Temple Meeting

Morgan comes out of the Eluna temple with a slight yawn "how can any one mess up a incenseburner like that, I mean wow." some what muttered to her self.

Ga'Elian looks at Morgan and asks, "What? Did someone reshape the braziers as brassieres?"

Morgan shakes her head "no just some cheap incense and it messed with brass and now part of it is purple."

A roar of laughter can be heard from Tarien's Temple. This is, admittedly, not unusual, in that many of their services end that way. Shortly thereafter Yelrona steps out, chatting with two Luckbringers at the temple door before she leaves.

Seeing the crowd of familiar faces in the Temple Circle, she joins them. "Evening! No werewolves this time, I trust?"

Astaren glances up to Morgan and grins, "That would probably be me, never was very good with the incense stuff. Back left corner?" Looking a bit sheepish, then smiling to Yelrona, 'Welcome to join us."

"Thanks!" Rona says to Astaren. "Oh, hey, I've been meaning to ask you: that thing you do, where when you sleep with people you can take them places? How far can that go?"

Astaren ahhs to Morgan, "He is new, a novice I think. be patient with him." then glances over to Yelrona and hmms, "Oh depends on the night and all, I can get up to half the continent on a good night."

Ga'Elian looks at Astaren and Yelrona and raises an eyebrow.

Munch buzzes quietly to himself... well, not that quietly, the metal barbarian isn't exactly subtle... and wanders into the District, peering around with idle curiousity. Spying a group of familiar faces, the golem heads their way.

Yelrona nods appreciatively. "Nice. I may have need for your services, then, for another trip to Charn. If you're willing, of course."

Morgan asks "So is that your pick up line, sleep with me and we can travel."

Astaren nods to Yelrona, "I would be glad to help if you want." Then glances to Morgan looking highly confused, "pick up line? What is that?"

Munch blinks with a soft click. "Charn? Why are you headed to Charn? And when? And can I come? Hopefully I'll be able to leave by then."

Ga'Elian looks at Munch and asks, "Is that ettercap still haunting you?"

Morgan shakes her head "never mind me, I spent time cleaning incens I still have that smell in my nose."

"Thanks," Rona tells Astaren, "I appreciate it. Getting in and out without anyone noticing is a _lot_ easier when you're involved." She winks at Morgan. "All guys promise to take you places you've never been, but Astaren delivers!"

To Munch: "I need to check out Black River Ford, see if I can find out who sent me a Kulthian Binder, and why. And -- ettercap? Someone was asking me about ettercaps the other day, I forget who, but... why were you being haunted by an ettercap?"

Munch nods. "Yeah, I killed it a while ago. Seems mad. I talked to the Mourner Kerbasi, he has some sort of Holy Shovel that might destory it utterly, but we havn't worked out the details yet."

Astaren glances to Morgan, glances to Yelrona, and is utterly confused. "THere are times when I think not learning the ways of men and women might have been a mistake. Spent all my youth in books." sighing as he rubs his head, "Anyways, "Let me know when Yelrona, and we can arrange it."

Ga'Elian says, "But a ghost is great target practice. You kill it, then you killnit again, and again, and again."

Yelrona blinks. "An undead ettercap? That's a new one on me."

Morgan was about to say something to her mentor but is stuck on a undead ettercap "I did not know aberations like them can be undead... new to me."

Munch says, "Yeah, I was a little surprised myself. Keeps sending spiders as really crappy assassians. The really big ones are kinda a little dangerous, but i don't think the little ones could hurt me if I tried. the tiny ones are harmless on their own, but get a few hundred together, and they get unplesant."

Yelrona nods. "Bats are like that too," she says, somewhat irrelevantly.

Morgan hmms "well from a arcane casting you could destroy it, but I would rather suggest you as a divine caster as necromancy is a pain in the ass."

Ga'Elian says, "Now wights? You kill them and they're done, but Heth replaces them so easily that he seems to have an inexhaustible supply of them. A few hundred wights is more annoying than a few hundred teeny spiders."

Astaren looks to Munch and considers, "Sounds like the nightmare that keeps targeting me. Makes animals always trying to kill me or hurt me." shaking his head, "Yea, good luck with that. Kerbasi is a good one to work with, just watch out ofr his poetry." glancign to Ga'elian, "I want to test that, see how easily or how many Heth can replace. Nothing is inehuastable I think, and it only seems that way."

Munch nods in agreement. "Wights aren't too bad on their own, but get a handful of them, and yeah, nasty. And seems it's never just wights. They always have something big and unplesant along for the ride. Or maybe I've just been lucky."

Ga'Elian nods. "Like dracoliches?"

Yelrona nods. "Or graveknights."

Ga'Elian muses, "I wonder if the Tarrasque were to fight Heth, which would win. Hmm." He rubs his chin ponderously.

Morgan looks to Elian "dont bring up questions like that, all the wizards and bards will debate that for years." she then gives a yawn "I better get home see you all later."

Munch nods. "Never fought a dracolich. Not sure on graveknights... was some sort of zombie thing in armor with a sword, so maybe?" He blinks again, and looks to Ga'Elian. "Tarrasque." No hesitation. He might be bias for the apex preadator he envies.

"I'm not sure," Rona says to Elian, "but I'd give a lot to set up that fight."

Astaren shivers a moment, "I have fought a dracolich, not a fun fight. Actually the same instance where I found the dragon bone. We were in dragoner, and saving a library of books and artifacts. Heth send one of their most powerful minions."

Munch ponders a few moments. "...so what's a Black River Ford?"

Ga'Elian ooc AFKs

"A shipping center in Charn," Rona explains. "On the Black River, naturally. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about it, at least not as far as I can tell from here... but whoever sent me the Dark Artifice Binder, that's where they sent it from."

Munch considers again. "How is Dark Artifice different from regular artifice, exactly? I sorta vaugely understand MY specific artifice, but not the general distinctions.

Astaren has gone quiet to listen to the conversation

"Well, I'm no expert on artifice," Rona admits. "But the way it was explained to me, it's like necromancy, it draws on the life force of the living and the recently killed for its power. Artificers _really_ don't like it."

Munch nods, pondering a moment. "But not necromancy is bad, right? I mean yeah, most of the time guys like me bump into it is somethign that's been abused to hurt people, but the classification of magic itself can be used for good. I mean, I'm alive, I'm artifice, somehow my life force is tied up in my artifice, so that would make me at least a little Dark Artifice, yeah?"

Ga'Elian looks like all this talk is sailing clean over his head, but he does ask, "So is restoring a dead thing to life, like, say, resurrecting a gld dragon for example, 'necromancy'?"

Astaren yawns as he leans over and lays down. Within seconds he is asleep, then seconds later he fades out of existance.

Astaren goes home.

Astaren has left.

"Well," Rona replies, "as I say, I don't know much about artifice... you undoubtedly know a lot more than I do. But as for necromancy... well, sure, like any magic it's a tool and can be used to any end, and nobody objects much to returning a willing soul to life. And if I kill someone I don't suppose it matters much whether I kill them through draining their life force, setting fire to them, or putting an arrow in their chest. But also, necromancy is tied intimately to the creation of undead, so it's frowned on." She shrugs. "You'd do better to ask a Verdaman than a Tarienite about such things, though."

Munch nods, and shrugs. "This Black Ford, or whatever... important sort of place? Would they have lot of guards there? Speicifcally, do you think they'd have any of those Trigons? I've read about them, but never had a chance to eat one. I keep hoping, but they're pretty much only found in Charn, and pretty uncommon even there, as I understand."

Ga'Elian asks, "What's a Trigon?"

"Black River Ford, and... I doubt it? From what I've been able to find out, it's a pretty minor territory, nobody important lives there," Rona explains. "And Trygons... those are, like, corrupted Drakes, right? I've heard of them, but I've never seen one... like you said, they're really rare. I doubt there'd be any in a minor territory."

Ga'Elian says, "Minor drakes? Oh... like magically corrupted sith'makar?"

Munch nods. "Mad science dragon wannabe. Made from wyverns, maybe? But they do three elements, not just one. Lightning, fire, and cold, I think. Or maybe acid? Never actaully met one myself."

Yelrona shrugs. "I haven't heard anything about them being connected to Sith-Makar. But, yeah, they're at least cousins to wyverns, I suppose. And, right, three elements... that's where their name comes from. I guess the ones with acid as well would be Quadrigons?"

Ga'Elian nods. "Interesting. They may very well have nothing to do with Sith'makar. I only ask because I /had/ heard that the Charn would capture sith'makar and somehow transform them into more fearsome but somewhat mindless creatures bound to their captors as slaves. Perhaps it is merely another example of Charneth despicableness."

Munch buzzes softly. "i don't think they make ones with four, but maybe." He nods to Ga'Elian. "I heard something on that, but think is an entirely unrelated project."

"Well, there's no shortage of examples of Charneth despicableness," Rona agrees. "Which reminds me," she continues, hoping to steer the subject away from the transformation of sith'makar, "you remember that supposed Duke who landed here a few weeks back?" She waves in the direction of the Port. "Turns out that was all smoke and mirrors. He was just part of the Charneth spying on Alexandria, apparently."

Ga'Elian nods. "I heard. It seems Aya was never on her way to being a Charneth duchess."

Munch tsks. "Knew I should have put a hole in the boat. What I get for following my peaceful impulses."

Yelrona laughs. "Well, she wasn't exactly keen on the idea either way. But, yeah, sinking that boat up front would have saved a lot of trouble."

Ga'Elian says, "So, you'll disguise me and Astaren will somehow get us all to this marketplace. Then what do we do? Attack anything we see that is bringing greater evil into the world?"

Ga'Elian adds, "If so, I might actually run out of arrows."

Munch buzzes. "That's why I use an axe. Never run out of axe."

Yelrona blinks, startled by the question. "Well, I hadn't really intended to singlehandedly -- or, well, six-handedly -- take out an entire Charneth town. Though I've no doubt that you and Astaren could do it... I could supply arrows. But, no, my intention was more subtle... mostly, to try and identify my unknown benefactor, and why they sent me that Binder. Assuming it was intended as a benefit, that is... I suppose it's possible it was part of some kind of subtle curse, in which case I'd be trying to identify my unknown assailant. Either way though, if all goes well, no attacking involved."

Ga'Elian pouts. "Not even a little?"

Yelrona chuckles. "Well, I mean... I certainly wouldn't _object_ to taking out some Charneth targets. If we're disguised, I guess nobody would trace it back to Alexandria. But... Black River Ford?" She shrugs. "If we're going to do that, we'd do better to pick a more valuable target, wouldn't we?"
