Azog is here by the edge of river, fishing. He hasn't been here in a while, but it's much the same as he recalls. He's a bit upstream of the boats and any sort of commotion in the water, not that it's brought him much luck.

The notion of finding relaxation that that whoever-he-was in the library suggested sounds pretty good to Seldan, so rather than holing up in the library on this stunningly clear and beautiful afternoon, he's taken his notes to the park on the bank of the river, a place he hasn't been to before and only found a day or two ago. A seat on a nearby bench, feet stretched out, looking over the sheaf in his hand, and life is pretty good. Except for the incoming sunburn he's likely to get.

Erendriel is not relaxing at all. She is hard at work. Following a boat, she comes across the highbridge, and then walks straight DOWN its side, coming down to the river bank, and walking along it. ARms folded, eyes on one particular boat.

It turns out that the particular whoever-it-was from the library is at the park today too. Instead of reading a book, however, he's engaged in a very different pastime. The young Tsuran is out in the grass, most of his possessions lying next to a tree, save for the pants he's wearing. There's a sword in his hands, and he moves through the basic forms with the skill and passion of someone who's undergone formal training, already sweating a bit. In the middle of his back, near his shoulderblades, one can see a strange, geometric tattoo that's just symmetrical enough to be artful and decorative, and he has muscle tone that many more scholarly types often lack. Catching the familiar face out of the corner of his eye, that impish smile returns, resting the flat of the blade on one shoulder. "You following me now?" he teases.

Azog looks up at the person walking down the side of the bridge, and he grumbles something about scaring the fish, though his face is more than enough for that task. He looks over at the shouting fellow, but he's not shouting at Azog, so that's fine. He fishes some more. The bastard sword at his hip and the plate armor are perhaps not necessary for fishing -here-. But he wears them none the less. You never know.

It's the voice that gets Seldan's attention at first, drawing his eyes upwards from his page. Instead of flushing, though, he levels a look at Malik, without a trace of a smile, relaxation suddenly gone. "Should I be?" Erendriel's approach down the bridge and down the bank catches his eye, and he starts until he realizes who it is, returning his attention to Malik.

Erendriel keeps on watching, coming closer to the others. She will eventually notice them, and wave to everyone. "That ship..." she explains, pointing. "It's carrying something dangerous. I'm trying to see where it's going..." But then it stops, and she takes a seat on a big rock, staring at what happens.

Azog looks over at the ship? "What's it carrying that's dangerous?" he asks Erendriel, looking up from his fishing. He doesn't really note Seldan and Malik yet, it's just two fellows chatting, to him. And he approves of the training.

Malik doesn't seem put off by the seriousness of the gaze in the least. "Not a bad way to spend the day, if you're bored," he answers back to the Paladin. He nods over to the grass, though. "But if you -are-, I could use a partner. The air doesn't put up much of a fight." He leaves Seldan to think about that one, turning to the fishing orc and the woman watching the ship. "Dangerous like -- bad shellfish? Or dangerous like 'boxes full of demons'?" he asks. There are levels, after all.

Erendriel points again. "It's carrying dangerous scrolls. We're not sure what kind. There's nothing, you know, REALLY bad here right now, not that they'd trust me on that kind of job yet anyway. But they're trying me out. We're not sure what kind of scrolls. They might be demon summoning..."

Verna descends the path to and down the bank at an unhurried pace, most likely due to the focus of her attention upon the large book hovering open before her hood. A coppery spheroid hovers above and behind her right shoulder, the amber gem set at its equator pointed towards the pages and granting the semblance of perusing the material. "A scroll is not a danger, in and of itself, no more than blade nor bow. Intention, for good or ill, lies with the wielder."

"I am not bored," Seldan answers Malik, although his expression eases some. "Still, I have found little to make me think that my research topic is a real concern. I have yet to find anything evil amid my searches. I will spar with you, if you wish." He stands up and rolls the sheaf up, but before he can do anything else, Erendriel's topic takes over, but it's the new voice that chimes in first. "If we cannot say what it is, do you mean to do more than follow?"

Azog ehs? "Dangerous scrolls?" he asks. He ponders. Demon summoning? "As likely to be Sandy's recipe for demon jerky. Or was that Svarshan's recipe?" Nw he has to think about that. "Not Munch, he'd just eat it raw... hrm."

Kaydin was following the river and he came to the various people. He smiles and he waves. "Good day for fishing no?" He asks as he gets his rod and begins to cast it in the river. "So what are we talking about?" He asks as he keeps an eye on the makeshift bobber in the water.

Malik watches as others start to join, and the majority of the attention shifts toward the potentially dangerous ship, and the woman following it. He takes a towel from where it hangs in his belt, already starting to dry off as he sheathes the sword, for now. "Sounds like you might have something more pressing to deal with," he tells the other man, reaching to pull his shirt and boots back on. "Raincheck, though."

Seldan nods to Malik, sheaf of scrolls still in one hand but forgotten. He hadn't yet pulled his blade, and doesn't bother now. "I will take you up on that." His attention is more on the discussion at hand, though.

Erendriel looks around to all the reactions and questions. "There are spies that found out this shipment was coming. And I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it. Try to take one? Fireball the shipment? Depends on what they do." She remains seated, and yet no people are visible getting on or off the boat. "Maybe they're waiting to meet someone. MAybe they saw me and are going to leave. Have you guys been catching good fish?"

Azog has forgotten his own fishing line in the water, but that's OK because the fish aren't paying it any mind, either. "Caught nothing," he says to Erendriel. He looks over to where the boat is, though, and he walks in that direction. "I'm gonna ask what they're carrying. They'll either tell me, or attack, and that's the problem solved either way."

Malik listens to the conversations, his eyes widening a bit when multiple suggestions are put out there. Some prudent, some extreme. In front of a Silver Guard, no less. He finishes tying his shirt, pulling on his vest as he glances between the others. "Sounds like you've got this under control," he tells those gathered. "If I see smoke, I'll make sure someone knows to send reinforcements." Making sure that he has all of his things gathered, he offers a little salute, heading back toward the city. "Try not to make too much of a mess."

Kaydin looks to the others. "Wait what are we talking about?" He says as he looks to Erendriel. "They arent biting yet but I believe they will sometime." He says as he looks to his bobber.

Seldan looks after Malik as he leaves, then shakes his head and walks closer to the bank to watch the ship itself, and any activity going on around it. Mooring in a river that moves this swiftly is odd.

Erendriel points Kaydin to the boat just sitting there, doing nothing, that Azog is now approaching. "They're carrying scrolls. I'm not sure what kind, butthe Elunite priests have reason to think they are dangerous. I'm thinking of fireballing any crates they bring out."

Verna's hood lifts from the pages to point briefly at the vessel in question, then to Azog, then to the scroll-chaser. "Scroll are not illicit goods, so far as I'm aware." If they were, she would be concerned. "At the very least, such drastic action with so few facts hardly seems justified."

Azog gets to the edge of the water, and wades in. When he's about waist-deep into the water, a few of the boat crew notice him, and there's some commotion as he lunges into the water, cutting a messy-but-effective path through the water. He's swimming okay, considering the plate armor. The boat crew hurriedly cast off, it seems, and the boat begins to pull away before the big oruch gets more than halfway across.

"Maybe they are useful scrolls." Kaydin says as he looks to his bobber as the fish seem to be driven away thanks to Azog's splashing into the water. He sighs as he pulls his rod back and turns to look at the others. "So fireball it. Just avoid hitting the oruch and someone's property." He says with a shrug.

Seldan looks over, and seems to fully see Verna for the first time as the boat crew hurriedly cast off and the boat begins to move away, and he looks back at her. "I concur, my lady. We need more information before we can act. But if the Seers are concerned ... perhaps I can learn more at evensong. It certainly does look suspicious."

Erendriel jumps to her feet and points when Azog's mere approach causes the crew to take off, and start racing back down the river, out to sea. "See! They DID see me, and they saw him, and now they're running away. Definitely up to no good." Going into her backpack, she pulls out a scroll of sending, and speaks after reading it. "The boat stopped, then left toward the ocean when watched and approached." She then sighs heavily, and sits again.

Verna's hood dips as she nods to Seldan, then looks to Kaydin. "Given that the scrolls are personal property, your caveat would be impossible to meet. I fully support action against the misuse of magic, but I believe that this situation requires more investigation."

Azog finds pretty much everything in this city suspicius, but running away doesn't prove anything. Lots of otherwise blameless folks avoid Azog. He's swimming back to shore now. When he gets close enough, he'll wade ashore, riverwater runnning out of his armor. He reports, "They did not want to talk." He shrugs.

"Clearly they didnt want to talk. You also scared away most of the fish." Kaydin complains a little as he watches the oruch. He then looks to Erendriel. "You can blow it up now." He says as he watches the woman and waits for her response.

"No. You can't." Seldan's tone is firm. "The lady is right. It bears learning more, especially about what they are up to, but destroying it without proof is wrong."

Erendriel smiles to Azog. "You did a good job. They're probably going to try to take their scrolls somewhere else, and another Elunite group will have to handle it. " Kaydin she sighs to. "Sadly I can't. They're running away, and... she's right." Gesturing to Verna. "If they're not actually doing anything wrong... yeah." Nodding to Seldan.

Azog drip drip drip. He nods to Erendriel. "If they -are- doing something bad, they should be hunted down. But until we know, we should not attack. But. Finding out -is- allowed. We don't have to wait for them to do bad things."

"Fine then lets find out." Kaydin says as he begins to head to the river. "Lets bring the boat in and look at the scrolls they got?" He asks curiously as he begins to look around for approval or disapproval.

Kaydin sighs as he watches the boat rush into rushing water. "Any chance we can chase it down?" He asks curiously as he watches the other people. "Surely there is something we can do now?"

Seldan folds his arms, sheaf of scrolls in one hand. "Perhaps the harbormaster would know." He looks after where the boat had gone, and pushes a lock of hair out of his eyes, holding it there as his eyes narrow. "At any rate, I would speak with my Temple and learn their concerns."

Azog says to Kaydin, "It's faster than I can swim. But her Temple seems to be tracking these fellows. The Temples here are generally pretty good about keeping tabs on things."

"The Elunites know more of magical dealings than many," Verna agrees, "as is their duty and calling. I expect that they will learn more of the traders, their cargo, and intentions." She does consider the moving vessel and justified options for a moment, though is not forthcoming with immediate suggestions.

Erendriel sighs and shakes her head. "I don't think we'll be able to catch up. It's a good idea, but the Elunites around the world in the organization are talking about it. They'll get tracked down wherever they go. But we should be careful in case they come back, yes."

Azog circles back, mentally, and asks, "What was it you're concerned about them doing again?" He sits down on the grass and starts taking off his plate boots. He's gotten a towel from his pack, and he'll try to get his boots dried out.

Seldan continues to look where the ship had gone, then lets his arms fall as he turns to the others. "I should go, and see if I can find one of the Seers before evensong, then." That and, he's been in the bright sunshine long enough that he's starting to turn a little pink. "Her blessings go with you." With that, he turns and takes the stairs leading up towards the Highbridge two at a time on his way out.
