and pride. "I acquired them from the Temple of Daeus. They're wonderful beasts, and helped us face down a powerful demon." yes, he is happy to have them, it's clear.

A wave is cast to Merek, nodding as he approaches, but as Garrett speaks, he turns with a shrug. "Still around. Pissed about the protection I have, but.... he accepts the reasons." a glance shot to Arynne nervously. "Apologies. My work sometimes comes with bits of strangeness."

"What's this about the nobility? I was one, in my old lands, before we came to Rune and Alexandros," Merek says, with a nod between people, "Ah, those people. I will be doing what I can to see him change." He smiles then to Garrett, Ezil, Cryosanthia, and Arynne. "Right, I'm planning an expedition into the Planes, probably Water, if people would be a bit interested, likely in the safer area!"

"Nobility does suck. I know being formerly the house in charge of Silvermoon." Garrett says as he watches the blonde to see if she reacts. Regardless he looks to Cryosanthia and smiles. "So want to go visit various planes and get smashed by a cave troll in the plane of earth?"

GAME: Merek rolls knowledge/nobility: (12)+8: 20

"From the Temple of Daeus? Interesting, didn't think they'd keep mules at all." The blonde says. "House Son'Doriel is extremely xenophobic. So nobility can be really crappy, with that level of tightrope walking." She then looks to Cryosanthia. "New to Mictlan, am I correct?"

"The plane of water." Cryosanthia says in a flat voice, blinking once. "And we just go? Do we bring a boat. Is it all water or is there some air too? I can hold my breath a while, but would not want to test it. I like swimming, but that might be too much."

She faces Arynne and makes a small curtsey, her hands in front of her. "Apologies, many friends approached. I am Cryosanthia, a Speaker as you noted. Nice to meet you. Cryo is fine also, in the Fernwood and emergencies. Yes, new to Mictlan."

"I'm wary of the risk." She answers Garrett.

Ezil raises a brow to Arynne, the words of House Son'Doriel seeming to peak his interest. "Well, these were ones they used for their personal travels. We did some work for them, and they carried us through a tough spot. I... didn't want to part with them after that. I don't think they breed or keep them for sale. I was just... insistent." the All-friend admits, answering the Syl's first question.

"Merek, you were a noble? I would never of guessed." Ezil's attention shifting briefly. "And... to another plane? Just... that easy? I..." his hesitation there, but hearing Cryosanthia voice much the same protest, he finds a smirk. "I am not one for swimming. Is there a plane of forests, or a plane of.... something I couldn't drown in?" he muses.

"Probably! We can find any Plane you like! Water is safest generally because it has specialized locales that you don't need to swim within. Fairly safe from the wildlife," Merek says, then he nods to Garrett, "You aren't because I'm familiar with that ruling family!" He does nod to Ezil, "I was, kinda, I mean until my family moved, a long story," he adds. Then to Cryosanthia and to Arynne, "Anyway! I can bring people there and back in 1 day!"

"I was a noble too. Dont you know, I am slumming it with you humans." Garrett says sarcastically as he looks to Arynne. "Name's Garrett." He says as he watches the woman. He then looks to Merek. "Plane of water...just what I need, to meet water elves."

"If you're willing to hear recommendations....Merek, I believe." the blonde says softly. "Oh....I'm Arynne of House Arcanum. PLeased to meet you all. But if you're willing to hear recommendations, I'd be willing to give a few. Not myself. I don't think I have a water breathing spell."

"I am barely used to buildings with glass windows. I am not sure about travelling planes. I'm wary of going to a place I can't leave on my own. I don't want to be trapped." Cryo admits, looking at Merek. Her head swivels a few times, to look back at Arynne of House Arcanum, seeming a little confused. Finally she asks Merek again, "Are there not... more pressing things, than tripping to another plane? You..."

She raises one finger, scaled with a thick nail, large knuckles, shakes it in a 'making a point' manner, "Your mind is the most confusing to me of the Softskins. I cannot follow your logic."

"Seem to be running into many house arcanum wizards of late." Garrett says calmly. "If house Son'Doriel is xenophobic then house arcanum is afraid of any new thought." He says with a shrug. He then looks to Cryo. "Should see Silvermoon. The height of elven architecture, with all the latest foods and the knowledge, if you can pry it out of the various houses incharge of it."

"Where are my manners?" Ezil says with a bit of a start. "I am Ezil Alrain, All-Friend, and follower of Telmentar." introducing himself to Arynne, and looking at the others, pointing to Merek. "He is indeed, Merek." musing this bit as he looks back to the Syl. "I'm sure he'd be happy for any recommendations. I am just a blessed sword, and I go where the trouble brews. I don't really have much free will. Don't let the others fool you." his joking coming with a shrug. "It's good to meet you."

"The White-One and I were about to find a meal in town. Get out of the rain, and relax. I would hate to keep all of you in this weather. Should we... head somewhere then?" Ezil offering to include them all in his earlier plans.

"I'd like recommendations," Merek says, then he looks to Cryo, "Well, it's a quest for knowledge, and all of the Planes are usually endless, I don't think you'd feel like that," he adds. There's a look at the wagging finger while he nods a bit, then stands with the woman while he nods to Ezil as well, "I am thinking about getting a bit of Outsider information!" He then makes a few gestures while he speaks within Celestial and Draconic. He then begins to walk into the air in a circle around his friends, "A meal and a drink!"

"You are incredibly opinionated." Arynne says for Garrett, but then turns to Merek. "If you are going to the plane of water, I would recommend, first, going to the northern river bank and looking for a human named 'Amythyst Rose'. If she is not at the bank....splash in the water a few times. She'll hear you. The other two are adept, but less so than Amythyst. Raethon of House Arcanum, or The Hearthguard Sasha. They will have requisite spells to assist." She says before looking up and smiling. "I don't mind the rain, but I'll take care of your food if you wish.....except for the half-elf's"

"Ooohhhh...." Cryosanthia says, her word starting strong, then drawing out and fading. At the same time her pupils get wider at the same rate, spreading from slits to wide ovals, finally nearly filling her eyes completely. Her head draws up, her tail drops down, hands drift to her belt. Her breath is held. Without moving, she's noting the locations of Garrett, Merek, Ezil, the wizard.

Merek is Merek, he cannot be comprehended. Garrett is hostile of late, untrustworthy? Ezil, All-friend, safe. The stranger... an elf wizard that knows personal details...

Then Merek does Merek, walking up in the air. It's too much.

"YesEzil. ThatSoundsWonderful. I'llSeeyouthere!" Cryo bolts, grabbing the Tsuran and moving around him, positionning him between herself and everyone else.

Ezil laughs at Cryosanthia moving him about. He's not mad, or frustrated at her antics. It seems he finds mirth in how she panics at times. "Cryo! Calm down for a moment." his jovial tone taken as he looks to Arynne with an apologetic glance. "Please don't take it personally." shifting under the Sith-Makar's touch. "She's warry of.... wizards. Some trauma there." he states with a bit of a sigh.

Ezil's free hand had made a sigil with his fingers while he was being whipped around, and his glance remaining on Arynne while this transpired. "Cryo.... she's not like the people you met, hon. She's good. She has no aura." he assures, turning back to look at his scaled-friend. "I'm telling you. She's alright. You can calm down."

Merek scratches his nice thick stubble while he looks to Arynne, and next to Garrett. "You should be nice, that's Garrett," he says. He then makes a gesture while he nods. Then he's walking to settle on top of Ezil's vardo, "Let's be on our way to the pub!" He does nod to Arynne, "Thank you for information!" He does peek to Cryosanthia, "It's alright, I can protect you if the wizards try anything, in fact I can create spell resistance!"

Arynne is already walking back towards the city. "You have no need to fear me, ma'am. I just happen to get information through my talents. Usually it's a brief warning before enemies attack, but I can pass that information to allies when I can put my hand on their shoulder...."

"A seer. Useful talent, providing you can warn me when the watch is coming." Garrett says as he watches the woman. He then looks to Cryosanthia and moves between her and the elf. "So why leave Silvermoon? Compared to home, alexandria is a dump."

"GoingToSetTable!" Cryo yells an explanation to Ezil. One that will be hard to fulfill, as her random direction away from the wizard seems to also be away from Alexandria. She vanished in a flash, in a flat out run. Away. Especially since she's convinced Merek is going to do something that emphasizes her weakness, like teleport in front of her. She angles into the trees at the side of the road, and is soon whipping through them like she would the jungle back home. Except they're all farther apart and there's too much slippery snow. Still, she coils, climbs, slides under and jumps off them to keep moving.

Merek watches while the woman does the flee wizard, and nods a bit, while he looks to the vardo which he is settled upon, then he nods with a shift, stepping idly towards the air then onwards to the path, before he begins to scan the horizon for which way she's going, traveling that way himself! On foot. It's boring.

Watching as Merek flies away, and Cryosanthia sprints away, Arynne sighs and shrugs. "Well...I guess I can head back to the city." She says starting to walk back.

Ezil sighs, about to offer a ride in his vardo to town. The dawn elf isn't waiting and the vardo would take time to hook up the mules. "I'll walk with you."

Garrett reluctantly follows the elf. He really didnt want to compare war stories of silvermoon politics, but he is following her nonetheless.

The white sith-makar keeps running, doing her best to look like snow in winter.

Kaydin been in the forest, watching the local wildlife. A recently born deer was walking with her mother. He then watches the deer's ears turn and soon hears himself the running woman. He moves to infront of her and tries to stop her. He never wrestled a dragonborn before.

Cryo is not stopping and she is not moving through the woods like one skilled at doing so. It's more of a headlong bull's rush and a full panick. A wide trail, lots of scratches on trees and broken branches as she moves by. Kaydin stepping in front of her is just another obstacle to get by, she jumps and threads past him. "Being chased! Merek maneuvers his way along within the forest, not even fast. He does look back, seeing the others didn't go that way. He seems to think about it, then he points to the air, while he brings about a dancing lantern, and nods satisfied. The lantern seems to shimmer in colors that note which way Alexandria is, should she need it to get back that way. He then begins to gather herbs along the way. Guiding lizard light, shine the way back. He figures it best she thinks no one with magic is following her!

Kaydin tries to grab at the jumping lizard but his hands close around nothing, not even touching her tail. He climbs back up to his feet and he looks up to the sky and sees the lantern. He then begins to head towards someone gathering his herbs he planted. "You know those belong to me, right?" He says as he watches merek. "Thats sorta adorable, you trying to map the forest." He says with a grin.

Cryo keeps going. She'll end up... somewhere. Probably Mictlan. At the very worst, she'll have to retrace her steps, but she's leaving a very clear path.

Merek holds up five platinum pieces, then he nods to Kaydin while he offers that to the man, along with the herbs. Then he beams, "That'll cover it, thank you, I like maps!" Then he makes a gesture while he speaks, he is invisible! Then it's back into the night to do spooky ghost lantern in the sky which clearly is far away from the woman, it'll be there for a while if she needs the guidance!

It's moving as fast as it is loud.

Merek looks around a bit, then he speaks to Kaydin, "Spooky!" he says, then he picks up sticks to wiggle them about to make like they are floating while he walks around a bit. Then, he teleports away, and becomes visible, while he sneaks away in the direction that people are! Which, he's not great with sneaking!

That something making it's way to Kaelyn is also itself now being followed. The foray into the forest did not go unnoticed, Wyniko now in pursuit of the white Sith-Makar. "Cryosanthia! Wait!" his stealth broken as a bit of brush the woman went between slams into his feathery face. "Ack! No fun! Why run?!" the Egalrin so confused. He had been out night hunting, and now he is trying to figure out why a friend is being so strange.

Kaydin catches up in time to see wyniko get hit in the face. He moves along. "If you can track, follow me. She cant be that far ahead." He says as he reads the trail and follows it. "Even my mom can track this trail." He says as he moves on ahead of wyniko and doesnt bother paying attention to merek. Hopefully he wont get anymore of his herbs.

GAME: Merek rolls reflex: (1)+10: 11 (EPIC FAIL)
GAME: Kaydin rolls perception: (17)+11: 28

Merek takes off after Wyniko and Kaydin while he speaks, "Wait up for me!" He then remembers he was air walking, and begins walking to above the two that are there. Then he walks right into a tree arm while he makes a noise and begins to spin around upon that, flinging him right into the floor of the jungle.

Kae hears something, she blinks she can see out, her nose twitches too... Look A deer? It's being pushed by something? Kae can tell by how it's moving. She really doesn't know just how....

She tenses, her toes digging into the turf as those claws grab for purchase.... Her body crouches, as she tenses up, getting completely and wholly still as if frozen in place as she just waits...

Then somethng in her head kind of goes off, and suddenly that blind explodes outward as a large mass of fur, feathers, and well teeth and claws blurs out of the blind... The deer really doesn't have the time to do more than tense slightly as large teeth, and claws sink home and the two critters end up rolling through the snow... there's a dull snap and well the deer is limp, as Kae's looking now in the direction of the oncoming tromping, eyes litterally glowing a dull blue...

"Being Chased! Not Stopping!" The white-scaled sith calls back to the egalrin. Cryo's world has reduced to things she has to avoid, and things she can push off to go farther. Despite the slippery conditions, she's still moving in wildly acrobatic ways, as well using the tree trunks as launching pads. Kaelyn's sudden surge and slaying of a deer in front of her registers as a bigger rock to go over. She slows only enough to flip over the Feather Dragon, moving in a straight line in a flat our run.

Kaydin looks to the kaelyn and he stops when an owl flies to his shoulder and hands him a note on it's claws. "Fun's over. Got to head back home. Someone catch her before she ends up in felwood." He says as he begins to head off.

Merek looks like he will roll into Wyniko, even though if he doesn't, he does look to Cryosanthia and Kaelyn, while he blinks, "Ahhh, it's the Felwood Woolly Glow!" He takes up a little pack of powder he keeps with him to ward away the being!

Kae did have a kind of feral look, her mouth wrapped around the neck of the deer, claws burried. And then she is leaped over... Her rather aggressive look goes from well aggressive, to purely confused... She's pretty much a mess, blood here and there and whatnot, and well a deer underneath her as she looks back toward where Cryo just ran, then stares down ad the deer, then back to Cryo, then she flails her arms and wings "I Finally manage to take a deer and this starts up!" She then looks at the deer and sighs sadldly...

Kae siiiiiighs and looks down... "This whooole time I been this way and I finally use what's built in to make a Kill and Imma has to go chase someone down." She says and pouts.... Then she's getting powder thrown at her... More blink and more confusion.... She then calls out "Cryo! Whyfore are you running!!"

There's a low keening noise from Cryosanthia, as her fairly simple strategy of 'run away in a straight line' isn't working at all. How busy are these woods! "Being chased!" She shouts, which is accurate, although not by the thing she's afraid of. Diving, squirming, and simply pounding through the snow should be giving her some distance, although her trail is so clear it's visible in the dark. She decides she'll try something new, as soon as she finds water deep enough to submerge in.

The quest to find Cryosanthia, wait was that why he was about? He had a latern to assist her, right he was making maps. Merek nods a bit to Kaelyn, "You are feeding upon these deer, what do you request that we have... Safe, oh that's you." He blinks a bit, "There was a wizard." A little moment of thought, "And two rangers and a cleric, they walk into a forest you see."

Kae blinks again and looks to where Cryo is running, and then blinks once more and looks at her deer, and back to where Cryo is and at her deer... She then shrugs, lifts the deer in her mouth and gives chase! Bout all the sound she can make is muffled growly grumbly noises!!!

The white-scale sith hears something growling behind her, following her trail. Something dark, dangerous, large. She draws the obvious conclusion that the wizard summoned something to catch her. She has to hide, and she remembers streams are good for that, when they're not frozen. Fortunately she finds one, angles to follow it. While the surface is frozen it's wide between the banks, and carries some water. She finds a small waterfall, and canonballs down, smashing through the ice.

She can hold her breath a long time, and she can stay under longer if she manages sips of air while under cover. She goes straight into the plunge pool and dives to the bottom, finding a rock to hold herself under, hiding in the turbulent water. The chill is comforting. It's almost like lurking in the river back home.

And she waits.

"Ah, don't chase her like that, she will think you're crazy!" Merek says, then he sighs while he takes a moment to follow Kae. Might as well look to see if she needs any assistance with the deer! Looks like he might camp for the night, probably a fair bit away still it's nice to be away from the city!

Kae ends up stopping near the River, and turns to look at Merek, setting the deer down and she tilts her head "Oooh, well she does kinda know me." She states, mouth quite a bit bloody before Kae's stomach rumbles and she shrugs. Soon enough she's bracing the animal she caught, reaches down and takes a very large bite of the deer..

She looks up at Merek and stares, while she downs the last bit "Sure she won't think me any crazier for eating the deer this way either." She says and grins a bit...

The water falls into the plunge pool, and the sith-makar waits, feeling the cold seep in under every scale, and it's heavenly.

Dramatis Personae

The Vardo
This vardo is drawn by a sturdy set of mules. The mules bear a few scars and a can-do attitude; animals who have 'seen a few things.' The inside is a comfortable area, with public places for seating. In one corner are a set of candles dedicated to Althea.

Arynne
Standing 5'2", This woman has blonde hair trailing down to her waist, usually braided. She has an angular face with large blue eyes. Her hair frames her eyes, to make them look a little fiercer than they normally would. She also has full pink lips and pointed ears.
She has a slender body, but not malnourished. She still has feminine curves, but they're more slight than a normal human's. She typically wears white robes over her body along with a belt to keep her pouches on.
